Got up super early was sitting there before 6 o'clock. They don't open the doors till long after six then I sat there for half an hour. Nobody else was here. This place is a joke. A lot of just walking around in there nobody seems to care ! read more

I Highly Recommend Corning auto Center for any repair your vehicle might need. I have had my Truck serviced with differential, Spring and brakes there. I have taken my mother's car in for Heater/AC work and got everything done in a matter of hours very fast service. Great price quotes and honest. The Staff in the office are very polite and I enjoy seeing them on each visit. I will refer others who need any work done to this awesome establishment. read more

My husband and I were traveling from Portland, OR to Monterey, CA when we heard this bang, then a rush of air came at us from our air blower then a scraping noise started under our car. We pulled off the highway onto an old back road and I got under the front of the car to see what the problem was (my ex was a mechanic so I know what to look for). I found the bolt that holds the aluminum splash plate that covers the oil pan had come off on one side on the front and the air pressure had sucked it out and down which caused it to scrape along the road and was a bit torn up. I figured I just needed to attach it whatever way I could to get it back in place until we found a garage the next day. I found a caribeener and some heavy duty string and my hubby tied it into the hole where the bolt came out as I'd had a hand fracture and couldn't maneuver well. The next morning we looked to see where the closest car repair place was near the Holiday Inn Express hotel where we stayed the night before and drove to Corning Auto Center. I walked in and spoke to office manager Rick and told him the problem. He immediately got his mechanic Jim to look under the car and assess the damage. Jim then proceeded to put in a new bolt and some zip ties to hold the splash plate in place so we could continue on our journey to Monterey until we got it fixed. When I went inside to pay Rick he said just a five or ten dollar tip would be enough as he didn't want to go through the process of using the debit/credit machine. I protested saying the guy who worked on our car should get paid so could I please write a check. He still insisted never mind and Martha, the other office manager said just write us a review on Yelp so I said ok, thanked them and left. This kind of good will service is what keeps bringing customers like myself back and wanting to write a five star review! If we're ever passing through Corning again and need something fixed this will definitley be our go-to place. Highly recommend! read more

My wife's car overheated on a road trip. Thankfully we were only a mile from Corning Auto Center. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue as a failed water pump and thermostat, and against the odds completed the work before they closed for the weekend so we could get back on the road. Everyone - from the ladies in the front office, to the mechanics, to the owner, who gave my family a ride to a local hotel - were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to get us back on the road as quickly as possible. Highly recommended if you're looking for friendly, honest service. read more

Fantastic service and stuff! I was on my way to WA, and my car started overheating on the freeway. I added some coolant, but the engine temperature lamp kept lit on. I called them, and they let me squeeze in between appointments. Jim did a diagnostic and found out the radiator had a big crack. They found a radiator for me, but it seemed difficult to get one and replace it before they closed the store because it was already afternoon and the radiator was away from town. But Jim even offered to stay after their closing time to make sure I could return to the road on the same day because they knew I needed to arrive in WA to start my new job in a few days. O'Reilly's Corning store staff delivered a radiator in a few hours, and the car got fixed in the evening! I appreciate all the help; this was my best experience with an auto repair shop. read more

I broke down on highway 5 at the Corning off ramp. Called AAA and then started looking for a repair shop, called Corning Auto. They let me know they closed at 6:00PM but I could tow the truck there and they would look at it in the morning. The young lady on the phone also suggested a motel close where I could spend the night. I called a bit before they opened to let them know that it was my vehicle and keys that were left. The technician got to it right away and within 2 hours my alternator was replaced and I was on my home. Fairly priced, great staff and a job well done. read more

As a former auto repair shop owner, I give this shop the highest rating. I broke down Saturday afternoon on Highway 5. They took in my van and trailer first thing Monday morning, ordered the part immediately and did the repairs the moment the part arrived the filling day. They stored my trailer filled with antique clocks inside their shop. A plus 5 rating. read more

Came in today worried because my car is not running well. Im visiting corning CA today and I was in need of a shop to fix my car because I need to get back to Richmond CA. It's a long drive. I go inside and they took me in. Had paper work ready to sign and all. As soon as I ask them if they are reliable for any damages paint wise or interior. They lady ask me "what do you mean? Like suspension wise?" And I said no like cosmetics damages. Later the she leaves the room and I hear her telling her manager and a tech that I said this and that. Later the manager refuses the service and tells me "that's ridiculous" How is it ridiculous that I worry about my things I work hard for and worry about damage. I had bad experience and I keep my mouth shut but this was the last straw. I really the owner sees this and takes the time to sit down and talk to employees and show them some respect and to be humble. But thank God i left because I saw the other reviews and there you can see the reviews other customers have gave. read more

Corning Auto Center - Front office - Auto Repair Near Me - Corning, California

Great auto repair shop! Taking a car into a shop is always scary because you never know if you're getting taken advantage of. Not at this place! I was treated like family. They went out of their way to make sure my Van was fixed in time to catch my flight. Great repair job, and great prices. Don't look elsewhere, go here! read more

Poor customer service by the front desk female staff, rude rude rude. No greeting rude tone, no eye contact, unprofessional. Learn some people skills. Small town folks with bad manners, it's a shame. Wont return to this place. Since they are not practicing any pandemic precautions , and I am wearing a mask, I feel they might have been rude because I was practicing safe measures if mask wearing and they have political posts all around against it. read more

Took my car to get my A/C fixed. You would think that after about seven times they would actually find what the problem is, nope. My A/C is still not working and my dashboard rattles. About $400 dollars that went to the trash basically. read more

Such good service and amazing individuals . My family and I were on our way home from a Oregon and our car started making a scraping noise . It sounded like it was coming from the back of the car , like one of the rear tires . So we stopped at Corning to make sure that it wasn't serious . Rick and Joaquin checked the car right away to make sure that it was good to go . One of the best experience I had with auto shops . read more

Our car was making noises so we stopped here, luckily only because it was the closest place with good reviews. But we SUPER lucked out. They fixed our issue in about 2 hours and while we waited, they drove us down the street so we could wait at a restaurant. They're so amazing. It's a good place to keep in mind if you're driving on the 5. If we lived closer, I'd love to have them as our regular mechanic. read more

They were rude just because I made sure nothing happened to my car and said they denied my service. Not professional at all.

Corning Auto is professional, honest, and accommodating. They exceed in that far above the others in the area.

My family (husband, 3 year old, dog, and myself) were driving from Modesto back home to Portland when we broke down in Corning. Corning Auto Center was the nearest shop to us and we didn't even realize how blessed we were for that. The individuals that work here are some of the kindest souls I've ever come across. They took us in 30 min before close, but not before helping us find a place to stay and getting my dog some water. They shuttled us to super8 to get some rest and gave us a recommendation for food in the area. Corning Auto let us know first thing in the morning the news on our car. The gals in the office also did due diligence on our behalf and even called Hyundai to check out our warranty. While it wasn't great news for us and our vehicle's state.. they did above and beyond to help get our family home ASAP. Long story short I can never tell them how thankful we are for them and grateful to have met them. I feel as though they were so welcoming, if we ever came thru that area again anytime, we could stop in and say hello and be greeted with the same kindness. Thank you all! read more

This is the place to take your older vehicle. I love the way they treat my 1976 GMC.

Only reason I'm rating 1 star is because it wont let me give it a -1. Mechanics don't have a clue to what their doing.. All i can say is It never pays to cheat people. Do your fucking job RIGHT or don't do anything at all. Unexperienced Mechanics & a rude receptionist is ALL you'll find HERE folks!! read more

I'm traveling on a 146 mile trip I was concerned about my lugs being torqued properly because I don't usually use this card for travel . Stopped in and asked a price to just torque my wheels. Driving and horrendous sounds from front end of truck. Needed to find a repair facility in Corning Ca. Found Corning auto center. Friday And they were fully booked. Rick rearranged schedule to accommodate the repair, so I could celebrate brother in law's 78 birthday party. All the staff were extremely helpful in making it happen. Ed arranged for parts from Sacramento, to repair vehicle explained entire process and were absolutely the best. Spent 5 hours in total. Repair went well. Got us on the road. AWESOME!!! read more

Had a check engine light come on traveling back home. No one from Sacramento to Redding was willing to stay open long enough to check the codes. Rick was on his way out the door, but was the only person willing to wait for me to come by. And he didn't charge and reset the codes! That is the epitome of customer service. read more

Awesome customer service. Got stuck at Safeway on our way home (radiator fluid leaked everywhere). Took the Ford Explorer here the next day and they did a great job. Great place to take your car. I was referred by a friend. Byron Lemmon. I drove from Redding. Honest company!!

Thank you to Nick and his crew for saving our trip!! Fixed a flat and got us back rolling!

Wow! Talk about customer service! This place was great. We were heading to Oregon in June for a weekend family vacation and our car broke down about 10 miles on the highway from Corning. I called them and we had our car towed to them. They fixed our car right away and even came and picked some of our family members up with their own vehicle since the towing company could only accommodate two passengers. They fixed the car very quickly and made sure we were comfortable while they worked on it. They even dropped us off at a nearby location to eat while they fixed our car. They were knowledgable, friendly and I felt they really went out of their way to help us. They didn't charge an arm and a leg either. Very reasonable and fair! This place totally saved our weekend and I highly recommend them. read more

Dropped flashlight in engine compartment...went here and they hooked me up. Good peeps. Thanks a bunch!

I highly recommend this place. Very honest, nice, competent, helpful people. My partner and I are on a road trip and stopped by because our camper van was making what we thought was a subtly odd noise. The owner took it for a drive and when he came back he didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary for a '94. He checked out the engine, the fluids, gave me a few tips on future maintenance and didn't charge a dime! Van has been running great. If you want to avoid that feeling in your stomach that an auto place is going to screw you over, then come here! Super laid back, honest people running this spot and they didn't try and "sell" me on anything unnecessary which was very refreshing. Thanks again guys!! read more

This is the best and most reasonable auto repair shop in town. And I have tried the others!. Their prices are reasonable and they always explain to me what is needed and why, and the cost and why? As well as, any alternatives. They also do a check of the vehicle each time I bring it in, to let me know what condition the brakes, the fluids, and major components are in; and that is great to know for the future. If needed they can provide transportation to and from your local work or home place. Or you can wait with a great cup o coffee! I can always count on them to do a great job, to keep me informed, to answer my questions, and to do professional work. on a cost effective basis each time I need help. That's why I've stayed with them for 15 years. read more

Ending an awesome vacation at Lake Shasta and on my way home caravaning with 2 other cars (Family and Friends) when my car started to overheat. Thought the worst...Thermostat...Pump, added coolant but apparently not enough. Sent the group home, it was a Sunday so nothing was open. Stayed overnight, Corning Auto looked at it first thing Monday morning. They tested all the components and added even more coolant. Come to find out i didn't add ENOUGH coolant. They did find a small leak though in the radiator. They did the diagnostic and said "No Charge", Martha even shared her M&M's! Very honest and nice people, couldn't take your car to a better place. I would give more stars but they only allow 5! read more

The only reason I give this place one star is for the rude person that works behind the counter I believe her name is Martha not only is she rude but also likes to bump up the prices on the parts when you can get them way cheaper at a different store so if you do take your car to get work on make sure you find out how much the part cost you if you were to buy it yourself somewhere else. read more
