Hands down, this is the best food in the court! At this point I try to come here every time I'm at Woodfield. My favorite is the Steak Shawarma, with the spicy green sauce. Definitely a must to get the fries with all the seasoning. The best part of the shawarma is that there's no need to pick your toppings and feel like there's too many options. It's already set for you and they make it fresh. The only small negative is that last time i was here, one of the people working was a little hard to understand. I wanted Falafill to be better than it was... As a Mediterranean food enthusiast. I was very excited to see this as an option in the woodfield mall. The line was pretty long which gave me an indication that it was popular/good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered their Falafel bowl, with rice and a bunch of their available options. You are allowed to select 4 and then every topping after that is $1 per topping. This seems a bit extreme as they are NOT generous when adding your selected ingredients. I was expecting a much larger portion, but understand they are a business and have to manage their margins. The food itself was fine. The falafel were just ok, and had been sitting in a container, lacking the crispiness and freshness I am used to normally. For the extra options, everything tasted fine, I just felt skimped on the portions I was given. The highlight for me was the hot sauce that they offer. It was extremely flavorful and had a nice level of heat. I would buy that by the bottle if It was available. I think Falafill is worth a try, but you just have to manage your expectations. I visited Falafill at Woodfield Mall a few days ago for lunch before heading to the Sisterhood conference in Elk Grove Village, IL. My new friends and I didn't find any other food spot that caught our attention, so we decided to take a risk and try a new place. The food smelled so good! The place was a bit noisy because there were a lot of people at the food court. There was literally no line when we arrived, so it was easy to get our food and head to a venue nearby for a women's leadership conference. It was my first time trying Falafill; I didn't know what to expect, and it was so good! Ironically, it was right next to Chipotle. It literally felt like Chipotle, but Mediterranean style. I was able to build my own bowl, and now I want to go back to get more lol. The price was pretty affordable as well and is definitely a healthier option compared to other spots in the food court. The staff was very friendly, which was always a plus. I totally recommend this place! read more

Absolutely the best burger I ever had in my life. The bun was so soft, the onions perfectly caramelized and the meat amazingly seasoned. The fries are also some of the best I ever had. My go to spot when we go to the Woodfield food court. Meat is seasoned well and I love being able to choose my own veggies with rice. I love even more that its a healthy option amongst the other vendors. Its a bit pricey at $13 for a custom bowl but its an entire meal. Also comes with a pita. Fast service. read more

It's a decent spot in the Woodfield Mall food court if you want some healthier/Mediterranean style food. I had the chicken and falafel bowl (half greens half rice), it was pretty tasty and a big portion size that came with complimentary pita bread, but the food is certainly nothing unique, so lower your expectations if you're used to Pita Pita/Pita Inn style restaurants. I didn't like that they limit you to 4 toppings for bowls, so keep that in mind before making your selections in person or be prepared to pay $1 for each additional topping. Also disappointing they do not provide free courtesy cups of water. Service was okay, food was good, but all could be better, but mine was certainly not a bad experience. Inside the Woodfield Mall food court is the newly added Falafill Mediterranean Restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Shish-Tawook bowl and was surprised at how good it was. The meat products are halal. All ingredients are freshly made and all have their own unique flavor. There are many options but I picked the salad greens over the farrow or rice. The baba ganoush had a nice smoky taste, the hummus was smooth and the toum (garlic dip) was just right. The cucumber mint dressing for our salad was really good and complimented all the other flavors. They also gave a falafel and a warm pita bread with my bowl. We have become fans of Mediterranean food over the last several years. Most places you can get it at a spice level that doesn't bother anybody in our house and enough flavor that we are all enthused. This place is in the food court at Woodfield Mall, which I would expect to automatically subtract a star or so, but actually they have fantastic food. My wife and I usually get a bowl, which you can start with lettuce, rice, or farro, or a combination. You can get Chicken or Steak shwarma, beef short rib, chicken shish-tawook or a mix. We love the chicken shish-tawook. Then they have a bunch of options of toppings, and the one I never see anywhere else and love the best is muhmmara. The red color looks spicy and intimidating, but it is actually not spicy at all, and a little sweet. Everything we have tried is great and the employees are very pleasant. The place looks clean, (the store front, not the food court tables. Go early to find a clean table LOL.) Seriously worth a visit to the mall IMHO. read more

Today is my birthday and while I love middle-eastern food, I often can't eat it due to dietary restrictions. Every time a new one opens, you can typically find me there within the first few days of their opening asking about food allergies. Sadly. most of the time I'm disappointed. Not here. Falafill has been open for a while, so it took me a little longer than usual to ask. They are in a small shopping plaza with a few other fast-food restaurants. After we ate at one of them a few weeks ago, we decided to stop in. Yes, they said they could accommodate me, so we were thrilled. In that visit, we got to see the food and ask questions. There are a number of items they carry we were not familiar with, so they were very helpful in explaining everything. Getting back to my story, this is where I wanted to go with my wife for my birthday. My office is less than 1/2 mile away so we met there. The night was light with only a few customers. After reviewing the menu, we made our selections and wanted to try as much as we could (except we are two small people). We ordered a flatbread called "Zaatar," Hummous and Pita, and we split a Chicken Shawarma on a pita. Zaatar: Since my particular problem is milk, cheese is a no-no. Zaatar is a flatbread with Ground dried thyme, oregano, sumac, toasted sesame, and olive oil. The crust was just as it should be, thin and crispy. The toppings we a little dry but we added spicy zhoug and it made all the difference. Hummus: Outstanding. They serve it with warm pita. It has the traditional swirl of olive oil, tahini, garlic, and sumac but also had a number of whole chickpeas on top. Pita: The pita slices were warm - not crispy as we've had in other places. (This is the way it should be - crispy means overcooked.) It was very good, but it was similar to pita had in other places. I'm not saying there was anything wrong with it, it was delicious, but it didn't stand out. Chicken Shawarma on Pita: This was really nice. With all of the foods we ordered we split this. I wasn't so sure when I saw the ingredients on the menu. Who puts banana peppers on Shawarma? Well, it works. The flavors blended together into a wonderful taste. For drinks, I tried the mint lemonade and my wife had a bottled drink that was Orange Tangerine. Both were very good. The mint lemonade - you can taste the mint but it's not overwhelming. It was very refreshing. The service was also outstanding. I've read a few reviews that also mention the gentleman in front. And, I agree - he is into his job, knows his food, and cares about his customers. This is now our go-to lunch place. read more

Based on previous photos, I think this place used to be a stand-alone restaurant, so I am unsure if it has the same owners now that it's at Woodfield Mall, but I tried it the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. To be honest, it didn't taste any different than most Mediterranean chains that I have tried, but nonetheless, the food was fresh and delicious. Because my husband and I were shopping, we decided to stand in line for Chipotle. However, the longer I waited in line there, the more I started to crave Falafill. Honestly, the line for the place was extremely confusing because two sides had cash registers so I didn't initially know where to go. This place also did not have a line of people waiting like the other places in the food pavilion, so I had to go with my gut to figure out where I was supposed to go. I ended up going to the cash register on the right side. The guy at the cash register didn't say anything to me when I walked up, and I felt pretty awkward and stupid while ordering to be honest. I ordered a Chicken Shawarma Pocket ($11) for my lunch, and after ordering, the guy gave me a receipt with my order on it but I didn't pay there. Therefore, I awkwardly stood there in front of all of the fresh toppings thinking that I would be able to add things to my pita. After a couple minutes of waiting, I asked a different guy who was standing in front of the toppings while looking at his phone if I was waiting to add things to my pita or not because I hadn't gotten my food yet. He gave me an unknowing look and then asked a different guy in another language what I asked. He then replied that the pockets are cooked when ordered but that they already have all of the ingredients inside, and that I will get it in a bag when it's done. He then told me to pay at the register to the left. I paid and waited a little bit, but I was annoyed because other Mediterranean chains allow you to customize your pita with toppings after the initial ingredients are added; apparently, you can't do that here and the toppings are for the bowls you can order. Once I tried my food, it was very good. The meat was cooked and seasoned well and the chicken shawarma pocket came with chicken, french fries, pickled cucumbers, and garlic aioli inside. Overall, I do believe this place needs to be a bit more helpful in telling customers where and how to order, especially when it's very obvious the customer is confused. I also believe that everything should be a bit more customizable. I would definitely order this food again in the future because it was delicious, but I would probably order a bowl instead so that I could add rice and my own toppings. read more

I dined in about a week ago and was the only one in the restaurant. They had reserved tables to ensure everyone was spaced out if there was more people dining in and the restaurant looked immaculate. The parking lot is on the smaller side but I still got a close spot on a Friday late afternoon. The employee at the counter was very friendly explaining the menu to me. I ordered the falafel pocket. My favorite toppings are minted cabbage, beets, and muhammara. The garlic sauce is bomb and the cilantro lemon fries OMG. We go to the mall just to eat here. Well, I was skeptical this place would be anything like it was in the past. They used to have locations in the city, and then closed. They're back and they're great! They have manakeesh (flat bread with cheese, tomato or zaatar); spinach, cheese or meat pies; falafel (of course), salads and entrees. I've gone back a couple times now. I had a salad bowl with chicken kabob. I was able to add whatever I wanted in the salad, which was great. They salad also comes with rice...which is a bit weird for me. I opted out of the rice in the salad. The portions are great and it comes with bread. I went back for carry out and purchased the manakeesh, spinach and cheese pies, some tabouli and falafel. They all tasted great! The manakeesh is made to order in their oven, and it looks pretty awesome. It's made like a pizza and tasted really good. I was able to customize it, too. I didn't like how the sides were displayed. They looked like they were in this really wide pan and there weren't enough sides to cover it. It made me think this place isn't busy enough. I didn't see where they got my sides from when I was waiting for my food. They may have a fridge, I don't know. It looks like they're taking a spin on some of the sides. There aren't too many "traditional" sides, they are fused with quinoa or something else. I'm willing to try it out. The price was a bit too high for me. I haven't left without spending less than $20. Manakeesh and the pies are quite pricey. The falafel is, too. I'm assuming it's pricey because of the location, not many middle eastern places here that are Arab run. This was our favorite spot...we have spent quite a bit of money at this place and enjoyed it very much, until today. I ordered my usual, chicken shawarma bowl, with my 3 fillings and house rice. Now I have been coming here for the past two years, but have been traveling for 2-3 months. I was SUPER excited to eat here after my time away. I received my bowl, it was literally 1/4 full, hardly any house rice and they are now adding shaved chicken, instead of the full pieces in the past. I called up and spoke to the Manager - Miguel (not very helpful) who continuously asked for the name on my order??? Not too sure what that was going to solve, but after not getting much out of the Manager besides "well I need the name on the order in order to see what you ordered" ummm, I am telling you what was ordered??? and what was wrong with the order (fell on deaf ears) It basically ended with, I will give you guys one more shot. If it happens again, (including the shaved chicken) I will no longer be coming to this establishment. I understand restaurants are all trying to cut corners and make more money, but I will gladly pay a little more in $$$ to get the same experience. We happened upon this spot because we were in the area shopping and needed some lunch! I'm so glad we picked this spot because it was SO fresh and delicious! Ordering was a little slow - the guy told us to look at the menu by the cash register [basically paper menus] and then ended up taking someone who walked in minutes after us at the other register to order then walked away. Eventually, he saw we were ready and walked back over but it was just weird. The food was so good! We ordered a bunch of stuff to try and each also got our own entrees - needless to say, we had a bunch of leftovers. + Muhamarah flatbread + cheese: looked like a cheese pizza but that roasted red pepper spread added a different flavor! It was good but wasn't my favorite - my friends really enjoyed it though! + Zaatar flatbread: holy flavor!!! So simple but this was so delicious. The flatbread was crispier than the muhamarah one [probably because it didn't have sauce on it] and there was SO much zaatar spice mix on it - it was one of my favorite things we tried!! + Hummus + pita chips: VERY tasty hummus - there was a drizzle of olive oil on top plus some actual chickpeas. The olive oil was clearly good quality - overall very good! The pita chips were mini pita halves, perfectly fried. They were delicious. + Falafill fries: do NOT get the plain fries! Get these falafill fries for sure! I mean the plain fries are probably perfect too because these fries were perfectly crisp yet soft where they needed to be. But, the lemon and coriander and spices on these fries made it the perfect bite!! Def recommend you order these! + Falafel fill bowl: I got this as my entree and it was delicious! The falafel balls were perfectly crisp on the inside and soft on the inside. My fave component of the bowl was the couscous that I added. You can only add 4 included items to your bowl which seems less than most falafel bowl places but the dude behind the counter said it honestly ruins the bowl if you add too many so I stuck to the 4 + an extra sauce [spicy zhoug - which was tasty but more cumin heavy than I've experienced in the past] +house pickled cucumbers and turnips: get them and add them to your bowls or sandwiches. they pickle them in house and they're delish. Ordered the mix bowl with chicken & steak shawarma...both were very good, the steak was surprisingly tender and generous portion of it. You get to choose 4 items to add to the bowl in addition to the rice, 1 falafel, pita and meats that come with it standard, I went with hummus, baba Ghanoush, quinoa tabouleh & beets. All were extremely tasty. The hummus is outstanding, very fresh and flavorful. Also ordered falafel and falafill fries as sides and neither disappointed. The fries were so tasty! We decided to try this place since we had a coupon for Uber eats. First of all they call their wraps/sandwich "shawarma" which is very confusing when you look at the menu. Don't know why? We ordered a couple of falafel sandwiches and a chicken shawarma sandwich . We also ordered the falafill fries. Falafill fries.- Tasted good but were pretty sour and a lot of coriander seeds that were killing the flavor. Falafill sandwich was descent . Not too bad but still was a little on the sour side. Chicken shawarma. This must be the first place where I did not like chicken shawarma. It has a weird after taste. Again felt like that had overpowering spice taste which made it little bitter. I was waiting for a long time for this place to open when I worked nearby. My job eventually moved before Falafill's opening, but thankfully I was in the area today and had to stop for lunch. The parking is limited, but the interior is spacious and well-appointed. Service was friendly. We ordered a small muhamarah spread, which was delicious. We also got a kofta burger, which was pricey at $13, but very tasty. The meat was nice and juicy, the cheese added a nice flavor, and the bun was quality. Lastly, we ordered a mix bowl with steak and chicken as the proteins and a few fillings.
