I have been to many of the Corner Bakeries in the suburbs and in the city, and food-wise, if you have been to one, you've been to them all. If I were to review the food at Corner Bakery, I would give it 4 stars - as I have liked every sandwich, salad, soup and muffin on the menu that I have tried, but their fountain soda is terrible...seriously, there is something wrong with their mix - not enough syrup maybe? Whatever, it's bad. However, this is not a review of Corner Bakery's food (or fountain soda) but rather a review of my experience with Corner Bakery catering. In mid-December I had a Christmas gathering with my "married friends" and their children out in the suburbs. We were going to be having our own Christmas dinner and everyone was required to bring a dish. I was assigned salad and bread. In an effort to save time and frustration, I elected not to make a salad or bake bread, but rather to purchase these items. I decided to go with Corner Bakery catering as I have always enjoyed their salads & rolls when I have stopped in for lunch. I am giving my experience with Corner Bakery catering 5 stars for the following reasons: 1) Ease of ordering: I went online, looked up the catering menu available at their Schaumburg location, called to place the order (24 hours in advance) and was finished with the task in about 3 minutes. 2) Staff: When I arrived at Corner Bakery to pick up the salad and bread, despite the heavy weekend lunch crowd I was attended to promptly and given my order without any delay. Everyone was very friendly -the employee who took my phone order, the employee who rang up my purchase, and the manager who greeted me and made sure my order was correct. 3) Correct order: Sadly, I have become accustomed to restaurants screwing up orders, and so I always kind of expect that when I receive my order, it will not be 100% correct. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I received my order to see everything was exactly as I had wanted it. 4) Quality of food: I had chosen the Sante Fe Ranch salad and a basket of assorted rolls. It was definitely a crowd pleaser. The presentation was nice and the salad and rolls were delicious. I would, without hesitation, use Corner Bakery catering again if the need arose, and recommend it to others. read more

As far as cafes are concerned, the Corner Bakery food and menu are fantastic. It gets the gold seal for cafes. The staff is extremely nice and responsive. Additionally, they'll bring your food out to your table and pick up your plates when you're done. I can't help but compare this cafe to Panera. If Panera is a burger , the Corner Bakery is a steak. The food is that much better at the Corner Bakery. I will go to Panera and suffer through their mediocre sandwiches so that I can connect to the Internet and get some work done, while I eat. In Panera's defense, I enjoy going there, but they don't use the highest quality ingredients. Delicious treats. Tasty lunches. Plenty of bevvies to make you smile...that is Corner Bakery. Clean, smiley and current. I've been to this location many a time when I used to live and work in the Schaumburg area. While it's convenient and fresh, the main reason I grab lunch from here is because of the DC Chicken Salad. It is the bomb dot com. A decent, but not heavy hand, of mayo marries chunks of chicken accompanied by slivers of almonds, apple, currant, a bit of red onion and celery. Plop a scoop of this bangin' chicken salad atop some fresh greens and you've got yourself a lovely lunch. Also, there's always some type of baked good sample out and ready for the tasting. Whether you dig the brownie bites or the sour cream coffee cake, you really can't go wrong in the bakery department. My previous experience with Corner Bakery was grabbing a snack on the way through Union Station, in downtown Chicago. We caught an early movie at the AMC (with the big Loews sign) in the same plaza and hit the Yelp mobile app for some local dinner suggestions. The reviews here won us over and we were not disappointed. The food was great, I got a half sandwich and some excellent tomato soup, and my girlfriend got some pesto pasta. I had a coffee and she had a hot chocolate, both were good. Actually, the hot chocolate might've been more than good, she was still talking about it the next day. I pretty much love Corner Bakery for just about everything. I love it for breakfast. I love it for lunch. I love it for dinner. Similar to a Panera Bread, Corner Bakery offers a variety of salads, sammies, soups, pastas, and breakfast sammies, scramblers, and oatmeal. And of course, they offer a plethora of combo meals ((Everyone loves options, right?!)) My go-to meal is usually the Trio Salad where you can 2 of their specialty salads with a cup of soup and field greens. Or, you can choose 3 of their specialty salads with field greens. ((The D.C. Chicken Salad and the Caprese Pasta are still my faves after several years!)) As for the sammies, my favorites are the Poblano Fresco, California Grille, or Chicken Apple Sausage Panini for breakfast. Yum. Service is always fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. And Corner Bakery is always clean - a big plus in my book. The biggest downside is the parking lot they share with Maggiano's. It can be somewhat of a nightmare finding parking during Maggiano's lunch or dinner rush. I usually park a little further, avoid the drama, and enjoy a short stroll. read more

I've been to the Corner for breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was years ago and there isn't really one near us now. I've moved to a new office and there is one right down the street. On a freezing day we decided we would stop in for lunch to grab soup and salad. We had no idea it would look like a blizzard outside when we left to go pick up our lunches! I choose the Trio - Soup & Salad with the Mozzarella Tomato Arugula Salad, the Cavatappi Pasta Salad, and the New England Clam Chowdah. I must say that I was quite impressed with my choice and Corner's lunches! The salads were nicely seasoned and didn't taste like just salads. The chowdah had a hint of bacon flavor! My friend and I met for a late breakfast date here. After we ordered and found a table, our food came out promptly. We both enjoyed our breakfasts. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and we were able to chat without too much background noise. Plus we could refill our coffee when we downed the first cup. The large windows let in a lot of sun which was perfect for a chilly winter morning! The service was pretty good, my only complaint is that when we went up to order the woman running the register keep trying to get the attention of someone behind us and it was...distracting when I was trying to order. read more

I have it eaten at the Maggiano's Little Italy in the past but never tried the corner bakery. The service was fast and courteous. I decided to give it a try choose the Asian wonton salad and the prime rib and cheddar sandwich. The café salad came out with a very generous portion It included chicken which I didn't expect but was happy to see. One tip is if you sign up for the Maggiano's email alerts you get frequent coupons in this case I got both for $6.99. Note the salad comes pre-mixed with dressing and also an extra cup of dressing . I would only add the extra dressing after you tried the salad. The salad was delicious but I might want to see if there's a spot low-sodium version of the dressing since it was quite salty. Corner Bakery is one of my favorite casual chains for salads, sandwiches, soups and especially their desserts. From location to location their food is consistent and their customer service has always been above average. This review is based on a recent catering order I placed for work. I ordered 2 large salads, 2 soup jugs, 20 mini sandwiches, a fruit plate and a dessert plate. The food was perfectly prepared (soup was piping hot and flavorful, salad was cold, fruit was fresh) and the mini sandwiches are a perfect size for lunchtime. Their desserts are also done in a "mini" size and they're so delicious. I frequently place orders for large (15+) groups of people and CB is hands down the best food, portion size and the most well received meal that I continue to order. Aside from the food, the manager who assisted me was extremely helpful-she brought the food to my car and offered me a coffee while I waited. Went to Corner Bakery tonight and got shrimp scampi and the prime rib panini for take out. My husband said the shrimp scampi had absolutely no taste. My prime rib panini had old and tough meat in it. I waited 15 minutes for my breakfast to go. When asked why it was taking so long, I was told dine in orders come first. My food was sitting on the counter waiting to be bagged up for at least ten minutes. When I did get my food (oatmeal) it was cool not even warm. Worst customer service ever. I recently visited for the first time. To be honest, I had no idea where this place was located. I knew it was in the Streets of Woodfield area but never thought that it would be connected to Maggiano's. I specifically went in because I had a voucher for a free Power breakfast panini. Free is a great way to get me in the door! I was very happy with the way Corner Bakery Cafe set up this promo. There were specific dates and times that you signed up for. I had to go between 8-9 am. When I arrived there was barely anyone in the place. I was able to walk right up and order. I was in and out within 10 minutes. Usually when places have freebie promos they end with an epic fail. Two thumbs up Corner Bakery! I got the chicken apple sausage panini. It came on whole grain toast with scrambled eggs and cheese. I am not a big fan of "fast" breakfast foods but this was pretty tasty and satisfying. It did a good job of filling me up until lunch time. It also came with some salsa that I did not try. The manager noticed that I was waiting for my food and asked if I wanted coffee while I waited...that was nice. Parking here is a bit tricky though. The lot is fairly small and it was completely full which was odd because there were only 2 other patrons in the restaurant when I arrived. Who do all the cars belong to? It's been a long time since I have been in a Corner Bakery. They are popular in the city of Chicago, but not many locations in the suburbs. This place reminds of another Panera Bread or Potbelly kind of place so you already know my drift. Expect to spend around minimum 10.00 for a meal. I had the cafe size Mac and Cheese which is a big bowl plus drink. I gave it four stars because I think it did not give a lot of choices. But good service and very clean. It's worth a shot going. Generally, Corner Bakery is my all-time favorite place to eat. However, the reason I didn't give this location five stars is because it's one of the smaller, more crowded, and less homey Corner Bakeries. It's still awesome, but the tables seem squished and a bit disorganized because there are no walls anywhere to separate them. If you don't know much about Corner Bakery, they've got the BEST FOOD. The prices are about the same as Panera Bread. They've got amazing desserts (there's almost always samples) and their California Grill panini is out of this world. They've got an awesome salad plate, where you can pick out three different types of salads for $7 (pasta salad, fruit salad, potato salad, tuna salad, etc. with green salad free on the side). They've got breakfast food, huge bowls of delicious soups (especially their cheesy, bacony, hot potato soup)...Corner Bakery ROCKS! read more

Kids breakfast is rather boring and the bacon was very greasy. The menu has no prices so we ordered without realizing how tiny the portion for the power flats are (assuming we could have figured out the size based on price). Didn't like the flavor of the coffee and not sure (1) that my cappuccino was actually one and (2) that it was in fact decaf. To go here during lunch is a pain because I have to fight my way through Woodfield Mall traffic, Streets of Woodfield traffic, and a parking lot that is never empty because Corner Bakery is inexplicably attached to Maggiano's which ALWAYS seems to be packed. Whatever happened to that whole "recession" thing? Seriously, is that the only place where they could afford the rent? If they could change locations to a place that is both convenient and part of an area with available parking that doesn't involve a Frogger-like minigame of trying to make it across one or more well-trafficked streets between Corner Bakery and my car, then that would be absolutely lovely and perfect.
