The staff were so friendly. The menu is just big enough to have a good selection without being overwhelming (no one needs a 10 page menu). The prices were outstanding. We looked at the menu online ahead of time and thought it must be an outdated menu with outdated prices. Nope. We both got the Big Biscuit Breakfast. Yep, it was big. It took a little bit to come out, but we were in no hurry, so that was fine. It was sooo good. I appreciate the generous serving of gravy. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly- not too crispy, not too soggy. We didn't get any drinks besides water, but we had a front row seat watching them being made. I wish I had room for one, because they looked spectacular. We had a decent amount leftover to take home for tomorrow's breakfast. The bartender offered to make us water cups for the road (a really nice extra touch). The place looked clean and put together nicely. Can't wait to go back and try their lunch.

When we walked inside, we were greeted right away and they had a table available, so we were seated quickly! Our server was already offering coffee and water to us which was perfect. She gave us time to check the menu and since I already knew what I wanted, I helped my hubby make a decision since so many items were on his list. He eventually ordered the western skillet and I ordered the strawberry pancakes which I could not wait to eat! While we waited for our food, the server(s) on the floor were checking in with us and chatting with us ehile they refilled our coffee. Once the food arrived, I was so ready to dig in! My pancakes were topped with strawbery glaze and so many strawberries, I knew I would not be able to finish, but that didn't stop me from trying. I did eventually need to ask for a box and broght them home for later. My hubby said that the skillet was really good and had all his favorite food items included. To start, daughter and her friend both ordered the hearty breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes. Both enjoyed their meals, and said the pancakes were great. Wife ordered the same but with plain pancakes and liked that as well. Her bacon (which of course she didn't finish) was terrific. I was torn - I really wanted the country omelette which is basically the western plus sausage gravy with a biscuit but the bananas foster pancakes sounded so good. Our server convinced me to just go nuts and order the omelette and add half an order of pancakes. Her upsell training was on point, because the add wasn't cheap but indeed I needed to taste them. And like I said . . . . Best. Pancakes. Ever. The omelette was great. The biscuit was just ok. The pancakes were indescribably amazing. And I've had my fair share of pancakes of all types shapes and sizes. These are #1. Service was great, the restaurant is in a nice strip mall in a good area of town. Within minutes, Mary, my server, came and greeted me. I gave her my entire order ( big bite breakfast: scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, peppers, and spinach, sourdough toast, fruit, and chicken sausage, and a Bellini. To my disbelief, everything arrived within minutes! Trust, I was not complaining! The first couple bites of my eggs were quite splendid! They were cheesy, and filled with plenty of spinach and peppers as I had requested. I loved that the sourdough wasn't rock hard and already came buttered. That will forever be a win in my book. Usually I'll put some type of syrup on my meat, but the chicken sausage was fine without it. It had a nice flavor and was well-seasoned. Last but not least was the peach Bellini, which wasn't too sweet, but was refreshing and the perfect accompaniment for my breakfast aside from the water. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit and must highlight the exemplary service from Mary and the staff. The quick turn around and good food sold me, so rest assured I'll be back!

The decor is US pride/military freedom and in general a modern diner with with old school roots with the old fashioned lunch counter and round fixed stools. My service was good with that southern pace. I ordered the classic slinger with chili but the menu does have country version with country gravy that I haven't seen before. My classic slinger was deep fried cubed potatoes topped with topped with a mound of chili, scrambled eggs, cheese, red onions, two juicy pork sausage patties and a side of toast. This was a big portion and probably the best slinger I have had. The chili had a hormel can taste which isn't bad but with a homemade recipe of fresh beans and fresh ground beef with a beefy flavor. OMG this was fu#king delicious and my only complaint was one slice of toast to make my famous toast sandwich. Overall the slinger was probably the best one to date and anyone who follows me knows I'm trying to get restaurants in the Milwaukee area to create one which is never the same as the St Louis only classic breakfast dish, yep they hit this one out of the park.

We found Oats & Honey Cafe and ordered pickup. This place is in Creve Couer off of Olive Rd, which means limited parking and heavy traffic getting there. That being said, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The service was also pleasant, but they took about 10 minutes to hand me my order - not ideal when you're in a rush. The food we got was very good. Lemon Ricatta Pancakes? Absolutely amazing combination! Traditional Breakfast? Delicious - eggs, bacon and hash browns were SO flavorful. Red Velvet Latte? Interesting combo, a bit too strong for my taste. All I could taste was coffee. Slow service and strong coffee aside, we'll be back to Oats & Honey, maybe next time for dine-in when we have more time!
