A friend and I chose to meet here after seeing the sponsored ad for a $6.99 Choose 2. When I placed my order and presented the offer, I received objection from the cashier, who said she had not received any marketing info about this and didn't think the store was participating in the promo. I showed her the ad, where it specifically states the Schaumburg location is participating, and gave her the offer code, which is valid for the entire month of August. She continued to object and made a big production of making a phone call to find out if they'd let her honor the advertisement. She couldn't reach whoever she was calling, and told us in an annoyed tone that she'd honor it THIS TIME, indicating that we shouldn't bother returning to take advantage of the deal the store is advertising. The whole experience was very off-putting and I think customers and corporate need to be aware that locations may not be honoring the promos that are being blasted out in sponsored ads. My friend and I each drove 30 minutes for lunch and chose our restaurant solely based on this offer. The food was good, but the awful customer service definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Two weeks later, Corner Bakery is still promoting this deal at the Schaumburg location. If I knew the offer would be honored without a fight, I'd be back, but based on my last experience, it's not worth the risk. read more

I drove quite a bit of distance to get to this Corner Bakery and was disappointed with the customer treatment. The girl at the register, Ashley, did not seem to want to be there. She didn't smile, didn't greet, and seemed annoyed when I asked her where the sides were listed on the menu board. (The sandwiches on the board said it comes with a side.) Ashley said the sides weren't listed and verbally told me what the sides were. She mentioned soup as one of the sides, so I ordered the soup. When I ordered the soup, however, I noticed an additional $3.09 charge for the item. I thought one side was included like she said, and inquired about the charge. Ashley said the soup side is an additional charge. (The sandwich was $12.19.) I also ordered a desert. Ashley informed me that the desert was $2.50 each instead of the $4.69 or $4.49. I was delighted and let her know. But then I looked at the charge on the screen and it was not showing the $2.50 she mentioned. When I asked about that, she looked and said oh, it's not $2.50. No apology, just an attitude. No eye contact, just a dismissive, I could care less demeanor the whole time. When my order was ready she just said my name, left the bag near the inside of the counter and walked away. I had to reach back in there to retrieve my order. I'm disappointed with the customer service. Additionally, when I looked into the kitchen while waiting for my food, I noticed a woman with brunette hair eating and chomping while turning around and preparing a sandwich on the grill. Not the most hygienic or professional. The customer experience was unpleasant and I'm hoping it will improve because without customers there is no business and no jobs. Regarding the food, if you're expecting the club sandwich to be the traditional 3 decker design, think again. This was one of the worst experiences I've had here, and I come here quite often. There was no signage or area indicating where to pick up mobile orders. I went to the area where people pick up food when dining in as there was a huge line to just regularly order. The woman behind the counter was literally standing there and didn't make eye contact with me for like 5 min while i stood 5 feet from my food and drink - sitting there, ready to go behind the counter. I finally said "hi I have a mobile order" and she looked at me with such contempt and was like you're supposed to pick up over here - not sure where that was? My husband and I had a coupon for choose two for $5.99. any pasta, any salad, any sandwich, any soup many choose to combos after 4:00 p.m. must present or mention coupon when ordering. My husband ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with chicken noodle soup and it came with a side bag of kettle cooked original chips. I ordered the pesto chicken pasta with broccoli cheddar soup it also came with a bag of kettle cooked original chips. I added a maple pecan bar and my husband and I split it. The food was nice and piping hot! All the items we orderered tasted great! We will definitely be back again! The restaurant is very clean there was one little section that they kept closed but there was still plenty of seating available at night. There are lots of different soda fountain beverages, you fill your cup yourself. They also have fill your own coffee and iced tea. I have came here a couple times since it's nearby my boyfriend's work and we meet up for lunch, each time we have been here there has been poor customer service. We have had a couple different people take our orders and each of them have been rude. Constantly rolling eyes/shaking heads and makes u feel like ur disturbing them. I'm very disappointed with Corner Stone bakery. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup via doordash for $11.29. I noticed that the chicken noodle soup is more broth, then noodles, or vegetables. I'm literally eating broth. Also the cup of soup is the same ounces as the bowl of soup. I didn't see the difference in size. For the amount of money there should be more noodles and vegetables. The size should be different a bowl of soup size should be different from a cup of soup. Yet the price is different. I stopped by this Corner Bakery with my mother to get lunch. It was a perfect atmosphere. There were a few customers in there when we arrived but it was quiet enough that we could have a conversation. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I ordered the pick two option with the tomato mozzarella sandwich along with the cheddar broccoli soup. I got the side salad as a side. My mother ordered the classic Caesar salad with chicken. The food came out quickly and was served hot. The food is what you would expect if you went to any of their restaurants. It was good, not great, and filling. I don't get a lot of their desserts since I'm typically full after my meal. I recommend this spot if your in the area. First visit and very confusing. After ordering the lady disappeared without giving me any receipt or a number. We were just left at the counter with no direction either to wait or go to the table. Finally she showed up with teas we ordered and told us to go to the table. None of the tables were available. About 5 or 6 were left with dirty dishes. I've always loved Corner Bakery. I think their chocolate muffins are absolutely heavenly- one of my very favorite treats anywhere! I also like their DC Chicken Salad- it has currants, almonds and apples in it- delicious! I also like their coffee and appreciate that you get free refills on it (and the soft drinks) while you're there. Their lemonade is good but it sits out for a long time in ice in front of the checkout lanes and sometimes is warm by the time you get it- disappointing. No free refills on that. They have an option for half a sandwich and soup which is really popular. This location is great- at the far end of Streets of Woodfield attached to Maggianos. You order and pay at a counter and then they bring your food to your table as it's ready. They have friendly people working and keep the restaurant really clean. When the restaurant is crowded you are sitting pretty close to other people but I've still managed to have some great conversations with a friend here, over yummy coffee and my chocolate muffin. :) read more

CBC, oh how I heart thee. On our monthly trip to Chicago it'll be a given I need to stop at this Corner Bakery Cafe for my fix. Because we are in town for work, CBC is the perfect quick, In-N-Out breakfast spot for us. 'My' breakfast consists of the crave worthy chilled Swiss oatmeal. Without fail, this is what I order every single time. Oats, yoghurt, fresh banana, apple and raisins all mixed together and served with a crispy slice of sugared bread. Deeeelicious. To top it off, I order a slice of lemon pound cake to go. Because, obviously! I usually don't do sweet breakfasts, you will make me happiest with a plate full of eggs and potatoes. I'll up you one, CBC has AVOCADO on the breakfast menu and I still order the (non savory) oatmeal. I'll let you ponder that one... yup, it's that's good. Me saying 'no' to avocado is like the Kardashians turning down publicity. It just doesn't happen. On the flipside, he orders the commuter croissant; a warm croissant with cheese, scrambled eggs and bacon. THE WORST. Turn around and go to Panera. The lunch manager is a mess. It was our turn to order and he turns to us and say. YOU NEED TO WAIT, not hello, or I'll be w you in a second. He was rude, and nasty to his employees and sent out the wrong food. No apologies, No customer service what's so ever. Oh and the food sucked, it was so over toasted and slopped together. I came here early in the morning expecting fresh products, but my chocolate chip cookie was hard as a rock. Why even sell me something this quality? Huge disappointment. Their cookies are normally pretty good, but not if they're over a day old. The employees are nice but a lot of them can be dingbats. I don't mean to be mean, but they come off as lost sometimes. The last time I came for lunch I had the pesto pasta dish. As they were preparing it, I could hear the manager in back scolding the employee for putting too much pesto in it...He was wrong. I got some watery dish that needed a lot more pesto. Overall I like Corner Bakery but I feel this location is poorly run and has slowly been getting worse.
