I needed a quick turn around on an oil change. They did that. However, I'm not an idiot when it comes to cars but I felt taken advantage of after having to take my car into the shop for another issue. Jiffy Lube on Notre Dame showed me my air filter and it was dirty so I told them to go ahead and replace it. Guess what, they forgot to put the new one in. :( They also convinced me that I needed a new oil drain plug. They replaced the Ford factory plug (5 years old) with a janky new one. I've been taking my cars here for fluids for decades with no complaints. (MUCH faster and nicer than the dealership, where I was getting free oil changes but it was taking forever for an "express" oil change). I recently had a problem develop after a battery change here, which turned out to be a minor issue, but I had to spend some money to ascertain that. I wrote Bryan to explain my problem and included the bill I paid to resolve it. SO surprised and happy that he not only responded, but credited me for what I had spent. I really didn't expect much response at all, which is why I had resolved the matter elsewhere. He suggested if I had called him, he would have sent someone out to me to fix the problem. Honestly, it never occurred to me. Who does that? Bryan's response went a long way toward re-establishing my confidence in their services beyond simple oil changes. And anyway, they are always professional and friendly and fast at a fair price. Beats the "free" oil change schemes for sure. read more

This is the second time we've been to this Jiffy Lube. The first time was nice and quick. This time we went as the first step in diagnosing an unknown issue. We were in the waiting room and heard them discussing something about our car when Cody came in and said that our oils looked great and it doesn't need an oil change. He even said " We don't want you to waste your money if you don't need one" I was so greatful that this business didn't just take our money, they certainly could have just done the oil change as asked. Terrible. Was greeted by the most unhappy looking man and when it came to checking out he was so rude.

When I first got there, there was a very nice gentleman who asked me a bunch of questions. Very nice and reassuring. The second person who helped me at the register, and extremely rude. He did not explain anything of what happened to my car, just that they changed the oil and vacuumed it. (I had asked them to top off my coolant etc. check tires) he asked me for my info and my address, I asked "did you want my physical or mailing address" he spoke to me like I was an idiot and said " you address, what is a mailing address, what's your address?" I explained to him that I live in a very rural area and I don't get mail to my house, so I have a P.O. Box. He cut me off and said "just give me your address, whatever address you want on the system, just give me an address". Given his age, (over 40+ years old) I know he knows what a mailing address is. Especially in his line of work, where he asked for addresses often. He made me feel like an idiot in-front of other customers. Even *if he didn't not know what a "mailing address" is, he should have asked me in a totally different way. I will not be returning to this location, for the sole reason of this guy read more

This has been my go to Jiffy Lube for the decade I've lived in Chico. Recently moved & had to use another jiffy lube. Following my experience at a different location, my car had been making a really bad grinding noise. I opened my hood but nothing made sense. I found myself in Chico & took it the Notre Dame Jiffy Lube to see if anything has been done wrong at the last one. One of the rubber seals as not placed back correctly hitting (the fan?) idk car terms. They were sooo nice and helpful and solved an issue that l had been causing me a ton of anxiety! read more

I wish I could give no star, my van started leaking after an oil change and twice I had them look at it with no efficient help. The first time the guy said someone didn't clean out the filter, so he gave it a good spray and sent me on my way. After that it was still leaking so I went back in and the owner looked at it saying it was nothing on them, that the gasket was worn out. When I went to change the gasket, my mechanic said it's fine and that my filter was leaking and damaged! The same filter that the first guy told me about and the second assured me was fine. I'm not going in a third time or ever again. I don't suggest you wast your time or money here. read more

Came in for an oil change, checked in and approved the estimate and work needed. Left for lunch, when I returned the oil change was complete. While going over the bill, the guy behind the counter ran out to the shop and came back. He told me they needed to replace my drain plug (my truck uses a strange drain plug, not the typical plug). He then added it to my bill. Asked why, he told me that Ford REQUIRES it. I worked in the auto service business for almost 25 years, I had never heard of that. I question him again, he backed it up, yes they require it. I repeated I had never heard of it, and they never mentioned it when they went over the estimate. He said that he would take it off the invoice and that I was no longer welcome there. I asked him who the owner was, he stated he was and that again, I was no longer welcome there. I paid my bill and left. After I left, I called the Ford dealership down the street, asked them if it was required, NOPE... Called a friend who works at another Ford store, NOPE, not required by Ford. Now, I understand if they have had issues with this plug and they want to require it as Jiffy Lube, but you lied to me and told me Ford required it, that is simply a LIE! read more

Standard oil change service. Very friendly staff. Of course, they recommend other services but are not pushy. They did find a brake light out which they changed for $10. I have been here several times and and can always find a coupon on there website. Today, it is $5 off. The lobby is nice and comfy. Overall, smooth experience. About a month ago (10/17) I came here in the morning for an oil change/service. It just had opened up and was not busy at all. Fast forward to today: 11/19/17. My oil service light light up. I checked my dip stick and there was no oil on the stick!! No I did not take road trips to the bay or SoCal or Oregon. I basically go to work and come home. Do occasional errands and things like that but nothing that warrants needing another oil change only after a month. If you want to change your oil everyone month, go here. I had a problem with my vehicle 3 days after a service. The problem was NOT due to anything they did or did not do, which is what my normal mechanic place said. I went back to them to ask, they had me bring the car in, and they got me fixed and back out without laying the same incorrect blame the other place told me. Probably the best fast auto maintenance service in Chico for two reasons: 1) They do the work well and promptly and 2) They tell you of needed manufacturers recommended maintenance and let you make up your own mind with never any pressure. Premium oil change with checks and cleaning is about $50.00. They have $5-6 oil change discount coupons online in local papers and coupon books. This Jiffy Lube is among the lowest prices for non-routine maintenance such as a spark plug change, brake work, transmission fluid exchange, (but not flush), brake fluid flush and probably more. The usual parts such as car light bulbs and windshield wipers are available at good prices. Check Engine light on? They will read and clear the code and tell you what it is so you can tighten the gas cap or go to a repair shop if needed. Window cleaning and interior vacuuming comes with the oil change. The waiting room is comfortable, with a clean restroom, good selection of magazine, comfortable chairs, and middle level coffee. McDonald's is across the street if you want better coffee. Not sure that they could do anything better, except give free popcorn with the oil change.l read more

My fiancé came In for just an oil change and they pressured her into buying a cabin air filter, told her it was 20$ but ended up being 39.99$. They also gave her the most expensive oil change bundle which she didn't ask for. The tech that she was talking to was very rude and very inpatient with her. They also did not put the skid plate back on all the way and it was hanging out from the bottom and broke a couple clips to it. Worst service ever do not go there for any services! I've been meaning to review this location for a long time. Back when the first incidents happened Yelp wasn't even a thing. So consider this an old school review or maybe something more hip, like something a hipster would write. (Let it be known I am not a hipster.) Long ago, I came here for another overpriced oil change. I dealt with the price because it was familiar to me and quite frankly I was new in town and didn't know of any other places. I was also young and naive back then. Those were the days ... First incident, they did not top off the washer fluid. No big, I just went back and they topped it off. Second incident, they left a rag on the engine and I didn't know it was there until I checked the oil again. A minor slip-up I suppose, because nothing terrible happened (but could have). It did make me wonder if they'd miss something bigger. They did. Third incident, the left the oil cap off so about 20 minutes after I drove off I could smell the oil burning. I lifted the hood and there was oil EVERYWHERE. The engine was never to look the same. That was my old Honda, and I miss it so. We parted ways after 15 years and 310,000 miles. Now my little brother drives it and that little car is still trucking. Fourth and final incident. November 2015/January 2016. After years of never returning to this location again, I presented my new(er) Honda to them hoping for a fresh start. I drove off feeling pretty good. Maybe they'll get it right this time, I thought. They did not top off the washer fluid (again) so I had to go back to get it filled up. They didn't apologize for it and even made it seem like an inconvenience to them. You know, like how I dare I came back and take time out of their day. Silly me, bothering them with my car. A few weeks later, my oil light came on. Oh come on, I thought. My car is not eating oil. I checked the level and it was perfect. Turns out that those guys never reset the oil light thingamajiggy. So, I took my car back and actually had to sit there and wait for them to reset the light and check the oil level. I waited a good 10 minutes before they even looked at my car and then another few minutes for them to do it. And again, no apology, and this feeling of "Did she seriously come back here to have us reset the light? Couldn't she have dealt with the light being on for the next 3 months or 3,000 miles?" Sorry fellas, any lights on my console drive me batshit crazy until they are no longer there. This was my final visit to this location. I won't be going to the other one either because they've messed up a couple things there, too. Thankfully not on my vehicles but on work vehicles. Too bad. If I could give them no stars I totally would, but as it is I can't so I will leave that sad little single star there, in representation for all the times they vacuumed my car out and did it well. Pretty solid. I was in and out in just under 20 minutes when there were no customers ahead of me. All the expected work was done. They also washed the windows and vacuumed as a free extra. I said "just the oil, no extra services today" and they respected that. At some other locations, they can be pretty pushy on the upsells. They did pull one minor trick. I said "the cheapest oil option is fine" and the counter rep replied with the name of an oil and its price. Technically he didn't say that was the cheapest option, and there did turn out to be an option priced below the option he named. The bays were a bit cluttered, with some boxes obstructing customers' paths. I had to step over a box to get from my car to the waiting area. It wasn't a major deal, but that could get ugly quickly if it's normally like that and customers come in on a wet day. read more

It's around $35 for an oil change, they top off your fluids and everything too, they even vacuum your car interior! What I truly hate about this place is that (like almost all of these types of places it seems) is that they are always trying to sell me something more! I'm just waiting for them to walk in with one of my headlights and tell me "It looks like your headlights will need to be replaced soon. Would you like to do that today?" I'm sure there are many people who fall for this up selling consistently or they wouldn't keep doing it. I just think this is a shady business practice. I warned her " don't let them sell you anything extra, just an oil change" When home I'm told- oh yeas n they suggested , and I got new windshield wipers. Since I'm unable to drive due to recent ankle surgery, my wife kindly took my truck into the same place that I last had my oil changed which happened to be Jiffy Lube on Notre Dame. She asked for the same service as previously done. Somehow this identical service came out to $25 more than it was almost a year ago (from $50 to $75). I seriously doubt that the price of an oil change has risen 150%. Pretty sure no other oil change service in town has jumped that much in price. So, with that being presented, when she asked for the same service, what did they tack on? Apparently it was a $45 "Signature Service". Why would they do that if she asked for the same service? Was it intentionally taking advantage of her being a woman? She went back to question them on the difference in price.
