It's also such a great place to bring the kids and let them run around while the adults kick back with a cold beer. Super laid-back vibe and just an easy place to hang out. I've tried quite a few things on the menu, but my all-time favorite is hands down the PICKLE PIZZA. Soooo good!! Now I just need to make it out for one of their line dancing nights! Love having a place like this in Cameron Park and even more that it's become one of our go-to spots.

My husband and I work a lot, kids are out of the house. So we love finding new restaurants and trying them out. We live in Cameron Park and usually go to Placerville, EDH or Folsom for dinner. One beautiful Fall day I decided to find a restaurant in Cameron Park. I thought, what about Snooty Frog?? I grew up in this town and my husband is somewhat new to the area. I knew Snooty Frog had been around for many years but never tried it. So I called and made reservations. Put on my lip gloss, fed my dogs and hopped in our car for a nice evening out. Or so we thought. I was humiliated. It was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. Ever. We walked in and there was only 1 other couple in the corner. An older lady in the kitchen and an older man who said nothing when we walked in. He just stared at us. So I spoke up and said, we are here for dinner, we have reservations. He interrupted me and took us to a table. He practically tossed the menu at me and abruptly walked away. He then walked over to the table where the only other couple was sitting at in the corner and started to talk to them. They must have been friends. 10 minutes pass, I really want wine, another 5 minutes pass, He walks by us and does not say a word. He walked over to the bar and grabbed a bottle of wine, walked by us again and didn't say a word. He poured a glass to his friends in the corner and then got right back into a conversation with them. I was shocked. Even the couple sitting at the table looked shocked. The man then walked passed us again and I tried to get his attention, he ignored more. Now keep in mind, there is nobody in this restaurant except for the couple in the corner, us and 1 lady in the kitchen area. Another couple walks in and he knows them too! He seats them at the bar and pours them wine. Now we are getting close to 20 minutes and he is STILL ignoring us. My husband is shocked. We are shocked. If this man was trying to hurt our feelings, he did a great job. He made us feel really stupid.My husband and I kept looking over at him, he knew damn well we were waiting and he did not care. It was if he was trying to get us to leave. We got up to walk out and he just looked up and smiled. Why have a business if you are going to treat people that way?? Why take my reservation? Who the hell do you think you are?? Not only will we never go back there but I have told and will continue to share how YOU the owner treated us, for no reason at ALL. Whatever your problem was that evening with us, is your problem not mine. Take your frog and shove it. read more

Powell's fits perfectly into that setting. It has that classic, slightly old-school feel that makes you want to sit down, order something fresh, and stay for a while. I came here with my mom, and since she doesn't really eat raw food, we split our choices a little differently. I ordered the oysters on the half shell, while she went with the steamed clams. The oysters were excellent. Extremely fresh, clean tasting, and exactly what I want when ordering raw oysters. With oysters, there really isn't much room to hide. If they're fresh, you know immediately, and these absolutely were. I enjoyed every one of them. The steamed clams were a great choice for my mom. They came in a buttery, flavorful broth with bread on the side, and it was a nice way for both of us to enjoy seafood together even though we have very different preferences when it comes to raw food. We also tried a couple of beers, which were good, although looking back, I probably should have ordered a glass of white wine or Prosecco with the oysters. A crisp Prosecco would have been a great pairing with something this fresh. Next time. The staff were also genuinely polite and welcoming throughout the meal. Nothing felt rushed, and the whole experience had that relaxed Saturday-afternoon feeling that I was hoping for when we came to Placerville. What I liked most was that the restaurant felt very much like part of historic downtown rather than somewhere that could be dropped into any city. Good seafood, an old-town setting, friendly service, and a chance to sit down and enjoy the afternoon with my mom. That's really what made the experience memorable. I'll definitely be back. Placerville is close enough to Folsom that this could easily become one of those places worth making the short drive for, especially when I'm craving fresh oysters and want an excuse to spend another afternoon on Main Street.

Furthermore, a few of my friends at the table also heard that the owner is really unprofessional and rude. It's unlikely any of us are I'll tell you in a will return, and I would advise others to exercise caution when ordering drinks here. A simple acknowledgment and willingness to rectify the situation could have made a significant difference in our experience. It's a shame that a fun night out was overshadowed by such poor management. Go elsewhere.
