Ate dinner here last night and are so excited to have a new restaurant in our area! We went with the understanding that there might be new opening wrinkles. Took about 45 minutes to get our drinks, a good 90 minutes to get our dinner and after trying to order three different wines that were on the menu only to be told they didn't have them, we settled on the only bottle them had. I had really hoped the manager would come introduce himself to our table but he never did. That's hospitality 101. We stayed a total of 3 hours which was ok with us because we were socializing. The cocktails were delish as well as the food. Not sure if the meal was worth the value but it was hot and tasty! Suggestions: 1. upgrade your wine list and make sure you have it on hand 2. Lose the Softsoap in the restrooms. Grab some lavender scented soaps in a lovely bottle. Simple but effective in raising the bar. Prices are upscale. The rest of your restaurant should follow suit. High quality paper towels were a nice touch. 3. Have management Introduce themselves to every patron. I will definitely be back. Thank you for opening in our community! read more

Service was very prompt. Had a berger here for lunch it was awesome. There are tv's in the resturant for all you sport viewing. If your a REDSINK's fan your in for a surprise. Lots of room for large parties. This is on my list when I in the area. read more

Server was great very nice and attentive, cozy on the inside, food wasn't really good the burger we got was rare when we asked for medium, the chicken panini, the chicken was over cooked, the backed Mac and cheese was amazing fries were great, the omelet was good stuffed full but the food was just not worth the price definitely not somewhere I'll hope to go again. read more

The fried zucchini appetizer was great, the Parmesan shrimp were great, Wings, steaks, desserts, all wonderful. Everyone was very happy with their meal and service. The restaurant was surprisingly slow for a Sunday so we were seated as soon as we walked in, around 12:30. We ordered our brunch around 12:45 and 50 minutes later we got our food. My drink was empty twice for several minutes before our server noticed. There was nothing special or tasty with our selections of French toast, basic eggs Benedict, fish tacos and the 1/2 pound burger. Overall, terrible service and just ok food. We've ordered a few things here and everything has been good. My particular favorites are the fried green tomatoes, battered green beans, and grits. The service is always friendly and fast. You can still see the remnants of the old Frosty Frog, but everything has been upgraded to give it a modern feel. It's an excellent addition to the area and I would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

We are very select with reviews and do not give them out haphazardly.. as you can see by our reviews on YELP, we have no problem giving out from a 1-5 star on the business and back up everything we have experienced with facts. We dine out at least several times a month and no longer need to go to Alpharetta, Roswell or downtown Canton to enjoy good food and a nice clean atmosphere. So with that said KUDOS to Dan and his entire crew for bringing an upscale restaurant nearby. We were introduced to HFK by friends in the area. We sat at the bar last night with 3 friends. The fresh food is outstanding, portions are just right, and the drink selection is excellent along with appropriate pricing! We have dined at HFK 3 times recently. Just what Hickory Flat needed!! We have visited a couple times since it opened. The Southern Burger was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! The pecan encrusted chicken salad is also incredible. We haven't found anything on the menu that we didn't enjoy! read more

Hickory Flat Kitchen, It is a great environment, Staff are OUTSTANDING from the dishwashers to the servers. My order cam out quickly i ordered the chicken arugula panini and loved it, I got a side Cesar salad, the flavor of the dressing is a bomb of amazing. I loved everything about it, the managers were walking around checking on tables, Servers taking care of customers. Chefs cooking in a very timely manner. Everyone here knows what there doing, I can tell Chris and Dan were very picky about who they hired to be employees. There employees mean business. I highly recommend coming to Hickory Flat Kitchen, excellent service, food, environment. I will be coming back for more great food. I also love that they kept the Frosty Frog cheese spread. Great food! Went on a Friday night and it was busy, so my one suggestion is that its noisy and they could use some sound proofing. I had the NY Strip and my wife had the shrimp & grits and both were fantastic. Service was just ok. Ordered a glass of wine with my entree and it never showed up, so had to have it removed at the end. Considering the missteps, I still recommend this place. So glad to have a nice place here in Hickory Flat! We'll be back. Hopefully the service will improve over time. read more

Mediocre at best. The prices do not reflect the offerings. There was nothing special about anything we ordered. The shrimp and grits was underwhelming. The beurre blanc sauce was broken and unimpressive. The shrimp was cooked fine but ordinary. The grits were ordinary too. The dish was too salty perhaps trying to make up for flavor? Glad I didn't order the scallops which were fixed similarly and twice the price. Ending ... restaurant charged a credit card fee (they waved for us because we asked), but beware. Underwhelmed.... By everything. The food was mediocre the ambiance is similar to a sports bar and the price point would have been fine if the service and food were up to par. It took over an hour to get our food and the sea bass was gross and fishy tasting. There wasn't any music playing so it was weirdly quite and looks as if they ran out of money with the decor. Service is friendly enough but SLOW. waited over an hour from being seated to food arrival. Food okay, but nothing special. What really killed it for me was an additional charge in the bill for "non-cash" payment. It was close to 4% for using a credit card. I don't know if that violates the terms of the agreement with the card issuer, but I plan to report it. Plus, it's poor form to sneak it into the bill without prior disclosure. This was a one-and-done for me. I'd recommend walking a few feet down the sidewalk to the Sidelines Grill. Update: credit card surcharges are legal in GA and require notification be posted by merchant. Suggest you look carefully (apparently I didn't) or ask server for HFK's policy. read more

We went several times last fall and early 2023. We were looking forward to a little more upscale food in Hickory Flat. Their food is ok, not great, service is ok, not great, and the ambiance is ok, not great. Nevertheless, the prices are over the top. If you are going to charge such high prices, then the food, service, and ambiance have to be top shelf. The add-on fee for using credit/debit card is insulting. We struck it from our list of Hickory Flat options. read more
