got an oil change here... Went to Subaru for an unrelated issue... Subaru took pictures of an incorrectly installed oil gasket and repaired... Reached out to the owner with the information and requested a refund... Owner blamed me and refused to refund my money... now I have to go to court for their lack of proper installation that could've been VERY costly if not caught. I had a great experience there - wish they did tire rotations but overall had a nice helpful person suggest a few things and wasn't pushy about it. Little pricy and wish I could have found a coupon but my truck also takes more oil than most so that drove the price up a little!! Thanks for the oil change I will probably be back! read more

I've been going here since moving to Chico over 7yrs. ago. Overall they've been great! I usually sit in the car and wait and watch as sometimes an attendant will leave caps off the tires or mark off something as done, when I saw they didn't do it. Those have been rare though. When a lieing, cheating, ##### mechanic in town damaged my engine and I noticed leaking on my garage floor and I was afraid to drive it too far, I called Lube Express and explained my concern. The owner, Charles told me to bring it in and they'd check it, which they did and told me what was wrong. They couldn't fix it so I took it to another mechanic. Most of the young men working here are polite, attentive and professional and I appreciate that! read more

Came in to get an oil change as a repair shop recommended I get one soon. The wait was no more than 5 minutes and the service took about 15 or so. I love being able to sit in my car while they get it done! The technicians were all very friendly and thorough. They replaced my air filter, topped off all fluids, and washed my windshields too! I just had the displeasure of going to Lube Express for an oil change. I brought my own oil but was told they only credit $3.00 so the oil change is almost full price. Sergio told me if I didn't like it I should go to Valero down the street for a $20 oil change. I opted to stay the course and had them change my oil. But, Sergio sure could use a course on customer service skills, very rude and arrogant. The only reason I stayed was the young man at the desk who wrote me up, kind and professional. Needless to say I will never to back to this establishment and I would definitely never recommend Lube Express in Chico to anyone. read more

The Owner Charles was very helpful giving me advice on what tool I needed if I wanted to do the oil change by myself next time. Which will definitely help, and appreciate it. My boyfriend and I have been going here for years. We moved away for awhile, and when coming back after a couple years they claimed they had never done his truck before. They said because he had a skid plate it would make too much of a mess, and they have never done trucks with skid plates. They said no one under his last name was in the system, which is a lie because his whole family goes there. I have gone to this location for almost 18 years. The people are always friendly and kind. Service tends to be fast. However since the law changed that they cant tell people to get oil every 3000 miles the cost of the oil change has become unbearable. 89.00 to change oil on a Toyota Prius seems like a scam. I expected and have paid that on my truck because it is older and it takes more oil. Reading the other 1 star reviews now has me questioning the work Ive had done in the past. Sorry guys. Well I just changed my own oil yesterday and found a 3 inch filter in place of the 6 inch filter the my 07 Toyota Tundra requires! I even brought my own 6 inch filter in when the last oil change was done and the folks there told me it was crap! ( Fram ) Well, I guess not having a oil filter in my truck is better? WTF!!! Oh, by the way Toyota tundras don't use a canister filter, the filter media is installed into the trucks filter cartridge holder. I've been going to lube express for years, I bring my wife's BMW there, My Daughter's toyota Camry there. I have always brought my own oil Royal Purple which is the best in my opinion. Now I find out there hasn't been an oil filter in my truck for YEARS.. I'm Completely INCENSED! Honest! I THink Not, Sure the folks are nice...But the damage to my truck engine. Recently took my classic Cadillac in for an oil change, as I have done multiple times in the past, with multiple vehicles. Once the oil change is complete, my oil meter quality will read 99%. A few days later I went to check my oil meter and it read 68%, which was the same percentage that it was when I initially took the vehicle in. I had only driven a total of 10 miles since the oil change and there was, nor has there ever been, a leak of any kind. I took the vehicle back, spoke to an employee, who claimed he was in charge (no manager or owner available), explained the whole situation to him and he basically told me I was a liar and didn't understand my vehicle. Again, this is a classic car, so I know this car from one end to the other. I went on to tell him that maybe he was in no position to be in charge and he even agreed with me (odd). There was NO resolution presented to me, only a complete brush off. I was told to come back on Monday to speak to the owner, which I plan on doing because he refused to even give me names or numbers of those in charge. Terrible Customer Service in all areas of this transaction. After all these years, I now will NEVER go back here to have them touch another one of my vehicles! read more
