Abhorrent customer service. The manager was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. This establishment has been around for 10+ years, yet apparently does not know how to appropriately handle situations involving young children. Our child had only recently turned two, and rather than addressing her concerns with us calmly and professionally, the manager told me I was a "bad mother" and said that our two-year-old "has anger issues." Regardless of what concern she may have had, speaking to a parent and characterizing a two-year-old in that manner is completely unacceptable. Even more shockingly, the interaction did not end when we left. The manager followed us out to our car and continued screaming at us. There is simply no justification for a manager following a family into the parking lot to continue a confrontation. There are respectful, professional ways to address concerns with parents, particularly when very young children are involved. This was the exact opposite. We will absolutely not be returning. read more

I have been all over the country over the course of my life and BBQ is my favorite food to seek out but the St Louis slinger is my second favorite regional dish that is only a St Louis MO thing so I stopped by for one. The decor is US pride/military freedom and in general a modern diner with with old school roots with the old fashioned lunch counter and round fixed stools. My service was good with that southern pace. I ordered the classic slinger with chili but the menu does have country version with country gravy that I haven't seen before. My classic slinger was deep fried cubed potatoes topped with topped with a mound of chili, scrambled eggs, cheese, red onions, two juicy pork sausage patties and a side of toast. This was a big portion and probably the best slinger I have had. The chili had a hormel can taste which isn't bad but with a homemade recipe of fresh beans and fresh ground beef with a beefy flavor. OMG this was fu#king delicious and my only complaint was one slice of toast to make my famous toast sandwich. Overall the slinger was probably the best one to date and anyone who follows me knows I'm trying to get restaurants in the Milwaukee area to create one which is never the same as the St Louis only classic breakfast dish, yep they hit this one out of the park. read more

The breakfast food was filling. I would have preferred a few more vegetables on the menu, but the food ws good. We had a great waitress. The restaurant is on a mixed use street near Soulard Market and there is a school right across from it. It was quiet enough to enjoy conversation at our table. I would visit again. read more

Grabbed breakfast at Nadine's on a Saturday morning. We got there before 10 and were able to get a table quickly. It got VERY busy while we were eating. They also don't seat 2 people at a 4 top. We got drinks quickly - I was surprised at how good the coffee was for a diner type place. I got the hash and it was very good. It was too salty for my husband, but I loved it. Nadines Hash House is quite the hidden gem. Ot was war and cozy. There was a place designated fir selfies. I wish I had found this place much sooner. I was warmly greeted by the owner, Nadine. She sat us quickly. Her staff were the best. Everyone was so personable. The food was amazing. I tried the cod sandwich. It was delicious. The fries were fresh cut fries. I asked for cheese fries. But when I saw they were fresh cut fries I didn't want cheese on them. I was happy that I didn't get cheese. They were perfectly cooked and delicious. There was parking in front and plenty of parking in the back. They offer Mimosa and othe adult beverages. I even purchased a souvenir coffee mug. This is located in the Soulard area. The food at Nadine's Hash House is good, but the service significantly took away from the experience. We were seated first, yet tables seated after us were greeted and served coffee before we were even acknowledged. Our waitress, Rachel, only came over after we had been sitting for quite some time and I began looking around to get someone's attention. When she finally approached, I politely mentioned that other guests seated after us already had coffee and said it was unfortunate. Instead of responding professionally or apologetically, she took an attitude toward it, which made the interaction uncomfortable. The situation could and should have been handled much better with simple acknowledgment and courtesy. After that exchange, she walked over to another waiter to complain about or discuss the situation, but stopped when she noticed I was watching. Our total bill was $92, and although I thought about tipping 2¢, I still tipped $9 (10%) because we did manage to have a good time and the food itself was good. That said, had the service been more professional, she would have easily received a minimum $30 tip. As we were walking out, someone walking in asked if the food was good, and I told them yes and even recommended the deluxe biscuits and gravy. The food is delicious. Can't lie about that. However, as a paying customer, I don't and won't tolerate dismissive or rude service. Great food, but the service needs improvement. Nadine is also an arrogant woman whose cheap box color hair dye is obviously getting to her head. People of color please spend your money elsewhere! read more

It's the quintessential diner: counter seating, no frills breakfast, big portions, regulars, and a friendly owner often found behind the counter. Except it's better because they serve mimosas and cocktails, have a ton of other seating, and even have several vegetarian options (not always the case at a diner!). Oh my goodness I couldn't say enough good things about Nadine and her restaurant. I had a large over 12 person order which was over $200 for a work meeting. I called the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us and Nadine is who answered the phone, she is the owner, she was so very kind and sweet. She gave me her personal number so that I could send her the order the night before and she would have it ready before they even opened since our meeting started really early. Nadine went above and beyond to accommodate us, and I couldn't be more thankful When I went to pick up the order, she even wrote the names of whose order was on the boxes to make it so much easier for myself. Nadine also added silverware and much more to our bags without us having to ask. I am definitely impressed and everything was exactly how we ordered it. I will be returning much more frequently! All the servers were incredibly nice they were working hard and Nadine was even in the back of the kitchen helping out. My friend and I were turning around after leaving Soulard Market and stumbled upon this place. I liked the music that was playing and found myself dancing in my seat. The diner was bright and clean. My friend liked her grits, but my hash considering the name of the place was just okay it sort of tasted burnt. Our waitress was nice, but there was a very unfriendly vibe there.
