I wasn't sure how my experience would go based on the Yelp reviews (which 99% seem to to be about the service department team which was just recently overhauled), but my new car purchase experience with Jeff Marles was pleasant and truly exceptional! I did not let the outdated rating scare me from driving 4 hours to purchase a car I've been waiting for for almost 1 year. I was amazed because I put my name on the waitlist and then 8 months later when the car was available Jeff called me. It felt nice because they said they'd make a waitlist and they really did, unlike some other dealers in Northern California. When I went to purchase the car, Jeff made sure to fulfill my request to not remove transport plastics. He really went out of his way to do this. The transaction was smooth, the price was great, and the finance manager Amy was straightforward and honest. I definitely recommend working with Jeff (who has been there for 10+ years) and Chuck Patterson Toyota. For your new car. Hurry, because waitlists are long but trust me, it's worth the wait because they don't mess around here!

Taking the "sales pitch" to a whole new level

I found it offensive that Chuck Patterson used my information from an airbag recall service visit to send me a text asking if I would be interested in their Vehicle Exchange Program. Seriously? My contact info was for my service call not a sales pitch! That they freely allow access to my information to related departments without my knowledge will cause me to rethink my patronage.

This is the damage that takes 6 days to fix apparently.

I went back after YEARS of hoping there'd be some staff turnover and change with the times, today. Turns out: nope! It is the same awful, customer "service" I remember from years ago with new, young males. I asked my husband to stay in the car with our daughter and exited our vehicle to chat with the man who walked up to the car. I quickly and simply explained what I was looking for in a new vehicle and his responses were literally, "nah, we don't have anything like that. Maybe the... *insert sports car that was the polar opposite of my request* but otherwise, you're out of luck." No attempt at seeking more information from me to help me find something more appropriate. Once again, I was met with instant denial, rudeness, and incompetence. I don't love writing bad reviews but this place is just the worst kind of business. I would rather ride my bicycle across the states than buy a car from these tools. Yikes! They've proved their company practices are built on misogyny and rudeness for years, now. Go literally anywhere else. It's not worth the awful experience, I promise.

The dealership has issues with communication between sales and finance. Many mistakes were made on…read morethe initial contract. I also had dealings with Steve in finance. Not a pleasant experience. I waited 2.5 hours to complete paperwork. He did not appologize for the wait - simply said it wasn't his fault. I signed all the paperwork, then was told I had to do it all over again because he had made mistakes. I refused to resign - told him he needed to amend the legally binding original document and make changes to it - then we could both initial the changes. The head of sales, Sean, got involved and suddenly, all the paperwork was fine and I no longer needed to resign anything. Thanks to Sean, all was resolved. Ended up with a good relationship with the salesperson, Henry. If you chose to work with this dealership, be on your toes regarding what you are told and carefully read all documents. Watch out for Steve in finance. Other posters have mentioned negative experiences with him. Ask for everything in writing - do not go on verbal promises. Everyone is in a hurry here and quickly promise things without remembering what is being promised - not on purpose - just that they are in a hurry and internal communications are not smooth. Good luck. I believe the dealership means well - but are struggling with the management and communication structure.
