In a category that I feel is saturated with lots of restaurants, and becoming increasingly saturated -- Minnie Bird stands out for me both in terms of choice and quality. Shops that offer chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fries, and similar options have become very commonplace in this area of the Chicago suburbs. Even without considering the quality of food, there's a few features that make this a hit for me. The dining room is fun, yet appropriate. The value here is great both in terms of quantity of food, and overall pricing. The ice cream that changes monthly provides a fun way to customize a periodic visit. While I'm not crazy about the texture and flavor of it, it's still an enjoyable dessert -- particularly on a warm day. The sides such as fried cheese curds and spicy fries are different. The dirty soda options also provide a ton of possibilities for social media posts and different flavor options on each visit. Service is not too slow for how busy the restaurant is, and parking isn't too difficult. The food is very good here, both in terms of flavor and texture -- and generously portioned as well. The tenders rival the best versions I've had from other dedicated chicken restaurants. Crispy with tender chicken that stands well on its own without sauces, but at the same time has a heightened experience with the quality sauces, which each have a distinct flavor profile. I also enjoyed the cole slaw and texas toast considerably, and especially the fries which were crisp and matched very well with the sauces. The same level of food quality is also present in their sandwiches and wraps, which mix the same quality components together for a delicious product.
Can't believe I haven't written a review for Minnie bird yet. What's wrong with me? This has been my favorite spot since they opened. We drive all the way from Rockford at least once a month because we love it so much!!! We HAVE to have their rotating monthly FREE ice cream and sauce. We never miss it. It's what I look forward to every month.
Picked up something from ikea in Schaumburg and stopped for lunch. You order at a kiosk which I'm never a big fan of but we were able to just barely beat a huge wave of people so were able to get food quickly and grab a good table. I thought the sandwich was awesome. Great flavor and crisp. Juicy and hot. Kids of course liked the ice cream. I'm excited they opened another location in oakbrook because we will be back! It's super cute inside.
Chicken sandwiches are huge and tasty, tried the signature Minnie and the Nashville. Coleslaw is a great compliment to the sandwiches. Dirty sodas are popular and the best part is the complementary swirl ice cream. There's a flavor featured each month. Ambiance gives a fun, ice cream parlor and diner vibe. Service is fast and the staff is friendly and happy to answer any questions about the menu and specialty sodas
I have been here a few times, but the last time with friends, the food was even better than I remember! We were catching up before the full calendar holiday season and no one said a word to us as we chatted away for almost four hours. (No one was going without a seat, otherwise we would have relocated!) There are few places where the price includes the entree, the sides, an unlimited fountain drink, AND a little sweet treat. The upgrade to cheese curds to share is always recommended. The sweet person at the ice cream station let me eat both vanilla AND pecan praline after she heard me pass because I am allergic to pecans. She informed me there are actually no pecans in the flavor and saw the instant regret on my face for assuming it did and put some in a cup for me to try in addition to the cone of vanilla WITH SPRINKLES (!) that I was holding. I do wish the restaurant space was bigger and wasn't surrounded by not one, but two doors that open in these Midwestern winters, but that won't stop me. I'll just try to eat at odd times to ensure a table space! I am happy you are here, Minnie Bird!
At the urging of my brother and sister-in-law, my husband and I went to Minnie Bird with them. This reminded me of Raising Cane's only with many more options. We ordered the three wrap combo and the honey glazed tender combo. For sides, we had the crinkle cut fries and cheese curds. The chicken was good and the flavors that in came in added variety to the meal. The crinkle cut fries and cheese curds were familiar yet exciting. You get a soft serve cone with your meal. You can choose from vanilla or the flavor of the month. This month's flavor was mint for March. It was ok but shouldn't be the sole reason for coming to Minnie Bird. The restaurant was pretty full the entire time we were there. We'll have to try a dirty soda the next time we come.

If you've ever wondered "how long will Mark drive for a chicken sandwich?" The answer is "at least an hour." After seeing Minnie Bird on social media, it instantly made its way on my virtually endless "to try" list. Yesterday, I finally made the trek out. Was it worth it? Absolutely! In fact, I'd be lying if I wasn't low key considering returning today. I ordered a Minnies Fried Chicken Sandwich Combo (Hot) and a Caramel Cake Skinnie Minnie Dorty Soda. The sandwich was excellent! I was tender on the inside, has a crisp exterior without the feeling of chewing on rocks, and the sweet to heat ratio was spot on! Now, while I do plan on asking for extra pickle chips moving forward, while devouring this glorious thing I didn't necessarily feel they were missing. Bonus points for the sando staying together well, despite a liquid honey glaze. The combo also came with fries, ordered as crinkle cut. These were both cooked and seasoned to perfection. What made them even better is the Minnie Bird has lots of different sauce/condiments/dips. Diehard fans of my blabbering will know how much I love going ham on sauces. I didn't even touch the ketchup! The dirty soda was great! First things first, I love that they have sugar-free oprions for those who want to watch their sugar intake. The Caramel Cake was a delicious and superbly balanced blend of Diet Coke + SF Caramel + Cream. Definitely a winner! As a cherry on top (pun intended), you're also entitled to a free ice cream cone with purchase of a combo or sandwich, IIRC. Alas, it does not come with a cherry on top. It's a smaller cone, which is a perfect end to an otherwise calorie dense meal. I got the S'more's flavor, which was excellent! Finally, some closing notes: - The service was great! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and kind. Food and soda came out fast too! - Everything about the interior was clean! - While the prices are a little on the high side, I think the quality is up there, plus nothing is really cheap anymore. Thus, perhaps it's a good thing Minnie Bird is as far as it is, else I may have found myself in here a couple times a week! P.S. This is a milestone review - #1,200!
You order your food and drink at a kiosk and wait for them to call at the pick-up counter. Staff were very friendly. Drinks were ready almost instantly. I'm a sucker for a good dirty soda, and theirs was great. It is very cute inside - kind of like an old-time diner feel with all of the red and white checkered pattern everywhere. The sandwich was spicier than I expected, but the seasoning and tenderness were on point. Whenever you are ready for dessert, you can go up to the drink/ice cream counter and get your complimentary cone.

The chicken itself is golden fried to perfection--crispy, flavorful breading and juicy meat inside. I tried both the Nashville Hot sandwich and the classic tenders (no spice), and I honestly can't pick a favorite. They were both excellent. You get to choose from cheese curds, fries, or slaw as your side, and I mean... come on. No wrong answers there. Add in the sauce bar, which is elite, by the way.......and you're in flavor heaven. Don't skip the Minnie Bird sauce and the dipping sauce. Trust me. And here's the kicker: FREE ice cream at the end. The flavor changes monthly, and it's the perfect sweet treat to wrap it all up. It's 1000% worth the short drive from the city. If you live nearby, I'm officially jealous. Highly recommend this spot!
I thought this place was all right. Food came out quick and there's also free ice cream but I did not like the most was they? They did not accept any cash which I thought that was weird and for like a fast food type place except in cash like kind of like regular you know service they're friendly. It was also just really nice. The atmosphere this place is really makes it really well. It's a nice place. Good music good vibes overall it's 3 out 5
We tried Minnie Bird for the first time. Ordering has two Kiosks and one register; when we stopped by Friday night there was a line out the door. Saturday just after 12 noon, had a much moore manageable line. Finding a table is VERY COMPETITIVE, most people spilt up and one person would wait for a table to open up and swoop in to grab it while the other people ordered food. In more agreeable weather there will be outdoor seating. We went with the fried chicken sandwich with the signature honey glaze and a chicken tenders classic style. I went with the cheese curds and my husband went with crinkle-cut fries. I also tried the dirty soda toasty marshmallow. The dirty sodas were created in a barista-like station with dozens of syrups to create the dirty soda. I found the honey glaze on the chicken too sweet, I liked the classic chicken tenders without the glaze. The chicken sandwich was served with cole slaw on the chicken breast in the bun, it proved to be very messy; there should be a supply of napkins at every table rather then just at the drink station. I also found the dirty soda too sweet but what was I thinking... Mr. Pibb, marshmallow, and cream. My husband went for the free soft-serve Ice-cream, but I was already on sugar overload.
Fun family friendly fried chicken sandwich chain with trendy cream soda. The restaurant is located after the main strip and has plenty of parking. Inside seating is very much soda counter vibe. I saw the cream soda trend and tried it since it was close to the office. Unfortunately I'm not a fan and being a surcharge, was not worth the experience for me. It reminds me of a melted root beer float, but not every trend is for everyone. The fried chicken sandwich was delish and the there so many sauce options. I really appreciate the variety. Service was busy for a weekday lunch, but the chicken was fried fresh to order, so worth to wait. The free ice cream is average and more geared towards families with kids.
Consider me a fan! This joint is conveniently located just down the road from Feed My Starving Children. It makes for a perfect post - pack hang. The food definitely stands out in terms of quality. It is most comparable to places like Canes , with the chicken/fries/toast combo. However they excel in comparison with their dirty sodas and other food offerings. The fries, cheese curds and Texas toast are all delicious snack options. Everything comes out hot and cooked to order. The portions are a good size and it all tastes fresh. The dirty sodas were a fun thing to try out. During my visits, I tried the "Toasty Marshmallow" (Mr Pibb) and the "Float On" (Barqs) . Both are sweet combinations and are fun treats. There's a lot here that makes them stand out from most fast-casual places and overall provide a quality dining experience. read more

Finally made it to Minnie Bird after recommendations from several people. The general consensus I have been hearing is there's good quality, tasty food, and unique flavors in the dirty sodas and lemonade. And who wouldn't love a free ice cream cone while you wait, or after your meal? I thought it was unique that in addition to vanilla there was a banana cream flavor. The gals at the counter shared they try to switch it up. I loved the size of the tender meals offered and generous portion that stretched to two meals for me. Interesting, the cole slaw was the highlight of my meal, with the fresh flavor and complimented the tenders and crinkle fries well. My lime, coconut dirty soda tasted like vacation in a diet coke and I wanted to add a shot of rum to it! Friendly service and a short wait time were much appreciated, as I ordered my food to go. My husband's hot Nashville chicken sandwich was tasty and just the right amount of heat for him (but too hot for me)! read more

I love the design and space of this restaurant. It gives you a nostalgic diner feel with clean and modern touches. I ordered the pimento honey heat sandwich and the pimento was delicious. As for a dirty soda, I ordered a thin Dave and the coconut cream with the Diet Coke was heavenly. You also get a sweet treat at the end, when we went it was s'mores soft serve and it was delicious! The staff was very nice, but it is self serve. We will definitely be back when we are in town again! read more

We visited with our 3 year old for lunch. This is the perfect spot for kids in terms of eats, chicken tenders and fries strawberry lemonade and free soft serve. How can you go wrong with that? (But no Kids meal listed so you gotta share with your kid). The restaurant has a super cute aesthetic. When we visited, every table was packed. We were able to get a table eventually. However it was never cleaned off, and I didn't notice anyone cleaning the tables off. Just keep in mind, if that kinda thing bothers you with crumbs on the table. The food was great. Our chicken tenders came piping hot. Each tender had great flavor and were crispy. They had an ample amount of chicken in each tender, not just a bunch of breading. The garlic bread slice was BIG and also tasted flavorful. The fries were simple but a great vessel for sauces. The coleslaw was also fresh, not overly sweet. Unlike other tender places that limit you on sauces, this place really shines because of the sauce selection. We tried every sauce and each one was high quality and full of flavor. Could not find a bad sauce. The drink selection was also great. We didn't get a dirty soda. However, the regular fountain soda had good carbonation and the strawberry lemonade was loved by our 3 year old. He loves tart lemonade so this was perfect!! The combo meal is probably the best value because it comes with fries and a drink. Substituting a dirty soda is the same price (+2.99) as just buying one, so it seems better just to take the regular soda the meal comes with. After all that, we tried the free soft serve ice cream. It was good for being "free" and also nice portion size. We got vanilla and chocolate strawberry swirl. The chocolate strawberry swirl was very tasty! Would definitely come back and we preferred it to other "big name" chicken tender places in the area. Excited to try those big sandwiches next! read more

This restaurant is newer to the Chicago Burbs and located in a plaza right next to Buffalo Wild Wings. The parking lot was full when we got there for an early dinner but thankfully there wasn't many people in line but still every table was taken. We ordered on the screen and were given a ticket number that they'll call out with our drinks. I got the Minnie bird sandwich with a side of cheese curds and the dreamsicle drink. I was excited to try dirty sodas since I hear they're super popular in Utah. But I was a bit underwhelmed, maybe I just got the wrong one? But the bottom tasted like watered down Fanta and the top tasted like cream, and mixed together it didn't taste much of anything. The sandwich itself was huge, you get all of the chicken breast, with the coleslaw and Minnie sauce. It was super juicy and full of flavor. The cheese curds were my favorite, it's been a while since I've had cheese curds that I actually enjoyed that wasn't too breaded, I didn't even need ranch sauce to dip it with. Which by the way if you wanted all the sauce, they had a whole counter of sauces for you to pick from. I opted to try everything as is for this go around and I was really happy. I think the only let down for this experience was that tables were never really cleaned so every time a table gets up it just sits but people sit down because they need tables to eat since there really is such limited seating. Overall a great experience, I'm excited to come back and try other menu items. read more
Had the five tender combo at Minnie Bird. My My how busy it was on a Saturday night. It's only like two kiosks for ordering only, so the queue was 20 deep, and the line moved slow. I liked the sauce station and free ice cream with meal is awesome. The ice cream was ok, cocoa flavor and vanilla soft serve. The portion size of the combo is pretty decent, we shared a 5 tender combo amongst two of us. Strawberry lemonade was yummy. I'd try again another time perhaps when I'm in the area. Good concept, I think the ice cream and dirty sodas will get people in the door. read more

It was love at first bite for me. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich & the chicken was twice the size of the bun. The chicken was very juicy and tender, packed with seasonings. The bun had pickles and sweet coleslaw to compliment the spice in the chicken. You can also pick your spice level & dipping sauces. I placed my order at the Keosk; I was done eating by the time I got my dirty soda, but I throughly enjoyed everything. I went early on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed, very limited seating. This is a great place to meet friends, for families, and for foodies. I didn't realize that the meal came with ice cream but I left satisfied & highly recommend. read more

We came here on a weekday evening to grab a bite to go after some shopping. I like the concept of ordering from a kiosk but it would be nice to have an option to order from a person during peak hours or when it's busy. Parking: free parking and no issues finding parking Customer service: Friendly and approachable staff. Atmosphere: Clean, family friendly, casual. I enjoyed my first time here! Everything we tried was delicious and worth the drive up to Shaumburg! I first heard about dirty soda on tiktok and it intrigued me. Im not a pop girly at all but I still wanted to try. For our drinks, my fiancé got the Seaside and I got the Peachy Days. His drink had a more subtle flavor while mine was way more sweeter but still refreshing. They have tons of flavors to choose from! Now lets talk chicken. I got the nashville hot sandwich and lemme tell you that chicken was seasoned SO WELL! And the piece of chicken is huge. Very tender as well. I opted for "hot" and it definitely had a good kick to it. With every meal you get a free ice cream cone which I think is great marketing! Since the combo typically comes with crinkle fries and a regular fountain drink, I had to pay extra for the curds and dirty soda, bringing my total to about $20, which is a bit on the pricey side. That said, I was full by the end of the meal, and since everyone gets a free soft serve with their order (though they didn't have vanilla that day, only orange creamsicle), I had dessert, too! There are upgrade options for the sides and drink, but I stuck with the basics to compare it to Raising Cane's. If you order a dirty soda, make sure to listen for your name--there's a separate counter for those, while your food order will be called out by number. You can also fill your cup with your choice of fountain soda and check out the sauce bar by the pickup counter. Ambiance: It's a fun and casual place, with a welcoming vibe. They have some four-seater bench booths, plenty of tables, and bar seating by the windows. The place was clean, and I noticed the staff quickly cleaned tables as guests left. Noise level was comfortable, not too loud. Discovered the Minnie Bird via TikTok and in my opinion it was overhyped. Restaurant has a cool orange ambiance with self service kiosks that customers can use to place their orders. The food arrived pretty quickly not going to lie so that was good. I ordered the following items: - 1 Pimiento Honey Heat Sandwich Combo w/ Sea Breeze Dirty Soda - 1 Nashville Tender Combo w/ Cheese Curds and Beer Me Dirty Soda Total came out to be $38.03 which is crazy expensive for two combos! We ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the Nashville hot tenders, with two dirty sodas. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried. The spice was complemented by a hint of sweet. The fries were basic fries, not much to talk about with those. The toast that came with the tenders was a buttery slice of Texas toast that paired well with the tenders. I also loved their sauce station that had quite a few choices including in house sauces. The sodas were impressive. I've had quite a few different takes on this soda style and this one was my favorite. We ordered the Shirley temple and the Tex. The service was incredibly fast with an efficient set up from ordering to receiving your food. The ambience was clean and efficient for a crowd. I will definitely be coming back. read more
