    CHICKEN PHILLY
    Shane V.

Absolutely mid. In my hungover hubris, I ordered a giant sloppy toppy baked steak sandwich, and was served a congealed mass of steak and cheese that I could barely stomach. Service was quick, even during a lunch rush. Employees were friendly, and condiments were readily accessible. Conclusion: I have nobody to blame but myself for my disappointment.

So we actually came here because of a Facebook Ad LOL. Even though we've lived in Chicagoland for years, we'd never heard of Charley's. Overall it was pretty good, at least worth the trip to try it out. The ultimate fries were fairly tasty. The bacon cheese steak was good. Unfortunately the chicken philly lacked some flavor and was a little dry. The lemonade was my favorite part- I'm a sucker for fresh squeezed lemonade and they even have different flavors.

Good sandwiches but effing expensive. Three sizes to choose from: The why-even-bother-eating small size, the you-might-be-hungry-later medium size, and the they-say-it's-12-inches-but-really-10 large size. I had the Large Bacon3 Cheesesteak. Decent and flavorful. Along with the basic "Ultimate" combo (for an extra $2 more, I could've upgraded the fries size), the whole meal came to over $16. Yikes. The usual free drink refills. Service was fine. They're one of the busier places in the food court, so be nice if it takes a few minutes to order. Basically, this is an all-things-cheesesteak version of Subway.

Been here 4 times now, and for a Woodfield food court based establishment, this place is shockingly legit. The ingredients are fresh, they serve it up piping hot, and they have the food out quickly. I originally came to this place just because I happened to find myself at the mall and I was starving, but since my work is so close to the mall anyway I have came back again on my lunch breaks. Considering how much I typically hate going to the mall, and that there is a Portillos located right on Golf, the fact that I would still opt to come here should be quite telling in and of itself. Your best bet if you want to come here with limited hassle is to park in the lot adjacent to PF Changs. The jalapeno philly is my favorite as a fan of all things spicy. They do not skimp on portions either, which is a good thing considering the price points are rather high. You also can't go wrong with any of the loaded french fry combinations. These are delicious. If you find yourself at Woodfield and are looking for a good sandwich, this is your place.

    This is a medium.

These are our favorite chicken cheesesteak sandwiches in Chicagoland. They are well balanced on a perfect bun and the meat is done well.

It says authentic Italian deli all over it. Not in a pretend way, but in an authentic way. The service is warm and welcoming. The list of sandwiches is abundant. I smell it through the bag and couldn't wait until I got home to taste it. With the first bite, I was absolutely blown away. It really must be hard times in the restaurant business to resort to getting help like this. I cannot recommend this play and I will not be going back. Maybe the original shop in the city is better. The sandwich itself won't be reviewed bc of the bitterness and rush in which I came to write this review.

The food definitely stands out in terms of quality. It is most comparable to places like Canes , with the chicken/fries/toast combo. Everything comes out hot and cooked to order. The portions are a good size and it all tastes fresh. The dirty sodas were a fun thing to try out. And who wouldn't love a free ice cream cone while you wait, or after your meal? I thought it was unique that in addition to vanilla there was a banana cream flavor. The gals at the counter shared they try to switch it up. I loved the size of the tender meals offered and generous portion that stretched to two meals for me. Interesting, the cole slaw was the highlight of my meal, with the fresh flavor and complimented the tenders and crinkle fries well. My lime, coconut dirty soda tasted like vacation in a diet coke and I wanted to add a shot of rum to it! Friendly service and a short wait time were much appreciated, as I ordered my food to go. My husband's hot Nashville chicken sandwich was tasty and just the right amount of heat for him (but too hot for me)!

It's already set for you and they make it fresh. The only small negative is that last time i was here, one of the people working was a little hard to understand. The line was pretty long which gave me an indication that it was popular/good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered their Falafel bowl, with rice and a bunch of their available options. You are allowed to select 4 and then every topping after that is $1 per topping. This seems a bit extreme as they are NOT generous when adding your selected ingredients. I was expecting a much larger portion, but understand they are a business and have to manage their margins. The food itself was fine. The falafel were just ok, and had been sitting in a container, lacking the crispiness and freshness I am used to normally. For the extra options, everything tasted fine, I just felt skimped on the portions I was given. The highlight for me was the hot sauce that they offer. It was extremely flavorful and had a nice level of heat. I would buy that by the bottle if It was available. I think Falafill is worth a try, but you just have to manage your expectations. They do not come close to the traditional mediterranean restaurants I am used to visiting, but for mall food it's pretty good.

The staff is always nice and helpful, and for the most part, it's been pretty clean. Some stickiness here and there, but they always notice or clean when told about it. The last time we came here, a customer was screaming on the top of his lungs about how bad customer service was. He was being derogatory and told a Latino worker to go back to his country. It was awful. I'm mentioning this because although that specific worker argued back with the customer (for justified reasons), the other 3 workers on his team tried to de-escalate the situation to get the man to leave the store with his food. After 10 minutes of the guy yelling, they were able to get the guy to leave. Once he left, the workers were great friends and coworkers to the guy who was targeted and had him go on his break to cool down. It was nice to see them taking care of their team. Foodwise, I have never been disappointed with my sandwiches. I usually order an Italian sub and the ingredients have always tasted fresh and delicious. I showed her the ad, where it specifically states the Schaumburg location is participating, and gave her the offer code, which is valid for the entire month of August. She continued to object and made a big production of making a phone call to find out if they'd let her honor the advertisement. She couldn't reach whoever she was calling, and told us in an annoyed tone that she'd honor it THIS TIME, indicating that we shouldn't bother returning to take advantage of the deal the store is advertising. The whole experience was very off-putting and I think customers and corporate need to be aware that locations may not be honoring the promos that are being blasted out in sponsored ads. My friend and I each drove 30 minutes for lunch and chose our restaurant solely based on this offer. The food was good, but the awful customer service definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Two weeks later, Corner Bakery is still promoting this deal at the Schaumburg location. If I knew the offer would be honored without a fight, I'd be back, but based on my last experience, it's not worth the risk.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
