We are in the area looking for some bbq. I picked brisket and pork. Picked two sides beans and some collard greens. The greens were tasty and the beans were sweet. I added hush puppies but didn't think the sweet spicy jam was a good fit but the hush puppies were fesh, hot and crunchy. The 4 different types of bbq sauces were good. My favorite was the spicy one. We would come back to try the green tomatoes.

Convenient location off the highway make it a good spot to go for lunch or dinner. They have a nice menu with options for just about everyone and they have gluten free buns also. Had the pulled pork plate with bbq beans and potato salad. The pork was smoked to perfection and tender and flavorful, beans were delicious however the potato salad was a big miss, tasted like it was a combination of potato salad with mashed potatoes mixed in( disappointing) corn bread was a big plus.

I didn't read recent reviews. I ordered a sausage sandwich, which turned out out to be a cheddar/jalapeño link. The menu did not mention the cheddar or jalapeño. A pork steak had good flavor but was very dry. Brisket was a little past prime. Hush puppies were delivered to the table as a side included with the pork steak. Only when they were delivered the server commented they hush puppies weren't considered as a side but the restaurant would let it go. It was an odd experience since hush puppies were listed as a side and nothing was said by the cashier indicating they weren't. There is virtually no table service here. Your food is ordered at the counter and delivered there before you pay. You get your own drinks. You might have an employee remove your plates, or you might bus your own table.

I got a slice of pie. I had to beg for a fork and napkin. I was not given a bag. I will return the food is ok here.

Great service and nice people. Came here for Father's Day weekend and fresh food at lunch. Chill vibes and plenty of space to sit.

Sugarfire has consistently great BBQ smoked meats and creative sides. I checked their Facebook page almost daily to see what their specials are at each location. Some are definitely worth a special trip, so I don't always eat at the location closest to me. You've gotta rig the goods! LOL! One of the regular menu items that has become a favorite is the chicken biscuit which is a fried chicken thigh dunked in their homemade hot sauce and served on a biscuit that is slathered with honey butter. I like to kick it up a notch and add pimento cheese and an egg and make it brunch! I'm always on the lookout for the pork steak special too. I have been disappointed with dry brisket and chewy burnt ends on occasion. Some of the best sides that I've had there are out of the ordinary such as sweet potato salad with a hint of truffle, kale salad, and broccoli salad. This location is had a recent remodel due to flooding but it looks just like the old place to me, and just as welcoming!

I had a 3 meat meal, wings, burntends ad ribs. fries and beans for sides. The wings were what they call trashed, fried, sauced then fried again. I have ony found this in St. Louis but it is probably my favorite way to have wings. The burnt ends were cooked perfect. The wings didn't look right when they came out, you can see in the picture that they look burned. They were not, the sauce was put on and allowed to cook until it carmelized. They fell off the bone, who doesn't love that? I am pretty sure I have eaten at another Salt and Smoke near the stadium. I will come here again.

There was plenty of seating available with an upstairs area as well. Should be able to accommodate larger parties. As for the food, I ordered a 3 meat combo with pork ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. It comes with two sides, which I chose the kale salad and burnt ends toasted ravs. Definitely way too much food for one and can be split for two. I feel that the sides were good. Toasted ravs were filled with well seasoned shredded burnt ends, and the kale salad provided a nice contrast to the bbq. The brisket was kind of dry, pulled pork was decent, but the ribs were the highlight of the three meats I had chosen.

I enjoyed their turkey melt. It was simple. Not over complicated. Not overly flavorful either. It wasn't bad, but it didn't send my taste buds into a chasm of mesquite as i had hoped. The service was good. But, not in a well manicured way. More of a this is very informal dining and holler if ya need me way. Very polite, unpolished, and taken care of. But, it didn't feel like hospitality in the formal sense you imagine when thinking of a sit down dinner. I hope that doesn't come off as a knock or jest. The staff were friendly and food delivery was reasonably quick. The burnt ends did not "melt" in my mouth like a proper burnt end should. They were fibrous and took a bit of chewing. They were also too sweet, so the meat's natural flavor was masked. The sausage was just OK, nothing special to look forward to. The potato salad was overly mustard based and unenjoyable. Two bites were all I could stand. The baked beans with pulled pork were very good. They could have better if they were more savory and less sweet. If I hadn't just visited family in Austin, TX, perhaps I would've been more favorable to Hendricks. Instead, I had recent reminders of how far they fell short of even average Texas BBQ, let alone Terry Black's. I'm not planning on returning.

We heard about the DelMar Loop and also heard about this place so decided to drop on by! One of the best parts was free parking! OK, we saw they had a patio and that was perfect for us because our puppy needed a place too. They seated us quickly, brought us some menus, and took our drink order. We both had 0% beer because, you know, it was just 12 noon - a little early for the hard stuff! We both ordered some barbecue! I ordered the brisket and pulled pork, along with the potato salad and chili! OK before the food review I got it put in a great word for the waitress. She was very friendly, and gave us some good pointers on things to check out while in town - very cool. Oddly enough, we were the only one sitting on the patio, even though it was a very pleasant day, indeed. When the food came? I thought the brisket was a little odd because it wasn't chopped. It was cut into little cubes but paired with one of the sauces? Very nice! And pulled pork was great. The potato salad? Yup! The chili? Yup! The fried bread roll? Well, it was a little unexpected, but it was very nice as well. As we had heard that St. Louis barbecue was uniquely different from any other barbecue, we had to have it! I'm not gonna say it was spectacularly different, but it was good! We ordered a lemon gooey bar for dessert and shared it! Apparently it's a St. Louis thing? Yes! Would we come again? Oh yes, indeed! And you should try it too if you like good barbecue.!

BBQ meat - we both ordered the three meat special and ensured we ordered different selections so we can try the various selections. Pass on the BBQ bologna - it's okay, nothing spectacular compared to the other meat selection. The brisket chili is well flavored and filling. The best part of the place? In addition to the great BBQ, it boasts of local brews and an awesome selection of whiskey - one not easily found is Weller and it was at a very affordable price point. Located across the street from a landmark, Bluedberry Hill, parking is available next door in the public parking. Not quite an easy drive of the other BBQ establishments closer to downtown, Salt & Pepper is nonetheless as good, and because of the well stocked bar, I would give it a slight edge to them.
