HiTech had to track my problem down. I had codes, flashing engine light to steady...only took a couple days and they had it fixed. Wrong spark plugs and wires and ignition coil cracked. Our 3500 2015 RAM was overheating on our return trip to Oregon from Bodega Bay,California . We made it to the Rolling Hills RV Park ( a great place ) This was Sunday evening ,Monday morning at 9 am I drive the truck to Hi-Tech ( after checking YELP) ...the service manager , I think Bryson , listened to my description of the problem ..he almost immediately had one of his techs on it . He started looking for obvious problems first ,visable leaks ,faulty thermostat and water pump . All those looked ok so they ran a pressure check . They were thinking either an EGR reservoir issue ( fairly reasonable fix ) or a head gasket issue ( very expensive fix )! Within 1/2 hour of me driving in they determined it was the EGR . Bryson ordered parts and promised me they'd be in by Wednesday...he was wrong ..he called me at 1130 on Tuesday ,.the part arrived that morning and they had installed and road tested and I could pick it up ( they had a driver pick me up at the RV Park We were on our way a day early and they were also a couple of hundred dollars under the estimate they'd given us We were treated with total respect the whole time . They also found a few problems that wouldn't affect our trip but should be looked at when we got home Too many shops would take advantage of travelers , charging extra for expedited work and shipping as well as trying to "upsell" services ! These guys are HEAVEN SENT! Honest, kind, and knowledgeable! We had just started our journey to move out of state when our truck sprung an oil leak. We found Hi Tech 30 minutes before they were going to close shop and they were so kind hearted to take a look and ensure us we would be on the road in the best condition by the next morning (as they had to go get the replacement seal). I had taken my car to a different mechanic and had a slightly used engine put in. Unfortunately it was not done correctly and they would not stand behind the engine they bought or the work they did and told me it was ok to drive it--never telling me the truth. $8500 dollars later, i cannot drive it. I took it to Hi-Tech for a second opinion. I was educated. If i had only known what Hi-Tech told me about this engine, i would never have had it put in. I do not wrench on cars myself and It needs more work now. Not only did he educate me but he gave me realistic options. We needed a major overhaul of the front end on our 2006 Chevy Silverado with the Duramax diesel. This repair job had been planned in advance with Hi-Tech, along with scheduled maintenance. Be sure to get the "multi-point " inspection - they will spot problems ahead of becoming real problems. There are not enough good things to say. Ive been an auto tech for the better part of 10 years. My truck started leaking oil and smoking on our way to Alaska. We called 30 minutes before they closed and they cleared time to look at it and let us know if they had access to the part it would have been done on the spot. No run around, straight to the point and very heart felt professionalism, and care. Due to the delay they recommend a good hotel, picked up the part an hour away on the way in and had me back on the road before 10am.
