As of Friday, August 6, 2010 the certified demand letter that I sent to Mr. Jeffries on Friday, July 23, 2010 was refused at 12:10 p.m. and is being returned to me. I have contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair (the licensing agency) and since found out that Accurate Auto is a NAPA AutoCare affiliated service station. I have notified them of Accurate Auto's rather unsavory business practices, negligence, and unsettled situation with the recovery of expenses I incurred. Furthermore, negative postings are appearing on Craig's List under Chico (general community), RipOff Reports' website, and can be found under the August 7, 2010 posting at http://ejourn.net/journal It has come to my attention the business is now listed as owned by Michelle Jeffries, Rob's wife. The negative feedback I posted at their Facebook business page was removed, however, for your viewing pleasure, I have uploaded a picture here along with pictures of the belts they should have replaced and had they done so, none of this would be happening. Mike is really nice and helpful. Trustworthy and honest. I was in and out of the shop really fast.

Short version - great guys helping out a stranger. Long version - I came into Chico on a business roadshow in a 1970 Coupe de Ville with a dipstick broken by a oil change place in Seattle. These guys were recommended by another station. I asked if they could see if the dipstick tube was removable to pull out the broken piece. They put it on the rack and tried for a half hour but decided that the project needed more time. Cadillac built it so you have to take off the manifold to get it out. I was on a tight schedule so I said it would have to wait until we got back home. Since they couldn't finish the job THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR THE ATTEMPT! I offered to pay for the two guys but they said "No, they didn't do the job". Wow! How often does that happen? Summary - great guys. I wished I lived here to have them do all my work. read more

We have been going to Mike's accurate auto for over 10 years. He and his employees are very honest, friendly, and give great service. An example of honesty is one time the estimate was much higher than what we actually paid because what they thought was wrong was not wrong, so they didn't have to do that work. Hands down the nicest experience I have ever had at a mechanic shop. The guys working were so incredibly helpful I couldn't ask for more. So here's why : I came up to visit my best friend in Chico. I live in Southern California and drove 550+ miles in my old beat up Honda Civic. On my way home, barely 60 miles in on my voyage, my car started to overheat and I immediately had it towed back to Chico. I took it to these guys at Accurate Auto the next day, and they came highly recommended by a mechanic friend that didn't have time to look at my car. They said they would check out why it was over heating and needed it for a couple hours- no problem, any shop would say that, especially since they already had a few cars being worked on at the time. They had me sign a paper saying what I agreed to have them check out, it literally said "check for overheating", and an estimate of $0.00. (WOW- no one in SoCal charges absolutely NOTHING to look at your vehicle.) I get a call about 3 hours later and the mechanic said they did not find anything wrong with my car. They ran smog diagnostic checks to ensure my head gasket wasn't blown, checked the entire system for leaks or cracks in all the hoses and my radiator, checked the belts, fan, and ensured the water pump was working- nothing wrong. I was so glad to hear that nothing was wrong and the probable cause was due to low coolant and the 104 degree heat. So I came to pick up my car about an hour or so later and the mechanic told me the same thing as he did over the phone. He also said he let it run for 45+ minutes to see if it would overheat again, and still nothing. I told him how thankful I was that he looked and inspected my car for any possibility of it overheating again, especially since I live so far away. When I asked how much I owed him, he said nothing. I asked, "Seriously?!?" And he responded by saying "Well I couldn't find anything wrong with your car, how could I charge you for that?" I was completely in awe. I nearly cried because you cannot find that kind of kindness these days. I was scared that being a young female in an auto shop I would get taken advantage of and have them tell me various other things that needed to be done for a pretty penny, but nope, not with Accurate Auto! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place, because not only are they friendly, but they're HONEST. I could not have gotten this high quality of service back home where I live, and I appreciate this SO much. I was looking to pay anywhere from $40-$125 for this service, running tests and whatnot (a normal price for this kind of service in SoCal), but I walked away with peace of mind and a thankful heart for the people that run this business. By the way- I made it home safely, and the car ran perfectly. Not one sign of overheating. I can only thank the wonderful people of Accurate Auto for this peace of mind. Full service repair shop, but be prepared to pay top dollar for everything. Example: Brought our car in for extensive work and in addition asked owner to see what the problem was on a dashboard light. The original work was several hundred dollars plus an additonal one hour "diagnosis" of the light problem. No written estimate of charge to repair it, just an additonal $90 tacked on to the bill. Later that week we had repair work at another shop and the mechanic, looked at the light and told us just what Accurate said, but didn't charge us for an hour of time. Also our experience is that you have to leave the car before getting an estimate of the work by phone. At least with dealships you get an estimate before you leave the car. read more

Always gets me in quickly, most times same day service for all my vehicles for smog appointments. Most times smog is done in 30-45 minutes and I have my vehicle back & on the road. I will always go here for smog! Friendly staff too. read more

I needed a new set of tires. They were able to have the tires in the shop the next day. The tires ended up being a reasonable price. I like the lifetime rotation deal included. Steve advised that I only had a little life left in my brake pads. read more

Mike at Accurate Auto is the absolute best! My company sends our fleet of cars to him (that should speak for itself) so I started taking my Honda Civic to him for all services. I now have an Audi that he doesn't work on but I called him concerned when my check engine light recently came on and he was adamant that I bring it in for him to at least pull the code and help give me an idea of where to go from there. He did this at no charge of course and then referred me to someone who could do the repairs that was affordable and trustworthy. On top of that my mom brought her Lexus in and was not sure what was wrong and he tirelessly worked for 3 days to determine what the issue was. Diagnosed it and when she went to pick it up he refused to charge her a penny. He wanted her to get a second opinion to be sure and recommended her to someone who confirmed exactly what he said. He is an honest, hardworking mechanic and that's so hard to find these days. Chico you can send your car here with peace of mind! read more

I had a great experence here. My car starrted smoking on a friday around 4.00 pm , I was leaving town and didnt know what to do. I pulled into the first repair place I saw. They were about to close. They put my car on the rack and found a l oose oil filter. They didnt want to even Charge me but I insisted that they did. I would recomend them. read more
