    Rocky Road Carmel Apple
    Matthew C.

Oh my goodness the Carmel Apple collection here is the BEST! There is also a great selection of other chocolate but today I wanted a Carmel Apple and got the Rocky Road.

This location didn't have a Yelp page so I had to make one! This is one of the best chocolate shops I've ever been to. They have chocolate fondue, truffles, painted chocolate, macarons, and tons of hot chocolate flavors. Everything was delicious! This place needs more recognition. And the lady who helped us was amazing, she knew everything about each flavor. We got an Irish cream macaron, a few painted chocolates, a chocolate honeycomb candy, the s'mores hot chocolate, and more. It was that good!

I just wanted to thank Cristina at High Desert Chocolates for being so helpful and recommending good deserts. I had placed order online, I'm from California so I have never been to High Desert or ordered anything from them as I was ordering for a friend. Christina called me to let me know some of the deserts ordered online were not available, but she could replace them with other options. She made good recommendations and everything turned out perfect, so thank you I hope to visit in person one day.

Had a terrific wine flight and chocolate pairing today. Chocolates were divine. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend this for a fun outing. .

Very high quality chocolates were delicious! Many are made in-house. We enjoyed caramels and nuts.

Meg's cakes are moist, light, sweet, but not overly so, and layered with amazing flavors. Meg's Black Forest chocolate cake filled with cherries and topped with a whipping cream is heavenly. Her Bailey's Chocolate Cake is even better than it sounds. I have also tasted her red velvet cupcakes filled with chocolate ganache and topped with cream cheese frosting. Seriously. Yum. Her lemon tarts are so beyond. She also does a lemon curd filled cake that is killer. Plus, I have devoured her amazing onion tarts and other savory pastries. They are totally amazing. Why have I tasted so many of Meg's treats? She is the pastry chef for Poppies and Jen's Garden, both in Sisters, Oregon. Poppies and Jen's Garden have amazing food, as well. They both strive to put out the highest quality food while targeting a different dining experience. You know they have the highest of expectations for pastries that come out of their kitchens, and Meg delivers. I work out every day and save all of my "treat" calories for one of Meg's delicious pastries. I am already dreaming about what she will make next. NutMeg Cakes and Catering is available for on-site catering, special events, specialty cakes, wedding cakes, and more. You should call Meg. You will be glad that you did!

Any time we stay in Sisters, Sisters Coffee is the only way we start the day…read more It gets busy, especially on holiday weekends, but that's part of the experience. During Memorial Day weekend, the line was often out the door, yet it moved surprisingly fast. Even with the crowds, we usually had our drinks in hand within about 10 minutes. The Bourbon Caramel Latte has become a favorite, but honestly, we come here for more than the coffee. It's one of those places where you want to slow down for a bit. We'll grab a couple of drinks, find a place to sit, and spend an hour people-watching, reading, catching up on the news, or just enjoying the morning. The building itself adds to the experience. It feels like a classic mountain lodge, and there's always a steady mix of locals, tourists, hikers, cyclists, and dog owners passing through. Even when we're traveling with friends, Sisters Coffee becomes the mandatory first stop of the day. Will we be back? Of course. In fact, I think it's time I finally signed up for a coffee subscription so I can enjoy a little bit of Sisters when I'm back home. If you found this review helpful, give it a like so it can help others too.

On the inside, it has super high ceilings and is really nice. Staff greeted us and were super friendly. Got a couple iced lattes, a london fog, and a couple lemonades. Update review. We keep getting a male server who is stressed out and impatient. Makes us feel…read morerushed. Acts like he's a great waiter and like we're unworthy customers. He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!
