I had the daily special Chicken Enchiladas soup, and it was fantastic. It was kind of like a chicken corn chowder, deep chicken broth flavor, and lots of tasty corn. The tortilla strips give it a nice texture. I had the Cobb salad. It was huge, and really high quality ingredients. The chicken breast was clearly fresh, and the avocado and tomato's were at the perfect ripeness. My son had the chicken parm, and it was also great. Their homemade marinara was delicious, and the chicken parm was really good. I liked the breading as it was nice and crunchy. Also, the service is impressive. Every member of the waitstaff is personable and friendly, and they are highly efficient. The food comes out at the right time, and the time between courses is right.

We started with the homemade meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings were crisp and well flavored. The mozz sticks were crisp and had the perfect cheese pull as you ate each one. The meatballs were also huge and delicious as they are made from scratch in house. All of our entrees were also huge portions and delicious. I would say the only complaint was the burger lacked basic seasonings a little salt and fixed no problem. Service was very friendly and efficient here.

I ordered the "sounds good" burger . And that's exactly what it was , just good , not great . I ordered it medium rare and it came out well done even being pretty thick . I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side and I got the pulled pork on the side, so it's pre mixed ? It's mostly sauce with a little pork sprinkled in . The mac and cheese was the best part , and the Cole slaw was only 1/2 full, only a couple of bites . Was very disappointed. And everyone knows how much I love my coleslaw . My GF got the chicken wrap with fries , my buddy got the crispy chicken with fries. They liked what they got . Service was ok. They must have asked me 5 times if I wanted another beer before mine was even done , then try and get one when you're out . Not the best , but I'd give them another shot .

Now the food: I chose the tuna tartare for an appetizer. It was just "okay" but not nearly as good as the main Peter haven's restaurant. They had three options for oysters on the half shell. I opted for the larger ones which came from Damariscotta Maine. They were not optimum for the $3.00 each price point. There was not much body to them. I understand that sometimes happens. But, the brine was very watery and very very bitter. Even lemon did not mask the bitterness. I'm not sure I will go back there.

We did stop at The Marina to eat but stood at the host desk waiting for someone to greet us for 10 minutes and we just kept being ignored by servers walking thru so we decided to walk out of The Marina and keep going. (Note to self, make Mondays in Vermont for driving, or nature, & less to-do activities). At Bar 580 a really friendly bartender/server made for a very welcoming experience. Sorry I didn't catch his name. The menu had a lot of burgers and sandwiches and salads. We had a tasty Ruben sandwich, great fries and a bowl of 580 Mac n cheese (with bits of diced jalapeño pepper and creamy local Grafton cheddar cheese! This was great tasting casual dining. For fun we enjoyed playing billiards on the 2 smaller tables up front. The sun-streaming & huge outdoor space on the back patio looked inviting, facing the woods and a fire pit. (but I request better seating other than only the picnic tables please) Thanks again to the Monday afternoon bartender for the friendly Vermont hospitality! Oh and make sure to visit the shop across the way for fun souvenir items before heading home.

We held my sister-in-law's memorial luncheon there, and during what was an emotional and difficult day for our family, they made everything feel so much easier. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, but what stood out most was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire luncheon. They helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that allowed us to focus on being together and remembering someone we loved. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to gather with family and friends. Thank you to everyone at the 1846 Tavern for helping make a difficult day a little more beautiful. We will always remember your kindness.

We went with oysters and a pretzel. The pretzel was great! The oysters were awesome. The staff knew their stuff and our server was able to give us recommendations based on what we liked. Service was excellent, wonderful selection of beers and my wife had the wine she likes. The inside of the tavern is really cool. It's an older building and they really kept the character. This little New England restaurant, though, still had first-come, first-serve seating, and parking lot a bit crowded but found a spot at a corner to park. They originally had a 2hr wait for 14 ppl (we had a few tables ahead of us) but ended up giving us two tables if we were ok to cram together, which we were - super grateful for that! Didn't realize it before we went, but this shop was Kelly Clark's parents' restaurant, and the memorabilia was cool. Cheap beers and drinks, wings were ok (wings needed to be crispier and have more spicy buffalo sauce, the bbq version was just ok). The chowder was thinner compared to Anchor Seafood down the way, and the tuna nachos were ok (on light puffed rice chips w/ some seaweed salad to the side, mayo or similar across the top could've been better with some yuzu or ponzu sauce instead). Fried pickles were large and great, though, as were the fried cheese and pretzels. The truffle cheese fries were heavy but still needed more cheese and table didn't enjoy it as much. St. Louis Ribs were ok, but the Short Rib Stroganoff and the Lobster Mac N' Cheese were table favorites - and warmed up really well the next day with the generous portion helping balance the cost as it was basically two meals in one. Game and fun bathroom signs in the waiting area upfront. Staffers were busy but definitely worked to satisfy our tables' orders and needs and kept cheery while at it. Very tight seating spaces so make a note if you're on the bigger side, it may not be as comfortable depending on the seat you get. A bit spendier (there's food tax, LWB tax, and town tax...) but no credit card surcharge. Overall I'm giving this a 4 star b/c of the service. Food I've had better, but service was very helpful.
