Great service! Our waiter, Jack, checked on us often and kept our drinks refilled. They family had pork steak, delicious turkey, brisket, and sausage. Serving sizes were reasonable and the sides were great. Personal pies were a creative dessert. We will be back! read more

Our new favorite restaurant. Great pulled pork sandwich. Love their bbq Cobb salad too! Cornbread & sauces are delicious. Do yourself a favor and try this place now! read more

Great BBQ with a beautiful western look on the interior. I always get the pulled pork sandwich. The deck is actually one of my favorite parts about the place. read more

Love the food here, the Mac and cheese is amazing and the service is usually top notch!!

got the pick 3 with pulled pork, brisket and smoked turkey and it was all dry and definitely not the best. the waitress was rude and never gave anyone at our table a refill and was very quiet and mumbled and just wasn't friendly at all or attentive. the green beans tasted like they were made with doo doo toilet water. never coming back. also to top it off it is ridiculously over priced and automatically charged a 20% gratuity tip. the waitress honestly did not deserve a tip‍‍ read more

I went here for the first time today with my 4 year old son and left very disappointed. The food was fantastic, but the following 3 things left me reeling: bad service, price, and food portion. We went on a Sunday afternoon with around 10 other patrons in the whole restaurant. Our waitress was so slow, rarely even checked on us, and had an attitude. I spent $30 on myself and a kids meal, and the portions looked like they came out of ice cream scoops, including the frickin meat! I will not be returning here. If you want great BBQ for a good price that will fill you up, try Lil mickeys BBQ in St. Peters. read more

Fantastic family-friendly restaurant. Everything is masterfully made from scratch and the liquor selection is incredible. Get Brian to mix you a Sazerac or Old Fashioned, throw in some smoked sausage and ribs, and you'll be in heaven. read more

The BBQ was pretty good but the strawberry moonshine was outstanding!

Went to Hendricks wanted Ribs being from Ca wanted a different taste of BBQ. We where told they had No Ribs and no BBQ chicken. The size of there side were the same as home BUT there Meat portion where to small for the price I paid not to mention My pull pork sandwich was dry and had no cold slaw on it. I order another side of pull pork dry. I'm taking my food back in the morning for a refund. The corn dish was not good I was not impressed at all. The yeast bread was good Will not be back. I gave 1 star read more

Where to start about hendricks. Horrible service...... not our servers fault. We showed up and the stuck us at a table not easily accessible to said server. I could see the server being overworked so I'm not passing blame to this person at all. The fooooodddddd wassssss groooossss. There is nothing worse than taking one bite of a pulled pork popover and tasting only. The breading and no hint of the smoked ghouda boasted on the menu. Or the meat for that matter. Everything else was just ok. That all I have to say about this place. read more

This is a great, casual restaurant with the feel of a "Famous Dave's BBQ" and a similar menu. I had the smoked beef brisket dinner plate and it was, probably, the best smoke meet I have ever had. Their homemade BBQ sauces are very good. The Saint Louis (labeled STL on the bottle) and the Hot are the best. The Pork BBQ rub is fantastic!!! read more

Good place! Nice outdoor sitting area! Bbq was pretty good and service decent as well!

I was in town for business and after checking into my hotel, I searched for the closest BBQ place. I wasn't sure what I'd find at Hendricks but I was pleasantly surprised as I was driving through the neighborhood. I liked the small town feel. Since I was by myself, I had planned on taking it to go and eating at the hotel but after walking inside, I had to stay to enjoy the decor. Light bulbs in mason jars, flat screen TV's and an amazing lighted patio. Although the view is just a parking lot, it's too bad it wasn't closer to the river behind it or had something else to look at. I ordered pork steak (which I've never heard of before) and it was really good. It looked like a T-bone but was tender enough to be cut with a fork. For my sides, I chose collard greens and cole slaw. The cole slaw was awesome. I have a weird ritual where I always order the cole slaw at different places to see how they make it. This one is definitely in my top 5. The slaw was finely chopped and had ground pepper in it, which I love. I usually put black pepper in my slaw anyways but this one was perfect. Cold and with a kick. Collard greens with a bit of bacon in it was good too. If I had more time or with a group of friends, I'd definitely come back because everything looked comfortably country. read more

Feel like you are paying for the atmosphere cause the food is just average. Much better options out there if you like bbq.

What an excellent find. Aubrey at the bar was super knowledgeable about whiskey, new favorite place when Im in town....awesome time!

Dined there yesterday and was a little disappointed by how dirty the restaurant was....Bbq sauce carrier and menus were sticky with caked on grease and sticky fingerprints, my water came out with an ant on the lemon wedge, the mason jar my beer came in had lip prints on the rim, and the booth itself had crumbs all over it as if it hadn't been wiped down in days. Fortunately the food was still tasty, but it kind of makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen when the front of house is so dirty. read more

My wife and I regularly eat here. The food is amazing and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

I came in with a large party of military service members. The manager treated my party very poorly. He wouldn't let us split the checks we had called the day prior to let him know we were coming it at 3:00 p.m. with a party. He tried to sell us a buffet option that we had no interest in. When we arrived he told us we had to be on one check as the restaurant system wouldn't allow him to break checks up. When we talked to the server she told us the manager changed the system the night before to not allow checks to be split on large parties. He told one member of our party he did four years in the Marine Corps; he told me he did 30 years. The food was good and the server was great and kept apologizing for the way the manager was treating us. I will never return to this restaurant and would encourage all members of the military to not eat here. read more

HORRIBLE..... Server could not get the order right ( it took 25 minutes to get a sandwich to go AFTER we had finished eating and it was wrong) and the worst part The bartender was chewing TOBACCO while making drinks!!!! Absolutely DISGUSTING and VILE. NEVER GOING BACK read more

We made reservations and were very excited to try the bbq . Unfortunately it wasn't worth our time. Drinks were not good watered down Moscow mules. We were told it had a special vodka , two mules were 18.00 in a small water glass. The taste was weak , water, and we sent them back only to have them return the same. Terrible, no muddled lime in them . Ordered the famous fried green tomatoes , our food arrived and we never received our fried green tomatoes! I wanted to try Saint Louis ribs, they were dry even with sauce they were fall off the bone DRY. So disappointed. The only good thing was the brisket, excellent and the STL BBQ sauce , perfect mix of hot and sweet. I have to say I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Our waitress was so afraid she wouldn't get a tip she added it to the bill? Never had that happen before! Bad BBQ place:( . read more

What a great way to end the day in historic st Charles . The wait staff was very friendly and made very good suggestions . We tried pulled port , brisket, and St. Louis ribs . All were great as were the sides . And the corn bread - perfect ! I loved the bourbons and my wife had one of the house cocktails . All good . The bourbon pour was generous. A perfect place for BBQ . read more

Poor customer service. This use to be our go to for family events but we won't be going back.

The best BBQ you'll find in STL! Awesome atmosphere with cool live blues bands on the weekends and unique cocktail list make this one of my favorites in the entire city! read more

See all

Not great BBQ, service is lame, food is not good. You can do better at a lot of places in the area. I will not return!!

We have been there twice and will not return. The Good: both times service was great. Surprising their sides are really good. The Bad: tiny portions, very dry meat, over salty ribs and all of their sauces are super watery. Not a good sign for BBQ place without great meat and sauces. If they guys want to survive they need to change their portions, address the super dry meat, over salted ribs and come up with better sauces. read more

I thought this was a nice place. The food was good and they had a very good selection of beers available to consume from local breweries like O'Fallon, Cathedral Square, and Civil Life. The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is that I thought the portions could've been just a little bit larger. read more

Awesome BBQ food in a cool location and building. My daughter and I really loved trying all of the barbeque sauces they have to offer. Will definitely be back the next time we come through! read more

Probably won't find a better BBQ place in St. Charles. The food was excellent, the service was great and the restaurant's ambiance is very nice. Coming from Texas, this was a perfect BBQ experience mixed with some St Louis blues playing at the bar below the restaurant. read more

Came here on a recommendation from some coworkers. Absolutely loved the place, from the decor to the food and service. Our server was Chet and he absolutely killed it when it came to ensuring we were satisfied with our meal. He is a true standout. As for the food, I had a seven layer salad to start. The dressing is not what I usually have in my seven layer salad, very sugary, so be aware of that if you order. Pulled pork with macaroni and fried potatoes. Best pork I have had. Melt in your mouth. My wife loved the macaroni and the potatoes were excellent. If in St. Charles you must try Hendricks. read more

Well... The fries were good... Except for the cost. $6 for a side of fries? And the ribs I had literally fell off the bone. They were prepared perfectly. They just tasted very bland and not anywhere near the taste of other BBQ Restaurants I've been to. If there wasn't apparent seasonings on the ribs, I'd think that they were just boiled. The portions were large and if they tasted good, maybe the price was worth it. Hopefully I just had a bad meal but I won't be going back unless a group picks the place without my input. read more

Decor and theme of the restaurant is great. We had the nachos appetizer - it was really good. Pulled pork wasn't the best I've ever had. Sides were really good. Kind of on the pricey side for bbq. read more

Nice decor and clean restaurant. The good and the bad is that the brisket was great but the ribs were horrible. The ribs were not overcooked, but they were old and dried out. I love bbq ribs and am sad to say these were the worst I have ever eaten at a restaurant. The mac and cheese is delicious. read more

The atmosphere is great! Drinks are unique. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I feel like the food quality had gone down hill. The last couple times I have eaten there the food has come out cold. I guess it's better to go during lunchtime instead of dinner. read more

The food is ok, I still enjoyed other St. Louis BBQ more.

Pretty good bbq. Awesome atmosphere and great service. The cornbread was fantastic but more of a dessert. Probably 5 stars if they were not out of the pulled pork. If I lived in the area, this would likely be my favorite bar. Highly recommend if you wanna have some drinks and stay for a while. read more

Excellent food. Nachos. Mmmmm. Sangria was great. Bloody Mary w habanero moonshine was very good. Both types of ribs were yummy. Corn casserole thumbs up. Bartender was fab. read more

We rented the entire Hendricks/Moonshine Blues Bar for our wedding. It could not have gone better. Scott the GM did an amazing job making sure everything went smooth. He was accommodating and organized. Carmen the events planner did an amazing job making sure everyone was doing what they needed to. They worked well with our wedding coordinator and made sure all our guests were happy. The food was AMAZING. People raved about it the entire night. The staff, waitresses and bartenders were on top of everything and so FUN. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome event space or just a great place to eat dinner. read more

Takeout Buyer Beware! Hendricks automatically adds 13% to takeout orders without telling customers. We love BBQ and our favorite restaurant for years has been Hendricks in old town St. Charles. We recently ordered takeout (a slab of ribs and 3 sandwiches) and when I looked at the receipt the food was $84.40 and the total was $95.67, they had automatically added an "included gratuity" of $11.25 (over 13%) without telling us!. We were not told about the "included gratuity" and there are no signs indicating that there is a mandatory 13% added to takeout orders. .When I talked to the manager he told me that they were told by the owners to add the "included gratuity". I can't believe that a restaurant would automatically add a tip without telling the customer and believe that is or should be illegal. When we eat in we typically tip 20% or more and generally give a few dollars for takeout but a mandatory 13% for takeout is ridiculous. We will now be looking for a new favorite BBQ restaurant and will not give our hard earned money to a business that has hidden costs and disrespects it customers like Hendricks. read more

Walked in with three Co workers, was pretty empty but they said there would be a wait. OK we will grab a drink at the bar no big deal. Sat down at the bar, angry bartender ignored us for about five minutes then finally asked what we wanted (we were literally the only people at the bar). Our table was ready so we said nevermind, went and sat down, sat at the table for 20 minutes without being approached by a server once. Walked out. Looks like a nice place but their management clearly needs a refresher. Went to Texas roadhouse and had great service and a great meal. read more

Way too expensive for BBQ. And I'm not sure what they do yo their Mac but I didn't like that particular flavor.
