There's so much hype around HEYTEA, but now I can see why! I've been wanting to try this popular tea spot, but there's usually a pretty long line. Luckily, the line at this location wasn't too bad. They have an online order system, so even though there was no one in line at the ordering kiosk, lots of orders are coming in. I really enjoyed their Mulberry Boom which has a strong mulberry flavor and even pieces of mulberry fruit inside! Just be careful not to spill, since the color of the mulberry is pretty concentrated and will most likely stain your clothes! The Cloud Coconut Blue is a really pretty layered drink! They use blue spirulina for that vibrant blue color. There's also matcha blended with their original cheese cloud, along with coconut water, coconut milk, and coconut milk jelly. Definitely for coconut lovers! Mango Grapefruit Boom is one of their recommended. It's refreshing, slightly milky, and has a bit of bitterness from the grapefruit. I haven't had a drink like this before, so if was definitely unique! The Grape Boom is a pretty purple color, and you can really taste the grape flavor! Very refreshing. Parking in the lot out front or in the underground parking structure. You can to take the stairs or elevator to get to the second floor where the shop is located. Cloud Coconut Blue (4/10): For how expensive this drink was, it was pretty disappointing. I did not like the coconut flavor of the drink. The matcha cream added 4 points to the score because it was pretty good, but that was the only good thing about the drink. After mixing the matcha foam in, there was no matcha flavor in the drink. The boba is okay, nothing special to mention though. Cloud Matcha Latter (6/10): There was a nice matcha flavor, but not strong enough. The matcha flavor was not very unique or did not taste very high quality. The original cheese cloud on top was light and tangy, which tasted decent. Coconut Mango Boom (4/10): The drink tasted super watered down with barely any coconut flavor present. The mango was decent, but once the drink was mixed, the mango flavor diminished. I wish the mango flavor was a little stronger. Overall Thoughts: These drinks are definitely not worth how much I paid for it. I wish I got the supreme matcha latte instead of the cloud coconut blue. The drinks were pretty disappointing, and there are many other boba shops with better drinks at fairer price points. There might be a small line to order. The wait time took pretty long. I personally just don't like when my sweet drinks have cheese/salt flakes added to it since I don't think it compliments well. This is how you can tell how much I love a place and how it leaves me wanting for more! First time I experienced HeyTea was in Singapore back in 2023. I thought it was just ok at that time. They were more tea and not so much matcha and fruit drinks iirc. Yesterday, I had Mango Grapefruit Boom and today I had Matcha Bobo Shake . I actually wanted to order Matcha Coconut today, which is one of the collab between Vita Coco and Hey Tea, but it was marked sold out. Between the 2 that I tried, I like Mango Grapefruit Boom better. I like how the mango and the grapefruit provide quite a contrast of flavor in the drink and the coconut flavor from the coconut milk and the coconut pudding actually bridges the 2. Meanwhile, the matcha drink was just ok for me. I wanted a stronger taste of matcha and unfortunately I didn't taste it in my drink. I also think the drink is rather milky. Somewhat more milky than I usually prefer. Not sure if I could order it with skim milk next time, if what I had today was whole. Great aesthetics; everything is white. A few people working the store and everyone seemed pretty friendly and helpful. There's also a kiosk on the side but it wasn't working at the time I went. Perhaps it's for when the store is more busy. I ordered the cloud matcha and my friend got the mango grapefruit boom or similar. Despite seeming like there weren't really customers there, it still took about 15 minutes for our drinks to be ready. I assume there's quite a bit of online orders for pickup. We both enjoyed our drinks and would come back again. Taste was great, napkins looked cute, and even the sticker they use for the side of the drink was good quality. I thought the price was a little high for the more average drinks like a regular matcha (my matcha drink was $7.99) but a bit more reasonable for the fancier drinks like the mango grapefruit or the coconut mango. Another new location closer or somewhat closer from home in Rowland Heights. I like it here more than the Beverly Hills location because of parking AND fewer people. You dont have to wait more than 30 minutes for a drink.   It may be different on weekends, but during weekdays, there was no wait at all. My drink was ready in less than 3 minutes. I think you can also order ahead using their app if that is an option or you are on the go.   Not sure if this store takes orders in person, but I saw one ordering kiosk on the left side of entering, and it was a simple and quick process! There was limited seating inside but plenty of outside seating available. I had heard positive feedback from a relative in Irvine so I was excited to check out this new HeyTea location. Located in a corner strip center so the parking can be challenging since its limited-on spaces. Once entering the establishment my senses picked up the fresh scent of teas and the simple layout is set up for efficient customer service with additional tables in front. I ordered the mango grapefruit boom. HeyTea states that milk is organic no artificial creamers or instant powder. My drink was impressive with fresh mango and tasted delicious. The drink was yummy even though I requested less sugar and a generous size. My only con here was that the gal that assisted me was not fluent in English and a bit difficult to understand. I've always wanted to try Hey Tea since they opened, but it's always busy. I finally went in, and even though it was packed, I'm glad I did. I didn't take many pictures, but that's okay. This is more of a grab-and-go spot, with only two tables outside and small cup-sized tables inside. I wouldn't feel comfortable staying inside, as I'd prefer to enjoy my drink in a calmer atmosphere. Despite the crowd and high volume of orders, the workers were incredible, making drinks quickly and efficiently. They have an order screen that updates when your drink is ready, which is really convenient. The front area was clean, and the self-order system made the process smooth. I ordered two drinks: the Cloud Yumberry and the Strawberry Boom. The Cloud Yumberry was my favorite--I had never tried a drink like this before, and it had a unique taste that I really enjoyed. The Strawberry Boom was just as good, but there was something special about the Cloud Yumberry that stood out to me. Both were refreshing and delicious! A very different approach and take on traditional tea/milk tea! HeyTea has been popping up all over SoCal in the last like 2 months. They just opened one in Irvine and another is coming in SGV. I was surprised to see a HeyTea open in Rowland Heights. They didn't announce the grand opening anywhere, not even on social media so I was surprised. Also a bit disappointed because had I known, I would've tried to come in the first 3 days when they were offering BOGO free drinks. I came here after for their other grand opening specials where it was BOGO 50% off the next 4-7 days. The drinks are priced relatively high but i think that's because they use real fruits in their drinks. Not to mention because most of their drink options are blended, there is a longer wait time to consider because they have to blend everyone's drinks. I ordered the coconut mango boom - it was delicious! it tasted like the asian mango dessert at like meetfresh or something similar but in a drink version. I would get this again! It also tastes very similar to Yifang's mango sago drink too. My finacé ordered the grape boom and it was very refreshing. He thought it was too sweet despite changing the sweetness to less sugar.
