DO NOT GO HERE. They failed me on a smog test because they assumed a evap hose was replaced with a heater hose even though it looked identical to a OEM hose. They used chat GPT to look up the part number on the hose because they couldn't find it anywhere. Went to another smog shop and they passed me no problem. My son took his car here to get his oil changed. Explicitly asked that no other work be done without first speaking with him and yet when he got an update was told that a few filters had to be changed and that they went ahead and changed them. I don't appreciate this way of operating. Regardless of whether or not the vehicle needed said filters replaced, their customer specifically asked to be first notified before doing any other work on the car. I don't think it's right that they went ahead and did the work and then charged for the work without compromise. So now an oil change came out to be $225. Not ok. Felt a little like they took advantage of the situation and no one wants to patronize a business that's out to do that. Very disappointed. read more

I am giving this rating and I never give out ratings. The front desk is understaffed and I had to wait through 5 phone calls scheduling appointments before he finally swiped my card. On top of that- when I walked to my car parked far behind the parking lot alongside the train tracks - the window was wide open and the door unlocked. So, as you can see, I have a review from 2008 and 2009, and I would like to update with another review once again. In 2008, this place replaced the timing belt, water pump, and other components on my 1996 Toyota Corolla. In 2013, I still had the Corolla and it was running like new, but I sold it with 240,000 miles on it for $1,300.00 about three weeks ago. I then upgraded to a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, which I purchased at 63,xxx miles. The owners manual said to have the belt changed and/or inspected at 60,000 miles for "severe driving" or at 90,000 for commuter travel. Well, I don't know what the previous owner did with the car, so to be safe, I took my car back to Autometrics for a second time to have the timing belt, water pump, and drive belts replaced. This is after making an appointment at another mechanic at 9th & Ivy - I wont say the name because I don't want to bash anyone - but I pulled into THAT shop, and after seeing the condition it was in, decided I would go back to AutoMetrics where I know I had great results before. Anywho, the mechanic I made the appointment with told me to wait until later to replace the belt, but I explained to him that I didn't want to take any chances, so they fit me into the appointment book the next day. Today, I brought my car in at 8:00am, let them know that I wanted the timing belt and water pump replaced, along with any other components and belts, and was told I would have my car back at 3:30. They also flushed and replaced my transmission fluid for $90.00, which I was planning on having done at Midas with their $90.00 coupon from the Chico Yellow Book. The gentleman who owns the shop is very friendly and explained everything that needed to be done. As promised, when I was off at 4:00pm I went back to the shop and my car was ready for me. I will update this review if anything goes wrong - they do provide a 90 day/4,000 mile guarantee on their labor, so that is something to be aware of when you call to make an appointment. Labor, according to the sign in the shop, is at $90.00 an hour, so that might be good to know, too. Also, I would like to point out that about a year and a half ago, my sisters car brakes went out and since she lived at Craig Student Living down the street, I made arrangements for her to have the brakes repaired here as well. I did notice that there are a few people here who have had "bad" experiences, but I wanted to update this review to show that I have been here for the third time now for major repairs, and I would recommend this shop to anyone. Again, the guarantee on labor is for 90 days or 4,000 miles, so as long as everything stays in place until then, I am sure you'll be fine coming here. read more

Kevin & Jeff were helpful & kind when I brought my new (to me) Prius C in. I learned that unlike my Honda which tells me the percentage of miles I have left until I need an oil change, the Prius C simply says "Maintenance Required" when you need an oil change. A friend explained that it is important to make sure the fan to the battery is clear to help extend the life of the battery so I got that done as well. It's a little pricey (under $200), but it extends the life of the battery which can cost around $4500, so it's worth the investment! Jeff explained that should be checked & cleared about every 50,000 miles. Overall, I had a good experience at Autometrics. They were very polite & respectful. Thanks guys! read more

A few days later magically the car cannot start due to a blown fuse for the stop light and transmission. When i call them of course its completely unrelated and it could not be anything they did. They put in an air conditioner in my 2006 Honda Civic back in 2013. I was having trouble with cooling and took it back to them. They found a lot of debris in front of the condenser and radiator. We have intended to write a review each time we go here, which with 4 cars in our family has been several times in the past year. My husband fixes most issues with our cars, but sometimes there are days where either he doesn't have the tools or in the case of our Subaru, a specialist is needed. Most recently what I thought was my transmission mount was making a horrid noise each time it shifted, so we took the car in. Fortunately, it was only one of the motor mounts, and the repair was done in a day for less than $200. I recommend these guys to anyone, as they are honest and reliable, and treat me with respect.
