We went on 5 June...we were in our hotel still, awaiting household shipment. It was raining very hard but we had read about Gianni's and wanted to give it a shot. We were greeted by the owner, and had a great conversation with her while we waited for the food. It was like catching up with an old friend. She was warm, kind and delightful. We felt like we were visiting a home, the decorations were clean and elegant. I look forward to getting back over for a sit down. I had lasagna, and my wife had pasta Alfredo. Both meals came with a pretty big salad, and bread sticks. The dressing was fantastic, I think a simple oil & vinegar based with a great herb note to it. Both pasta dishes were excellent, a good healthy portion (I was stuffed but ate every bite of everything because it was good. I usually get a picture or two, but we were starving and just dug into it. We got our meals to go, our food was packed excellently and we were happy with every aspect of the meal.

They have quite the operation with parking spots in their already large lot designated for carry out customers as well closer to the door. I opted to walk in from further away. Two ladies man the window ready to take orders or coordinate orders like mine that were called in. I walked in 20 minutes after placing my order but at peak hour they told me 15 more so I read a book until called to grab my fresh hot pie. I absconded with my prize to my hotel. I love St Louis style pizza. You can't find Provel anywhere near where I live in the PNW. This one has a really nice thin crust with plenty of mushrooms. I thought their sauce was a little on the sweet side. Not my favorite so far. I also came back with my coworker because he wanted a taste of St. Louis on his short stay, but he wasn't impressed either. I picked up some mushroom spaghetti on my next stop but that was also far too sweet and just okay. Sadly, for some reason pizza places seem to be closed on Sundays and Mondays which are the main days I'm in town this week for work, so I guess it's this place or Imo's this time, but I'll plan to go during Faraci's open hours next time.

The host seemed confused, left to check, and came back saying it was fine but we would need to pick up our pizza from the takeout window. We were seated and given silverware, but after that no one checked on us at all. It was as if we weren't there The restaurant wasn't busy--only 2 2-topa small tables and one larger group that left as we went to sit down --yet the two servers nor the host on duty stopped at our table, offered drinks, plates, or even made eye contact. Other tables received normal service while we were completely ignored. We eventually asked the sweet employee at the pickup window for water and napkins, and she was the only person who helped us the entire time. Thankfully the food was good but the service was extremely disappointing; aside from the carryout window staff. I have been to this location many times over the years and a handful of times at the St. Peters location. I expected a lot better from this family-owned pizzeria. This felt like an avoidable customer-service miss.

Went during lunch time on a Friday and took advantage of their lunch specials. Their pizza dough was airy and crispy, their mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce were very flavorful. I have mixed feelings about this place because it started out very frustrating, with parking, a small waiting area, and a cranky host. It ended on a good note, however. I'll start off by saying that parking was really frustrating, because we had to drive around the block several times before we were able to find something that opened up. I realize that many businesses share this street, and want to point out that this is not the fault of 4th Street Pizza. Inside, it was very crowded with many people waiting. The area is so small that it wasn't easy to open the door. Once we got in, it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our name for the waiting list. She was very cranky, but later I would come to understand why. We were told of a 45-minute wait and that we could wait outside if we liked, where they would call our name when ready. We waited on a bench and saw a lot of people come and go who got there after us. Thankfully, my fiancé asked them about it, and they seated us right away. I think they forgot about us. Once we were seated, the service was very slow to start. Our appetizer got there in a decent amount of time, but the pizza took forever, and our drinks sat empty. Once the pizza arrived, it was huge and tasted great! Are drinks continuing to sit empty? Normally, my rating would be low for a situation like this, but then I realized that our server was working all the tables in there and had only one bus person for help! I can see why the server was cranky. I would have been too if I were the only server at a busy restaurant during rush hour. This entire restaurant had only one restroom that looked like it had not been cleaned since the Bicentennial. Again, it is probably a staffing issue. We would definitely go again to experience the pizza.

The inside and outside were beautiful. Loved the history and the updates. Smaller menu but lots of great choices. I got a regular salad with ranch, husband ordered the Ceasar, and we split a pepperoni. I walked around looking at the space while waiting for food, it is so pretty, and the exposed brick is beautiful. I got a look at the Red Oven from Italy that inspired the restaurant name. The salads came, the small had a lot of lettuce and toppings, the dressing came on the side. I needed a bigger bowl to mix everything up it was so generous. I wasn't a fan of the ranch dressing, it was too thick and a little bland for me. The Ceasar was a miss for my husband due to the different cheese and dressing that wasn't reminiscent of Caesar. I ate the whole salad, I love salad. The pizza came out, our waitress, one of the owners, put all our pizzas on a side table so we had more room. It was perfect and we could drool over everyone's pizza, yum! They all looked so good. Our pepperoni was delicious. The crust had a great chew and char, and the pepperoni was just enough. After our meal, the husband came out and we chatted with him, he gave us the rundown of the history and the steps it took from purchase to open. I loved hearing about it all and it made me love it all the more.
