Cod
Princess M.

I have been frequenting this place for several years now. It is a take-out chicken and seafood place with very good food. I usually order chicken or 2 piece cod fish dinners. The wings are always a good size, nicely seasoned and crisp. The cod comes in nice sized pieces, crisp coating and very nicely seasoned. My hubby LOVES their catfish (and wings too). We always order food to be prepared with lemon pepper seasoning. The dinners come with fries and coleslaw, and their cole slaw is especially good when fresh. The only reason I rate 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the service. The service is pretty good once you walk in, but over the phone, not so much. I often feel like I am bothering the person on the other line, and they just don't sound warm and welcoming over the phone (this could just be me). The biggie for me is that they are not always open during their posted times or close early. This has happened a lot over the past year. However, when they are open, the food is delicious, you get your order on time, and it is right. I definitely recommend, but call first before you go.

Catfish dinner

Service was amazing, food was well seasoned and overall a great experience! We tried the mushrooms, catfish, jumbo shrimp and coleslaw. Went in tonight around 8 with a large order for the first time and can easily say we will be back!

Alrighty then! Hub-hub and I were looking for a place for our 7th anniversary (not of marriage, but…read moreof when we first met). We chose Bonefish Grill! So, on a warm and humid evening, off we went. We were greeted warmly and seated in a booth quickly. The ambience was similar to a steakhouse- but tastefully done and not over the top. Our waiter- who appeared and acted just as though he'd aced his final waiter-exam at Bonefish- brought over a specials menu, a happy hour menu for drinks, and a regular, one-page menu. All on paper; easy to handle and clean (always a plus). I quickly ordered 3-mini-tinis (presented very fashionably - see the pic), and he brought out a mini-bread loaf with olive oil and - what appeared to be basil- dip. The only demerit here: this loaf wasn't warm and had sat around a bit. Man. I loves me bread, but it's gotta be warm. No worries - when we finished he brought out a 2nd mini-loaf - which WAS warm. Oh yay. The mini-tinis were nice- though I think the one with the floating jalapeno was - while inventive- a bit too spicy. Still, it hit the spot. Hubby ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi, while I ordered Walleye (man, I love this midwestern fish - so nice and flaky!). It came with jasmine rice and broccoli- and frankly it was awesome. Hubby also liked the scampi as well- not bad indeed! A couple quick notes- not sure I liked the uniforms for the wait staff. Just seemed too much like a hospital with a look like white smocks. Hmm. But gosh, Bonefish- is it too much to ask that you use the portable terminals so I can pay at the table without letting my credit card out of my sight? Strange, isn't it? The US invents the tech, then we never deploy it until the rest of the world uses it first (which they do, btw). Will we come again? Yes! The prices are reasonable, the portions and ample, and the ambience is just fine. But gosh- let's get the bread right by bringing out soft, warm loaves, please. That's my first impression of the meal - and it was - sorry to say - lacking a bit.

We were really disappointed with our entrées during my birthday dinner at Bonefish Grill in…read moreSchaumburg. I made a 5:30 p.m. Friday reservation, which was easy enough, and when we arrived the restaurant was about 75% full. The hostess greeted us but never asked for our reservation, though we were seated right away. John was our server, and he was great--attentive, friendly, and always on top of refills. Warm bread with olive oil and water arrived promptly, and he gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered a Fresh Margarita, a Dirty Martini, and the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was delicious, but the Margarita tasted pre‑made rather than freshly mixed. For dinner, we chose the Fish & Chips and the Scallops & Shrimp Scampi Pasta. Unfortunately, both dishes fell short. The most common causes they lose their crispiness falls into three categories: too much moisture, incorrect oil temperature, and overcrowding. The breading on the fish and the fries were not crispy at all--see photo below. I ate the first piece, but ended up removing the coating from the second and took the third home. The pasta needed much more of the white wine garlic lemon sauce; it just wasn't as flavorful as expected. We finished with the Bourbon Brownie--the only chocolate dessert on the menu--and that did deliver. Rich, warm, and satisfying. Despite the food misses, John truly elevated the experience. He checked in often, kept our water glasses full, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant had great energy, and the décor was tastefully done. Servers were dressed in white button‑down jackets and black slacks, adding a nice touch of professionalism. By the time we got up to leave, the place was absolutely hopping. Great service, great appetizer and dessert--but the entrées didn't meet expectations.

Le P'tit was the first to pop up on my feed and immediately caught my attention due to its unique menu, historic building, and secluded outdoor oasis for the fair weather seasons. When asked where I wanted to have dinner on my birthday, the answer was easy, L'ptit! We were greeted by the Chef Chopra outside, who welcomed us and asked us to choose the seat that suited us best in or outdoors. We chose a seat outside as it seemed most guests were enjoying the nice weather in the garden. Chef Chopra introduced himself and explained the complimentary montadito, and presented the current specials. We loved that he took time to ask what brought us in, and when we said that we were building a new home in Bartlett only minutes away, he shared that although he has been all over the world he always misses good old Bartlett, IL. This is the kind of connection and service you won't find at franchise restaurants! We enjoyed cocktails, myself a dirty tini with bleu cheese stuffed olives, and my husband the traditional old fashioned and the P'tit old fashioned - both of which he enjoyed. We ordered the hummus for an appetizer - my husband never orders humus. Not a drop was left. It was so flavorful, and since I am intolerant to gluten we loved that it was served with cucumber "chips". We will definitely order this again! Our entrees were both specials - mine the steak and shrimp tower and my husband's the Birria. We could t decide whose was better. The shrimp and steak were so flavorful and beautifully cooked, and the beef and consommé of my husband's was out of this world. My takeaways from Le P'tit: We will be there - regularly, before we move into our home, and after! Have a cocktail, they are fabulous. Talk to Chef Chopra any chance you get. He has seen the world and loves to see his guests enjoying his menu and the atmosphere of his establishment. This is what supporting local is about! Enjoy your time at Le P'tit. Savor. Take a moment to slow down, disconnect from the outside and connect with the ones around you and enjoy the wonderfully and thoughtfully prepared dishes on the menu. We can't wait to be back!

The grill flavor on the wedge of lettuce is superb and their dressing must be homemade... to die for!!! The beef carpaccio is also one of my favorites. Burrata and oysters were also wonderful. I love the variety of their food menu! They have steak, salmon, chicken, pork, shrimp, duck, lamb, pasta, and some really nice appetizers. We ordered the charcuterie board and thought it was the perfect size for the two of us. Not many places offer duck, so I had to order it for dinner! The duck leg comes with carrots and duck fat roasted potatoes. It was incredibly delicious and tender. The flavor of the sauce was rich and paired great with the carrots and potatoes. Only thing is I did think some of the prices were a bit high compared to some other places I've been that serve similar quality food. Our waiter was nice and provided good service overall! I think this would be a cute spot for a date night.
