So my mother was speraticaly trying to buy a car with not so great credit and I was working so I kinda thought you know the usual car salesman stuff. After I got off work I went in to see the car and deal in place and wow. They took great care of my mom and got her into a Honda Pilot even though she wanted something more rugged. I saw the deal and they worked with her on rebates discounts and credit. They got her in and out quick. Couple hours and honestly thats pretty good for buying a car. I loved the Pilot so much I came back 3days later and even though I had just leased a new vehicle they worked with me and we were able to get me into the top of the line Pilot for less than what I had signed up for with my Tundra. I am now saving in gas and on my monthly and couldn't be happier. The man the myth the legend is Ray (He is the big guy with the beard). If you want a great deal and someone down to earth who will do everything to make it happen for you, make sure you ask for him when you get there. He will take care of you. read more

If you like waiting, this is the place to come. Two-hour wait to drop off the car for service and wait for the shuttle. Once the car's simple service was completed and ready to goI waited 20 minutes for them to bring it up from the back. But not before asking for the second time. Somehow, they've forgotten, even though I had just been there and signed off on the paperwork for pick up. And how long did it take to replace a broken side mirror and a splatter guard, you ask? Over two weeks. I kid you not. Pack a lunch and possibly an overnight bag if you're having service done here. Giving them an extra star for their polite attitude. read more

Absolutely the worst. They broke my cargo box during an oil change. I had to go get another one myself. Returned for them to install the new one and they scratched my exterior door, lost the second key and installed the box backwards (even with the instruction book). Then they tried to deny it all. The service manager said the instructions were 'confusing', (I guess if you have a 3rd grade reading level) that there was no 2nd key and that they didn't do the damage to my car. I finally told them to keep the supposed $7-per-month savings from these "new incentives" rather than waste another trip signing yet more documents. Would give them zero stars if I could. Terrible place to bring your car for any work and bad place to buy a car. They sold me a Honda in 2019 and there's been constant issues whenever I've brought it in to get serviced or tires. First set of tires I bought from them lasted 28k miles, went in and they were adamant on not honoring any coverage. Was told to buy this second pair and we'll have you covered here-on-out.... 2nd pair is now dangerously low and they're telling me I have to buy a third brand new pair before they even honor the tire warranty. These people are only looking out to scam you in every way possible. Don't ever buy tires from these people. The August 2022 2nd pair of tires had a 36month tire protection on them. 11months later tires are bare and they won't honor the protection program I paid for on them before buying another pair. Had gone in and setup the appointment the week before and they acted like all was well. Came in Monday morning and after taking 20min to address me in the car pull up they then acted like they couldn't get my car leveraged on their machinery (how tf are they putting tires on trucks?!?) Then they proceeded to tell me they couldn't honor any coverage on the tires. Money grab establishment. Long story short don't come here unless you want to just sign away to burn money. Buy a car elsewhere you'll get better coverage through a third party. YOU DON'T WANT TO BE TIED TO THESE PEOPLE. Manager is a joke too, can't even talk with customers until he's had his 2-3 service reps butcher conversations. These people shouldn't even be licensed to legally sell and service cars. After I instructed white or honda to replace the alternator in my Honda fit. The vehicle was returned to me I drove it 50 miles again until it broke down on the side of the road again. Khozai Abouzaki replied, "CAN YOU BRING THE VEHICLE AGAIN. .I HEARD IT BROKE DOWN. WE TESTED ALTERNATOR AND WAS PUTTING MORE THAN 14 V WHICH IS GOOD" After I replied " Greetings , it was the Alternator.. as i directed.. how would you like to solve this problem" Khozai Abouzaki replied to me, "when we tested the alternator here. it was puting 14.5. check the paer work we gave you. we tested it twice and it passed. probably it was intermitent but there is no way for us to guess about that. we follow readings and if we tested it twice and passed the test . there is nothing we can do about that." Since than I the customer replied "this is inexcusable you folks are practicing very poor business procedures and i will make sure to make it known to the public if you want to proceed like this. If you care about your job or your company's reputation i suggest you fix this problem immediately. " since than i was left on read and no one has replied to my texts. I have lost $500, three days of my life , and two tow trucks later. the customer service here is unexcusiable. Salesman was awesome, Finance person was Shady. I arranged for the Salesman to deliver my new Honda to me in Redding, which meant the finance guy called me and we negotiated the deal over the phone. On their own website, there was a voucher for 1000 off msrp on the new vehicle, which they did not honor. Also, I declined all add ons, extended warranties, and somehow a 500.00 cna 36 month something was added on with no additional information. I have no Idea what they built into my loan, and so far calls and texts have not been responded to. If you do business with them, do it in person and pay attention. read more

Wittmeier Honda had a 2020 vehicle advertised for $34,600. I made an appointment to inspect and test drive. This dealership is a two hour drive from my home. I inspect, test drive. All is well, I tell the salesman I am interested, let's get a price. He comes back with an offer on a sheet of paper with a $1600 upcharge for some dealer BS add on. So now the price is $34,600 + $1600. I say no, I'm not paying an additional $1600. Then they start tag teaming me with another "salesman". I make a fair cash offer plus tax and license at Kelley Blue Book fair market value and they don't budge. I can't get out the door fast enough. Their advertised prices on used vehicles are a scam! They don't value service provided by first responders or veterans who've honorably served our country. My husband searched up and down the state for an economy car that wasn't overpriced with the supply chain shortages and found one at this dealership that was 290 miles from our home. The internet sales manager was very responsive and confirmed the price listed online. We were entitled to two incentives: $500 off for scheduling an appt - an online promotion - and $500 for his military service, of which he was honorably discharged. We drove the 10 hour round tip drive and prepared to spend $ on a hotel to lessen the burden of being in the car for so long. Upon arrival we were relieved that our car was still on the lot. After a quick test drive, we were ready to finalize the purchase. The initial sales guy was friendly and started the paperwork. We did not want or need to finance, but were told this was how we would get the incentive. This is where things went south. My husband brought his military ID but they wouldn't acknowledge his veteran status without a DD214 form that we were not informed was required. So no $500 off. I was done, how can an establishment have such disrespect for our military!? Regardless we continued negotiations and before starting a contract we said multiple times that we do not need to finance and will be paying in full since they weren't going to honor the discount. The sales manager came back with a new deal to include $1600 of add ons that we did not want. They refused to honor the price we drove 10 hours to close on. It gets worse. They ran our credit, prematurely. A hard hit dropping our credit score without any desire to finance. We are completely disheartened by this experience so much so that we won't be back to Chico. Showed up and was told I was having to wait 5 hours, got a text a couple hours later stated that the alignment machine was broken and that I can come pick up my car. To find out they didn't do my transmission fluid which i asked for with the appointment. They did absolutely nothing with my car. My 2013 Honda Ridgeline - It has been in their shop going on 4 days now. I have called requesting a call back - nothing. I have left messages - nothing. I paid over $5,000 in June 2022 including a rack and pinyon, now I'm told I need another one. I paid another $5,000 the year prior. The service is shotty. I have spent more on fixing this truck than what I have paid for it. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from Honda Chico again. Just because I am a woman, and from the Campfire - do you think I am old and stupid - not anymore! I am going in person today with my file of services dating back to when I bought this truck. The service here has always been bad and very expensive. My husband is disabled so I will be seeking legal advice now. Also, the clock quit working and I have taken it in twice and I'm told that it is a satellite problem and others are experiencing this also - this has been 2-3 years now and not one person has been trying to help me find the answer. Their finance department continues to authorize the loan and sets them up with a ridiculous loan at an incredibly high percentage rate. They set my son up with a loan that was dramatically more than his income could support, and at 12.63% interest! Had we not intervened to help him out, he would have defaulted on the loan, lost the vehicle, then lost his job, then lost his apartment. Bought 4 new Hondas at Wittmeier during the last 20 years. Buying my 2016 HRV was the worst experience I have ever had a dealership. Would highly recommend you find a different dealership for your purchase! I will not purchase an additional Honda from Wittmeier unless they have a complete change in ownership. Obviously, Ed's son has lost the way to keep repeat customer's coming to the dealership. My aunt bought an Insight from Crown Motors, brand new. When she went to Wittmeier for service at 60K, she was told the brakes were worn out. After further inspection, the brakes were fine, as from a different dealer. Very concerning! The dealership needs different leadership to support their customers!!! She is very confident she will not use this dealership for service, nor make a purchase at this dealership! read more

Every time I come here there is always a problem. The wait and the lack of professionalism. When they tell me it will be just an hour for an oil change it ends up taking at least 4 hours. They even would let you leave with a check engine light on. I've had to go back in after those long waits to address that issue twice. I have a newer Honda and they just really do not do a good job. I have bought two vehicles from whittmeier and I usually have a pretty good experience, I can not say the same about this visit. I made a appointment to view a vehicle that I saw online. The sales man that helped was a pretty nice guy but knew nothing about the car. He didn't know if there was warranty, if it was 4 cylinder, or where the car came from. we test drove the car, I liked it and was pretty confident with buying since my credit was good, I had a good down payment and always had a great experiencing buying here with a payment that worked for me. Once they gathered all my information and mind you they messed the first paperwork up. Another man whom I'm Assuming was the sales manager came, to tell me that my credit wasn't very good ,100 points less than my score I've worked for. He reeked of cigarette smoke that gave me a headache. he came back with some figures, adding tons of things that I didn't ask for and a monthly I didn't want. I asked him what the APR was and he wouldn't tell me, only saying it's low, but finally told me after getting annoyed that it was 9.9, far from low! I told him I didn't want that and he continued to come back with different offers refusing to Listen to me. Kept telling me my credit was shitty and he's doing me a favor lol. He even after I told him No, tried giving me a lesson on building credit and still trying to talk me into to buying now and refinancing later. Every time my finance walked away, the man got More and more aggressive and condescending like I was some stupid girl that could be bullied into buying a car. What he didn't realize, is he lost the sale when he came up smelling horrible and refusing to tell me what the APR WAS. I feel sorry for people such as the elderly or folks blind to this whole car buying process who get taken advantage of. We need a repair estimated by the manufacturer to take 1-2 hours. We dropped the car off last night so that Wittmeier would have it available to start work on first thing in the morning. We had no contact from them all day. When I got off work (early to pick up the car) at 4:30 I had my wife call to make sure the car was ready. The lady on the phone told my wife that the repair was taking longer than expected and would not be finished today. I dropped by to get all the details, from the service manager. After interrogating him, I was able to get an apology and admission that no one had even started working on our car until this afternoon. We purchased a used Dodge pickup almost 2 months ago with a broken side mirror. The mirror was broken when the dealership used their car wash to wash the truck. We were told multiple times before we purchased the truck that a replacement mirror had been ordered. We were also told multiple times after we purchased the truck that they would mail us the mirror once they received it. My husband makes weekly calls checking on the arrival of the mirror and is continually given the same answer, "it hasn't come in yet." They have not kept their word from the very beginning! Once I got there the salesman was really nice but the car I wanted didn't even exist??? They told me that they hadn't updated their inventory... if your inventory isn't updated then why even set an appointment up. Anywho they bring out a 2018 version of the car claiming it was the one online which it wasn't. I couldn't even test drive because the vehicle hadn't gone through inspection yet. Bought a brand new transmission From Ford. Had this establishment put in my car. Took it in to be checked was told NOTHING WRONG. A little while later, it started running ruff. I was told again NOTHING WRONG and sent on my way. 2 weeks later found fluid dripping out of it and was told to take my warranty to a different dealership and have them deal with. This is my unsolicited/unpaid review. I contacted Wittmeier via CarGurus.com and was connected to Joey - Internet Sales Associate. I asked him for an OTD price and he replied w/ his quote the same day. I then asked him for a quote w/ a few additional accessories installed and he replied within 24 hours. I spent some time emailing other Bay Area dealerships to see if they could match his price - no other dealership came close Similar to the previous reviewer (Dianne M. of Fremont), we were nervous about heading so far away from home given the bad Yelp reviews. BUT, 4 days later, my husband and I made the 4 hour trek to Chico on a Friday morning. We arrived at noon, met with Joey to check out the car and test drive it, signed paperwork and handed over our cashier's check to the very detail-oriented, low pressure, and friendly finance guy (Kevin Akins), rec'd a walk-through of the car, and we were out of there by 2 PM. For those in the Bay Area, you may want to go earlier 'cause we hit 5 hours of traffic on the way home...still worth it though! Thank you again Joey! read more

Joe A. ruined the Wittmeier shopping experience for me. As a woman shopping for a vehicle, I feel like I'm always at a disadvantage, and Joe certainly made use of that. He might have made eye contact with me once and it was to ask my name, which he immediately forgot, then proceeded to call me "Amanda" throughout his entire pitch. The rest of the time, he spoke only to my husband, asking him questions about what he wants in a car, to the point when my husband actually said, "she's buying the car. Not me." As I began asking questions about the car, Joe interrupted my sentences multiple times to ask my husband about what kind of sports cars he's into and what he thought of "the game." Fun fact: my husband hates sports. I was so annoyed by Joe's total lack of respect that I point-blank asked him to speak directly to me, as I was there to buy the car, not talk sports. He laughed and said, "how can you not like sports?" Totally. Inept. I did not appreciate the super shark tactic of asking me to move my leg as I sat in the passenger side of the car, then locking me in the car while he drove off, forcing me to test drive a car I literally said, "I'm only here to look." I disliked Joe so much that when I went back to the dealership with my father I asked to work with anyone but him. Unfortunately, after working with a pretty nice guy, he had to close with another customer, so Joe took over. Not only did he not remember me from 2 days before, he, again spoke only to my father, this time not even acknowledging my presence. Again, Joe attempted his shark tactic and tried to lock my dad in the car, literally closing the door on my father's leg. As a classy gentleman, my father took it in stride and said, "I'd appreciate you didn't do that again." I was livid. I asked Joe to leave us alone and we left the lot. Overall the service was okay. I had 3 people ask me what I was there for before saying that it's not really their job and they're not sure who's job it is. They all kept staring blankly or saying they're gonna try finding someone to help before slowly wandering around behind the desk. Finally Christian Santos (whose card says he's there to help with Fords and I told him I have a Honda) stepped in, asked me what was going on, and personally made sure that I was taken care of. We have had many Hondas and love them. We went to the Crown Honda in Redding for 20 years, but recently moved to Chester, CA, so I took the Pilot to Chico. What a disaster. I spent 7 hours there last Thursday and almost 5 today. That would have probably been ok if the customer service person had actually tried to communicate with me. Instead, he ignored me, and I couldn't find out any updates until I basically harassed him. At the end of the day he told me my car would be ready soon, but didn't ever contact me (neither did the cashier). After a while I saw my car out front, and he said, "Oh, yes, it's ready." Well, thanks a lot. When I went back today I seemed to be on their radar because I'd whined, and then whined again this morning before I came (from more than an hour away). All I can say is that Crown Honda in Redding is THE BEST, and Wittmeier is - well, they need help. read more

My review is focused exclusively on their online sales, but from what I read from others it sounds like they're consistent gouge artists and they scam people into buying cars for more money than they are worth. Back in November I saw that Chico Honda had a 2017 Civic type R for sale. When I inquired about this vehicle online, their sales rep Travis got back and stated the car was priced at $55,074. Which made this car $20,000 dollars over MSRP!!! I actually laughed out loud when I read that. This car has been slapped with a premium across the country due to high demand and very low inventory but typically these premiums are no higher than 5K. They still have the same 2017 gray type R for sale two and a half months later! Last years model. Nobody is buying. The 2018 model is out now too so this car is getting old... Pretty laughable. Listen Chicoans. You don't have to settle for a dealer who gouges. Sacramento is only about 90 minutes away and there are TONS of fair dealers in Sac and the Bay Area that have no interest in ripping you off. Don't get got. Go get. My recommendation is to seek out better and honest dealerships and save yourself thousands of dollars. You have all the power because you have the money and you can walk away. September/October 2013: I went in as a very serious customer--interested in buying a new, 2013 Honda. My only reservation was that I might want to wait to see if the 2014 model was substantially improved. I asked the internet manager (or something like that) who told me that the 2014 changes would be minor. After leaving the dealership, I did a Google search and found numerous articles about the HUGE changes and improvements that would be available in the 2014 model. So, either the "manager" was lying to me, or he was ignorant. In either case, buying the 2013 would have been a huge mistake--based on their information. I bought a used 2002 Civic EX a few weeks ago from Wittmeier Honda. I felt confident at the time that the car was in excellent condition because they had it priced well over the retail blue book. The salesman told me they did a 140 point inspection which further gave me confidence the vehicle was in excellent shape. After driving the car for a week the air conditioner blower stopped functioning. In addition I noticed that the front passenger window did not go all the way down. I called several times and discussed this with several people in sales. Most told me the car was sold as is. However, they said they would work on trying to help me out with fixing it but I am still waiting for a call back after another week. The salesman who sold me the vehicle finally got back to me the day after I first entered this review. He said to bring the car into the service department and they would cover some of the repairs. They ended up taking responsibility for fixing the power window because it was something they should have noticed but the blower was an intermittent problem that they felt wasn't their fault for missing. I got charged $147 for the diagnostic plus the transistor that they found to be at fault. Seems fair enough to me but not quite as good as I had hoped for, read more

Highly would not recommend going here for absolutely anything. I bought my car here in May and everything was great besides a side piece that was missing on my passenger door. I noticed after I left that my brakes were squeaking very badly. I took it back about 2 weeks later, they proceeded to try and charge me 300-400 dollars after I had explained to them multiple times I just bought the car here and it should be free because the brakes were not my doing. After waiting 7 hours for my car, and having to walk from a food place about a mile away in the 100 degree heat back to the building, they finally understood that I had a warranty and my car was supposedly "fixed." That was not the case, they didn't fix it at all so I wasted my whole day for absolutely nothing and got it fixed somewhere else. After 6 months of waiting for my side piece to my door, it finally came in and drove back to Chico from where I live. (an hour and a half away). I got there at 10am and they said my car wouldn't be done until 5pm. After finally getting the part on, they accidentally snapped off one of the connector pieces so now they would have to order an additional piece to make it fit properly and be correct. I told them not to bother because I would not be returning to this establishment. When they did try to give me my car back, I noticed the door panel wasn't on all the way so they had to take it back AGAIN and put it back on properly. If I hadn't noticed it, they would have given my car back to me with a half on door panel. when they came back they said that they didn't do it and i would have to come back yet another day. I've never been more frustrated with a place before and will never be returning. read more
