When Henry's is good, they're great! But inconsistency is occasionally the story. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten at Henry's many times, but several instances I have had to send back my medium-rare order because it was cooked medium-well. Great menu and wine selection. Since the pandemic, they are only open weekends, so call ahead or reserve online. $$$$ read more

As we had our dinner we started to do a comparison between Thunder Valley's High Steaks and Henry's Steakhouse definitely comes in last. Their service is slow and staff are not friendly/welcoming. We had calamari which was slightly over cooked, soaps were good but when it came to the ribeye steak they were both fatty which is pour for a high priced steak house. The asparagus was flavorless and hard left almost all of it on my plate and why would you serve an expensive steak with potato wedges that were over cooked! This dinner was NOT AT All worth $150 for two.. read more

I always enjoy dining here because it's nice and quiet despite the fact its under a loud casino. I don't gamble which for some odd reason heightens the dining experience for me. I think it's because other than paying the check and tips for server/parking valets I'm leaving with every dollar I came in with. Lol read more

Made a special trip here today to take advantage of the 2 pound live Maine lobster for $39.99. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/6xYH8eYjJq0rw8s6KUpb8Q?select=bzKLz2PX2KGvccoTXq9Unw I had a $10 food credit which brought it down to $29.99 which I thought was a decent deal even though it is ala carte. Sides are in the $7 to $9 range. I ordered a bowl...more like a tea cup...of the 5 onion french soup...that was 8 bucks. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/6xYH8eYjJq0rw8s6KUpb8Q?select=7c47qMnGw5AHkNQBCrLhIw Soup was awesome.. 5 kinds of onions and 3 kinds of cheeses. Full of rich broth flavor and lots of yummy gooey cheese. But there was only about 10 teaspoons in the very small cast iron crock. That's about a buck a spoonful! Need to up the portions a bit. Great selection of breads http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/6xYH8eYjJq0rw8s6KUpb8Q?select=RspDc0saQVx9kTvzT14MeQ The lobster... they should have left the poor guy in Maine. I don't remember lobster being as tough and chewy as this guy. I am not a lobster expert so I can't tell you if it was the lobster itself or the way/length of time that it was cooked. Going here today was a waste of my time and money. Only redemption was that I won enough to pay for my dinner plus! The restaurant is nice... quite and smoke free. You would not know you are in a casino. The wait staff was fabulous! Very friendly and attentive. All my needs were taken care of in a timely manner. Kudos to the staff! The two stars are for the lobster... I would give the soup four stars and the wait staff five stars. But since I will not be returning to this restaurant it gets only two stars because it was not 'ok' today! Maybe other entrees would be better. Total bill before discounts for my soup and lobster was fifty bucks! read more

We went to Henrys thinking it was going to be a decent steak house. It was very pretentious and the service was bad. 1. Who orders a half glass of wine? Why don't you just put one price per glass. 2. They try to hard. I didn't need a golf ball sized blob of green butter on my vat of mashed potatoes. I thought they were being festive for St. Patricks day. 3. The filet mignon that if I was a waiter I would have been embarrassed to serve. It literally looked like they cut a chunk off my boyfriends filet and put it on this enormous plate with a sprig of parsley and 3 garlic cloves. For 27 dollars it was unreal. It really wasn't even 6 oz when they started over cooking it. I will be uploading the photos. 4. We ordered dessert to share and it took a half hour. They then proceeded to split it up on 2 plates. Which to me was odd. I don't know if it's that I'm spoiled and have been dining in all the best restaurants in San Francisco since I was a child but they didn't hit the mark. We could have spent the same amount at Ruth Chris, Harris', Public House and Morton's and they would have been half as pretentious. I guess it is what it is. read more

Fancy steakhouse within Red Hawk casino This classy joint sure has a great atmosphere. We only came for the drinks at the bar, but even without sitting down for a full meal you can tell the place is fancy, with a nice decor, smooth background music, and well dressed waitstaff and hostesses. This is essentially the place where the people who won money go celebrate, or those who are rich enough to spend a lot! Unfortunately, the bartender was not very knowledgeable--she was clearly new, and she had trouble with finding where things where, how much to charge, who to charge, and basically everything from start to end. When I asked for an "Old Fashioned", she made me a pink drink in a martini class, with a cherry on top. Definitely not what I wanted! Might be worthwhile to have more training first before dealing with paying customers, especially given the amount of effort put into making the place so fancy! In any case, not a bad place to visit if you don't want to go to the packed buffet across the hall. read more

We came to Red hawk for the food rather than gambling. The restaurant was very nice and classy with polite service. Our waiter was kind and never let our water glasses go empty. Our party had the shrimp cocktails, calamari, and a variety of steaks. I personally had their Surf and Turf which is basically an 8oz filet mignon with half a pound of lobster tail. This was one of the most satisfying steak dishes I've had in a while. The lobster tail was probably my favorite and the filet mignon was incredibly tender. At first, I thought the portion sounded and looked small, but I was wrong. It's filled me up and satisfied very well. Great! (: read more

i love their brazino dish. the fish was moist, hot and taste so goodddddd. i love it so much i order 2 more. the beet salad was delicious. great place to eat and watch sports, live music but not great all the time. they play too many sad songs instead of more upbeat songs that the average customer can sing along. it get cold at night read more

Besides the fact that this place is expensive, overall I like the ambience, and food. We ordered the Surf and Turf, Grilled Rack of Lamb, Wood-Fired Asparagus with Herbed Butter, and Crispy Calamari. I had the medium rare Lamb which I thought was well delivered. My dinner companion had the Surf and Turf and thought that it was good. The crispy calamari were actually crispy and delicious, and the asparagus were crunchy. Yummm! Our server was very accommodating. :) This place is great for special occasions. I'd definitely come back. read more

11/21/09 with my GF and 2 friends Went in for a nice dinner here on Saturday night with friends and didn't even making any reservation. Our family of five enjoyed a wonderful dinner here tonight. (3-13-2022) Our server, Katie, could not have been better. She was patient, kind and very attentive to our table, making sure everything was satisfactory. She's very professional and super friendly which we thoroughly enjoyed. I was celebrating my birthday and Katie gave me a complimentary dessert of my choice from the menu. So many times restaurants bring a dish of ice cream for birthdays, so this was a nice surprise. I made a remark about their complimentary bread. They bake it there and I really liked it. When she brought our doggie bag to the table she had added a loaf of their bread to the bag because I told her I thought it was so good. That was so sweet and unexpected. Our steak and fish dinners couldn't have been better. Katie truly made the experience top notch. Also because my husband is a Navy veteran, we were given a 10% discount on our entire meal. We look forward to returning for another fine dining experience soon. Thank you for a great dinner. read more

This place was very disappointing. I got a $68 dollar rib eye. They brought it sizzling in a cast iron pan and sliced into strips. Anyone who knows how to cook a steak knows that you let it rest after you cook it, before you cut it. The pan continued to cook my medium rare steak to very well done, with a raw center. Then masked it with garlic butter, so all the flavor ran out and all it was was garlic and flavorless meat. I've had better steaks at Applebee's. My wife got the braised short ribs, also flavorless. Deserts were good and service was good, but the steaks were garbage. Never going back read more

Pricy but worth every penny. Henry's is tucked away in the downstairs area and isolated from a lot of the casino noise and hustle The three course meal was great and only exceeded by the amazing service. From Nick or waiter to Alice the server and two others we were watched over but not intrusively so. They manage to make you feel you are the only person there even though the place is full. And lets not forget the bar selection.. for my personal favorite, scotch, they had everything from Bar Scotch to $85 a glass mothers milk...nice/ Total dinner for two came to about $150 with tip and a couple of drinks.. then it was back to the tables and I won that much back.. (Yeah.. I am sure those events are connected.. grin) try it. you will enjoy it. read more

I give this place 2 stars because the staff was very nice and the ambience was lovely. Drove the hour to this place to try something new. We are accustomed to nicer steakhouses like Morton's of Chicago and Ruth's Chris. The food was not deserving of the lavish praise given on some of these reviews. I ordered the $58 Ribeye. It comes on a sizzling cast iron plate with potatoes and seasonal veggies. The steak came covered with what I would call an onion infused butter that was easily the size of 3 large tablespoons full. It was beyond overkill. It absolutely ruined the meat. The sides were drab at best. I will say the Caesar salad was quite nice. My father had the filet mignon and was stunned by the blandness of the meat. Unfortunately for both of us we have spent the greater part of this evening in the restroom after we ate here if you catch my drift. Now for the unfortunate part. Mind you, the service was quite friendly. However, slow doesn't begin to convey how glacial a pace they have from the start. I don't mind being patient at all, but 30 minutes to get your check and leave is a bit trying on the patience. I guess I will chock up the chronic delays on perhaps a short staffing issue. Bright spot....the support staff of folks refilling water was very attentive. All in all for us not worth the drive. read more

Fine dining at its best!! I came here with my in-laws for dinner before they all ventured off to gamble. Food was great and staff were all friendly!! Just finished dining at Henry's. Ribeye steak was a little thin but flavorful. After a disappointing dinner at the once great Mortons, the return to Henry's Steakhouse was a must. We learned to appreciate this place that much more. The menus have changed, though. No more Cioppino. Sad. It was sooooo good, too. The variety of steaks were narrowed down and less enticing than before. Hopefully, this will be the last of the changes. Any more than this will turn it onto another fancy coffee house with steaks. read more

I went here with my brother on Saturday at 6:30pm and we were seated right away. A server filled up our cups with water and gave us complimentary bread. We ordered a lamb rack scottadita ($42), ribeye all'Aglio ($40), and scallops ($36). It took FOREVER for our food to come out. Our server even said he was wondering why the food took so long. In total, we waited for about 50 MINUTES to get our food!!! We kept on seeing other tables that came after us get their food before us. It was torturing. The lamb was good, but it was slightly overcooked and it was a bit too salty. The scallops itself was good, but the sauce on the bottom was super salty! My brother's ribeye was BURNT AF... literally just black on the outside. It is partially my brother's fault because he ordered his ribeye well-done, but the outside shouldn't be just all black. read more

We really enjoy eating at Henry's. The food is very tasty, it's a classy restaurant with enjoyable and knowledgeable staff. I always order a salad and filet Mignon a la carte because the mashed potatoes you get with the regular meal is on the salty side. There's one thing that I've noticed over the past year or 2, the Filet Mignon has been getting smaller and smaller and smaller, but the price stays the same at $45. I used to get a filet that was, I would say at least twice as big, thick and juicy before and now it's only a 6 oz, thin filet. and on the dry side. This is unfortunate because I always looked forward to getting that nice big juicy and delicious filet, now it's just so-so. :( I would say go ahead and try it for yourself, just know that the value has gone down a bit. read more

I've been here a few times and I don't understand the negative reviews. We've always experienced great service even when we went without a reservation. With no reservation, we had to wait an hour and a half for a table but it's well worth the wait in my opinion and good thing there's a casino to keep you occupied while you wait. Waiters have always been fantastic and friendly and informative. The first time I came here I ordered the wrong thing based on my personal preferences. Second time I ordered a filet and it was perfect. Melted in my mouth. Do yourselves a favor and order the lyonnaise potatoes. You won't be disappointed. read more

Wow, what a fantastic dinner! We started with the vegetable tempura and crab cakes. Both were outstanding, with real crab in the crab cake. For the main, I had the dry aged ribeye on the bone and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cooked exactly as I ordered it, with a dark sear on the outside that give it layers of rich flavor. My husband had the filet and said it was also excellent. For sides, we had mushrooms, onions (not on the menu but whoa, these are the best rendition of grilled onions I've ever had. Do order it with your steak!), au gratin which was cauliflower and potatoes, and an outstanding vegetable medley that had brussels sprouts, green beans, a tiny bit of beets, and other delights. We also love our waiter, Nick. He took great care of us and helped make our celebration of two special events even more special. p.s. this was way too much food for two people!!! :-) read more

My husband and I went last night for our anniversary. We have been numerous times in the past but not for a few years. I gotta say I was disappointed. I decided to treat myself to a surf and turf while up here playing the slots. The ambiance was lovely. I had an appetizer of gnocchi with beef and mushrooms with shaved Parmesan. It was amazing! I could have made a meal of that alone. I have to say I was a little disappointed by my filet as it was over cooked. The lobster was tender and sweet. I had to try their creme brûlée for dessert. It was good but nothing spectacular. I had just had pineapple creme brûlée at the steak house at Thunder Valley and it was beyond amazing. We ate at Henry's on Christmas. Usually eating out on holidays means small menus with formula meals. Not here! We had a fantastic meal. Best prime rib any of us have ever had, it is real prime. Cooked perfectly. Their tempura vegetables with spicy aoli are delicious. Biggest short rib I've ever seen, tender and yummy. The only drawback was the chicken marsala, it was a bit dry and not great. Service was excellent even tho they were very busy. Cocktails were delicious. Can't wait to go again! read more

I called the day before to secure a reservation for two at 6:30 PM. The hostess seated us right away. Our server Nick was the nicest man with a cute Italian accent. We had always wanted to try Chateaubriand for two, but were not' sure what it was. Nick explained it to us and we were sold. For appetizers, my husband had the oysters and I had the lobster bisque. Three big chunks of perfectly cooked lobster were floated on the top. The lobster was cooked so perfectly I was sure I should have ordered their two lb whole main lobster. Doesn't matter though because I was excited about the Chateaubriand. As we waited for our table side presentation, I had a dirty martini and my husband had a jack and coke. My martini was perfect! My husbands jack and coke didn't have enough Jack in it. He asked Nick to make his next one a bit stronger and he did. Sometimes you just have to ask for what you want. Bread arrived shortly after. Two Parmesan triangle flat breads and a small loaf of sourdough arrived for us to munch on. The bread could have been a bit tangier, but it was still warm and soft and yummy The table side presentation wasn't as spectacular as I thought it would be, but honestly I don't know what I was expecting. Nick sliced the perfectly cooked Chateaubriand and plated our veggies, potato and two kinds of sauce on our plates in an artistic manner. I have to say this was one good steak. The meat was so tender I barley had to chew it. The bourdolies sauce and Bearnaise sauce complimented the flavors of the steak.I almost licked the plate clean. For dessert we shared the Creme Brule trio. We each too a bite and weren't to impressed. The thing I love about Creme Brule is the breaking of the sugar glass on top. These appeared to only have some Sugar sprinkled on top and only toasted , not burnt into a hard top. Oh well, we were full anyway The tab with tip came to 185 dollars. Not bad for a three courses meal. We have spent twice that at Ruth Chris's. As we were leaving to try our luck up at the Casino, the bar was full with people waiting for a table and there was a line out the door. Some people looked ticked off at having to wait. My advice would be to make a reservation a day or two before you go and you will have no problems.. read more

"We were invited to Henry's Steak House by Redhawk Casino. Our previous dining experiences on nights that cater to Players have been great! But on November 22, we were very disappointed. The meat was tough and my husband and I weren't the only disappointed patrons, two other couples who dined with us said the same thing. The broccolini was tasteless. We found ourselves eating salad, cheeses and fruit, which were delicious, but hardly filling. The desserts were done well. I found out today (12-17-26) after voicing my experience to staff that the Redhawk Casino invites Chefs from the area to prepare the meals. All I have to say is whoever prepared the buffet should not be invited back!" read more

I had the halibut and it was perfection! Very tasty tomato confit and a deliciously tart wine/lemon sauce over a potato and pea hash. I'd totally go back for it, except that I was completely disappointed in the service and the wait time. My grandpa tried to joke with our server (whose name I won't use) and asked him something like, "Are YOU Henry?" I thought it was cute. The server seemed irritated and told my grandpa that that's just the name of the restaurant. Then, he got our drink orders and shuffled off. Throughout our meal, I don't think he smiled at any of us once. The food itself took so long to get to our table, even though we were seated right at 5, when they open for dinner. We watched other people get their orders and our server didn't even check in to tell us where our food was until 45+ minutes after we ordered. Then he did a quick check in, telling us it was almost ready. That wasn't true, either. No one else was as impressed with their food as I was and my family left looking pretty unhappy. I hate seeing my family leave a place disappointed and I know that if the service had at least been decent, they wouldn't have minded so much. Look, for the price and the wait time, the food had better be good...and it was, at least for me. Needless to say, I won;t be back...although I'd take it if anyone wants to deliver some halibut to me. read more

With banners touting Henry's Steakhouse "The Best Steakhouse" in the area, the claim is rather misleading, due to the lack of both steakhouses and fine dining establishments in this rural, extended suburb town outside of Sacramento. While celebrating a birthday, we opted for dinner at Henry's, due to the proximity of the restaurant to where were staying. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the host and seated, we found all of the restaurant staff was very friendly, however, the restaurant itself felt like a hotel lobby with artificial flowers both on the table and as general decor. With prices similar to Ruth's Chris, the consensus was that the food was far better at Ruth's, which has a local outlet in Sacramento. The food itself had mixed reviews. Those in the party who had the Wagyu streak reported that it was both bland and flat. Thee rest of the items ordered, which included gratin potatoes, a ribeye and fillet were fine. Salads and the lobster bisque were given a thumbs up. While the price points are no higher than a typical steak house, such as The Palm and Ruth's Chris, the ambiance lent itself more to dining a Hilton hotel. read more

Upon reading their Yelp reviews, I was skeptical about trying Henry's. But boy, am I glad I did!! It was AMAZING. Made my reservations online, which was a breeze. They text you to confirm, which is perfect. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and decided last minute where he wanted to go. Had no issue getting a table for two on a Sunday night at 6pm a few hours in advance. I was even able to request a booth through the reservation portal. Easy peasy. Fast forward to dinner! They start you with warm, fresh bread and butter. One was a white, crusty variety, the other a soft and sweet fruit and nut bread. We ordered the sizzling shrimp scampi appetizer. It was delicious! The Caesar salad was nice - the croutons were so fresh. My boyfriend had the filet florentine. The medium rare steak was cooked to perfection and as succulent and tender as it comes! The mashed potatoes were delicious. He thought the spinach was just okay. I had the lobster mac and cheese. Prepare to be sinful and satisfied!! It was so so creamy and good. Not too oily (until you reheat the leftovers at home - I reheated in the toaster oven and drained the excess). I also ordered a side of charbroiled asparagus that was tender yet crisp - it was cooked perfectly. The Chef was spot on tonight! The servers and bussers were impeccable....clearing plates, filling water, bringing the next dish....they were on top of it all! It was a perfect symphony of teamwork. I was impressed! Granted, it was not terribly busy and as it should be, they really delivered with service! Then again, have you ever been to a place that is slow and all the servers seem to be MIA? This was not the case and I was very pleased! Although we did not need dessert, we are the indulgent type and were celebrating a birthday after all! For him, a decadent, sweet chocolaty brownie in an edible chocolate bowl with creme anglais and ice cream. For me, curried cookie crumble with a mouth-watering homemade caramel, candied pecans, creme anglais and fennel ice cream. This was by far one of the best meals I have enjoyed in El Dorado County. Frankly, the only downside was having to walk through a smoky, bustling casino to get there. But if you hit that jackpot, treating yourself to a dinner at Henry's is an absolute must. To Henry's: Keep up the superior standards, excellent quality and great work! Thank you for ensuring a wonderful birthday celebration and happy, satisfied belly! read more

I had called here two times on Friday to get reservations for Christmas Eve. I was told I would be receiving a call back as they had to check with the maitre d. I didn't get a call back until Monday evening and then another one on Tuesday. A person from our party had already gone in and made the reservation in person. This wasn't exactly a good start but I know the place has only been open a few days and are still working out the kinks. So, tonight was the night to check it out. It wasn't too busy as our reservation was for 5:00. Our waiter was super friendly as was the rest of the servers who tended our table. Our table was a pub style table with tall chairs that were really comfortable. It was in a room off to the side of the main dining area. It was really nice to have a private room to ourselves. The menu is nice and varied with small plate options like sliders, foie gras sandwich and butternut squash ravioli. They have quite a few steak options like filet mignon, rib eye, salt crusted prime rib, Delmonico, lamb shank, veal and pork chops. They also offer crab legs, lobster tail and some fish options that I didn't pay any attention to. A few people had the dinner salad that was nice sized and I tasted the blue cheese dressing and it was excellent. Three of us ordered the prime rib that came with Yorkshire pudding, one of us ordered the filet mignon, one the Delmonico and the last person ordered a dry aged cut that I can't recall the exact name of. The prime rib (14oz $25, 24oz $38) was decent as was the pudding. We had to ask for horseradish and were brought some weak flavored sauce that I didn't care for. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare and was bright red (more on the rare side), the dry aged cut I can't remember the name of was described as "not rare and dry" and the Delmonico was described as perfect. The side options we chose (approx. $6-$9 each) were broccoli w/ cheese, smoked macaroni & cheese and fingerling potatoes. I only tried the smoked macaroni and cheese and it was bland and not smokey at all. I was very disappointed with it. Overall, I think the restaurant has potential but just needs to work on consistency. The service and atmosphere were definitely worthy of another visit. Too bad I hate casinos. read more

This restaurant not only looks nice!! but we can't leave Placerville or Redhawk Casino without having a wonderful dinner here!! Nick is our favorite waiter, he is professional, funny, friendly, nice, conversationable, knowledgable, & just does a great job at servicing us!! Everyone here is so welcoming! The one appetizer dish I love to order (which they don't have listed as an appetizer anymore) is the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes w/ roasted lemon garlic aioli. Once you've tried this, I guarantee you will order it again the next time you come back. The 24 oz Porterhouse & 24 oz Bone-in Ribeye are my husband's favorite! Must try!! Very tasty & tendor!! and don't forget to pair it up w/ a nice glass of wine (your waiter can suggest to you which wine will compliment your entree). I like to order the Himalayan Salt Brick Roasted Half Free Range Chicken, Thai Style Halibut or the lobster tail for my entree, I guess it just depends on my mood at that time. All of their dishes are fabulous w/ a flavorful taste. Along w/ our meal, we also order side dishes to compliment it, just to name a few (these are our usuals) creamed Spinach, wild mushroom medley, Sautéed Spinach/Garlic, mashed potatoes & this is plenty enough to share with 3-4 people so don't be greedy. Sharing is caring!! We've tried all of the desserts, not too thrilled so don't really have a favorite. The one dessert that we like the most is the chocolate bomb cake w/ orange filling inside but unfortunately, they don't serve this any more, hopefully they will bring it back : ( Overall, we love dining at this restaurant, great food, awesome chefs, wonderful servers, awesome service, just everything about it is ALL GREAT!! Did I mention that their silverwares are very clean & shiny!! This is definitely good house keeping.
