Small rib tip
Melissa J.

This was my first visit to New Town - the entire area is a vibe. Bobaque is nestled in this cute town featuring food, music and fun. There is a lively outdoor patio complete with a stage and mood lights - perfect for entertainment. They also have VIP rooms if you want a smaller private area complete with a tv and comfortable seating. There is a small indoor dining area to sit and eat and watch tv or have a drink at the bar. My group ordered and sat on the patio to watch a live performance. I had a small rib tip plate with potato salad - wow it was fall off the bones delicious. The meat was tender and seasoned well and had just the eight amount of bbq sauce. My portion was huge. The potato salad was good as well. It's worth a drive to go check the place out. The service was good - it does take a little bit to get your food - it was pretty crowded. They host a lot of events so check the calendar of events and head on out there to give them a try!

They were great when they operated as a stand, but since transitioning to a restaurant, it's been a different story. We've tried to support them and have gone five times now, really wanting to give a local spot our business. The first visit was right after they opened -- understandable hiccups, but the food was cold. We ordered the brisket special, which ended up being $40 even though it wasn't listed on the menu. We also asked for wings, were told they didn't have any, only to see two trays of wings brought out minutes later. We figured it was opening week, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We've driven by many weekends and seen the place packed, so we thought maybe they'd worked out the early issues. Today, we saw a sign advertising $1 wings and Sunday Ticket specials, so we decided to give it another try. Showed up at 4 PM, only to be told they were closed -- despite Google showing hours as 4-9 PM on Sundays. It's frustrating because the place clearly has potential, and we've heard both good and bad from others. But consistency is key in any business. Here are some tips for the owner: * Be consistent with your hours -- and update them everywhere, not just Facebook. * Post accurate, visible pricing so customers know what to expect. * Ensure food is served hot -- it's a basic expectation. * Use multiple platforms to communicate updates, not just Facebook.

I enjoyed my meal and cocktail on the outside patio while listening to a live violinist. It took a long time for the food/drinks to come out but worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend visiting if you're in a hurry.

Literally the worst food service at a restaurant of ALL TIME. Our party arrived around 6:20 and left at 9:40. Waiters all look and act lost, they didn't know the difference between one table and another, owner was doing all the cooking and comes out from the back looking just like a cook and not a restaurant owner, unprofessional he could have least came out and applogized . On top of that half the menu was sold out and not even exaggerating fr. Sad part is the food actually good just garbage management and servers. Overall terrible business and did very little to compensate. Shut this garbage down.

Went to try out BobaQue for dinner. The food took an hour to come out after ordering. For being a BBQ place I was disappointed to hear they don't have BBQ sauces except for what comes on it and the food was as not hot when it came to the table. The food was good, and the service was okay. The inside seating area is just enough, not a huge area but also not too small of a dining area or bar area but they do have outdoor seating as well.

The wife is out of town, I'm baching it so I decided to drive into New Town, really heard good reviews on this place. The outdoor seating is very nice, blues is playing in the background, it gives me a New Orleans/Memphis vibe, which BTW is good. I wish they had draft Budweiser, only bottled, that's ok though. The young lady at the front greeted me with a smile, the waiter was very attentive, this place has a number of tables with large families. It is very busy as well. I ordered a brisket Sammy with potato salad. For the price this is a good sized order. If you are in St Charles New Town area check this out, super good!

Man if you're ever in the St Charles new town area and want to try and support a family run bbq place, come check out BobaQue. Very friendly owner who lived in Asia for a while so wanted to combine bubble tea and bbq; unfortunately (or fortunately?) the bbq side of things got so busy that they currently don't do bubble tea anymore (not sure if it will change in the future) Menu changes daily, with specials throughout the week, (from what I've read / know there is Ribeye Friday and taco Tuesday etc) check their Facebook page to see what they have on the menu for the day. We came on ribeye Friday and ordered the family special, Gigantic Ribeye steak, baked potato, full slab of ribs, baked beans, potato salad, and 10 wings. Bobaqueue portion sizes are huge. The steaks are like 16-20 oz or more, the ribs have so much meat on them. Steaks are cooked to order so you can see and talk to Chris the owner in the back after you order. Steak was cooked exactly medium (the way we ordered it) ribs are not the fall of the bone type, but they are still very tender and delicious. We got the sweet and spicy / Parmesan garlic wings and they were great too. All the sides were fresh and tasty and complemented the meats well. They only have outdoor tables so if it's cold, be warned. We will definitely be back, keep up the good work.

You order at the counter, which was easy, and then pay at the end of the line. The cashier was super helpful and offered recommendations on sauces and offered pickles or jalapeños for my To Go order. I ordered the Big Muddy sandwich which came with brisket, sausage, lettuce and pickles. It was also supposed to have horseradish and bbq sauce, but it did not. Maybe because it was To Go? The brisket was sliced right in front of me, but it was bad. It looked tender, but it was supper fatty and could handle be chewed. I spit most of it out. The problem was probably a bad cut of meat and not the smoking, but they still served it to me. The sausage was great, but only had a couple of little slices. I added some of the sweet sauce which was very good. I chose the beans for my side. Fine, but nothing special. A little dry, so I added sauce to help it go down. Then they had some local soda option, so I passed on an overpriced drink. It looks like there are more local options in the area, I would try somewhere else if ever back in this area.

Aside from that, this was really good BBQ and I think the best I've had so far in STL. We ordered our food to go: Double Smash Burger - the best burger we've had here so far, not surprised its from a BBQ spot Pork Sandwich - HELLA meat came with this, so I had to share with my husband, but still satisfying Potato Salad - nothing special, but pretty good for potato salad French Fries - pretty good, and well done! Fried Green Tomatoes - absolute banger and would order this every time.

I split a full rack with mom for my most recent birthday meal and I was not disappointed! Naturally, we each had plenty of leftovers. The ribs came out with that perfect dark, smoky bark that's packed with flavor. The meat underneath was oh so tender. For one side, I went with applesauce - a classic. Appropriately chilled, it was a nice, fresh component to a largely roll-me-out-the-door meal. It was topped with a very confident amount of cinnamon. Heavy-handed for my taste, but if cinnamon is your jam, you'll be thrilled. The baked beans, however, came in hot. And I don't mean temperature; I mean with a spicy surprise. The sweetness of the applesauce cut down the bite of the heat, but I longed for milk to put out the little fire on my tongue. I have a low threshold for spicy food, so you may be quite alright with it, but it was a surprise to me. Pappy's is, hands down, my go-to BBQ spot. First enamored by the location nearest downtown, and thoroughly thrilled when they arrived in my city.

The potato salad was dry and pasty. The baked beans were much too spicy. Their service was very fast but it was a workarant. You had to order sit and they delivered it to you. I wasn't sure what to order, but the friendly staff recommended that I have the brisket, and I'm so glad I heeded their advice. The brisket sandwich was the most tender meat that I have ever had. I had never had brisket before having that sandwich, now my mouth waters any time I talk about this restaurant! The cole slaw that I had as a side provided the perfect crunch and balance. My mate had the pulled pork sandwich, which was also very tender. I also loved having a variety of barbecue sauces on the table and was able to try each one. Everyone has a preference, I'm sure, but after trying each one, I am completely sold on the Carolina gold. Also, I do not typically have a fountain soda, but the cola that was on tap was some of the best that I'd ever tasted. 10 out of 10 for Sugarfire, and I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in St. Louis!

The giant pig statue in front of the restaurant was actually quite informative, as it described where the meat comes from on a pig. Anyway, as I entered the restaurant, I stood in line. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. There are long tables with many seats, so seating wasn't an issue. It is a first come first served dining situation. I ordered the 2-meat plate: brisket, ribs, baked beans, and potato salad. The brisket and the sides were definitely my favorite parts. The brisket was so tender, it basically fell apart in my hands! It was delicious! The baked beans were tangy and sweet, and the potato salad was creamy. I didn't like the ribs, they were very dry and definitely not worth the money. The barbecue sauces are in bottles on the table; my personal favorite was the Honey Badger, sweet with a little bit of heat. I found the Coffee BBQ sauce to be the most interesting; I have never had anything like it before. The coffee notes were subtle and helped balance out the smoky flavors. While I enjoyed the majority of my food, I am not sure if I will be returning. It was a nice experience, but the dry ribs left me feeling disappointed.
