chicken noodle soup

I could not believe how little the BLT was, It had one slice of wilted lettuce, A couple tomatoes, Bacon was a nice amount, BUT you could tasted that it was old. Chicken noodles soup was extremely oily overpriced for the food!

Lunch for two, 3-07-2024.

The husband and I came here and enjoyed a lunch at this spacious and airy location. It was pretty busy as there are always plenty of people around Woodfield Mall. We shared an a-ok small chicken rosa pasta and a Choose Two of 1/2 chicken pomodori panini with a baked potato soup. The baked potato soup was saltier than I prefer.

I stopped by this Corner Bakery with my mother to get lunch. It was a perfect atmosphere. There were a few customers in there when we arrived but it was quiet enough that we could have a conversation. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I ordered the pick two option with the tomato mozzarella sandwich along with the cheddar broccoli soup. I got the side salad as a side. My mother ordered the classic Caesar salad with chicken. The food came out quickly and was served hot. The food is what you would expect if you went to any of their restaurants. It was good, not great, and filling. I don't get a lot of their desserts since I'm typically full after my meal. I recommend this spot if your in the area. The prices are reasonable and are very competitive for the crowded Woodfield area.

A Corner Bakery / Maggiano's combo location here.

This Corner Bakery is typical and one of the several that are connected to a Maggiano's.  They have a nice location just north of the Streets of Woodfield and with a large, convenient parking lot.

Chopped Salad

This not a chopped salad at all, the chicken taste fake. I'm so upset that I wasted my money on this. I will never order this again. I didn't like the salad dressing that comes with it either. Please use grilled chicken, not fake rubbery chicken please.

Half-and-half, chicken tortilla soup and California Grille Panini sandwich

I've been here twice, both on a weekend (Saturday during lunch hours). Absolutely NO parking spots during that time. I had to park by Dick's. Corner Bakery is connected to Maggiano's, which could explain the terrible parking situation since they share the same lot. You can valet your car for $$, but I'd rather save my $$ and get the exercise. Gotta burn off those carbs! My go-to menu item is the half-and-half, chicken tortilla soup and California Grille Panini sandwich. It comes with a pickle and your choice of chips or carrots. I opted for the chips because I felt like pigging out. Both are pretty good for a chain restaurant. The service seems to be consistently decent at Corner Bakery. Friendly staff, quick to get our food, keeps the restaurant clean. Be wary if you sit outside at this location! Birds like to hang here and eat the crumbs. On my most recent visit, there was one persistent bird that was determined to get some of my friend's food (I was already done eating at that time). He was hopping towards us, on the floor, on the chair, on the table. Even with me shooing him away, he kept coming back. We moved to another table, and I left my plate and dish there. The bird ate some of it and then came to our table again! Finally, we just had to sit inside because my friend was freaked out by the bird. In the end, bird - 1, us - 0. Come here outside of peak hours if you can, and say hi to the bird for me!

Similar look and feel to Panera. Food better and offers a full breakfast menu as well. I really enjoyed the Chili!

The samosa chat and bhel are my absolute favorites. They make it spicy per my request and it's delicious! They'll make it milder based on your preferences. Remember to order extra rotis since it only comes with two and you need probably six to finish it! The desi omelette is average and just a typical omeltte. The green boiled fry is very good, but quite spicy. The cheese katori is covered in way too much cheese for me, so it wasn't my favorite. Their corn masala sandwich is very good and good portion size for lunch. I love their mango lassi and might be one of the best ones I've had. I wasn't a fan of their sweet paan since it was overly fragrant with rose, but I know that's a me problem and other people prefer it that way. Lastly, their pani puri is very spicy, but tastes really good with the tamarind chutney.

I feel that many breakfast establishments do well with food and then so so with coffee. The R.EC. however has some good coffee as well as many other fantastic beverages to select from. Now to the good stuff or should I say the AMAZING stuff! I always see the same two guys back in the kitchen and they do such a nice job of consistently making great tasting high quality dishes. Even when a new dish or special is introduced the quality, taste and freshness is out of this world. The staff/ownership really knows what they are doing providing fast friendly service with a small town home made meal feeling. Plenty of booths and a side spot of tables where they can accommodate large groups, even an old school dinner counter to belly up close to the chiefs and catch a glimpse of all the dishes your going to have to come back and try. I'm almost reluctant to even tell you all how good this spot is as I want to keep it all to myself, lol

I generally find that a chain restaurant due to management has different service...and this one…read moreproved my observations. Although friendly greeting and being seated immediately, that went well. Where this train started going off the rails was when the waiter returned with our beverages it was obvious he had been somewhere eating because he had remnants of food on his mouth and was "smacking" his lips. We had to repeat request for things. Now, he was pleasant however not professional. Where we were seated there was trash (food and a straw) on the floor between the tables and no one even attempted to clean the floors around us. (Although I personally don't like sweeping around the table while eating because dirt and debris flys around when people use the brooms). For everything we ordered it was a bit salty in areas as if not distributed well. On one side of the dish it was extremely salty and the other side needed a touch of salt. Then when mixed the whole dish was almost too salty. Although we were told we had gotten there right after brunch there were very few customers, however even 30minutes in we still had not received our main courses. Disappointed is an understatement. Oh, and even after asking for the check took quite long. Suggestion to management at this location... Do better.
