Rib tips Sausage & Baked Beans

amazing portions flavor and hospitality off the chart. The right heat in sausage ribs tender and tasty.

Burnt Beef Rib Slab

Where should I start? ;( This place was a hot mess. A friend bought some beef ribs a couple of months ago, they were good. I decided to pick up some beef ribs for the 4th; The day before the 4th to be exact. When I finally got my order I noticed the ribs were black. They looked burnt and overcooked. I had already waited 3 hrs so I took them home hoping that the ribs weren't as bad as they looked. Turns out the ribs were worse than I thought. I basically wasted my money because they were so chard , and tough. We couldn't even eat them. Customer Service- I will say everyone had good customer service, and working hard; Everyone except one lady taking orders at the counter. She was rude, and had no patience at all. She was brown skin, short blonde hair with finger waves, and missing teeth. I would say go there at yout own risk. You will experience extremely long wait times. and the ribs may, or may not be cooked right.

I've been in St. Louis for a year and I have tried bbq spots but NOBODY is cooking on a charcoal grill except for Reds! This is REAL bbq. You can see the huge drum grills and smoke from across the street. The prices are average bbq prices. I paid $19 for the tip/link combo with 1 side and I ate off of that plate for 3 days. The bbq sauce tastes homemade with a perfect balance of heat, acidity and sweet. MORE THAN ENOUGH SAUCE FOR THE PLATE. The links were more like regular polish sausage but still good. The potato salad was good! Just like I like it. The wait for the food was about 20min. No call ins unless the order is over $50 according to signs posted. Auntie at the order counter had a great personality and better customer service. She walked over to my table and brought an extra to go container (cause I tore mine) and extra bags! THAT'S going the extra mile. She answered all my questions without getting annoyed. They have a nice sized parking lot on the side of the building. You can't miss it.

Small tips & Bread Small Tip'! Excellent flavor,a little salty. But enough sauce. I enjoyed. FromFL by the way of Chicago. It's A Yesssss

Good Food, Service was great. We are from Chicago n I way from FL as well. This food is a Yessssssss

Barbecue half chicken with beef link and potato salad. Oh, I almost forgot the beans.

I wanted to check out the St. Louis style barbecue since I was in the city. I ordered the beef ribs, but they were already out at around 2 PM so I ordered the half chicken and the beef. Both were amazing, especially the beef link. The service was on point. Also I waited less than five minutes for my food.

Great place to get some good tasty finger licking chicken or rib tips. Service is fast, and keep in mind the portions are huge. I orders half a chicken and a small rib tips with potato salad. Bag was heavy as 2 concrete bricks. Back at my room I realize I ordered for a whole family. Generous portions are served at Red's.

Burnt ends, chicken, polish sausage and Potato Salad. Comes w/ white bread.

Very good for old school barbecue. Reminds me of Maulls sauce from the 70s. Always plenty of rib tips in the small order

(We're just now doing the review.) The one hour wait was not worth it! Too long of a wait for the quality of food received.

This is easily a five-star review, and it's coming from someone who isn't a true BBQ lover. This…read moreplace was suggested by a local, and I am so glad that I went because it was the best BBQ that I have ever had. I wasn't sure what to order, but the friendly staff recommended that I have the brisket, and I'm so glad I heeded their advice. The brisket sandwich was the most tender meat that I have ever had. I had never had brisket before having that sandwich, now my mouth waters any time I talk about this restaurant! The cole slaw that I had as a side provided the perfect crunch and balance. My mate had the pulled pork sandwich, which was also very tender. I also loved having a variety of barbecue sauces on the table and was able to try each one. Everyone has a preference, I'm sure, but after trying each one, I am completely sold on the Carolina gold. Also, I do not typically have a fountain soda, but the cola that was on tap was some of the best that I'd ever tasted. 10 out of 10 for Sugarfire, and I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in St. Louis!

Join the line when you walk in, when you get to the front of the line, you tell the counter person your order, the guys behind the counter were upbeat and friendly. You move on down the line and pick your sides, proceeding to the register. Paying and getting drink cups. Go pick your table with your food if its ready or just yourself if your food isn't ready yet and they will come out and call your name. Raise your hand and they will bring it over, friendly as can be. At the location in Valley Park my standing order is brisket and tater tots , so good! But I didn't see tater tots on the menu so I switched it up and got smoked salmon with fries, and an order of hushpuppies. I got the salmon and fried up first and both were great. Salmon was smoky and flaky, the fries the hand cut style with skin on. Both tasted great with my favorite coffee BBQ sauce. The hushpuppies came out piping hot with a sweet sauce on the side. The hushpuppies were so good! I will be craving them, thinking about them now, mmm. Line moves quickly, friendly staff, good food, fantastic hushpuppies :)

First visit was on a Sunday. Probably not the best time to try a soul food place in an urban…read moreneighborhood. Placed an online order for my own pick-up via DoorDash. Message upon placing the order initially showed my order would be ready in an hour. An hour later got another "actual" confirmation that my food would be ready in yet another hour (so 2-hours after placing the order if you're keeping up). So at approximately the 2-hr mark I got a message my food was ready. Supposedly you can "skip the line" meaning you don't need to stand in the ridiculously long line for those ordering in person. I stood in the 2nd line (there's a separate line for online orders. Would be fantastic if they actually had any organization and if your food is truly ready. Mine was not! guy would come out of the kitchen periodically and ask for names, then disappear back into the kitchen. So I still had a 20-minutes wait - for food that I was told was ready. Anyway to the food. I paid almost $34 for meat, 3-sides and dessert. They do give you a lot of food so I was able to make 3 meals which boils down to a little over $10/meal. Not bad. The oxtails were tender and delectable. Macaroni and cheese was juicy a la Kraft Mac n Cheese. Tasted ok but I don't like juicy macaroni. The greens had a weird spice (dill?) that does not belong in greens. The sweet potatoes were ok, but again there was a weird additive that made the juice almost gel-like. I got a smaller than shot glass size cup with a tiny cube of cranberry sauce. ‍. Peach cobbler was perfect! The dining room was dark - no, not romantic - DARK. Not sure if that was intentional - or if it's like that all the time, but it was mid afternoon on an overcast day so turn on some lights people! I couldn't tell if the place was clean or not. Bottom line, given all of the issues, I probably won't need to go back there - but at least I can say I tried it. Oh and parking SUCKS. Tiny lot so I had to park on the lot of the business next door and walk to the restaurant.

I love how you don't have to mention that you would like your chicken fried extra crispy, it is just served that way. A little quaint diner looking restaurant, no frills, just simple and straight to the point. The staff is super friendly and helpful, which is great for first timers because you don't know how to navigate what's going on. So we were informed to order at the kiosk and we could take a seat at any table. Our food was brought to us by a robot. The downside, yet another place that doesn't want to serve you FREE water and charge for every additional condiment. Whyyyyyy if I'm a paying customer do I need to pay for bottled water. How are you washing dishes, etc..... Also, as an owner of an establishment, anytime a patron walks into your establishment, this is a key moment for you welcome and acknowledge your customers. How rude is it that for us to be the ONLY customers eating inside the entire restaurant your staff is friendlier than you are. I appreciate that Cathy herself was making each dish and she does know what she is doing but the customer service on her part is highly lacking, luckily her employees make-up for the short coming. The catfish and grits is a delicious well crafted dish that is incredible when eaten cold. That speaks volumes to how good the dish is. The New Friday special which comes with 3 whole wings, 6 jumbo shrimp, 1 Catfish Fillet and coleslaw is another great option to try 3 items in one dish. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the catfish was tender on the inside and fried to perfection on the outside and the shrimp were large and not over cooked. Cathy definitely has her seasoning game on lock. And last but not least we ordered the cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp, added mushrooms. I would opt out of the chicken next time because it was chicken chunks that seemed to be out of the can, so it had a fake texture. The pasta sauce was flavorful and delicious and the entree was plenty for two. The wait was not long for our food which is a plus, some items I feel are over priced.
