Upon looking for a place to hang out and catch up my cousin suggested this bubble tea location. It was very quiet on a weekday afternoon. The staff asked if we've been before and we told that we had not. He offered us a sample of their darling lemon tea and it was quite good. The Oreo puff cream matcha milk tea peaked my interested and I went with that. He let us know that he'd bring the drinks over when they were ready. I've never been to a bubble tea place that brings your oder over to your table, that's good service and a good way to differentiate yourself from your competition. In the photo the drink looked super thick to me but that was not the case. It was definitely tea consistency and not milkshake like. I could taste the Oreo cookie bits in the drink which was nice but they got soggy after a while. There's portable battery charging packs that you can borrow. There is a refundable deposit you need to put down first though. If you're looking for wifi it's complimentary. Perhaps next time I go I'll try the food as well and a new drink. read more

After dinner across the way, my friends and I were craving our usual bubbletea so we were heading towards coco when we noticed a new place next door. Stopping to see the menu, we agreed we'd try something new for once and I'm glad we did. HiTea has a great ambiance (I believe they used to be Latea Era) and the staff is super friendly. Above all, the drinks were a hit with all 3 of us. I decided to try their March special - Oreo Puff Cream Milk Tea, friends ordered the Darling Lemon Tea and the HiTea Signature Fruit Tea. We all were in agreement the the teas were delicious and we enjoyed our little table to chat and hang out. The Oreo Puff Cream was delicious though I couldn't taste much tea flavour (I like my teas a little stronger). I did however enjoy that the drink itself wasn't overly sweet as I asked the Bobarista what sugar level she recommended for less sweetness. It was served as per their usual level and it was great. My friends both enjoyed their drinks as the lemon shone through and the tea itself was tasty and refreshing. The HiTea Signature Fruit Tea came in a jumbo cup with lots of fresh fruit that we enjoyed. The tea flavour definitely shone through in those drinks. Overall, I think this might be a new hangout spot for us with the delicious drinks so far and the cozy atmosphere. They also sell snack foods in case you're feeling a little peckish. I'd be interested in trying those along with their other bubbletea offerings. I will note that the prices here are a little higher than say Chatime or Coco but I owe that up to the fresh looseleaf teas, and the more premium cups and environment. read more

A lot of other bbt shops don't carry cheese foam MILK tea and we've been in search of it for a while since La Tea Era closed down. We ordered a Cheese Foam Roasted Milk Tea and a Cheese Foam Matcha Milk Tea. Both were amazing. The cheese really pairs well with the creaminess of the milk tea. The cups they serve them in is also ideal for a cheese foam drink. The store ambience is really clean and modern. Seems like a nice chill spot or even a study space. Although, it would be great if they had a couple of board/card games like how La Tea did. They even have portable battery packs that you can borrow at no charge (pun intended). Will definitely return for more! read more

I was intrigued with their lemon tea series so I opted for the chrysanthemum one and decided to upsize to jumbo (1L cup for extra $2) to share the drink. It even has two spots on the lid for the straws. They use "Snappy" as their reward system. The drink comes with the tea leaves with multiple lemon slices. Sugar level was already set so it could not be adjusted. I thought the tea flavour was weak and the lemon overpowering. Still a good drink overall. However $9 for the cup is steep. I originally ordered the drink with tapioca but it wasn't punched in the system. I reminded them, and they gave me the drink with the tapioca without charging me. Small error but it was smoothly taken care of. Appreciated the gesture! read more

As a bubble tea lover, I love finding new bubble tea joints in the GTA. So happy I came across Hi Tea! I do really appreciate they have a variety of fruit teas as I cannot drink anything with dairy. I ordered the Pineapple Green Tea. This came with fresh pineapple chunks! It was delicious and refreshing. The one think I wish this place had, are dairy free options like almond, oat and soy milk. It would've been nice to try their "milk tea" menus if they had DF options like other bubble tea spots. read more

Exceptional. Worthy of five big glowing stars. Pristine cleanliness, friendly customer service and great product. Hubby had the fresh fruit and pu'er tea which was SUBLIME. I had the grapefruit and coconut jelly tea. STANDARDS ARE HIGH HERE. MASSIVE selection of items. Very impressed. A bit on the expensive side but worth every penny. read more

A good and new bubble tea spot, right next to coco! Decided to try it out and the cashier was super friendly and let us know about the popular flavours to try and his personal favourite. Ended up with the Hong Kong style tea and jasmine green milk tea. When we went, it was also the last day to upgrade from a regular size to a jumbo size for free. Their jumbo size is massive, could definitely share between two people!! Also have the option of choosing the amount of sugar and ice you want in your bubble tea. Place was busy on a weeknight, but there were enough seating areas, and place was super cute! Would def come back to try other popular drinks. read more

Super impressed with this new place which is located in the well established Scarboro Village Plaza. It's situated right next to a CoCo and some other heavy hitting drink places like Marathon Donuts and Coffee. Hi Tea sets itself apart on a number of different aspects including its new sleek looking modern interior, details, and service. Since I've never been to this place before, I had to take some time perusing the menu. After a few minutes the barista saw we were still overly concerned with making the wrong drink choices and was happy to make some suggestions on what was popular without being pushy or seeming impatient. I went with a basic milk tea and tapioca combo, hot, and with no adjustments. My cousin went with his recommendation which was one of the shop's special drinks, an Oreo cream pudding matcha tea. We placed our orders and the barista let us know he'd bring it over to our table. While we were waiting for a drinks we had a chance to look around. There's a lot of 2 and 4 seater tables along the wall, as well as a lounge area with some comfy looking chairs. We also saw that there were phone battery charging packs that could be rented if you were in a pinch. Not sure if you need your own cable though. I also used the restroom which was spacious and clean. Once we got our drinks I was completely fascinated at how fancy the lids were. Since my drink was a hot drink, the lid design was well thought out so that you could cover your sippy hole if you had to become mobile with your drink, avoiding spills without needing to fuss with what you were going to do with the stopper since it was attached to the lid! The sippy hole was big enough for a boba straw too so you were covered if you got toppings. My drink was tasty and my cousin enjoyed hers too! read more

Great service! It really shows their Hong Kong heritage and a lot of their signature drinks are inspired by Hong Kong. There are snacks and good food for example; spicy/non-spicy Lo mien with your choice of meat, which is very fulfilling. It's a very spacious place with great volume music and it's a great place to study and do work as that is what most people do that at this place. read more

This a newly opened HiTea location and I must say it is pretty damn satisfying Everytime I come here. I usually get the Darling lemon tea, hits the spot every time. It's not like super crowded and busy like Coco next door. It's much more intimate to say. The place is brand new so no questions regarding the sanitation of this place. Highly recommend here as it is a very comforting environment. I've probably spent an hour here catching up with my friend. Their Oreo puff cream bubble tea is a must try here! read more

Had a friend of mine go pick up some boba tea, was originally suppose to pick up the regular location boba tea. Due to the circumstance that it is Canada Day. Was told they had 2 sizes, one was regular and the other was some JUMBO size that is fit for a T-Rex. Tasted pretty great, the jumbo size was pretty exuberant to even finish in one sitting. When I'm in the bbt plaza I'll recommend them for whoever is thirsty and want a JUMBO size to quench their thirst. read more

Came to Hi-Tea after reading the reviews to study with a friend. TIP: Hectic parking lot with people who don't know what they're doing. Beware of your parking so you don't get dinged. The staff was really welcoming and attentive when ordering. The cashier recommend the HiTea Milk Tea with tapioca. I got 30% sugar and less ice. The tea was okay but I think I'd come back to try their fruity drinks, which looked really good. The space is really nice. The seating is comfortable and adjustable (chairs and tables aren't bolted into the ground). The restaurant is brightly lit and has a trendy vibe. They have powerbars for rent which is nice so you're not stuck in one spot to get a charge. Wifi is strong so no need to worry about sketchy connection while studying. The downside is that their music system seems to be connected to someone's phone. That phone got a lot of messages (online orders?) and played the notification sound over the speakers A LOT. read more

Very nice place! The Traditional fruit tea is super big enough for 2 people share...including fresh watermelon, melon, dragon fruit...More than half cup!!! New location! This one is closer and has more seating option than the other one I use to frequent often when I was still at my prior job. Fast service and same great quality in drinks!! I love their fruit tea, because I can always use hot water or my own tea with some honey to refill and reuse their cups!! They use a generous amount of ingredients that refills at home are still so refreshing!! Best part is their new points system!! Just enter your name and phone number on their tablet and you are registered to earn discounts and free drinks after every 10 orders! How amazing is that!! Their sitting area is so chic and spacious, too! read more

Even though there are a million bubble tea spots in this area I decided to give this place a try. The service was great. Very friendly staff. The milk tea flavors were kinda limited so I decided to try this oreo cream puff matcha. I'm a huge matcha fan so I definitely had to have this! Overall it was great, didn't really care for the oreo flavoring. The cups were very nice compared to your usual bubble tea cup. I'd definitely return to try other drinks !! read more

Clean atmosphere, available seating which is a welcomed considering its back to school season and having options for study spots is a plus. Their drink selection is pretty good, similar to the rest of the bubble tea shops. They also offer light snacks if you get hungry. Cheese foam roasted milk tea was delicious. As good as anywhere else. Their regular milk tea and Boba are not great. read more

Hi Tea is one of my favourite go-to spots for fruit teas and doing work. It's never too crowded and there's a decent amount of wall outlets scattered throughout the shop, making it a good spot for studying. Their fruit teas are huge and tasty - I usually go for the hi-tea signature tea, which is a Hong Kong styled tea jam packed with fresh fruits. Their food selection is decent too, although a bit on the pricey side. Their fries are honestly one of my favourite fries ever (next to Costco fries), but sadly it's been taken off the menu for some reason :( Every time I visit I lowkey hope that I'll see the fries on the menu again. Overall, great spot for hanging out and the customer service here is top notch! read more

Atmosphere: The interior is designed very nicely. There is regular seating and a cute lounge area for group seating. Service: Great staff. The owner interacted with my friends and I, asking how the drinks were. She was really nice to everyone. We were told that they make each of their drinks individually with a separate tea bag for each one, which is the reason as to why they take so long to make your drink. Drinks: I got one of their signature drinks, 'I want to see you' and it was a fruit tea. I personally do not like my fruit teas to be overpowering with the tea, it results in a bitter taste. This drink did have a slight bitterness to it but it still tasted great. Packaging: The cup is very sturdy, unlike your usual plastic cover seal. read more

Went here on a Friday around 7pm and it wasn't too busy. We waited only 5 mins for our drink. I tried the roasted milk tea but I couldn't taste the roasted flavour. However, the tapioca was amazing. New-ish to the plaza, Hi Tea replaced another bubble tea store and they have quite a few nostalgic offerings. If you're into classic Hong Kong style lemon tea or Hong Kong milk tea, this place does it really well! I got an Oreo cream pudding milk tea which is one of the store's specialties without any toppings and was able to just use the sippy hole to drink (no straw needed! Less waste!). The Oreo Puff Cream tea was nice but the drink was less thick than I expected and was mostly a milk tea with soggy oreo crumbs. Next time, I'd go for one of the classics! read more

Great bubble tea place with a good atmosphere. Lots of choices for a reasonable price. Jasmine green milk tea for $5 and HK style lemon tea for $7. Today was also the last day for a jumbo size upgrade. The HK tea was just perfect and made with love. However, the jasmine tea wasn't as sweet as I hoped it would. But nonetheless it was okay. Overall, the experience was great here and would most definitely come back! read more

Amazing how they're still in business. Been over 15 minutes waiting for a regular HK lemon tea and mango slush. There were no other orders in queue. I could have brewed my own tea, walk to the supermarket to grab lemons , mango ice and sugar by the rate they're moving. 3 baristas might I add on top. Order received , with being the mango slush and a wrong order of HK MILK TEA. Just go to coco outside the door. read more

This place is like the Starbucks of bubble tea spots -- It is a little more pricier then Chatime but it's worth it, the bubble tea I ordered was PHENOMENAL!! I got mine with no ice and 50% sugar but their staple milk tea called "Hi Tea" was delicious and noticeably different (in a good way) from other bubble tea spots I've tried. This is definitely a place to test out if you're in the Midland/Finch area. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make my friend a whole new bubble tea because she found hers too sweet, which I think was great customer service -- Overall 4.5/5 read more

I was excited to try this bubble tea place. Too bad they had a false advertisement on their window and they did not stand by the promotion offered. The sign reads "Purchase any drink off the menu and receive another drink off the menu of equal or lesser value". When asked about the offer, the male staff member said it must be a mistake, and the female staff member said "I don't know, I just work here". Glad Coco bubble tea was next door for their great drinks! read more

My sister and I chose to have drinks here on a Friday night over the other bubble tea places in the area. We were greeted by friendly staff who offered us a taste of their house special drink which was sweet and citrusy and very enjoyable. As great as it tasted, we trekked all this way to have bubble tea so I ordered the Oreo cream and the flavour was satisfying. My sister got the matcha version which she also found satisfying -she likes the strong matcha taste but if that isn't your preference maybe ask for less. The indoor atmosphere is very clean and pleasing. They have booths, tables, and couches at the back. This place looks like it would be comfortable for groups of friends.
