She was patient, kind and very attentive to our table, making sure everything was satisfactory. She's very professional and super friendly which we thoroughly enjoyed. I was celebrating my birthday and Katie gave me a complimentary dessert of my choice from the menu. So many times restaurants bring a dish of ice cream for birthdays, so this was a nice surprise. I made a remark about their complimentary bread. They bake it there and I really liked it. When she brought our doggie bag to the table she had added a loaf of their bread to the bag because I told her I thought it was so good. That was so sweet and unexpected. Our steak and fish dinners couldn't have been better. Katie truly made the experience top notch. Also because my husband is a Navy veteran, we were given a 10% discount on our entire meal. This place was very disappointing. I got a $68 dollar rib eye. They brought it sizzling in a cast iron pan and sliced into strips. Anyone who knows how to cook a steak knows that you let it rest after you cook it, before you cut it. The pan continued to cook my medium rare steak to very well done, with a raw center. Then masked it with garlic butter, so all the flavor ran out and all it was was garlic and flavorless meat. I've had better steaks at Applebee's. My wife got the braised short ribs, also flavorless. We went to Henrys thinking it was going to be a decent steak house. It was very pretentious and the service was bad. 1. Who orders a half glass of wine? Why don't you just put one price per glass. 2. They try to hard. I didn't need a golf ball sized blob of green butter on my vat of mashed potatoes. I thought they were being festive for St. Patricks day. 3. The filet mignon that if I was a waiter I would have been embarrassed to serve. It literally looked like they cut a chunk off my boyfriends filet and put it on this enormous plate with a sprig of parsley and 3 garlic cloves. For 27 dollars it was unreal. It really wasn't even 6 oz when they started over cooking it. I will be uploading the photos. 4. We ordered dessert to share and it took a half hour. They then proceeded to split it up on 2 plates. Which to me was odd. I don't know if it's that I'm spoiled and have been dining in all the best restaurants in San Francisco since I was a child but they didn't hit the mark. Fancy steakhouse within Red Hawk casino This classy joint sure has a great atmosphere. We only came for the drinks at the bar, but even without sitting down for a full meal you can tell the place is fancy, with a nice decor, smooth background music, and well dressed waitstaff and hostesses. This is essentially the place where the people who won money go celebrate, or those who are rich enough to spend a lot! Unfortunately, the bartender was not very knowledgeable--she was clearly new, and she had trouble with finding where things where, how much to charge, who to charge, and basically everything from start to end. When I asked for an "Old Fashioned", she made me a pink drink in a martini class, with a cherry on top. Definitely not what I wanted! Might be worthwhile to have more training first before dealing with paying customers, especially given the amount of effort put into making the place so fancy! I give this place 2 stars because the staff was very nice and the ambience was lovely. Drove the hour to this place to try something new. We are accustomed to nicer steakhouses like Morton's of Chicago and Ruth's Chris. The food was not deserving of the lavish praise given on some of these reviews. I ordered the $58 Ribeye. It comes on a sizzling cast iron plate with potatoes and seasonal veggies. The steak came covered with what I would call an onion infused butter that was easily the size of 3 large tablespoons full. It was beyond overkill. It absolutely ruined the meat. The sides were drab at best. I will say the Caesar salad was quite nice. My father had the filet mignon and was stunned by the blandness of the meat. Unfortunately for both of us we have spent the greater part of this evening in the restroom after we ate here if you catch my drift. Now for the unfortunate part. Mind you, the service was quite friendly. However, slow doesn't begin to convey how glacial a pace they have from the start. I don't mind being patient at all, but 30 minutes to get your check and leave is a bit trying on the patience. I guess I will chock up the chronic delays on perhaps a short staffing issue. Besides the fact that this place is expensive, overall I like the ambience, and food. We ordered the Surf and Turf, Grilled Rack of Lamb, Wood-Fired Asparagus with Herbed Butter, and Crispy Calamari. I had the medium rare Lamb which I thought was well delivered. My dinner companion had the Surf and Turf and thought that it was good. Just finished dining at Henry's. Ribeye steak was a little thin but flavorful. After a disappointing dinner at the once great Mortons, the return to Henry's Steakhouse was a must. We learned to appreciate this place that much more. The menus have changed, though. No more Cioppino. Sad. It was sooooo good, too. We really enjoy eating at Henry's. The food is very tasty, it's a classy restaurant with enjoyable and knowledgeable staff. I always order a salad and filet Mignon a la carte because the mashed potatoes you get with the regular meal is on the salty side. There's one thing that I've noticed over the past year or 2, the Filet Mignon has been getting smaller and smaller and smaller, but the price stays the same at $45. I used to get a filet that was, I would say at least twice as big, thick and juicy before and now it's only a 6 oz, thin filet. and on the dry side. This is unfortunate because I always looked forward to getting that nice big juicy and delicious filet, now it's just so-so. :( I would say go ahead and try it for yourself, just know that the value has gone down a bit. read more

I went here with my brother on Saturday at 6:30pm and we were seated right away. A server filled up our cups with water and gave us complimentary bread. We ordered a lamb rack scottadita ($42), ribeye all'Aglio ($40), and scallops ($36). It took FOREVER for our food to come out. Our server even said he was wondering why the food took so long. In total, we waited for about 50 MINUTES to get our food!!! We kept on seeing other tables that came after us get their food before us. It was torturing. The lamb was good, but it was slightly overcooked and it was a bit too salty. The scallops itself was good, but the sauce on the bottom was super salty! My brother's ribeye was BURNT AF... literally just black on the outside. Wow, what a fantastic dinner! We started with the vegetable tempura and crab cakes. Both were outstanding, with real crab in the crab cake. For the main, I had the dry aged ribeye on the bone and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked exactly as I ordered it, with a dark sear on the outside that give it layers of rich flavor. My husband had the filet and said it was also excellent. For sides, we had mushrooms, onions (not on the menu but whoa, these are the best rendition of grilled onions I've ever had. Do order it with your steak!), au gratin which was cauliflower and potatoes, and an outstanding vegetable medley that had brussels sprouts, green beans, a tiny bit of beets, and other delights. I decided to treat myself to a surf and turf while up here playing the slots. The ambiance was lovely. I had an appetizer of gnocchi with beef and mushrooms with shaved Parmesan. It was amazing! I could have made a meal of that alone. I have to say I was a little disappointed by my filet as it was over cooked. The lobster was tender and sweet. I had to try their creme brûlée for dessert. Upon reading their Yelp reviews, I was skeptical about trying Henry's. But boy, am I glad I did!! It was AMAZING. Made my reservations online, which was a breeze. They text you to confirm, which is perfect. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and decided last minute where he wanted to go. Had no issue getting a table for two on a Sunday night at 6pm a few hours in advance. I was even able to request a booth through the reservation portal. Easy peasy. Fast forward to dinner! They start you with warm, fresh bread and butter. One was a white, crusty variety, the other a soft and sweet fruit and nut bread. We ordered the sizzling shrimp scampi appetizer. It was delicious! The Caesar salad was nice - the croutons were so fresh. My boyfriend had the filet florentine. The medium rare steak was cooked to perfection and as succulent and tender as it comes! The mashed potatoes were delicious. He thought the spinach was just okay. I had the lobster mac and cheese. Prepare to be sinful and satisfied!! It was so so creamy and good. Not too oily (until you reheat the leftovers at home - I reheated in the toaster oven and drained the excess). My husband and I decided to go to dinner at Henry's for my birthday which was also Easter Sunday. When we called for reservations and asked for a booth, they got us in at 7pm. We were seated immediately and water and bread and butter were placed on the table right away. We both chose the Caesar salad which was huge and delicious! Then we had filet mignon. Hubby had 12 oz and I had 8 oz and they were both cooked perfectly. I also ordered the Bernaise sauce for my steak which was very tasty and we shared the tempura asparagus with a sweet chipotle dip. For whatever reason, the food here has gone from exceptional to mediocre. My boyfriend and I used to enjoy dining here for both the food and ambience, but now the food isn't as great. I'm not sure exactly why, the menu items are the same, but everything seems to be lacking taste now. Even the complimentary bread is different. I called the day before to secure a reservation for two at 6:30 PM. The hostess seated us right away. Our server Nick was the nicest man with a cute Italian accent. We had always wanted to try Chateaubriand for two, but were not' sure what it was. Nick explained it to us and we were sold. For appetizers, my husband had the oysters and I had the lobster bisque. Three big chunks of perfectly cooked lobster were floated on the top. The lobster was cooked so perfectly I was sure I should have ordered their two lb whole main lobster. Doesn't matter though because I was excited about the Chateaubriand. As we waited for our table side presentation, I had a dirty martini and my husband had a jack and coke. My martini was perfect! My husbands jack and coke didn't have enough Jack in it. He asked Nick to make his next one a bit stronger and he did. Sometimes you just have to ask for what you want. Bread arrived shortly after. Two Parmesan triangle flat breads and a small loaf of sourdough arrived for us to munch on. The bread could have been a bit tangier, but it was still warm and soft and yummy The table side presentation wasn't as spectacular as I thought it would be, but honestly I don't know what I was expecting. Nick sliced the perfectly cooked Chateaubriand and plated our veggies, potato and two kinds of sauce on our plates in an artistic manner. I have to say this was one good steak. The meat was so tender I barley had to chew it. The bourdolies sauce and Bearnaise sauce complimented the flavors of the steak.I almost licked the plate clean. For dessert we shared the Creme Brule trio. We each too a bite and weren't to impressed. The thing I love about Creme Brule is the breaking of the sugar glass on top. These appeared to only have some Sugar sprinkled on top and only toasted , not burnt into a hard top. Oh well, we were full anyway The tab with tip came to 185 dollars. Not bad for a three courses meal. We have spent twice that at Ruth Chris's. As we were leaving to try our luck up at the Casino, the bar was full with people waiting for a table and there was a line out the door. Some people looked ticked off at having to wait. I'd totally go back for it, except that I was completely disappointed in the service and the wait time. My grandpa tried to joke with our server (whose name I won't use) and asked him something like, "Are YOU Henry?" I thought it was cute. The server seemed irritated and told my grandpa that that's just the name of the restaurant. Then, he got our drink orders and shuffled off. Throughout our meal, I don't think he smiled at any of us once. The food itself took so long to get to our table, even though we were seated right at 5, when they open for dinner. We watched other people get their orders and our server didn't even check in to tell us where our food was until 45+ minutes after we ordered. Then he did a quick check in, telling us it was almost ready. That wasn't true, either. No one else was as impressed with their food as I was and my family left looking pretty unhappy. With banners touting Henry's Steakhouse "The Best Steakhouse" in the area, the claim is rather misleading, due to the lack of both steakhouses and fine dining establishments in this rural, extended suburb town outside of Sacramento. While celebrating a birthday, we opted for dinner at Henry's, due to the proximity of the restaurant to where were staying. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the host and seated, we found all of the restaurant staff was very friendly, however, the restaurant itself felt like a hotel lobby with artificial flowers both on the table and as general decor. With prices similar to Ruth's Chris, the consensus was that the food was far better at Ruth's, which has a local outlet in Sacramento. The food itself had mixed reviews. Those in the party who had the Wagyu streak reported that it was both bland and flat. Thee rest of the items ordered, which included gratin potatoes, a ribeye and fillet were fine. Salads and the lobster bisque were given a thumbs up. While the price points are no higher than a typical steak house, such as The Palm and Ruth's Chris, the ambiance lent itself more to dining a Hilton hotel. read more

First off, This was a Congrats for getting a job at Red Hawk dinner for my niece. Now down to the nitty gritty. My last review showed that I was not that impressed but it goes to show how things can change dramatically if the boss does their job by paying attention to their customers. So great job Boss! I had called here two times on Friday to get reservations for Christmas Eve. I was told I would be receiving a call back as they had to check with the maitre d. I didn't get a call back until Monday evening and then another one on Tuesday. A person from our party had already gone in and made the reservation in person. This wasn't exactly a good start but I know the place has only been open a few days and are still working out the kinks. So, tonight was the night to check it out. It wasn't too busy as our reservation was for 5:00. Our waiter was super friendly as was the rest of the servers who tended our table. Our table was a pub style table with tall chairs that were really comfortable. It was in a room off to the side of the main dining area. It was really nice to have a private room to ourselves. The menu is nice and varied with small plate options like sliders, foie gras sandwich and butternut squash ravioli. They have quite a few steak options like filet mignon, rib eye, salt crusted prime rib, Delmonico, lamb shank, veal and pork chops. They also offer crab legs, lobster tail and some fish options that I didn't pay any attention to. A few people had the dinner salad that was nice sized and I tasted the blue cheese dressing and it was excellent. Three of us ordered the prime rib that came with Yorkshire pudding, one of us ordered the filet mignon, one the Delmonico and the last person ordered a dry aged cut that I can't recall the exact name of. The prime rib (14oz $25, 24oz $38) was decent as was the pudding. We had to ask for horseradish and were brought some weak flavored sauce that I didn't care for. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare and was bright red (more on the rare side), the dry aged cut I can't remember the name of was described as "not rare and dry" and the Delmonico was described as perfect. The side options we chose (approx. $6-$9 each) were broccoli w/ cheese, smoked macaroni & cheese and fingerling potatoes. I only tried the smoked macaroni and cheese and it was bland and not smokey at all. I was very disappointed with it. Overall, I think the restaurant has potential but just needs to work on consistency. The service and atmosphere were definitely worthy of another visit. Too bad I hate casinos. read more

This restaurant not only looks nice!! but we can't leave Placerville or Redhawk Casino without having a wonderful dinner here!! Nick is our favorite waiter, he is professional, funny, friendly, nice, conversationable, knowledgable, & just does a great job at servicing us!! Everyone here is so welcoming! The one appetizer dish I love to order (which they don't have listed as an appetizer anymore) is the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes w/ roasted lemon garlic aioli. Once you've tried this, I guarantee you will order it again the next time you come back. The 24 oz Porterhouse & 24 oz Bone-in Ribeye are my husband's favorite! Must try!! Very tasty & tendor!! and don't forget to pair it up w/ a nice glass of wine (your waiter can suggest to you which wine will compliment your entree). I like to order the Himalayan Salt Brick Roasted Half Free Range Chicken, Thai Style Halibut or the lobster tail for my entree, I guess it just depends on my mood at that time. All of their dishes are fabulous w/ a flavorful taste. Along w/ our meal, we also order side dishes to compliment it, just to name a few (these are our usuals) creamed Spinach, wild mushroom medley, Sautéed Spinach/Garlic, mashed potatoes & this is plenty enough to share with 3-4 people so don't be greedy. Sharing is caring!! We've tried all of the desserts, not too thrilled so don't really have a favorite. The one dessert that we like the most is the chocolate bomb cake w/ orange filling inside but unfortunately, they don't serve this any more, hopefully they will bring it back : ( Overall, we love dining at this restaurant, great food, awesome chefs, wonderful servers, awesome service, just everything about it is ALL GREAT!! Did I mention that their silverwares are very clean & shiny!! This is definitely good house keeping. OK, let me start out by saying I have earned my Yelp! Elite status 2 years in a row due to my writing skills ( I believe ) and it is not reflective of the places I frequently visit. I primarily enjoy eating pizza and have written around 30 reviews for different pizza places in my town and along with all my other reviews I receive high marks all around. I am not a culinary critic or master and I am DEFINITELY not a food snob, so I cannot critique what I really don't know and truth be told I like my food plain and simple. That being said I was invited to a VIP reception at Henry's Steakhouse at the RedHawk Casino along with my Aunt and I really didn't expect much cos I thought it would be an average dinner at a run-of-the-mill place. WHOA! WAS I WRONG ON ALL COUNTS. This was my first experience at a casino and I really enjoyed it ( and even made a little money at the slot machines ) but the restaurants, OH OMG, the RESTAURANTS looked delightful and when we got to Henry's reception the food was not only FIRST-CLASS ALL THE WAY but it was expertly, exquisitely prepared as well. They gave us a buffet-style menu chock-full of expertly prepared dishes that were a feast not only for the eyes but for the senses too. Poached salmon, creamed brussel sprouts, yummy Beef stroganoff and other things I don't even know what to name, but the DESSERTS were another highlight and that is where I spent most of my time. Eclairs, homemade danishes, brownies, chocolate cake, chocolate covered strawberries, creme brulee, etc. WHEN THEY SAID VIP THEY REALLY MEANT IT. I even had to ask for a non-alcoholic beverage ( they were taken aback by that! ) according to my specifications and the service! They would take your plate away and clean up after you right as you left the table and went back for more. They were all so courteous and their attention to the customer was superb. I spoke to one of the managers there ( a fine fellow named Nicholas ) and he showed me the usual menu and I saw all the great things that a usual top-notch steakhouse would serve, all at standard top-notch prices. We happen to go there instead of the all you can eat buffet across the way. (Note: If you don't know, Henry's is located inside the Red Hawk Casino, so there are multiple places to eat within each other.) Because of this, we were casually dressed (jeans and a polo) as we were out for some birthday fun for my wife. We were greeted kindly and immediately you realize this place is much nicer than the other places to eat. It's a steakhouse, so it has a steakhouse atmosphere (as far as any good steakhouse should be), where it's dimly lit (not like a bar), but lit well over your table, full bar, votive candles on each table, nice seats and seating arrangements, eager to assist staff, who is knowledgeable of their menu and meats, and their presentation was done well. I had the ribeye and it was prepared the way I asked for it. I asked for it rare and they made it rare. We also had the pate, crab cakes, lobster bisque, calamari, and of all things, onion rings. I do have to say the onion rings were actually unique enough for me to make mention of it. Overall, their food was wonderful. That being said, this is expected for this class of restaurant. Would I give is 5-Star? No I won't, but not because it doesn't deserve it. I only give 5-stars for exceptional situations, so consider this when considering my review. This is an expensive restaurant for several reason. Generally speaking the prices are a little less than other steakhouses I've been to, but everything is al a cart. Because of this, paying for a $35 steak and a few sides and appetizers will shoot you past $60 a person quickly. Henry's a nice place to eat if you're willing to spend the money for a nice atmosphere, good wine list, and of course good food. I would recommend this for special occasions or if you simply have money to burn. It's worth giving it a shot at least once. read more

Service does not meet the price point or the quality of the food. If you're going to pretend to be a high end steakhouse, the service needs to match. Dined with a group last night and it took so long! At the end, just wanted to get out of there. Half eaten plates go unnoticed by the staff. 5 star prices, 2 star service. Better off going to Mel's next door, at least you get what you are paying for. read more
