While I'm not crazy about the texture and flavor of it, it's still an enjoyable dessert -- particularly on a warm day. The sides such as fried cheese curds and spicy fries are different. The dirty soda options also provide a ton of possibilities for social media posts and different flavor options on each visit. Service is not too slow for how busy the restaurant is, and parking isn't too difficult. The food is very good here, both in terms of flavor and texture -- and generously portioned as well. At the urging of my brother and sister-in-law, my husband and I went to Minnie Bird with them. This reminded me of Raising Cane's only with many more options. We ordered the three wrap combo and the honey glazed tender combo. For sides, we had the crinkle cut fries and cheese curds. The chicken was good and the flavors that in came in added variety to the meal. The crinkle cut fries and cheese curds were familiar yet exciting. You get a soft serve cone with your meal. You can choose from vanilla or the flavor of the month. This month's flavor was mint for March. It was ok but shouldn't be the sole reason for coming to Minnie Bird. I have been here a few times, but the last time with friends, the food was even better than I remember! We were catching up before the full calendar holiday season and no one said a word to us as we chatted away for almost four hours. (No one was going without a seat, otherwise we would have relocated!) There are few places where the price includes the entree, the sides, an unlimited fountain drink, AND a little sweet treat. The upgrade to cheese curds to share is always recommended. The sweet person at the ice cream station let me eat both vanilla AND pecan praline after she heard me pass because I am allergic to pecans. She informed me there are actually no pecans in the flavor and saw the instant regret on my face for assuming it did and put some in a cup for me to try in addition to the cone of vanilla WITH SPRINKLES (!) that I was holding. I do wish the restaurant space was bigger and wasn't surrounded by not one, but two doors that open in these Midwestern winters, but that won't stop me. The dirty sodas were created in a barista-like station with dozens of syrups to create the dirty soda. I found the honey glaze on the chicken too sweet, I liked the classic chicken tenders without the glaze. Unlike other tender places that limit you on sauces, this place really shines because of the sauce selection. We tried every sauce and each one was high quality and full of flavor. However, the regular fountain soda had good carbonation and the strawberry lemonade was loved by our 3 year old. He loves tart lemonade so this was perfect!! The combo meal is probably the best value because it comes with fries and a drink. I wanted to try the chicken too as I'm on a journey to find the best chicken sandwich but it was only okay. It was too greasy for my liking and the actual meat was kind of slimy which grossed me out. I don't think it was cooked bad but it's probably the type of chicken they use/how it's prepared. They give free icecream but it's not even the good soft serve (it's grainy and watery). It was good food. The "hot" option for the sandwich was actually hot enough to get some spice. They have dirty sodas, which I didn't try but they had A LOT! They also have FREE ice cream. the restaurant has baby changing pads in bathroom BUT the restaurant wasn't big enough for a stroller. It was also pretty packed. read more
