    Lemon pepper cauliflower

Overall really tasty food. The ambience was a bit experimental and fresh, but the service was a bit odd with some weird interactions. The cauliflower lemon pepper was actually really good. It had a solid level of crispiness and seasoned really well. The sauce wasn't the best but added some wetness to it. The chicken breast was really crispy outside as well with a really moist interior. Which was impressive to me since it was a pretty thick chicken breast so I typically expect it to be dry with that kind of crust. It came with squash and a tasty pumpkin sauce too. Overall a really tasty meal but an intriguing interior

Thanks to the owner for confirming that the Jackalope's name is Calypso! The service was great, food really good. Fun time for our second family dinner there

From the moment we stepped into High Country, we felt very welcomed by the waitstaff Kailey and Mandy showed us awesome hospitality, kindness and great conversations. The food was equally as fabulous - I had the summit bowl with seared shrimp and my partner, the classic cheddar burger

One of those places I must have passed by so many times and never went in, and I'm glad I finally did! The food was really good. as anyone that reads my reviews should know, I like traditional foods with a little twist and this place has got the twists. For example, their grilled cheese sandwich is actually a grilled Brie sandwich, and eve that has an extra twist. The fried butternut squash sandwich is also a great option. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable for today's crazy reality. It is a very casual space but still looks sleek and elegant, and very clean.

High Country comes from the same owners of Gemini (which is right next door). Service from Coco was so friendly and great. We enjoyed the super cheesy queso Fundido and the wings. The wings are brined, making them super flavorful and fall off the bone. We got 2 sauces to try. Fresno chili buffalo (spicier) and honey habanero (sweeter). Both were great. We also got the mile high burger with fries and the chicken sandwich with onion rings. I like that they don't upcharge for salad or onion rings. The fries were really good too. (I am very particular on my fries) For cocktails I had to try the Down River. It was so good. Served properly up in a Nick and Nora glass. My hubby got the XXX. It was delish! Very refreshing. We finished with the lemon bar which was light and great. Can't recommend High Country enough. They have a great patio and I am excited to see them grow in the space.

    Short rib

THE best restaurant to go if you have dietary restrictions. I had the short rib which was dairy free and gluten free and it was insanely delicious. They have so many gluten free and dairy free options. Their fryers are completely gluten free- Absolutely no worrying about cross contamination, first time I've had fries at a restaurant without worrying about having a reaction :). Perfect place for vegans, celiacs, and all sort of allergies. The servers are super nice and understanding of all dietary restrictions! Can't recommend a better place.

My family and I are visiting from California and we were looking for a place to eat. We came across High Country. It was definitely worth it! The food was amazing especially their wings and chicken sandwich. Their service was great especially Ella who went above and beyond when my 4yr old niece wanted to pay with her comfort inn card lol Definitely coming back!

I've been coming here since they opened and haven't had a bad thing on the menu yet, but they're currently running a special on pep rally days. The Stampede Burger: Smash burger, smoked brisket, fried pickles, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. It was absofriggioutely one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Adding that on top of the fantastic, friendly service and the modern but eclectic vibe and you'd be hard pressed to find a better dinner spot in Boulder.

Two fabulous local beers on a hot day! Happy Hour began at 2pm on Labor Day Sunday!

We came back a few weeks later and brought a friend from out of town who liked beer and was visiting Boulder. We enjoyed the patio and was happy to order from the happy hour menu. We enjoyed the atmosphere and seeing all the people walking around. There's also a really large room in the back that would serve private parties or large groups very well. The owner decorates the restaurant himself and it feels personal to his Czech heritage. We ordered the fried pierogies which were delicious. The spicy sauce was so yummy that I kept it to finish with my meal. I ordered the pork Jager schnitzel with spaezle. I liked the crispy schnitzel but I might ask for the gravy sauce on the side next time. The Honey Bite goes down easy and is delicious. Location is great. Parking was paid on the street and convenient to the restaurant. We had the same servers, nice young woman but I can't remember her name now. Very friendly and helpful. One of our favorite things during the pandemic when restaurants could reopen was picking up their in house chicken pot pie. It's my husband's absolute favorite chicken recipe which I used to make myself. Though I am unable to make it now that l have lost a lot of vision and not a single one we have bought elsewhere was sufficient until we ordered from The Post Boulder. After a short time it became too labor intensive for the Post to make in house back then with limited staff so they contracted with a pie facility in Denver. Compared to their own it was merely adequate so we moved on to there other in house specialties. As we were ordering gold specials for Sunday!s big game, I saw that the daily specials now include Chicken Pot Pies Thursday's so we went to try it. This ficus a personal size freshly made this morning it was nice to have for a meal with a side salad. But though good, it was not as hearty as the one we loved 5 years ago. Staff was friendly and attentive and my husbands favorite beer (El Korn) was on tap and my iced tea was customized perfectly . We even brought most of the salad home as it was a large serving for a lunch. We'll be back on Sunday for our wings and other treats that we need to pick up. And we can come back again for a lunch or dinner as the have more items for people like me who cannot eat fried chucked, with their grilled chicken or salmon.

Started with the cauliflower bites in sweet chili sauce -- and let's be clear -- these were not polite, side-salad energy cauliflower. These were "touch one and we're no longer friends" cauliflower. Sweet, crispy, addictive. I fell in love against my will. Then the fried half chicken arrived. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside -- like someone's Southern aunt spent years perfecting it. And yes -- there's a gluten-free fried chicken option that somehow tastes just as good. A plot twist I didn't see coming. The collard greens had that smoky-sweet-Sunday vibe, and once the house hot sauce entered the chat? Full gospel choir moment. And William at the bar? Welcoming, honest, and actually tells you what's good -- not "everything is amazing" menu-script energy. The man can be trusted.

From game days (televised or board/card) to happy hour catch ups I love coming here for the laid back and family friendly vibes. I've enjoyed having my birthday party here for the last handful of years (they have amazing event space). As it's family friendly my crew always feels happy to bring their well behaved little one along. While my friends are sure to bring activities for their kiddos (books, toys, educational iPad devices) some folks aren't as considerate. I've definitely had the unfortunate experience of kids running amuck while their parents are fully attentive only to their brewskis. This was particularly disturbing as I've been recovering from a knee injury for several months and my partner has often been with me and on crutches. Would love to see people take more responsibility for their children's behavior when taking them out in public for everyone's safety. While it's Boulder afterall I hold hope that parents will look after their kids if they decide to bring them in or drop them to the nearby kiddos climbing facility if they wanna play. Looking forward to many more good times with friends at this awesome locally owned gem.

For food, we each got a side Caesar salad. Large and with lots of flavor, they were very good. We each then got the Mediterranean pizza. I added chicken to mine. My wife liked hers, while I was disappointed in mine. I didn't find the flavor to be great, and the crust was rather flimsy and disappointing.
