    Chicken tacos and shrimp taco
    Kristena R.

The chicken here is delicious! It's juicy and flavorful. I had the chicken tacos, a shrimp taco and Spanish rice. The chicken is shredded in the tacos and tastes really good. Shrimp is cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the 1/2 chicken (I've attached a photo), that he let me try and I loved it! It's really cool that they offer 1/2 chickens, and for a good price in my opinion. You can also order a 1/4 chicken. It's definitely filling and convenient for lunch or dinner. Service is efficient- we usually order take out and our orders so far have been correct and ready on-time.

Chicken sandwich, potato salad, and mashed potatoes

Chicken is well seasoned and cooked here. I got the chicken sandwich and it was bussin'. I asked for no mayo, but they were generous and gave me some anyways. My sandwich came with two sides, which I elected for potato salad, which had huge huge huge chunks of potato, decent, but not overwhelming mustard. My other side was mashed potatoes, which was a generous portion with a pretty good turkey gravy. The place was rather loud, from a mixture of the employees yelling out your order, to when it's ready, and the constant banging of utensils, plates, and pans. Food was a 5-star, but the loud banging ambiance and not putting mayo, when I asked for no mayo, I need to take off a star. This place has outdoor seating too, that is covered, so it's a nice option if you want to avoid the noise and sit outside. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the front, the bathrooms consisted of single person bathrooms. The mens was dark, dank, and dingy, but it got the job done. There was a toilet and a sink, which appeared to be in working order. Sit or squat? Squat.

We walked in this place the first thing we noticed is how clean it was, and that they had plenty of seating. There are both booths and tables (we posted a video) We were greeted right away by Nacho he had a big smile on his face and he made us feel like family! He gave us suggestions and the over the counter menu is big, full of pics and very easy to read. We sat down and took out time looking and taking pictures of the menu. When we were ready to order we went back up to the counter (they don't wait on you) They have a Coke fountain machine which we love. They sell beer and other Mexican beverages. Right away we noticed they have Menudo which my wife loves. As a matter of fact she was thrilled with the Menudo here and said she rates this in the top three for sure! No chewy pieces and lots of "meat" I originally ordered the 21 shrimp appetizer for my meal and for just $2 more I got 2 heaping sides. For the sides I chose coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. I also added 10 boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese for only $5.99 and they were mighty spicy. I would would definitely come back for the shrimp meal... the wings were too spicy for me... so if you love spicy wings... you will love them here! Next time I will order the BBQ boneless wings. We will be back for sure! This place is amazing and I highly recommend dining here. Check out the menu and videos we added of our food! They have two bathrooms one woman and one men and they were very clean.

I absolutely love this place. This is a hidden gem that everyone needs to try. The chicken is delicious, and so are the sides. The portions are so big that two people can share and be full. The people working there are kind. The inside smells amazing and feels like a true bbq joint.

@Thehealthinspector8 Fresh hickory roasted chicken daily. Authentic Mexican cuisine and multiple American side dishes. The genuine small family business owner has served the community for 17yrs.

Was excited to try this place and seeing all the sides made me want to choose like 4-5 sides to go along with our chicken meal. We settled on roasted potatoes and cole slaw. The portions are very generous. But the taste is just average to me. Food tasted bland and lacked flavor. We also got the quesabirria tacos and those lacked any flavor. Was a bit disappointed overall with the taste. The chicken was on the drier side but my husband enjoyed it. Maybe I need to give it another try.

Half slab of ribs and quesabirria entreese.

The catering came on time as expected, and the food was wrapped up tight and neat. We got to try both the sweet and spicy sauce, but I only got the sweet. It was perfectly sweet with a depth of spice that went well with all the meats. The meats we got to enjoy were the smoked slice brisket, smoked ribs, and smoked chicken drumsticks. While the smokiness wasn't Texas level, the brisket was incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. The ribs were fine, nothing to complain about. Sadly, I didn't really like the chicken, and even though it was dark meat, it was dry. There were also plenty of sides, salad, and veggies. The sweet potatoes were pretty soggy by the time we enjoyed them, unfortunately. However, the mashed potatoes were crazy buttery which meant it was crazy good. I kept going back for seconds and thirds, eating to my heart's content. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of BBQ at Porky's. Some things were just alright, but I'd definitely recommend the smoked beef brisket and mashed potatoes.

For the hand-cut meats, we tried the brisket and pulled pork. Both were incredibly tender, smoky, and practically melted in your mouth. I was a little worried the mac and cheese would be too spicy because of the Hot Cheetos, but it actually had just the right amount of kick. The combination of creamy mac and crunchy Cheetos made it extra flavorful. To finish the meal, we shared a burger, and wow , it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Having lived in the Chicago area for many years, I've visited just about every restaurant that has opened over the years. I've also been to KBBQ several times for dinner and even left a review when they first re-opened. However, today was my first time trying their lunch menu, and I was genuinely impressed. Unlike dinner time, the bright daylight streaming through the windows illuminated every corner of the restaurant, making it easy to notice how clean and well-maintained the space is. Honestly, if there had been any signs of poor hygiene that I might have missed during dinner visits, I would have noticed them right away. But there was absolutely nothing to find! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us so warmly that we almost felt like we were being welcomed by old friends. They even looked around to find us a more comfortable seat and ended up giving us a great spot. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and happy to explain the menu in detail. Today we ordered spicy cod fish stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap... I wasn't particularly hungry :) since I had eaten breakfast not too long before, but as someone who believes in never skipping a meal, I picked up my spoon and chopsticks anyway. Well... my chopsticks got lost along the way. The six side dishes (banchan) completely stole my attention. Every single one tasted like something my grandmother would have lovingly prepared years ago. They were comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The spicy cod stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap were outstanding. Especially the cod was so fresh and thick that I found myself wondering, "Is this really cod?" The flaky white fish was incredibly tender, the shrimp, and other ingredients just as fresh. The spicy squid pot bibimbap was perhaps the best of all! I jokingly asked if they had a reservoir hidden behind the restaurant because everything tasted like it had just been caught that morning! Of course, great food is the most important thing, but I truly believe the warm smiles from the staff and the spotless dining environment made the meal even more enjoyable. KBBQ is one of those rare places where excellent food and genuine hospitality come together. It feels less like a restaurant and more like visiting your grandmother's house for a wonderful home-cooked meal. I'll definitely be coming back more often in the future. Highly recommended!

Seriously! So, imagine my surprise when I found out they had a restaurant on Irving Park Road in Wooddale - and I would occasionally pass it going to and from work! Well, it was time to try it for lunch today. There wasn't a big line of people, but boy did the food smell like barbecue when I walked in! I quickly ordered the two meat combo with chopped brisket and pulled pork. I got the green chili, Mac and cheese as a side, as well as the classic coleslaw. All right - the ambience was just perfect for a small barbecue place. The food came quickly, but I noted it wasn't quite right. I had asked for chopped brisket not sliced brisket. Not a crime against humanity, true, but still I didn't complain and I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway. So how was it? Well, I slathered on sweet rays barbecue sauce, and ate like crazy. The meat was pretty darn good! The green chili mac & cheese was delicious- can't say that the coleslaw was to my taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The cornbread was fantastic. The only reason for the demerit? Was that I ordered chopped brisket and got sliced. Will I come here again? Yes, yes I think I shall! And I think you should try it too if you like barbecue.
