We love Nubbys as does a lot of STL! Always busy when we get there. Hint, they do accommodate call aheads so try that if you think it might be busy. We have tried a lot of the menu and each thing is unique. Our favorites are the huge Bavarian pretzel, that comes with cheese and mustard; the pulled pork sandwich and the adult grilled cheese, both with fries. We are also fans of their pizza. Only downfall on this last trip is we were hoping to watch the Blues game however only one side of the restaurant had working TVs and the other side did not. When we asked 2 different people about it, they said the wifi usually goes out on that side so something to fix for us die hards who wanted to watch it. Honestly probably turning the TVS off and back on might have solved the problem. Definitely a great neighborhood spot and we always look forward to coming back. read more

Finally made it into Nubbys and I was definitely satisfied with the meal! I was in the mood for some pizza so I went that route, but the BBQ looked great as well. I got the deluxe pizza and it was packed with toppings and provel, so definitely stl style. We also ordered the buffalo chicken dip and I enjoyed it. Very cream cheese forward. First time trying Nubby's. It was really crowded tonight, but we got in fairly quick. We got the meat lovers hand tossed pizza, and it was really good. The sauce had a nice seasoning (not too sweet). The meat and cheese was plentiful and well applied so that each bite was tasty. The staff was all friendly and attentive even with a full house. Decided to give Nubby's another try. Our Original Stop (Mama Mel's)was closed so we decided to head to Nubby's. The Beer was Cold... The Cheese Garlic Bread was very good!!! Side House Salad.. highly recommend the Sweet Vidalia Onion Dressing !! Was fresh.. but could of used a bigger bowl... lol And this time we got the St Louis Style Pizza with Hamburger/Pepperoni/Bacon/Mushrooms/Onions. This was so so Good!!!! No oil pooling and the Bacon was crisp!!! We opted to sit outside as this place got crazy busy!!! The Heat wasn't to bad. read more

This place is fantastic. Inside is nice and clean. Staff is super friendly. And food is fantastic. I had the 6oz tri-tips. It came with 2 sides. Both sides were really good. I wish we had split the 8oz version at the 6oz with 2 sides it a bit too much food for a single person. Highly recommend. read more

I've had Nubby's takeout a few times, but this was my first time dining in. I've clearly been missing out! The inside is super cute and cozy, and the service was really friendly. They've got a great happy hour, too; the place was already packed before 5 o'clock. It was a Saturday night so they were pretty busy. The hostess told us it would take about 30 minutes for a table, but it only took 10 so that was a nice surprise. We ordered the meat lovers pizza with the hand toasted crust. The pizza was really good. Great amount of toppings on it as well. They had several bottles of different barbecue sauces on the table which really interested man I wanted to try them so I ordered a side order french fries just to be able to try them all. They were very interesting and my favorite was the pressed garlic. Everyone that worked here that we encountered with was super nice and very attentive. Excellent pizza!!! Great spot in Oakville if you're looking for BBQ or pizza. We tried the traditional trashed wings with ranch and they were perfectly crispy and delicious. Would order them again. We also enjoyed the Caesar salad which had a ton of parm and a super flavorful dressing. The last item we tried was the House Favorite thin crust pizza. It had a decent amount of toppings, a nice bake on the crust, and the red sauce has a sweet element to it. Overall, we had a great experience sitting on the patio. Overall Nubby's is a solid restaurant and great addition to the Oakville area. We've eaten in and carried out several times and the food is always top notch. Service is fantastic and always attentive. AND...I'm here to tell you, the BLT sandwich might be the best I've ever had!!! It is off the hook good. Bacon is cooked to perfection and packed onto some really tasty thick bread. Picture just the right amount of lettuce, tomato and mayo to complement perfectly. Uh oh, mouth is watering again! Chose the grilled broccoli as my side and would highly recommend. Will definitely have this one again. Make the trip, Nubby's is definitely worth it. read more

Met up with family after they ordered and they shared their Large Hand-Tossed House Favorite Pizza with me. Very good with hamburger, onion, bacon, pepperoni and pepperocini. Looking at the menu, I wouldn't mind coming back to try more items. Good location in a shopping strip off Telegraph near Cliff Cave Park. Popular place as it was crowded on a late Saturday afternoon. I had been hearing wonderful things about Nubbys so we decided to grab some and bring it home. I had a salad which the homemade ranch is really delicious. I also had a deluxe pizza with fried spinach instead of green peppers. This is hands down the best hand tossed pizza I have had in this area. It was hot and fresh and had a lot of toppings. The sauce people say is sweet but I got a spicy kick and that's how I like it so it was okay. The turkey sandwich was recommended and while the turkey was delicious on a to order they put it all together and then tossed green beans (the side) carelessly in and made the sandwich more soggy. This was a big disappointment as only the turkey was edible not the whole sandwich. However what was eaten of the sandwich was good, just be sure to tell them separate wet ingredients on the sandwich. Or have a sandwich when you plan to eat there. Finally we got the Heath Bar cookie and omg it was huge and delicious! Was overall happy with most of our order and will give them another chance. read more

First time here and wanted to see what all the talk was about . Nice clean bright space and wax greased by Gracie and she was a super attentive server and so friendly. Had the house salad with the absolutely best dressing I have ever tasted , the sweet onion dressing made the salad something special. The Felix pizza was great, a nice thin crust with a bit of a chew to hold up to all the toppings that were on the pie. The pie was loaded and I mean loaded with sausage, bacon, pepperoni, onions and green peppers on a slightly sweet tangy sauce.I look forward to my next visit. read more

We love this place! First time at Nubby's, we arrived mid-afternoon when traffic was light. Looking like a typical bar/restaurant, ambiance was low key and inviting. Server Sarah quickly arrived at our table with a smile, bringing our drinks and taking our food order in a quick minute. She was amazing, very friendly, patient, and attentive. I was anxious to try the pastrami sandwich. Normally served on marble rye, I requested it hot (you can also order it cold) on their seeded french bread with provolone and grilled onions, added mustard at the table. My wife decided to try the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries. My pastrami sandwich was amazing, excellent quality meat on a perfectly buttered and grilled french loaf, it melted in my mouth. The fresh and hot onion rings were quite delicious as well. My wife loved her pulled pork sandwich, a generous portion of superbly smoked pork with plenty of savory brown bits. I tried a bit of the pork myself and completely agree with her assessment. It was juicy and very flavorful with just the right amount of smoke. The fries were hot and crispy and perfectly seasoned. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service and, despite living more than 30 miles away, will definitely return. Highly recommended! read more

Once again, another great review for our experience at Nubby's! I've looked at the smoked BBQued shrimp appetizer for a long time and finally tried it tonight. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Great flavor with a little Cajun heat! The toast points were perfect, and necessary, to soak up the sauce! My wife had her usual smash burger and we shared a small Caesar salad. I was pumped to check out the infamous Nubby's after seeing so many posts about it online. It's definitely quite a drive if you live the city. A casual place inside - nothing special, so we did takeout and warmed it up a little at home. We ordered the Wednesday special hand-tossed pizza and their regular STL style pizza. It didn't taste any less fresh because of this. We threw it on our pizza stone in the oven for a few minutes and the thin one warmed up especially fast. The hand-tossed was very good. The crust was the perfect amount of crispy and chewy. Yummy cheese. A very solid pizza option. The thin STL style was interesting. It had a sort of smokey, unique taste to it that I couldn't quite identify, but it tasted great. The crust was a little crackery for me but still had a nice flavor. I have reviewed Nubby's before and was not a huge fan. My teenage daughter loves this restaurant though, so we went back. There were more people there which helped with the atmosphere, there were people standing around the bar talking and laughing, might have been a little loud for a bit of a small restaurant, but that's okay. They were having a good time. I still think the food is just average. Last time I got an entree that I really did not like, this time I ordered from the appetizer menu. I will say the portion was huge. I probably took home more than half of the nachos, plenty of pork on top. I think the crab rangoon looked a little overdone, personally I'd rather have it from a Chinese restaurant, but my daughter likes it and does not complain about it. I will say the service was excellent, the server was friendly and extremely accommodating. That was definitely a high point. I still say if it were up to me I would not return, but I'm sure we will since it is my daughter's fave! read more

Went here for first time yesterday. Their service was great and the 3 meat chili was delicious. I also appreciated that they asked if I wanted to exclude onions and peppers, which I did. Chili had plenty of flavor even without those. I was pleasantly surprised at the good number of waitstaff they had in comparison to the size of the front of the house. read more

We also tried the buffalo chicken dip, this was incredibly smooth and delectable! My husband tried the Texas burnt ends, best he's ever had. I had the pork steak dinner and it was seasoned perfect. Nubby's has six bbq sauces you can try, we liked the pickle garlic and smoky whisky. Planning to come back to try some of the amazing food that walked past our table. This was the worst all around experience I have had at a restaurant in years. The service was terrible and the food was awful. This was only our second time. We really enjoyed our food the first visit and had been telling our daughter about the chicken and dumplings since we had them. Went for dinner tonight and it was no where near the same. It was a Friday night and they were busy, no problem. We waited for our table and were seated faster than quoted. However, we didn't have a waitress for another 15 min. We ordered our drinks- just waters, they came pretty quickly. Then we ordered food. I am a sucker for the Bavarian pretzels so I ordered that and a small house salad, my husband and daughter both ordered bowls of the chicken and dumplings, and then we also got a pizza to share. The chicken and dumplings came out as the cup size first, but they didn't look like what we had enjoyed previously. They we chunks of dumplings with tiny shreds of chicken in a very watery broth. My daughter tried it and broth was bland, she loaded it with salt and pepper but still wasn't good. She didn't eat it. My husband took one bite, making an odd face and couldn't figure out what the main difference was other than the appearance. I tried a bite and it was a super smokey taste that was not there when we ate them before. He didn't eat them either. Our waitress walked by at least 8 times ignoring us, another waitress saw the full bowls on the table and asked if we didn't like them. I explained, she apologized and we waited for our pretzel. Another 20 min went by before our pretzel arrived. It looked great, hanging on the hook...the outside was hot so I broke it into pieces and we each grabbed a piece...the inside of the pretzel was cold and frozen. We ate a few pieces around the frozen part, but ultimately left it. Then another 20 minutes went by before we got our pizza. By this point we had been there for well over an hour and we over it. Our waitress delivered the pizza, I immediately asked for a box and the check. My husband and daughter each ate 1 piece and we boxed it to go. I ate a piece once we got home. The pizza was ok. The outside crust was crispy but the center was very limp. The flavor was good, I would possibly consider ordering take out pizza again, but ask for it to be cooked more. We won't go back to eat there though. This night ruined the chance of that. Restaurants have off nights, but usually either the food or service is still good. Tonight both were bad- really bad. Last time we loved the chicken and dumplings so much that it overshadowed anything we didn't. Not tonight I'm sorry to say. read more

When we walked in, it was FREEZING, and we never warmed up. We got cheese garlic bread, chicken caesar salad, and 2 pizzas. We'd definitely go back as the food was very flavorful, and I really want to check out their BBQ. Our service was ok, she was nice and helpful. I really appreciated how, when we ordered a large salad and said we were going to split it, she had it in 2 bowls when it came to the table.
