i'm glad i found this hole in the wall spot. the workers are always kind and happy to explain anything on the menu. it's clean, the prices are good, and the portions are extremely generous. obsessed with the fresh bread. i'll be back a million times more

Even though they are closing at 3, for regular kitchen maintenance, (it's 2:20 now), they welcomed us in and were happy to serve us. The door says closed on Sunday, but they are open and happy to help. Food looks and tastes amazing! They bake bread in house so I took some of that home too.

WOW!!! Incredible gyros. They're HUGE and decently priced!! Probably could've shared one between the 2 of us. The guys at the counter were so nice! Food came out really quickly.

They are very friendly when you walk up to the counter. Ordering was very fast and easy. Zito Deli is located in the Ritz center off Lemay Ferry. A no frills clean storefront restaurant. I got the Doner Sandwich. The bread was fresh and delicious...actually the whole sandwich was. The fries were crispy and plentiful. The gyro was just as good. Both are HUGE!!!!! Do it!!!!

Some of the best food you'll ever experience! Excellent service and very affordable prices.

Double Smash gyro burger. Don't think about it ..just don't, trust me. But be hungry!

Employees were extremely nice and willing to help us through our first time visit. The owner said I should try the Gyro Double Smash burger....sidenote....they were right on. It was amazing! Two huge smashed burger patties covered in cheese. Then tons...I mean tons of gyro meat....and to top it all off...it's topped with in house made 1000 Island. This is a must burger!!! My wife got the gyro meal and she said it was huge and amazing!! She's excited to go back. We had a nice little booth in the back with enough room to talk. We can't wait to try some more items...but in all honesty...I'm getting the gyro burger...wow.

Great food, clean and friendly service. The doner kebab and cheese pita were both terrific. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Would definitely return. Great work!

    Donor Gyro split in half!

Absolutely the BEST Gyros EVER!! My husband and I split the Donor Gyro and had leftovers, plus a ton of fries! Amazing food at an incredible price! The staff were just as wonderful and friendly!! Highly recommend!!!!

Excellent food and huge portions. Menu prices on Yelp are dated. Gyro was $13 - but again, huge portions! Definitely recommend.

It was great…read more I read in my preview that the line to the counter is always there...but it moves quickly...and it is and does. I had to visit Blues City as I heard they have great Po Boys...and they do. I am used to having oysters or shrimp on a Po Boy. Not here. They are basically served with many versions of meat. I had the Benton Park Po Boy and it was incredible. The sandwich has ham, roast beef, turkey, provel, and is dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, pepperoncini, sweet red pepper sauce on french bread. My wife, being vegetarian had the Panino Fresco. It included mozzarella, provolone, dressed with homemade olive salad, tomato, onion & Italian vinegar oil on an Italian roll. This was the first time in 26 years that she finished the entire sandwich. I had a bite of hers, and it is easy to see why she she finished it. So good. I even bought a memorable t-shirt as I loved Blues City Deli. The female counter person was so friendly. She even wrote down three other restaurants to try while we were visiting St Louis. Blues City Deli is a can't miss place and if we are back in St. Louis...we will be back.

First, I love that this is a locally family owned and run Busines. We tried the Zach and the Meatball sandwich. The Zach was packed with turkey, cheese and pesto. The Meatball sandwich is honestly one of the Top 10 Meatball sandwiches in STL! It truly highlights the famous Vitale Sauce/Gravy recipe! One Saturday I took my kids to Kirkwood park and decided to stop in at Vitale's on the way home. I'm so glad that I did! The shop isn't anything fancy, there is a counter inside and then a handful of tables outside. It is primarily a to go joint which is pretty standard for delis. It gives off the vibe that you should just stroll up from the neighborhood and grab something to eat, chat for a while with other locals, and then head home. It has a nice, no frills vibe that I really enjoyed. The sandwiches are pretty typical for an Italian Deli with most of them featuring variations of lunchmeat. I'm always a sucker for meatball sandwiches though so that is what I got with a side of chips. It was outstanding. The meatballs were GIANT and they were the right texture. It was large enough that I had to split it across two meals. The owner was really nice when I was inside and talked to both of my kids. My kids were so well behaved they convinced me to buy them a cannoli on the way out the door. Over this shop fills its niche well, the shop was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. I'll be stopping back in again in the near future.

But after an intense Costco trip, we were wanting a hearty sandwich. They are located in a strip mall, where they are many other busy businesses so parking can be a little tough. But going in, they were packed! Tip to tail, it was just people trying to get their food. And, that was us waiting a while to come in to pick up our goods. So, absolutely order ahead because it will make it somewhat easier. We ordered: The JD Cold Shoulder - cold cuts on a garlic roll with chipotle ranch. My husband loved his, and glad he ordered it with the garlic roll. Joe's Spicy Italian - this was spicy and sweet, and it really hits when you love a good spicy italian sandwich. LOL! Have I eaten the best sandwich I've ever had here? No. But they are still solid. Service is friendly and there's a lot of seating because most people take their sandwiches to go.
