Consider me a fan! This joint is conveniently located just down the road from Feed My Starving…read moreChildren. It makes for a perfect post - pack hang. The food definitely stands out in terms of quality. It is most comparable to places like Canes , with the chicken/fries/toast combo. However they excel in comparison with their dirty sodas and other food offerings. The fries, cheese curds and Texas toast are all delicious snack options. Everything comes out hot and cooked to order. The portions are a good size and it all tastes fresh. The dirty sodas were a fun thing to try out. During my visits, I tried the "Toasty Marshmallow" (Mr Pibb) and the "Float On" (Barqs) . Both are sweet combinations and are fun treats. There's a lot here that makes them stand out from most fast-casual places and overall provide a quality dining experience.

In a category that I feel is saturated with lots of restaurants, and becoming increasingly…read moresaturated -- Minnie Bird stands out for me both in terms of choice and quality. Shops that offer chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fries, and similar options have become very commonplace in this area of the Chicago suburbs. Even without considering the quality of food, there's a few features that make this a hit for me. The dining room is fun, yet appropriate. The value here is great both in terms of quantity of food, and overall pricing. The ice cream that changes monthly provides a fun way to customize a periodic visit. While I'm not crazy about the texture and flavor of it, it's still an enjoyable dessert -- particularly on a warm day. The sides such as fried cheese curds and spicy fries are different. The dirty soda options also provide a ton of possibilities for social media posts and different flavor options on each visit. Service is not too slow for how busy the restaurant is, and parking isn't too difficult. The food is very good here, both in terms of flavor and texture -- and generously portioned as well. The tenders rival the best versions I've had from other dedicated chicken restaurants. Crispy with tender chicken that stands well on its own without sauces, but at the same time has a heightened experience with the quality sauces, which each have a distinct flavor profile. I also enjoyed the cole slaw and texas toast considerably, and especially the fries which were crisp and matched very well with the sauces. The same level of food quality is also present in their sandwiches and wraps, which mix the same quality components together for a delicious product.

I have to come to Fry the Coop more often. I really enjoy their chicken sandwiches. They are made…read moreto order, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. You can order different levels of spiciness. If you don't like spicy chicken, order the 1st level. It's not spicy at all. I order level 2. I've tried level 3 and it was too spicy for me. I find level 2 to be perfect, has the kick I enjoy, but not overly so and blow out my taste buds. We went when they had their $5 hot chicken sandwiches in honor of National Hot Chicken day. Not surprisingly, it was very busy. They still put out good food and EXCELLENT service. Everyone was so nice and they all handled the flow of people very well. I was so impressed. One of the managers, came around to the tables to tidy up and check in on all the guests. I have to remember to come more often!

Man sat in the drive-thru for 2.5 HOURS. I wish I was exaggerating. At some point he had already gotten his shake and drink... and then just... continued waiting another 45 minutes for the food like it was a full-time job. Now here's the crazy part, after ALL that... the chicken was still a 10/5 for me Like??? How is it THAT good even after that experience?? I can only imagine how amazing this place is on a regular, non-chaotic, why-did-you-do-this-to-yourself type of day. Because if this was a 5/5 THROUGH the drive-thru madness... I'm already sold. Moral of the story: don't be like my husband. Go on a normal day. But DEFINITELY go. Delicious!!

The staff was friendly--the owner was even out and about talking to customers! The food, which is cooked in beef tallow, was delicious. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The onion tanglers melted in my mouth. The smash burger was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The wings left a little to be desired in size and price, but the sauces they came in were delicious. Extremely hungry boyfriend ordered a 2nd burger (We split the 1st one!) and that one's patty was not as crispy and it was loaded with too many onions. The flavor was still out of this world without being too salty. Bonus points for unlimited fountain drinks! I would definitely go back, but for the "& Things," aka the burgers!

Can't say enough of the onion tanglers side too (with just a touch of lemon to keep them from being greasy? )! Can't wait to try their other dishes!
