Great food and service. Always clean. We go several times a month for brunch.. Try the gyro as a sandwich or omelet.

The food is great and the service is great. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but give this place a try. Friendly staff!

To be a last minute find a place... that was close by, easy to get into and DELICIOUS! This place checked all the boxes. We went in around noon. We bought parking close to The Arch but it didn't start until 2 PM so we were trying to time it just right. We were here just over 1 hour. It allowed us plenty of time to eat and drive time to Arch parking. It wasn't on purpose but we both ended up with chorizo. I had a chorizo bowl with sunny eggs. I did want some fruit so I ended up with a side of fruit and 2 biscuits. The biscuits are droolworthy; Not enough places make biscuits like that. My wife ordered the chorizo omelet. She loved it but had plenty to take for leftovers. They have a small parking lot but we parked on the nearby side street and didn't have an issue. I thought we'd have to wait for a table but we didn't have any wait. Maybe this is a hidden gem of St Louis. It certainly is to us because it was so tasty. This place deserves all the business. 269 percent worth checking out! What are you waiting for?

Pros: Had a lovely waitress, food was delicious and the restaurant is clean (including bathrooms). Cons: It took 35 minutes for my food to come to the table! I was there at 12pm on a Friday afternoon. There were no more than 10 tables sat so that's concerning. The parking lot is TINY but street parking is scarce so prepare to scout for a spot.

I went with two friends on a Sunday at 9am and the whole experience felt rushed from the beginning. I do think this was partly because you do not have a dedicated server which sounds nice in theory. We were asked if we were ready to order multiple times, by multiple people in just a few minutes. My friend was then asked if they could clear her plate at least 10 times because she was not actively eating. By the last time it was almost comical and she ended up apologizing to the server and asked for a few more minutes as she is a slower eater and takes breaks. Dedicated sections for servers would go a long way here.

The restaurant was packed and had a line (for good reason)! Once seated, our server checked on us frequently and listed their specials soundly. I opted for the sandwich special of the day, the Monte cristo, and my partner got one of the Benedict's. We split the special waffles of the day, the French toast waffle. We also both got a good drink with our meal. The Monte Cristo was perfectly sweet and savory. Incredible potion sizing for the price and a delicious plate. The French toast waffle was insane. Such a perfect sweet treat to finish our meal!

TL;dr version- loved this place and will make regular appearances here…read more I have no idea why we haven't been here yet. Now that we have, it's going to the top of our regular rotation of breakfast places. Homey atmosphere, plenty of tables and bar seating (no alcohol). Busy but not too busy. We sat at the bar. The staff were so friendly. The menu is just big enough to have a good selection without being overwhelming (no one needs a 10 page menu). The prices were outstanding. We looked at the menu online ahead of time and thought it must be an outdated menu with outdated prices. Nope. We both got the Big Biscuit Breakfast. Yep, it was big. It took a little bit to come out, but we were in no hurry, so that was fine. It was sooo good. I appreciate the generous serving of gravy. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly- not too crispy, not too soggy. We didn't get any drinks besides water, but we had a front row seat watching them being made. I wish I had room for one, because they looked spectacular. We had a decent amount leftover to take home for tomorrow's breakfast. The bartender offered to make us water cups for the road (a really nice extra touch). The place looked clean and put together nicely. Can't wait to go back and try their lunch.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The owner was very welcoming! The biscuits are delicious and there are a variety of breakfast and lunch items to choose from. Songbird is the Dolly Parton of St. Louis breakfast: bigger stage, brighter lights, same voice…read more I've followed this operation since it was a sandwich pop-up at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market, through the brick-and-mortar in The Grove, and now into its larger home in Tower Grove South. The quality has not wavered once. I ordered what I always order: The Combo (fried eggs, maplewood smoked bacon, cheese, brioche toast), extra egg, extra bacon. Most kitchens treat a fried egg as binary (runny or ruined). Songbird has mastered the middle register: lacy edges with a yolk that stays glossy and intact right up until the first bite. I ordered them over hard, and they came out a bit closer to over medium, but they were just as good as I wanted them to be. The bacon carries real smoke. This is a decadent sandwich, big enough that half of it would make a light breakfast; I wasn't remotely hungry after one, the second half was indulgent. The service made the move too. The hostess still recognizes returning customers, and the bigger room finally lets the dining experience breathe. The service at the table could have been a little warmer as we've had it the past, but it is still professional. I was there with two close college buddies, one of whom declared his latte excellent. I keep meaning to get adventurous with the menu, but it is genuinely hard to find a bacon, egg, and cheese toasted this perfectly, and I'd go twice in one day if given the opportunity. 4.8 A full five arrives the day when I can arrive first thing on a Saturday without a 30 minute wait, honestly, it's hard to get a reservation here because of its popularity. Good for them. Cheers to you, Songbird. Dolly would be proud

*Not accessible *Not kid friendly…read more This location has a lot of improvements to be made. The menu is bland and they deter you from making modifications. I wanted my toast's jam to be on the side and they said no. It was a thick tasteless brick without the jam. The items are not as traditional for a breakfast spot, and when I asked the server what they were known for she said the drinks.... They also run a tight turnaround time so they will make you feel uncomfortable when its time to clear your table and pay the bill because they will tell you the next reservation is in 5minutes. The plates were all different and my guest who got a sandwich had her food come out in a plastic fry basket instead of the nicer plates. Odd. As I mentioned earlier, they are not kid friendly as they don't have a kids menu or kid friendly items like fruit and pancakes. We ordered a side of avocado and chicken sausage as those were the safest for us. Also there are no changing tables in the restrooms. Accessibility note: the entrance is a giant multi-slope and 1 turn ramp into a cramped lobby. The men's restroom is the only one on the main floor and female restroom is tucked far in the backroom inaccessible due to a steep step in the back. It is not wheelchair or walker friendly.
