    Size of sandwich

Shawarma Stop is a nice new tucked away spot in the strip mall across from Oberweiss Dairy. It used to house a sushi place before this. We ordered both the chicken and the beef Shawrma sandwiches with the trimmings and the sauce. Me being a sauce and extra sauce lover, I felt that there was a lot more sauce than I would have liked. Next time I will order the sauce on the side so I can control the portion. They use halal meats and the shawarma is made on the premises by the chef. These are good size sandwiches and could easily qualify for a dinner sandwich. Ingredients are simple with salad trimmings and special in-house sauce. They offer many different flavored sauces depending on your taste. They also have a very nice selection of deserts in a case. We tried the mini cream puffs which were excellent. All these deserts are freshly made daily! If you like dining in, they have a nice dining area that can accommodate an intimate get together to a large family setting.

When I was driving down Schaumburg Road a couple of days ago, I saw this restaurant and today we are going to give it a try. When we first walked in there the door was hard for me to open. There were three people working behind the counter, no one greeted us but they all seemed really nice. The menu is available by the register. They have canned and bottled beverages and free tap water. After you place the order they give you a beeper like device and you take it to your table. The restaurant is not too big. There are only 5 booths and 2 two person tables and one large 6 person table. The booths were dirty, thankfully I carry wipes with me. The Chicken Shawarma was not like any other I have ever eaten. It is bland and the sauce taste like Mayonnaise. Not a lot of flavor and although it was made on a large wrap it was not as full as I hoped. They could charge a little more and stuff it more and I think I would consider trying it again. You could see pickles but the mayonnaise taste was overwhelming. I would recommend ordering it with the sauce on the side. The soup was served in a cardboard to go bowl. They give you plasticware to eat it with. It was just average they left a bay leaf in the soup, I know not to eat it but what if someone doesn't know . Look at the menu, it shows a picture of the dumplings and it does not look like they are in a broth. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. It was served with sour cream so we drank all the broth then added the sour cream on the dumplings and ate it that way. I think we will wait a few months and give this place another try and order something else. The menu does not have many items on it. If you come here make sure you add a review so I can see what you think.

We visited specifically to try the shawarma, and it did not disappoint! The beef shawarma was juicy and delicious; however, be mindful while eating to avoid any spills on your clothes! We also ordered the coleslaw salad, and it was quite good. However, I felt that it had a bit too much dressing for my taste. A lighter mix using vegetable oil and vinegar might enhance the flavors even more. Just a suggestion for improvement! I appreciated the variety of desserts they offered, including profiteroles, eclairs, and honey cake. It would be great if they could consider adding Napoleon cake to their menu as well. On a different note, they had unfortunately run out of chicken noodle soup and kompot due to high customer demand, which is understandable but a little disappointing. Overall, it was a great experience, and I look forward to returning!

The entire menu is Halal. We ordered the beef Shawarma wrap, the chicken, Shawarma wrap, dumplings, and chicken noodle soup. Very flavorful and the portions are big. I highly recommend for a quick lunch or dinner.

Finally -- delicious Central Asian food in Schaumburg! I've missed this kind of shawarma from my childhood so much, and the first bite brought all the memories rushing back. The cozy interior is such a beautiful nod to Kyrgyz culture, and the warm, friendly atmosphere makes you want to stay a while. Shawarma Stop feels like a little taste of home -- absolutely worth a visit!

It was empty when it arrived, but filled up on our way out, telling me it's a popular place for the younger crowd. Either way, you know you're in for a good meal when you see the huge doner rotisserie spinning. The owner (at least I'm pretty sure he was the owner) helpfully walked us through their sauce selection and even offered my MIL some sauce samples. She ended up getting the hot dog with veggies, while my wife and I got sandwich combos (17 for the sandwich + 3.50 for fries and a drink). I was going to share my combo with my preschooler since they don't have a kids meal, but the owner thoughtfully offered some fries with chicken for him. We definitely had to tip well for such nice service. So this is no ordinary sandwich, and the pictures don't do it justice. In pics it looks kind of like a pita pocket, but this thing has some HEFT. Filled with veggies, meat, and sauce, it got a little messy but was really tasty. The veggies were fresh, and it's hard to top meat sliced right off the log. My MIL said her unique hot dog was good as well. To me it looked like a Chicago dog from another dimension, but I also want to give it a try next time. Protip: Ask for your sauces on the side. They're almost too generous with it on the sandwich so it's nice to have a little more control with it. This will definitely enter the rotation and will be letting our friends know as well. Great stuff!

When we entered the restaurant, if you feel like you're transported into another country, even the background music compliments what you're about to experience It's a dicey kinda place nothing fancy. First you would have to take a look at the menu and place your order at the front. They do not have waiters staff to your table. There are two rooms one that you can sit with the front table to order and another room is full of tables that can also accommodate large parties. The guy was pretty good remembering who ordered what while people were coming in and out, placing orders and sitting down and enjoying their food. To my surprise, the service was quick and friendly we ordered the six piece falafel appetizer which was crispy and hot and the tahini was nice and creamy Hubby enjoyed his grape flavored crush. Haven't had that in a while. When we got our meal hubby ordered the beef and chicken combo shredding pieces on top of rice nice and tender had a lemony taste to it and I had the assorted shredded soft beef on top of seasoned yellow fluffy rice. When we got our meal, it was plenty , especially for the price. We could have shared a plate The meat was nice and tender and the sauce was spot on the season yellow rice yum! I couldn't stop eating the rice, but I had to cause I was getting too full that we had take out containers and can I tell you the leftovers was even better! I overheard one of the customers who was happy with his wrapped meal said compliments to the chef the owner said it is his grandmother who cooked and prepared our food. overall it was a nice experience. Staff was friendly place was clean. Food was good and plenty. I'll definitely come back here again even if it's out of the way, the flavor and the texture of the rice was really good! This was a nice find you don't stumble upon new places like this often so I won't gate keep it. if you like this kind of food and you're picky about your rice then Check it out and enjoy your meal here!

The falafel came with delicious pickles, two tahini, sauces, and some tomatoes. I think these are the best falafel I've ever had. They stayed together nicely and they were moist and delicious. I definitely recommend you try these. My soup was excellent. I love lentil soup and this one was seasoned well and the cup was a decent size. I love the pita bread here because it's very thin and holds up well when you make a sandwich. This is great for people who are watching their carb, but still want to have some bread. We had service with a smile and the lady who took our order, brought everything out to our table, and she was really kind and professional. You pay for the food when you order it. I was a quite disappointed because we went on Saturday at 6:30pm and they were completely out of all pide, ezme, haydari, and the pickles so the menu was pretty limited. The entrees also said they come with bulgar and rice but we did not have any bulgar on our dish..it also said we should have roasted peppers and onions, which were not on our dish either. I assume they were out of all of those? We really wanted hummus but it was not on the menu. When we finished our meal, we noticed the table behind us had hummus... it would have been nice to know they had hummus. Also, we really wanted to try the manti but did not see it on the menu. At the end of the meal, my husband wanted a coffee and the waitress said there was no coffee and the machine was broke. Service was ok. Waitress forgot our drink. Not very attentive. Dining area is small but cute. They are planning to expand the dining area so there really isn't much of a market anymore. Prices are pretty high in comparison to most Turkish/middle eastern restaurants. They do give you yummy bread and Babaganoush. I want to try it again in hopes that other menu items are available.

The bowl serving seemed kind of small- especially for being $13. The bowl also came with a small salad inside, but I was not a fan of the pickle that was cut up, but that's just personal preference for me. The falafels were crispy and tasty. And the hummus was good, fresh and homemade, and looked amazing, but while getting close to the bottom of it, I found a tiny blue spec mixed in the hummus. The food we had was really good I had the Shish Kabob Sandwich, it came with two 10" kabobs that were made out of Halal ground beef, it was nice and spicy and full of flavor. A quarter of my plate was lettuce with raw onion (which I really love to eat on my sandwiches). There were Also two pieces of naan that were both about the same size as the plate. My husband had the Butter Chicken and he says it was good and unlike any other Butter Chicken he has tried in the past (other places make it with more of a tomato flavor). It also came with rice (he could choose rice or naan) The Shish Kabob meal includes rice or naan on the menu... but she told us that there is a separate charge for this. She said prices for Halal meat have gone up. She did not charge us this time but will next time and instead of $8.99 for the Shish Kabob meal, we were charged $9.99 which is not a big deal. They also automatically add a 15% gratuity charge to the bill. I have seen a charge like this at other restaurants for large groups but never just for me and my husband. If they don't include the naan or the rice I don't think it would be very filling, I would rather see them have an updated menu with the correct (increased) pricing which includes naan or rice. If this is not an option, at least tell us when we are ordering. If you plan on dining here I suggest asking for pricing if your paying with cash to make sure you have enough money with you.
