I took my van in for an oil change and checkup. They suggested an AC service and I'm glad they did because I knew it had not been working as well as it should have been and I probably would have waited until I had a real problem, which I definitely couldn't afford. I also wanted another service but they couldn't get the parts delivered in time so we ended up skipping that service. The business owner/mechanic has a nice demeanor and seems like he really wants to help people keep their vehicles in the best shape for a reasonable cost. One thing that struck me was that he very naturally made full eye contact as he spoke to me. This is definitely not a shady mechanic or businessman. I had a few issues with the receptionist, but to be fair, I was getting impatient about the parts that had not come in and definitely let her know that, and she's pretty young and it takes time and experience to learn how to handle with finesse people who wanted their car back yesterday but can't get it until tomorrow. My AC is now blasting ice cold air again and the dogs are very happy about that. Overall this is a business I would recommend with confidence. read more

My husband was coming home to Vegas Driving my 60th Birthday Present he purchased from a Family Friend when he broke down in Corning. (It was an a 2000 Jaguar that had very low miles.....it had just been driven around in town.) He called around and got a hold of Tedious and got Buddy on the phone. Even though it was late Friday night, Buddy told him to have it towed in.....long story short, the engine was unrepairable. A new engine is required. Buddy was the most honest and professional auto mechanic my husband, Mark, has ever dealt with. We have owned a few Jags and Mark knew what was wrong, as he has worked on all of them. I feel we got ripped off because my daughter is a young woman who doesn't know about cars. I understand that many businesses have struggled during covid and are having a hard time financially. I would even understand if there were literally a covid fee of $200 because times have been lean. I don't know about cars either, and when your kid has a car problem and the knowledgeable person in the family can't be there, you're at the mercy of the mechanic. I won't ever know if we got ripped off but it was a very expensive repair. We paid more to fix it than the car is worth. It felt yucky. Also, communication wasn't great and it took longer. I guess it's mainly a hunch on my part that we way overpaid but we felt really taken advantage of. She chose this shop because it was highly rated on yelp. read more

If you're trying to get reliable and trustworthy service DO NOT GO HERE. My college daughter took her car here and was handed an $1800 estimate. Luckily she called me before paying these greedy people and a majority of the bill was unnecessary parts and labor. I tried talking with the owner because I knew of a simpler fix to the issue they were claiming it was and he said "he wasn't aware of how to do it and had never heard of that". As she left his final recommendation was that she "get a new car cause hers is falling apart". Her 20 year old friend with little knowledge of cars fixed the issue in an hour and her car is running perfectly which says a lot about tedious autos car skills. AS A MECHANIC ISNT THIS HIS JOB. If you want a mechanic with real knowledge, a friendly attitude, and that can actually fix problems based on your circumstances tedious auto repairs is the last place on the planet you should take your car. My brakes were completely shot, so I got quotes from multiple shops around Chico to compare prices and every place besides Tedious Repairs was ridiculously expensive. He shaved off 60% of the price all other places were quoting me, and I got my car back within a couple hours! His service was so great that when I found out my axel was broken, I immediately went back to him. He ordered the part that day and I got my car fixed just two days later! My daughter had car problems while visiting Chico I sent her here and Buddy took over and took great care of her situation, she was told her alternator was not charging they checked it out and found no problems and offered to run a diagnostic check to find the problem, turns out the guy at the auto store she bought the battery from misdiagnosed the alternator, Buddy said everything checked out OK on her car , since they found nothing there would be no charge, you don't find great auto care often anymore like these guys.
