I just want to say that despite what other reviews say the receptionist there is very friendly and helpful, we were joking some while she took my car in for service. They value their customers and treat us well. This is my new go to auto repair shop. They have good prices and don't try to overcharge people for the services they provide. This place is the best! They have excellent customer service, competitive rates for repairs and best of all they are an honest mechanic shop. They will show you exactly what they did, what parts they replaced and if something does not need to be done, they don't try to upsell you with a service you don't need. They replaced some headlight bulbs in my wife's SUV and one burnt out in about a year. They replaced it under warranty with no hesitation at all. They have done small jobs like oil changes for us and larger jobs like 100K mile services and suspension replacement and the work is always done right and in a timely fashion. I'd been through a few different mechanics in Chico, but there's nobody I trusted my vehicle with more than Terry at C & M. The shop is clear at the far edge of town, near the airport. I lived in almost the opposite side of Chico but didn't mind the trek one bit. This is a very clean facility which is a rarity among local auto shops. The waiting room is immaculately tidy and the service bays appear to be orderly. Customer service here has always been a step ahead of the competition, too. The staff here are busy but always made an effort to greet me with a smile. Terry had done a number of repairs on my old Honda and I truly felt that the work performed was fair. I was always given an explanation of the issue along with a few different options I could take. As I was a college student at the time, I consistently appreciated how my tight budget was kept in mind. This shop is honest to a fault and I know they'd never make me pay for something unnecessary. I don't live in Chico anymore. If I did, though, I'd wholeheartedly use C & M for my automotive repair needs. Thanks for the great service! read more

Having gone here for years I can guarantee the previous "wooden stick" story is exaggerated or out of context, (not to mention knowing these guys they would have corrected it for free). I grew up in an auto shop and am now a 40 year old banker. The reason I go to C&M is that they do business based on relationship. They take care of you, work within your timeframe, and sometimes do not even charge you for minor issues. I have been going there for over 15 years and have ALWAYS received top-notch service and have been 100% satisfied with the outcome. If you plan on fixing your own car, you should understand that diagnostics are part of narrowing down the issue. Leave it to professionals rather than rolling the dice like a previous poster stated. If you are going to get tires rotated, the only free places I know of are tire stores where you purchased them, MOST other businesses charge, why would they do it for free? Love C&M Automotive! The staff is very friendly and they have always taken good care of me and my car. Among other services, I get my oil changed there, and not only do I feel good about supporting a local business, but they have a terrific "Buy 4 get 1 Free" promo for their oil changes! I feel their prices are fair, and they give me a fair assessment and fair advice. Several years ago, right after I got my used car, my check engine light came on. I took it into C&M, and they ran a diagnostics and told me what the problem was and that it was likely covered under recall or the dealer's warranty. Not only did they not charge me for the diagnostics, but they gave me lots of advice on how to talk to the dealership and make sure I was taken care of. the repair turned out to be covered under the powertrain warranty and cost me nothing out of pocket! I appreciate their awesome customer service and friendly attitude and always refer them to friends and colleagues. read more

Wonderful customer service!! These guys really know what they are doing!! I brought my 2005 Jeep grand Cherokee in while on vacation in Chico. my windows stopped working and it was hot outside. They got me in quickly and figured out the problem in no time at all. The cost was reasonable and they fixed my problem. He is always so honest and upstanding, and I appreciate taking a car there knowing he will do the right fix and not overcharge. I have since told family members and friends to go there. I came here because AAA recommended them. They were able to get me in the day I called. I was expecting a gross auto shop but was surprised how clean it was and was greeted by a young girl, was a nice change opposed to a brash man. I was told they would look at my car and call me, a couple hours later I got a call from a girl who was very knowledgable about cars and explained what the problem was and my cost to fix it (very reasonable). About an hour later my car was finished and it cost exactly what they said. I had a very pleasant experience and my car is running well, will take it back for my smog check when it is due. read more

They do not care about customer service. I came to this dealership on a referral from a family member. I towed my vehicle down there since it was in a good location and right down the street and dropped my key off in the drop box, which is convenient. However, we had to pay for the diagnosis and were given a repair cost quote. Since we just wanted to know what was wrong with our vehicle so we could fix it ourselves we paid the diagnosis fee and went ahead and purchased the part brand new elsewhere. However after replacing the part that C & M told us was the reason for the vehicle problems our vehicle still did not run. Clearly we were angry about having to pay for a wrong diagnosis and we were told "you have too many people looking at your car!". We actually had 1 person (who was a mechanic for over 20 years) look at it and the part that we were told was broken was actually not broken and had nothing to do with our issues. Extremely poor customer service, which would be fine if they knew what they were doing. We did get a refund for our diagnosis cost which was the one good thing. But if you care about how you're treated, look elsewhere for a repair. Btw, we were pleasant during the entire process and still got the big old middle finger from these guys. read more
