I make decent money but they didn't offer anything for my car and wanted "a large" cash down payment. Complete waste of time and humiliating too. But that's what they call an approval hence they claim they approve 100%. Joke and abusive preditors toward people experiencing financial trouble. My car came with a broken middle Consol my USB and auxiliary input did not work I contact them within the first two weeks of having my car to let them know of the issue since in their contract that states anything that's broken in the first 30 days they will fix. After going there for four hours for them to say they can't fix it they have never answered my phone calls or return my voicemails. Let alone West Lake Finacial who they use has repo my car multiple times and made mistakes about it because They didn't mean to repo it but I still have to pay a fine to get my car out. If you want a headache come to this place. Purchased a hyundai and within a year I had multiple issues. They stated, "We cannot figure out what's going on take it Hyundai in chico", then later got a call that they hired a "Hyundai specialist" he was very nice, however my car still remained to have have issues with shutting off at random moments, so nothing was resolved. I also got my car back with my trunk latch broken and they could still not provide assistance with replacing it.... I paid $200+ for my car to be fixed and I never heard back from them if I could get refunded... At this point I just needed a car. Traded in my car at West Mitsubishi and I love my new car. Be prepared to be fast talked into anything. I haven't had to buy a car in about 20 years so I wasn't prepared for anything. I have been to other used car dealers in town (Chico), and I had a completely different (better) experience. I went in to check out their inventory. You can't view it online without signing in and when you do that, they have all your info and cold call you. And I wanted to see their prices. They don't post prices of any of the cars, so it's hard to A) see how overpriced they are and B) compare prices to other similar vehicles. They say it's because "prices fluctuate" but that's not the reason. Prices don't fluctuate. Interest rates fluctuate but not prices. I wanted to see if they could give me a general idea of what my monthly payment might be. Initially she quoted me $400 - $700 as a monthly payment and then stared at me, waiting for me to react. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So then I was pushed into picking out a car to just get a quote. Pushed. Like, she walked me out into the lot and wanted me to pick out a car. Little did I know (or maybe I didn't hear her say this, she was so busy telling me how much they LOVE first time buyers and how cute my shoes were) the reason why they do that is so they can do a hard credit check. This lowers your score and - this is how they rope you in - they would "hate to see your score lowered even more when you go into other dealerships and they check your credit too". I'm giving two stars and not one because they know exactly what they're doing, and they're very good at it. And also because they advertise "We are a Dealer for the People. Our business is not selling cars." No. They are a dealer for the commission. Their business is making money. Just be prepared. Do your research, know exactly what you want, what price range you can afford based on your financial situation, ask to see prices up front, don't make a snap decision - go home, continue to research and compare, and do NOT let them fast talk you into checking your credit or leaving with a car that day. Don't sign anything unless you know what it is. And no, I didn't purchase a car from them, thank god I stuck to my guns and ended the transaction. Lord knows how many people walk out of there with a car they didn't even realize they bought. read more

I went into this dealership when i was 18 years old, just to see my options because my current car was having issues. I walked in with a 700 credit score and I was able to put 5,000$ down. I didnt have much knowledge about purchasing a vehicle prior to this, which I should have done my research. I got completely ripped off with a 18.9% APR rate and they do not have an option to lower it when I have successfully made payments on time for the past few years. This place is a complete rip off and they are not helpful in any way when you try reaching out. When finished they told me I had error codes and another bad sensor when I took my truck to the Dodge dealership not so long ago and they did service and checked sensors and codes and everything was in good condition. I've been to Hibdon Auto Sale on it $4,500 and my Honda Civic which was worth 3 Grand to get me into a car. I went to another dealership and ended up in a 2017 Jeep Renegade. Now this Jeep has become more work for me because of my diagnosis with rheumatoid arthritis. So I went back to them today being told that they wouldn't run a credit check on me until they were sure that they could get me into a car. They told me they could so I took another hard hit on my credit and lo and behold unless I had $2,000 which I told him I didn't have before they ran the credit check and the tax and license on the car I was out of luck. So now I'm driving home in tears because they lied to me. I would have never let anybody do another hard hit on my credit because I've been working on it so hard unless I was absolutely 110% sure I was able to get a car. No my credit isn't perfect but I drive for Lyft and instacart plus I have social security. So unless you have five grand in your pocket do yourself a favor go somewhere else they lie a lot! If I could have given them less than 1 * I would have guaranteed. Take your money and go somewhere else at least West Mitsubishi got me into a car. read more

Slum lords of used cars. We were interested in a truck and went in on a Saturday to check it out. While we were there, we told them what we wanted to pay a month and had them run our credit and see what the monthly payments would be with our trade in and our down payment but they weren't able to submit everything because the credit union they wanted us to go through was closed on Saturdays after sitting there for 3 HOURS. However, they told us roughly what the payment would be and interest rate which was well within what we had told them. We were told we could do a $500 refundable hold on the vehicle until they could get in touch with the credit union on Monday. Long story short, before we even heard back from them, they had cashed our check, and when we did hear back about the final price of the vehicle, it somehow ended up being $20k more than what it was on Saturday AND they wanted a higher down payment. No used vehicle should cost $800 a month, which is way more than the rough estimate they gave us previously. We had to wait 2 weeks to get our $500 and when we did go in to pick up the check, they tried to sell us the vehicle again!! We ended up purchasing almost the exact same truck in Roseville for less than what Hibdon had the truck listed for including fees/taxes/licensing. We will never recommend anyone come here and we will never consider purchasing a vehicle from them ever again. read more

Unbelievably incompetent. I tried for weeks to get specific vehicle pricing. I emailed, called and texted with one of their employees. I was told that I'd receive an e-brochure via email with car pricing, but I should just take the time to come in. After three weeks of waiting for the e-brochure, they told me they were having problems with their email, but I should just take the time drive down there. If these people cant send an email to sell a car, I have no idea why I would trust them to help me with customer service on the other end. The whole sales structure stinks of a scam. Let me start by saying to even look at their inventory you have to put your information in and then you're called everyday and texted trying to make a deal. I answered once, kind of told them what I was looking for but I went in today once I finally had a way to get there because my car has been down for a few weeks. I get there, I tell them I want to leave with a car and I'd like to talk numbers. I send Sabrina everything she had asked if me so they had everything in their hands to physically look at. They run my credit they let me know the pricing range and we continue. They tell me they're gunna run it and see if they can get an approval from a bank and it takes about 30 minutes. My roommate and I are looking at their inventory to see if anything has a price on it, which it doesn't nor does it online, but I heard that was because they work around your finances. I then hear Sabrina saying good news, I'm approved and it happened to be for the car I was looking at before I arrived. We do all of the paperwork, sign all of the loan information, set up full coverage insurance, and she says she's sending my registration and documents to the DMV. I get home about an hour later and they say the have an issue with my income after I had already signed all of the paperwork. Okay? How does that make sense, I already signed all the paperwork and left the lot. Apparently they never fucking made a deal with any bank for a loan. Where the pull the loan amounts and interest amounts is so fucking far beyond me. I put a down payment down and everything. They say they'll try to figure something out to call me 2 hours before they close and give me the option to find a co signer, put an additional $3,000 or return the car same day. Safe to say, I returned the car and then they had the audacity to make it seem like I lied to them about my income when they had physical proof of everything. Some bullshit, shady dealings. Save your time. Go to a different, well known dealer. Don't waste your day with this place. read more

Worst service ever. They don't come out to greet you. Cynthia ran my credit and told me it was good and should be able to work with me. I made it clear that I couldn't put anything down, and she explained they have a special for $6 down with good credit; which I could do today. So a few min later she comes back and tells me they have a brand new car for me to finance for $16k, at $391/mo and $2500 down. I reminded her I couldn't put that much down and the payment was high, and she tells me that was my only option, otherwise she couldn't help me and she just walked away. read more

I'm looking at car dealerships and on Craigslist for cars for my kids. I prefer seeing prices up front so I can compare them to recommended prices on sites such as Kelly Blue Book. Negotiations need a good starting point. Two types of dealerships don't get further attention from me. First, where all the used cars are the same price. Yeah, right. Second, where none of the inventory is priced. Those are two business models that I consider to be lazy and potentially deceitful. I asked Hibdon why they don't list prices and their response was that they don't want to lie. Ok, then don't. I already know what a car is worth and what I'm willing to pay for it. So don't waste my time by being elusive. I wouldn't be writing this, as they can have whatever business model they want and no one is forcing me to buy from them, but i had to enter my contact info to be able to view their unpriced inventory, and now they keep calling me despite my asking them not to on three occasions in the last two weeks. That's unnecessary and harassment. The needle just moved up on the sleezy dealership meter. Anyway, they're probably a fantastic dealership once you're on site. For those of us who judge a place on their ability to price things within reason and be transparent, and who like our personal space, there are other places to start looking. read more

In response to my past review, I went to Chico Nissan Hyundai the next day, with my fantastic credit, and got a 2 year old Certified Pre- Owned Nissan for an amazing price ($2,000 below blue book value) at 2.8% financing rate. The car has been great and the customer service at Chico Nissan is amazing, I get oil changes and all maintenance done there. SERVICE DEPARTMENT FRONT DESK NOT ORGANIZED. INCONSISTENT. CONDESCENDING. LACKS COMMUNICATION WITH THE CUSTOMER. I'd give their front desk service department negative stars if I could. A month ago I took my car in after my Catalytic converter was stolen, so this was an insurance claim.. My insurance paid me for their estimate. Hibdon auto center diagnosed my vehicle with more damages than quoted originally. So I had to file a supplement to my insurance to cover the additional damages found. Today, I took my car to a different shop. Why? Because Hibdon Auto Center only completed a diagnostic and did nothing more to my car. If I wasn't constantly trying to contact the shop for updates on my vehicle, I probably would have never heard from them. I was contacted by Bree at the front desk, maybe twice? Their reasoning for the long wait was due to lack of communication from my insurance. Well, I contacted my insurance this morning and they informed me Hibdon Auto center refused a virtual assessment (so that they could avoid sending out a live agent for COVID precautions). The virtual assessment was intended for the supplement request to cover the other damages found. ( I don't understand why they would do that if it meant a speedier process for them to get their funds? But they did it) when I picked up my car today. I had the displeasure of speaking with Steve. I don't know what his title is or what he actually does there but he's got the most condescending tone/attitude for a man his stature. He was so defensive when I asked to pick up MY car. He proceeded to pin the blame on my insurance for the long wait. Keep in mind, I called an hour before to let them know I'd be picking up my car so they were not blind sided. When I explained that I'd spoken with my insurance, he asked Bree right next to him if she had paperwork and she said she never heard back from my insurance. I offered to call my insurance agent or offered to email them but he said it wasn't necessary. He Gave me my Copy of diagnostics, receipt, and sent me on my way after I paid the diagnostic fee and signed some of the diagnostic paperwork. I want to make it clear that this is not a negative review on the actual mechanics or technicians as my car wasn't actually worked on so I can't comment on that. BUT the level of customer service in the service department at this establishment should have been MUCH better. They should have been more organized, consistent, courteous, and polite. I probably would have let them service my vehicle had things been different. To add to this detailed review, I dropped off my car at the new shop, they diagnosed, quoted and ordered my parts within 2 hours of being there. What a huge difference. Im well aware of businesses like these and small towns. So I refuse to remove this review so Hibdon Auto Center shouldn't bother asking me. There isn't anything they can do to make it right at this point. Just don't let it happen to another customer. Get your shit together please. Will NEVER buy a car here EVER or suggest them to any family or friends. Bought a car, paid in cash, AWD vehicle that seemed wonderful. Took it in to my regular tire shop to get the tires checked and was told I was sold an AWD car with mismatch tires which can cause HUGE problems down the line. Contacted the service manager Steve who seemed happy to help. After a few emails he has dropped off the face of the planet. When I persisted his offer was for me to purchase tires through Hibdon at cost...which is double the estimate I got from my local tire shop. Not only did they sell me a car with wrong tires now their solution is for me to give them MORE of my money and over pay for a set of tires? They should be replacing the entire set at no cost. I suggested we split the cost....seemed like a good compromise. They refuse. Worst experience ever! Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.... read more

Went there for a smog should have been simple. They had my vehicle for 6 hours told me they had some trouble but they figured it out great I paid and was waiting for my tags to come in from DMV. They never came... called the dmv they said they never received anything. I called Hibdon they told it it never passed and I had to bring the vehicle back. Fine, took it back after about a month and they charge me full price again... I will never deal with this place again horrible service. read more

Hibdon sucks the sales lady knew nothing about the car she was showing me. Lied about the car said it has back up camera well there is but it doesn't work I was told they would check the oil and full the gas which the car had no gas and she didnt even know how to check the oil. She also told me I didnt have to keep the full coverage on the car which you do so instead of paying the 400 a month on the car I'm actually paying 600 . There a ding in the door and four holes in the windshield. And after you drive the car off the lot they dont give two shits about helping you. I have neever had such a positive experience at a car dealership! I went in with my old car and left in the car that i had been wanting for a while! The staff was great and made myself and boyfriend feel at home. We worked with Lynn and she did a phenomenal job helping us get financed ( as well as the amazing finance girl, suzanne) What impressed me the most was that the sales manager came out and introduced himself and small talked with us for a while and not only that but him and the 2 ladies stayed almost an ENTIRE HOUR after they time they closed. love them all there and i would recommend stopping by, they make it so easy for the buyer! read more
