Makkee Dessert is a new Chinese dessert shop that originally opened its first store in Shanghai in 2021 and has rapidly expanded over hundreds of locations across China in recent years. This location marks Makkee Dessert's first U.S. location. [Parking]: The shop is located in Diamond Plaza which has a parking lot that is pretty big, but I still ended up parking on the other side of the plaza and walking to the dessert shop. Parking is free. [Ordering]: All customers must place their orders using the lone kiosk. Once the order is ready, customers will receive a text message. Customers can also monitor their order status on the screen. The shop was packed on Sunday at 2:30 PM, but order preparation was surprisingly quick. If customers choose to dine in, they must secure a table before ordering. [Menu]: Top Yelp highlighted items include *fill in the blank* Snow Black Sticky Rice, Mango Sago with Mini Tapioca Pearls, and Mango Pomelo Sago. They also sell milk teas. Please note that mango season runs from April to July (mangos taste the best during the peak season). *** Mango Pomelo Sago ($10.99): A refreshing dessert, but the mango pieces tasted a bit sour. The overall sweetness level was about right. *** Think of Makkee Dessert as a slightly upgraded version of Meet Fresh except Makkee Dessert places a big emphasis on mango. I can see myself revisiting and trying other items on the menu.

Found Makkee Dessert on Yelp when we wanted dessert after dinner. This place is packed with line out the door on Saturday night! Good sign the food must be good. I ordered the signature dessert and my friends ordered 5 other different ones. They are all well made with quality ingredients and each component is cooked properly so nothing is too hard or too mushy. The overall dessert has just the right amount of sweetness. Nice packaging for to go order. The shop is bright and clean but it's so busy it seems understaffed. Limited seating available. I'd come back again to try different items.

First time here. It has a good amount of indoor seating. Restaurant is clean. Parking is fairly easy since it's located in a big plaza. Ordering is done on a kiosk. The menu is limited and a bit confusing. Our deserts were refreshing and yummy. They weren't too sweet.

Note to self. Stay home, maketh yourself. Miniature tapioca, tangyuan, taro, coconut milk, sugar. Product was lukewarm, product was overtly mediocre, nothing 3Cat, Cha Redefine or Meet Fresh couldn't make. "When an industrial product designer focuses too much on image and not so much on substance, and forgets good food is simple and needs to appeal to the soul.

I was craving a dessert place that was not MF. Yelped and found this near by. Surprised to find some unique desserts that I only had in Asian. You don't get Peach sap everyday. Their desserts are overly sweet which I like. Taro sago with sweet potato mochi hit the spot for me. Portions are shareable for 2 people. Mango sago was fresh and tasty.

So yummy and refreshing. The taro is real as well with no extra coloring. I also taste the taro in the taro balls. Milk mochi also good consistency

One of the best Asian desserts places I've been to! Even the boba tea is sooooo good with the tofu type jelly in it! They all kind of tasted healthy with sweet potato jelly and read beans and grass jelly. This place is in a huge plaza with lots of parking spots around. We just ordered from a tablet and pick up the food from the counter.

My takeout order. Very impressive packaging!

First visit and unfortunately not a great experience. The menu wasn't very user-friendly, and ordering was kiosk-only, which made things feel impersonal from the start. Staff interactions were minimal--no greeting, no guidance, and no acknowledgment when we left. As for the desserts, they didn't impress. The mango sago (a classic I usually enjoy) was just okay, nothing memorable. The peach gum with lotus seed, advertised with "fresh milk," was disappointing. It had very little flavor, and the milk base had an unexpectedly thick, slightly gooey texture. We ordered for takeout. The packaging was impressive, with a secure screw-top lid, a plastic insert to prevent leakage, individually wrapped spoons and a bag designed to hold two containers perfectly. For a $25 spend, this didn't feel like a good value compared to what other Asian dessert shops offer. Overall, underwhelming in both service and taste. Maybe just an off day, but not enough to bring me back.

This place is great! We came when they weren't busy (around 5:45) and got our mango sticky rice in less than five minutes! Service is attentive and the interior is sleek, modern, and clean. The mango sticky rice is amazing. The black sticky rice is perfectly sweet, and there are great ratios of all ingredients. Although this place is on the pricier side for desserts, the ambiance, speed, quality, and taste are all worth it.

pretty average. I just feel like there are definitely better dessert places. My mango dessert wasn't cold enough and that was prob my biggest gripe about it. My friend and I did come maybe like 10 mins early before the biggest line ever. It was actually FULL and people were waiting to order by the time we finished. My friend who came here a few times said they would run out of stuff and my parents told me they came once and said the same thing. While I don't personally see the hype, this place is definitely popular.

Been here numerous times now and I genuinely love this spot. One thing I always tell people is that it's way better to dine in than order takeout, especially for their ice cream frozen series since it can lose its texture by the time you get home. Everything we've tried has been consistently great, which is rare. My personal favorite is the durian snow ice. Not a lot of places serve durian desserts, so I'm really happy to have a spot like this nearby that does it right. The quality, flavors, and overall experience keep me coming back.

I usually hit their San Marino spot, but this location still delivered the goods. The shop's a bit small inside, but service was nice. Grabbed my ride-or-die Koan-Im Oolong Latte and paired it with a donut from my favorite donut shop like I was assembling the perfect duo for a late night snack. The tea was lightly sweetened perfectly to my liking, smooth, and clearly crafted by someone who respects tea leaves more than I respect my sleep schedule. The cloud top was basically dalgona candy foam and felt like a bonus dessert after finishing the drink. Even with a lot of people waiing, service moved fast, in & out in about 7 mins. Quality tea, speedy service, and enough creamy foam happiness to make a milestone review feel deserved!! Highly recommend!!! Now for some poetry that's inspired my 1000th review: Warm glazed memories sift through my reverie. A pink box opened in the summer of 24. Days were bleak and hollow like a bakery shelf at closing. I saw the saddest eyes, soft as powdered sugar falling. Sweet like a dalgona cloud top koan-im oolong latte, but carrying a quiet ache no frosting could hide. That summer you saved me, like the first bite of something new when you thought you'd forgotten what butterflies felt like. The season changed and you suddenly disappeared.... just an empty pink box on the counter. Only crumbs remain now, where your strawberry-glazed humor used to melt into every moment like sugar on warm dough. My heart split like a jelly donut. Still, I'm grateful as the world is as it should be. I pass by the donut shop on 66 and smile. People think it's just about donuts. But once.... a long time ago, one saved my life. How are consumers supposed to know to ask beforehand when most rewards systems allow you to input a number after you pay? With Card, there's a 35 cents additional charge for orders under $15.) I arrived at Tenju Tea House (Rowland Heights) on Friday (around 11:45AM). There's a competitive, busy parking lot. Fortunately, I quickly found parking. Staff is professional and polite. Staff gave good recommendations, and Staff answered all my questions. The drink took about five minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Iron Goddess Milk Tea ($6.75 - Large - 100% Sweetness). The crisp tea taste is pronounced and brewed perfectly (not burnt). Its gentle sweetness soothes the throat, and the flavor of honey and caramel flutters about. It's DELICIOUS! On ambiance, Tenju Tea House (Rowland Heights) is aged, worn-down but well-maintained. The location is a little small; there's about four tables. Fortunately, it feels well-ventilated and airy. In addition, Tenju Tea House (Rowland Heights) also has PLENTY of utility. This spot has 34 electrical outlets!!! WOW! These outlets easily blend with the wall. There's also customer internet with password; customers must ask Staff for details. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, I found unexpected happiness at Tenju Tea House (Rowland Heights). The tea is one of the best! If you love tea, this is a very easy recommendation. 4.9 out of 5!

The monk's blend was an iced Ceylon black tea with a touch of vanilla and grenadine. Although this drink is a signature menu item, I didn't really enjoy the citrusy and plum-like tartness. Most of the popcorn chicken pieces had a crispy texture, whereas others were a tad soggy. With medium spice, the chicken was very flavorful. The popcorn chicken came in an oyster pail that looked a little small, but the portion size still seemed adequate for the price. I ended up drinking the tea first before eating the chicken because the flavors did not leave a complementary aftertaste. Also, I got my tea first, but the staff forgot to give me the popcorn chicken even though they said that it's on the way. I had to follow up after waiting several minutes. One staff member was apologetic and explained that she thought my order was complete once I got my tea. The wait was unfortunately long because of the miscommunication.

I almost always go for zero sugar, and the fact that I can do that easily is a huge plus for me. It's the kind of flexibility that modern boba shops should all offer. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable, which is refreshing compared to some other spots in the area. Is it the most amazing boba I've ever had? Honestly, no -- but the ability to build your drink exactly the way you want it more than makes up for it. There's also a large display screen showing order status, so you always know when your drink is ready. It's a small touch, but it makes the whole experience feel smooth and stress-free. I'll be real though -- I probably drink more coffee from the Starbucks across the street than boba from here. At the end of the day, coffee feels like the healthier daily habit. I happened to be in the area, getting a tattoo and wanted to refuel before I trekked the trafficky drive home to Irvine (UGH..at 2:30 pm on a Wednesday, no less).
