awful experience. got there at appointment time. no one at front desk for almost 1/2 hour.brought my car in for AC not working. they are so quick to do a full inspection on the car. so to add more cost to your bill. mechanic couldn't even get the dipstick out. and listed it on the huge costly invoice after their (inspection). 1500 to replace compressor and egi valve. pushed it out the door and said fixed. picked it up drove it home. no AC. brought it back. they said it has a leak. when they did AC they took out a full tank of Freon. so it was not leaking when brought in. excuse I got was It's a European car. we can replace condenser $1100. might not fix the problem won't be back and be careful. read more

i've went to tedious twice,for my car under my dads name this place charged me over 2 thousand for a 500 clutch kit and didn't even replace the clutch master cylinder that they ended up quoting me another almost thousand for. i doubt they replaced the clutch slave cylinder. went through a quote for the head gasket and they quoted 300 dollars in head bolts that cost FOUR DOLLARS A PIECE i can confidently say this place has hosed me and will not get another cent from me read more

Went to get an oil change and somehow someone who works there damaged our car. We've been fighting for over a month now trying to get our car fixed at a different shop. The manager is strait out rude, hung up on me acting like a little kid. Just straight up bad customer service. Definitely not doing business with them again. So I took the kids to the lake and then thought I'd tie our inflatable watermelon raft to the top of the car and drive home. You can see where this is going, right? My 11 year old clearly had a better grasp of real time physics than her mom, because she told not to do it. Did I take her wise advice? No, no I did not. Somwhere around mile three, the whole thing lifted off the top of the roof fo the car and broke off the rear view mirror which I'd used in part to tie it down. I pulled over, partially deflated the watermelon and limped home, feeling personally much more deflated than the blasted raft. Not only is it illegal, I HATE driving around without a rear view mirror so I was at Tedious Repairs the very next day, expecting to have to wait for parts, then pay for labor, I was bracing myself for s multi hundred dollar quote.. I mean it looked like I'd trashed the interior roof of my adorable FIAT. Buddy, who owns and runs Tedious Repairs, gave me this look, then said ... give me a minute. He took the four different pieces (one attahed to the roof of the car, the others not) and moved things around like a jigsaw puzzle until he clicked everything together and -- bam. Like new. Took a 15 year old Jeep wrangler in for a few different services, and to check on a rattling. I think my favorite aspect of Tedious Repairs is their awesome communication all along the way. I contacted them earlier in the week, and they keep the communication channel open while they were scheduling my appointment, which occurred on the Friday of that week. They communicated all along the way during my repairs, requesting approval to fix anything, with pictures attached. Super cool people and a great option for a mechanic, especially if you're not a 'car person'. I've brought all my vehicles here since moving back from the East Coast 8 years ago. I am a big time car guy and the guys at Tedious have worked on I think 8 of my vehicles at this point. Aside from them being able to work on ANYTHING, I really appreciate the top of line tech and services they provide. Their invoices include pages of details, photos, explanations of what you are looking at, what it will take to fix, how much the part is and how much the labor will be. They even include the part numbers so you can verify for yourself. They break down everything they find into a chart that shows what needs to be done ASAP to prevent further damage or ensure safety, and what can be done later, or not at all. Their system stores all of this data so you never have to go through explaining anything again which is nice when you want to do repairs over time. They are also extremely flexible with pick up and drop off times, you can even get your vehicle after hours (which is huge when you work late). On top of all of this, it is a family business and they really make you feel like you are dealing with family, not some scummy dealership. I have never found a shop I trust more. read more

Horrible and shady business. I took my car in with transmission issues. Agreed to a $150 diagnostic understanding that if I didn't have it repaired there that is what I would pay. The diagnostic didn't show anything so I agreed to a $500 transmission service. After the service was SUPPOSEDLY performed I was sent an estimate for a $7,000 transmission replacement. Evidently the $150 diagnostic revealed nothing but the $500 service revealed a broken transmission. I was left to pay $500 for service to a transmission that has to be replaced. I was charged $500 to pick my car up in the same broken condition I gave it to them in. That's just wrong. Go ANYWHERE but here. read more

My Honda CR-V's air conditioning stopped working and it was making a hideous squeaking noise. Called up Tedious Repairs to see when they could take my car. Called on a Friday and dropped my car off on a Monday. He ended up keeping my car for a week and giving me daily updates. My AC unit was compromised by the previous car owner and the AC computer was even broken! He repaired it all for a super reasonable cost and with a great attitude. It's been a couple months now and the AC unit is still doing great. Love it in this hundred plus degree weather! I really appreciated all the texting and photos of what was going on with my car while it was in his shop. 10/10 would recommend. The only issue I had was their initial diagnosis and estimate of the issue was very expensive and recommended to replace major components of the exhaust system. Luckily I understood the issue and asked them to begin with the smaller/least expensive approach first (replace sensors) and continue from there, and that did solve the issue. These guys are the best hands-down, I took my vehicle to two other places in town. They said they fixed the issue but they didn't. They could not locate what was wrong with the truck and ended up fixing else that was possibly a problem, a temporary fix. Truck broke down on me next day.
