Caramel macaron
Alex S.

Such a cute bubble tea shop with some really cool flavours! In addition to traditional taro, matcha and fruit bubble teas they have maple and chocolate teas. Can't wait to try them all! So far I've only tried matcha milk tea and strawberry green tea and both were really good. Each tea comes with a free mini booster shot and those were great too. I ended up buying a couple more to try them out. Another pleasant surprise is their desserts. They carry the original and Oreo love me sweet cheesecakes! It's similar to uncle tetsu but more dense and has more flavour. The macarons were really good as well especially the chocolate caramel one. Yum! The shop itself is very cute inside, I can see it being an amazing hangout spot in the summer/after covid. I will definitely return!

The drink I ordered - A hand is holding a large clear plastic cup filled with strawberry cheesecake milk tea containing tapioca pearls at the bottom. The cup has a domed lid with a straw inserted through it. A label on the cup indicates the order details, including the drink type, size, and ingredients. The background is plain and neutral, emphasizing the beverage.

First time trying this chain - super disappointed. Tapioca pearls were not chewy and fresh - seemed to have been stewing for a while or not cooked properly, as it's mushy outside but with a hard core on the inside. Asked for less sweet, but you can see in the picture they made this drink 100% sweet. If they were not able to change the sweetness level, they did not mention it. Flavour of the drink is average at best, as they use pre-made syrups and powders, which is normal for many other bubbletea shops. If you like poorly made, artifical powdery flavors, and bad tapioca, try this place. Otherwise, would advise you to stay clear of this location and bubbletea chain, especially when there are so many other choices out there, which is better for your money and satisfaction. Sad to say I threw the drink out.

Which one are you? Strawberry smoothie or Taro milk tea with creme cheese? Palgong Tea is a popular Taiwanese bubble tea shop that has made it's way to Toronto! Their menu is nice and a lot more simple then other bubble tea menus I've seen. You can customize the sweetness and ice level. All of the bases are vegan. Something unique is how they offer foam toppings! They offer different flavours like matcha, chocolate and creme cheese. I got the creme cheese with my Taro milk tea and it was lovely! The salty taste with the rich taro flavour was the best. My favourite was definitely the strawberry smoothie. It wasn't too thick, making it easy to slurp. The strong, sweet, refreshing strawberry flavour really hits you on the first taste. The space is bright, modern, clean and muti-use. You can hang out, get some work done or easily just sit around to enjoy the delicious teas. The best part of the restaurant is the partnership with Deaf Culture Center. Half of the downtown location employees identify as deaf, making it Toronto's first bubble tea shop that you can order in sign language. A portion of all sales is donated to Deaf Culture Center - how amazing is that!

Original milk black tea (XL) with tapioca

This simple, inexpensive, old school style bubble tea joint is a welcome addition to Toronto's bubble tea scene. I understand this is Palgong Tea's second location in the GTA, with the first location having opened recently in the Distillery District. I am usually never in the area of this new location, but I found out about this new cafe by chance upon checking Yelp after an appointment in Thornhill. As the first reviewer stated, the cafe is tucked away in the back of a nondescript plaza on Steeles -- I actually missed the turn when prompted by GPS, thinking it was in the Tim Hortons plaza. Once you find it, the cafe is very nice: clean, spacious, and quiet. The service was friendly and efficient as well (though I was the only customer at the time). The original milk black tea, with tapioca pearls, was a blast to the past for me. It's an OG Taiwan style bubble tea; not too milky, classic tea flavour, perfect chewy tapioca. I was very happy with my choice of 70% sugar for this drink. The grapefruit green tea was also great. They use pulp instead of fresh fruit. My only regret was asking for 50% sugar, which was not quite enough to neutralise the tartness of the grapefruit and green tea. I thought the addition of passion fruit jelly would make up for the lower sugar level, but I guess I was wrong. The best part, tbh, is the price tag. These two XL drinks, comparable to large sizes at other chains, only cost about $11 after tax. What a deal! They also offer regular teas, for which a portion of proceeds go toward an organisation supporting Deaf individuals. With so many bubble tea shops chasing after the latest and greatest trends these days, often at the expense of offering high quality classics, I appreciate the basic menu and humble price point of Palgong. I'm definitely rooting for this business which is bringing bubble tea back to its roots.

Lemon green iced tea with tapioca

This is the best bubble tea place I've tried in Vaughan, probably all of Toronto! Every flavour i have tried is amazing. I love the smoothies and all the iced tea's are amazing. The main thing that I love about this place is the amazing customer service. Every single time I have been to the Thornhill location, I am greeted so nicely and the employees go out of their way to start a conversation with me and tell me about the different drinks they have. Every employee that works at this location is so respectful, has great customer service and people skills and most of all always makes my drinks correctly and quickly. I absolutely recommend this place and will always be coming here!

**Fun Drinks, But Not the Best for Kids**…read more We stopped by **Machi Machi** to try their drinks and had a pretty good experience overall. We ordered the **matcha red bean drink** and the **mango drink**--both were delicious and definitely fun to try. However, if you're bringing kids who prefer simpler drinks, this might not be the best spot. My kids were hoping for a basic mango drink, which wasn't available, but they still enjoyed what they got. My matcha red bean drink also came with **three rice mochi on a stick**, which was a nice touch! The location itself is inside a **shared space with other restaurants**, so it's not a standalone shop. It's **not stroller-friendly** as there are steps inside, and I didn't see any **high chairs**, so it might not be the most convenient option for families with younger kids. While the drinks were tasty and unique, **it was almost $20 for just two drinks**, so it's definitely on the pricier side. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something different, but keep in mind the cost and setup before going!

This machi machi is located inside a small food court, so it might get busy during the day. We were…read morethere on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of seating because the other shops were closed. Staff were pretty nice and explained what choices I had for caffeine free drinks. I got the brown sugar milk with a mix of tapioca and taro balls, delicious! They have some deals (2 drinks for 9.99, etc ) so make sure to check before ordering!

Sun Tea - Honeydew tea slush & Grape tea slush

This location of Sun Tea opened recently and I took advantage of their half off any drinks promo. I…read moregot the oreo cream milk tea and the orange jasmine tea. 1) Oreo Cream Milk Tea I really enjoyed this drink. It came with a lot of Oreo crumbles and an a whole Oreo cookie as well. The only thing is I didn't get to taste the flavour of the tea as much because of the Oreo. I believe I got the drink with less sugar. 2) Orange Jasmine Tea The jasmine tea was very fragrant and pairs well with the orange. I like orange green tea so I also enjoyed this drink. I have yet to try their regular milk tea which I would get the next time I visit this place. The staff was also really nice and friendly (I believe the owner was also there). Service still needs improvement but as they just opened, it's understandable.

Sun Tea Ratings: 4/5…read more Food: 4.25/5 - Late night boba run with my boyfriend cause we are staying nearby. I mainly wanted to explore Toronto and try as many local boba shops as I can that's not in the States. Sun Tea definitely exceeded my expectations. It was also my first time trying a grape drink, so good experience overall! Please see the drink we got to share below. - Fleshly Grape [GET]: We got the drink with less ice and 30% sugar, but could be sweeter though. The drink itself was refreshing, not heavy. The tea flavors were pretty noticeable and high quality. I was surprised by the real grapes they used in the drink too, because I enjoyed them more than I expected. They tasted fresh and delicious. The toppings were only average though. The tapioca boba was chewy but a bit mushy, think it was cooked too long, and the agar boba was not as bouncy as I like it to be. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - Tiny boba shop located on Yonge, probably only fits around 4-5 people at most. The interior is clean, bright, and organized. There's nothing much to see. As soon as you walk in, you see the menu displayed on the TVs and an open kitchen. This place is only for take outs, and there's no indoor seating available. Not a place to hang with friends. Price: 4/5 - The Fleshly Grape is one of their popular drinks. We substituted the jelly topping for tapioca boba instead at no additional cost. The total came up to be around $9 after tax. I would say pretty pricey, but quality is there and tasted pretty decent. Service: 4/5 - There were two staffs working there. One of them took our orders while the other staff was preparing the drinks. They were friendly, and I'd say the service is like your typical boba shop customer service you can find anywhere else. BLUF: Offers interesting and unique flavors drinks, mainly specializes in fruit teas on Yonge. I would recommend any of their fruit teas or slushy, and get half sugar. I recommend get some other toppings, the honey boba and agar boba was just okay, maybe I was just unlucky that day or because it was late in the day, so the batch weren't that fresh, but definitely still worth of a try if you are in the area and if this is your first time!
