    Falafel and Chicken Shish-Tawook Bowl
    Frank L.

It's a decent spot in the Woodfield Mall food court if you want some healthier/Mediterranean style food. I had the chicken and falafel bowl (half greens half rice), it was pretty tasty and a big portion size that came with complimentary pita bread, but the food is certainly nothing unique, so lower your expectations if you're used to Pita Pita/Pita Inn style restaurants. I didn't like that they limit you to 4 toppings for bowls, so keep that in mind before making your selections in person or be prepared to pay $1 for each additional topping. Also disappointing they do not provide free courtesy cups of water. Service was okay, food was good, but all could be better, but mine was certainly not a bad experience. I'd recommend if you're in the mall, but if you're not in the mall, there are much better Mediterranean spots out there in the Chicagoland area.

One of the best options in the wood field mall food court! Ordered the chicken sandwich special "HARISSA HONEY HOT CHICKEN" -- chicken was crisped to perfection, spicy but not too spicy, sesame seed bun just enough bread to it. Also their falafel - pretty good!

It was my first time trying their food. The gyro was tasty and well-made, but it's not my favorite. Still, a good meal overall and worth a try!

Grabbed 6 falafels for a snack. Super quick and tasty. $1 a piece. Crispy and crunchy and tasty.

Pleasantly surprised by how good this spot is! I got the falafel bowl. You can choose between greens, rice, or a farro base. Then you choose your protein (meats or falafel) and then you can select four toppings and a sauce. They're very generous with their portions. It was all delicious. They're quick and friendly. For a middle easterner I applaud them!

The service food was a 10/10. I def will be back. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and Savory. If you're eating in the food-court. This by far is the healthiest most fulfilling choice.

The guy running the place was super nice and helpful .got the chicken shawarma. It was good a little dry but over all good. It's a mall food court but their restaurant was very clean and inviting. Everything looked fresh.

This falafel was so crispy and delicious especially with garlic sauce.

Surprisingly delicious and authentic middle eastern food for a food court! Glad I stopped. Line is long when I went, but so worth it.

Today is my birthday and while I love middle-eastern food, I often can't eat it due to dietary restrictions. Every time a new one opens, you can typically find me there within the first few days of their opening asking about food allergies. Sadly. most of the time I'm disappointed. Not here. Falafill has been open for a while, so it took me a little longer than usual to ask. They are in a small shopping plaza with a few other fast-food restaurants. After we ate at one of them a few weeks ago, we decided to stop in. Yes, they said they could accommodate me, so we were thrilled. In that visit, we got to see the food and ask questions. There are a number of items they carry we were not familiar with, so they were very helpful in explaining everything. Getting back to my story, this is where I wanted to go with my wife for my birthday. My office is less than 1/2 mile away so we met there. The night was light with only a few customers. After reviewing the menu, we made our selections and wanted to try as much as we could (except we are two small people). We ordered a flatbread called "Zaatar," Hummous and Pita, and we split a Chicken Shawarma on a pita. Zaatar: Since my particular problem is milk, cheese is a no-no. Zaatar is a flatbread with Ground dried thyme, oregano, sumac, toasted sesame, and olive oil. The crust was just as it should be, thin and crispy. The toppings we a little dry but we added spicy zhoug and it made all the difference. Hummus: Outstanding. They serve it with warm pita. It has the traditional swirl of olive oil, tahini, garlic, and sumac but also had a number of whole chickpeas on top. Pita: The pita slices were warm - not crispy as we've had in other places. (This is the way it should be - crispy means overcooked.) It was very good, but it was similar to pita had in other places. I'm not saying there was anything wrong with it, it was delicious, but it didn't stand out. Chicken Shawarma on Pita: This was really nice. With all of the foods we ordered we split this. I wasn't so sure when I saw the ingredients on the menu. Who puts banana peppers on Shawarma? Well, it works. The flavors blended together into a wonderful taste. For drinks, I tried the mint lemonade and my wife had a bottled drink that was Orange Tangerine. Both were very good. The mint lemonade - you can taste the mint but it's not overwhelming. It was very refreshing. The service was also outstanding. I've read a few reviews that also mention the gentleman in front. And, I agree - he is into his job, knows his food, and cares about his customers. This is now our go-to lunch place.

That's mostly because I've been burned by a couple of places where I gave them the five stars for a nice meal, only to be slightly more disappointed on future visits. But Pita House earns the five stars for me, because I've been there very often, and besides the wonderful food, I find them to be consistent, polite, and professional, with reasonable pricing just as a bonus. On this visit I opted for the beef shawarma sandwich, falafel, and the fatoush salad. I ate inside as I usually do here, because it's easy, spacious and clean. Although I'm not a huge falafel lover, I always enjoy them here. The salad was a new choice for me and I really liked it. The beef shawarma is my standard go-to here. Usually I order the plate, but lately I've gone with the sandwich. They stuff it nicely. Although I haven't had their lentil soup lately, it is always excellent. Five stars here for me!

There are two rooms one that you can sit with the front table to order and another room is full of tables that can also accommodate large parties. The guy was pretty good remembering who ordered what while people were coming in and out, placing orders and sitting down and enjoying their food. To my surprise, the service was quick and friendly we ordered the six piece falafel appetizer which was crispy and hot and the tahini was nice and creamy Hubby enjoyed his grape flavored crush. Haven't had that in a while. When we got our meal hubby ordered the beef and chicken combo shredding pieces on top of rice nice and tender had a lemony taste to it and I had the assorted shredded soft beef on top of seasoned yellow fluffy rice. When we got our meal, it was plenty , especially for the price. We could have shared a plate The meat was nice and tender and the sauce was spot on the season yellow rice yum! I couldn't stop eating the rice, but I had to cause I was getting too full that we had take out containers and can I tell you the leftovers was even better! The bowl serving seemed kind of small- especially for being $13. The bowl also came with a small salad inside, but I was not a fan of the pickle that was cut up, but that's just personal preference for me. The falafels were crispy and tasty. And the hummus was good, fresh and homemade, and looked amazing, but while getting close to the bottom of it, I found a tiny blue spec mixed in the hummus. Of course it caught my attention and I removed it to inspect it more. Possible a piece of sponge??? Needless to say, it shouldn't have been in there and it ruined my experience with the hummus.
