came in one day after leaving work, they had pork steaks as they're special, but I had to try the brisket and the pulled pork, which is absolutely amazing. The 4-5 different sauces ahead were really good. The house barbecue sauce was really damn good. Been into Smokee Mo's a lot over the years but first review. First, the staff is awesome! High energy and everyone seems to enjoy what they do. Once thru the line and at our table we get asked regularly if we need anything additional...such a customer-focused thing to do. I think we've had everything on the menu except the pork steak...sells out fast. Tonight was brisket and baby backs. Portions are big and both were outstanding. All the sides rock and are big. The bbq corn is a sleeper, give it a try it's fantastic. And make sure you try a variety of their sauces, wow. Can't speak to dessert. While they look great we're always too stuffed to even split something. This restaurant is a gem, love it and look forward to getting there early enough some day to get a pork steak! read more

We tried smokes mo's back when they first opened and weren't impressed. Since the. We have had it a few parties and it was really good but hadn't been back ourselves until tonight. We stopped in for take out and it was fabulous. It was about 7pm and we decided to get the meat platter with 5 meats and 2 sides. This was a lot of meat!! A big serving of pulled pork, 3-4 slices of brisket and turkey, 4 ribs and 2 sausages. We opted to add 2 additional sides. We got macaroni and cheese, cheesy potatoes,, broccoli cheese casserole, and cole slaw. All were great, except I wasn't a big fan of the cole slaw. I liked the small chop to the cabbage and veg, but the dressing was in between creamy and vinegar. The only other thing I wasn't a fan of was their original bbq sauce. It was really really sweet. I liked the Carolina mustard sauce better. We will definitely be back. read more

We ordered almost every meat so that we had the opportunity to give it a fair shake. The ribs: tender, fall off the bone and nicely seasoned with a heavy smoke flavor. Pulled pork: moist, well seasoned and full of smoked flavor. Pork steak: this is a cut of meat that I absolutely judge bbq places for. This pork steak did not disappoint. It was plastic fork tender, seasoned nicely and full of flavor. Smoked turkey: I'm not normally a fan of turkey from bbq restaurants, but this was a pleasant surprise. It was moist and full of flavor and I'm really glad I tried it. Brisket: just like with the turkey, I'm not usually a fan of brisket. This one wasn't bad, it just wasn't my favorite meat. On the positive side their brisket is not fatty like other places, so I appreciated that. Burnt pork ends: they were a little dry but otherwise excellent. We weren't crazy about most of the sides, with exception to the collard greens. Those greens were fantastic. The kind you'd expect to find in a good soul food restaurant. Full of flavor and just a pinch of kick. I would go back for those alone. We also tried the baked beans, potato salad and bbq corn. The beans and potato salad were okay, but that's about it. I'm pretty sure they use frozen corn for the bbq corn. It would have been better with canned corn, but it would have been excellent if they had used fresh corn. The flavor was there but the texture was off. I spent about $60 for lunch for two, however we have more than enough left over for dinner tonight and probably lunch tomorrow so I feel like we got a lot of food for the money. Overall, I would definitely go back but next time I'll stick to collards as my only side. read more

Pretty legit bbq place. It's pretty pricey and the place itself has a nice country feel to it. And the staff are all friendly. Food itself was typical and what you'd expect from a bbq place. Being from Texas, I would put this place on par with most of your average places in Texas. Nothing was in the category of "best every", and nothing was in the category of "terrible". Everything was in the typical category. Don't mistake typical or average for being subpar. I ordered the pork steak only, no sides, which is priced at $10 online. When I picked up my order, they charged me $17+ for a pork steak only. And they didn't bother giving me a container or a plate. They just wrapped it in foil as seen in the photo. They refused to match the pricing on the website. Bait & switch or just poor management? I'm thinking the latter. Quick stop, I was meeting a friend on his way south and trying to eat low carb. The window tinting was so heavy that driving up, I wasn't sure if they were open or not. Then, they even have signs on the doors saying tom pull hard, because they are heavy doors. I appreciated the warning. This was my second visit to Smokee Mo's in as many years. Last year I ate in, this time I took home. I got the half smoked chicken with potato salad as a side. The chicken was hot from the smoker and cut right in front of me and foil wrapped. I wish I could do a leak proof foil wrap. I got a nice sized side order of potato salad to go with the bird. I forgot to ask about their potato salad recipe. I got it home in 15 minutes and dug in. The bird was juicy yet fall off the bone tender. These folks know how to smoke a bird, no tough and dry breast meat here. I got the smoky sauce to go with it, it's excellent. The potato salad is not the tangy style I love but it is still good eats. The potatoes are not mushy, they are perfectly done. Less than $14 for a delicious half chicken meal. I will be back. read more

This is REALLY good BBQ! Its almost as good as Daileys or Salt and Smoke. It's never too busy at lunchtime, which is when I usually go, and they are laid back, but obviously take their BBQ very seriously. My faves: Fried corn Broccoli casserole Potato salad: NOT your run-of-the-mill kind The brisket is never dry and the lemonade is a great choice! I like to imagine I'll win something cool, like a $50 bill or a Smokee Moe's gift card, from the (rigged) quarter slide type game in the corner someday. Either way, it's fun to play. Wow, that's what I have to say is WOW! For me, it is not easy for an establishment to get 5 stars. You really have to be outstanding in terms of food, customer service, restaurant cleanliness, and overall appeal. I was looking for an awesome place to BBQ as the rest of this week while on a business trip out here, I was nothing but disappointed with the previous 2 night's dinner locations. BBQ. Good, no scratch it, awesome BBQ was what I was looking for. When I got to the parking lot, I noted that the restaurant was nice and well-lit with large windows in the front so that you can see into the restaurant. Once inside, I noted that it had a cool vibe, with cool decorations on the walls, nice open tables, and it was clean, clean, clean inside. The menu boards were well-laid out and easy to understand. I went with the Mo's Meat Platter. All I can say is that it was an awesome deal at $24.99. It was a lot of food for one person and I had plenty of leftovers. It came with smoked turkey, brisket, ribs, Italian sausage, and pulled pork. It also came with two sides so I asked for the cole slaw and twice-baked potato. It's all served on a wax paper sheet on top of a flat metal tray. Man, after digging into the platter, I noted that although I got some BBQ sauce from the dispensers, none of the items required any BBQ sauce. It's almost sacrilegious to dip anything into BBQ sauce. The dry-rub ribs were amazing, the brisket was spectacular, the turkey was moist and juicy, sausage was incredible, and pulled pork was mouth-watering. The cole slaw and twice-baked potato were awesome compliments to the meal and the garlic bread.... man, the garlic bread. He said that he buys large amounts of butter from the Amish community that he drives to and purchases and picks up in person. The amount of food would have been good to share for two people. While eating, Mo came up to speak with us and he was one of the most genuine, friendly, and caring owners I've ever spoken with. He has a genuine love for the BBQ/smoke craft and definitely knows his stuff. He went through some of his special items, the history of the restaurant and his background, and definitely takes pride in his restaurant. He even went as far as to offer up samples of other delicacies that we did not order. His collard greens to me were second-to-none and are cooked in the juices from the meats that he smokes. He also brought the freshly made garlic mashed potatoes (are you kidding me? So crazy tasty) and burnt pork ends (yikes... is this even legal? It attacks your taste buds with reckless abandon). All-in-all, this was a definite yummylicious dinner that I could not finish. The portion size was awesome for the price. What a great way to celebrate a long work day. I would highly recommend this place for BBQ/smoked food aficionados. Like I stated earlier, I don't give out many 5 star reviews but Mo and his team of dedicated employees have a winner on their hands. If you are in the area, you cannot pass up on the opportunity to have some spectacular BBQ.
