Fresh Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich with potato salad

Very quick service and helpful staff. It's connected to a gun range but it not too loud in the restaurant portion. The food was super Good and the ribs were amazing. The battered fries were tasty but the mac and cheese wasn't my favorite

This has been for a long time, and still is, a sleeper for BBQ in St. Louis. Nestled in between a pawnshop and a gun store the BBQ restaurant has a practice range in the same building. An obvious plus if you enjoy staying current on certain skills. Getting back to the BBQ, the ribs steal rhe show the rub and glaze is just right for flavor that is mind blowing and the meat just falls off the bones. The pulled pork with any of their sauces (hot & spicy, sweet & Smokey, and honey) hits the spot too. The sides are amazing too, the Mac and cheese is well prepared with just the right amount of pepper, the green beans have plenty of bacon and flavor to boot. This place holds a spot for me as a favorite even against some of STL's more popular names.

Neat concept to have a restaurant connected to a shooting range- made a good birthday suprise for my dad! They even have soap to remove lead in the bathrooms if you choose to eat after shooting. The food was alright. The pretzel sticks were burnt. The pulled pork was classic pulled pork. The beer battered fries were very good, a nice switchup on the classic french fry. The sweet heat wings were spot on with being sweet and hot simultaneously- a very interesting yet good taste! They ran out of rootbeer for my refill unfortunately, but the sweet tea was delicious!

The food here is delicious. BBQ has a great smoke flavor, and there are many options of meat to choose from. 3 different sauces to choose from on the table, Sweet and Smoky, Sweet and Tangy, and Hot and Spicy. I tried them all and they were all very different and good on their own but, I mixed them together to shake things up. The fries were perfectly cooked, everything was yummy. Bonus points for Pepsi products! They have menus on the table, so you can sit and figure out what you want, then you go to the front counter to place your order. Where the friendly staff will answer any questions you have and take your order. They take cash and cards. Give them a try if you like BBQ!

Smoked turkey salad

I switched it up a little bit today. Normally always get the pulled pork nachos. Trying to be a little bit healthier so I decided on the salad with one smoked meat, which was turkey. It was OK, pretty basic something I could've easily whipped up at home. It was just Romain lettuce, a half of an egg, a little bit of tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, and some croutons along with my smoked turkey. The turkey was very good. They did not offer a light dressing. That would be good to have for customers that are trying to eat a little lighter. I think in the future, I will stick to my pulled pork nachos and just plan ahead for the day when I'm going to eat the heavier meal. You really cannot go wrong with the pulled pork nachos. They are delicious. The service was very good as always. Everyone that works here is always very friendly.

Open carry. Missouri and next door to an indoor shooting range.

We seen the reviews of this BBQ place and decided to try it out. We are glad we did! The meat is smoked to perfection! They smoke meat daily. The ribs were to die for! The baked beans were probably the best I have ever had! The fries were also good. The battered fries are a little more crispy but I like both. I had a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and my husband had the half rack of ribs with fries and baked beans. His half rack looked like a full rack and they were so good! His came with garlic bread that was delicious! They asked if we would like a box but it was so good there was nothing left to take home! I highly recommend this family owned business. It is connected to an indoor shooting range. There is a patio for outside seating if you like and fountain drinks with the nice crushed ice. One note is to remember they are not open on Mon or Tues. We will definitely be back!!

We went to another spot before heading here but they were sold out of a bunch of stuff. Glad they were and we ended up here. We ordered rib dinner for 2 with Mac and Cheese and beans for the sides. Added a pound of brisket as well. These were the best ribs I've had in my life. No question nothing even comes close. Ribs were so tender. Brisket had great flavor. Barely used any BBQ sauce. Didn't need it. Really just had some so I could try it. Even the dang bread was amazing. I honestly can't wait till I'm back out there so we can go there again. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Alas, their sauces are superb. I ended up taking my brisket and concocting some nachos with them. The brisket was solid. Good moisture, good fat content, some pepper tickles the tongue while the salt has tucked itself into every crevice and fold of the meat like a baby in bed. The beans were just fine. Observations orbitally? Very light in color. Lighter than most. Perhaps that is a contributor to less flavor, nonetheless they don't taste bad. Workers were nice, which is always welcome at fast casual/takeaway. Attentive, kind, smiles!

This location in midtown is the original (I believe) and has a lot of charm and a great staff. There was no real line as I showed up in the first 30 minutes of their opening and on a Monday so I'm sure that made a big difference. I was helped by a super nice man up front who assisted me with my order and gave me the lowdown on the ordering and seating process. Pappy's has a large staff that were constantly clearing tables and delivering food. The manager (?) even stopped by the dining area and checked in with how our meals were. He also told me about the fried corn on the cob cooking process. Very interesting. I had a half slab of the ribs and chose the fried corn on the cob and baked beans as my sides. I filled by drink and found a seat and my meal was served shortly afterwards. The tables have 4 sauces to choose from if needed. Honestly, I loved the flavor of the ribs just the way they were served to me although I did try the sauces as I love to try these things when in a new place. The ribs had a glaze of sauce already on them and man were they good! The ribs were perfectly prepared with the iconic smoke ring around the edges. They were meaty and fatty just like they should be. These rate in the top 5 ribs I've ever had. I enjoyed the fried corn on the cob as it was super unique and finished with a sugar and salt coating but not too much. The BBQ beans were also good with pieces of pork mixed in. I highly recommend trying Pappy's when in the St Louis area. They really do a wonderful all around job.

Brisket - my husband's favorite. Sliced thin. I also enjoyed it because it wasn't overly fatty. Pork - also delicious! The original bbq sauce was our favorite. Baked beans - hardy and delicious Fried corn - way better than regular corn on the cob Potato salad - more mustard/mayo based. Large potato chunks. It was delicious with a subtle flavor.

While reservations are recommended, I was lucky to get us a spot for two on a Saturday night for dinner. Walking in, it reminded me of a small family place in Palermo but with class. Hostess and server were very friendly and pleasant and attentive. The Ravioli appetizer was excellent!!! For St Louis, having an outstanding Ravs is a high bar and Collins's easily earned a top spot. The ravioli is a must try. The Beef Rigatoni Bolognese was also outstanding and an interesting fact is the pasta is made in-house. The Cavitelli was also fantastic and another must-try is the Sicilian Old Fashioned which was delicious. I could easily do two or three. Collina is a must return soon column. Five Stars!

It was a carrot cake that I'm pretty sure had cheesecake btwn the layers. I only had 1 small bite of that part. Entrees ordered were seafood risotto, sweet chili glazed salmon and the special of the night which was a pork chop over risotto. Per my friend her salmon was delicious. My risotto was overcooked so the clams were rubbery-yuk. The shrimp looked overcooked but they actually tasted fine. The pork chop was good but not great per report. We did get bruschetta as an appetizer- again good but not great as there was too much balsamic glaze such that it was overly sweet. Jonathan was our server and I had the impression he was new to the job. He did fine but it was small things. A definite detractor was the location of our table- we were right next to the kitchen. If I backed my chair up I would have been in their pathway. Anyway they left the door to kitchen open and it was sooooo noisy. Yes I could have asked them to close door but the heat would have probably too much for them then.
