Turn is real casual and cute and the vinyl wall was pretty dope! The wait time was not too long to be seated. We ordered pineapple mimosas for the table, but after placing our order, our meals took a while and we had to ask about our waiter. I ordered the turn sandwich with a salad and it was delicious!! I believe we both ordered the same sandwich. I believe the menu changes as well for brunch, so I can't recall the exact order, but I know it was very tasty! Sort of a weird location, it was in the same building as a theater. We got there around 9:45 and there was not one other table in the restaurant. While we were eating, it filled up a bit so it seems like it attracts a later crowd. It seemed noisy and very echoey - maybe from the high ceilings. If you haven't been to turn for any kind of meal, especially brunch, you're absolutely missing out. You truly cannot go wrong with anything in this menu. The staff is awesome and very welcoming. They have a variety of drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) as well as coffee. I got a latte and it was lovely, smooth and delicious. The biscuit flight is the real deal. It's a variety of biscuits on, you guessed it- a flight, with different accoutrements to accompany the biscuits. These biscuits were insane. My favorite one was a variety that had mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes (more of a savory gal). They're all good in their own special way, and they rotate their flavors. The breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious. This would be my go to when I come back. The flavor of the mix ins with the egg was spectacular. I also tried the avocado toast which I really enjoyed. Best brunch I've had in awhile! Turn knows how to do biscuits. Fluffy, slightly crispy exterior, and pairs perfectly with their bacon and eggs to make the best breakfast sandwich (it normally comes on a croissant but I swapped it for the biscuit). The shaved brussel sprouts are flash fried and super light with an incredible flavor. It's easy to eat the entire portion which is generous for a side. This was my third time coming to Turn. I enjoy the casual atmosphere and chill vibes. The music is a plus as well. I've only been on the weekend and the crowd has varied each time. Looked on the web for "breakfast near SLU baseball field" and Turn came up with a comment that said "best breakfast I've ever had." Piqued our curiosity. And when we walked in to this hip room with GREAT music and were asked if we had a reservation, we knew we'd hit pay dirt -- what brunch places need reservations? This one. The chef was a DJ and restaurateur in San Francisco who returned to St. Louis some years ago. "Turn" is so named because of the display of records on the wall (hall of fame of vinyl!) and the music from the 70s and 80s was, to this former radio announcer, outstanding. So was breakfast. We opted for the Biscuit Sampler -- four biscuits with different flavors including one plain, one buttermilk/leek, one rosemary/thyme, and one lemon poppyseed. Along with it, the Arepa (apparently a crowd favorite); a corn cake with chorizo, eggs, avocado, and chile verde. Two of us split the works. The biscuits were served with butter, marmalade, and honey, and they all totally killed. The Arepe was unique and fabulous. As a bonus, the server was super good and super helpful, and the owner even stopped by to talk music. Fun, eclectic, diverse crowd, a funky room, and a great brunch. I have been to turn about 3-4 times for brunch so I am shocked I haven't written a review yet. This restaurant is amazing as is its owner. Went here most recently for brunch before going to the aquarium. Ordered chicken and waffles for my meal along with some coffee. Food was excellent. The restaurant is super cool, it has records on the wall which are cool to look at and talk about. I am also on a board of a non profit and the owner was very generous in giving us a donation for our auction. Only complaint is that they are only open for breakfast/brunch right now. Came here on a snowy mid morning for a late breakfast! The entrance is through what seems to be a theater. Once inside it is a big open space with a cool wall with different album pictures. The service was friendly and quick. They have a changing daily menu in addition to their regular menu which is nice if you want to try something different. We ordered the Turn Breakfast with 2 eggs over medium, biscuit and chicken sausage. My daughter ordered the same but with scrambled eggs, sourdough bread and instead of the meat she asked for a pancake which they kindly accommodated without a problem. Everything about this plate was great except for the chicken sausage. Don't know how to describe why the taste was just not good but I didn't end up eating it. I will never stop raving about Turn! This is easily one of my top favorite restaurants in St. Louis for a variety of reasons. I've eaten at Turn almost ten times now, and each visit has been its own unique, positive experience. It's truly the little things that make Turn such a special place. The attention to detail for both their food and service is impeccable. I always see the same employees working when I visit, which tells me that they are treated well and have a low turnover rate. Employees are always very personable and accommodating. The interior of the restaurant is trendy and minimalistic. Such a nice ambience! The owner is absolutely incredible. I love his story and background, and even better, I love how he has incorporated his music and culinary past into his restaurant. On a side note, Turn's website is very aesthetically pleasing and perfectly represents the owner's DJ background. Every single time I have eaten here, the owner has taken the time to visit each table and express his gratitude to guests. Additionally, I always see him lending a hand wherever he can. Whether he's in the back cooking or in the front polishing silverware, he demonstrates true, admirable leadership. I can tell he genuinely loves what he does. Turn's menu is truly like no other! They have a seasonal menu that rotates regularly, as well as a regular menu. I usually get their seasonal pancakes. The first time I visited, I ordered Strawberry Rhubarb Pancakes, and I was blown away by the flavor and quality! During my most recent visit, I ordered Raspberry Lemon Pancakes. You seriously can't go wrong with whatever seasonal pancakes they're serving! I also highly recommend their Biscuit Flight. It's absolutely perfect for sharing, and the biscuit flavors rotate regularly, too. Easily the best biscuits I've ever had! Their level of freshness and flavor is hard to find anywhere else. Turn even puts their own special spin on French Toast, a common breakfast food. Considering the quality of ingredients and the uniqueness of the menu, everything is very reasonably priced. Once my friend and I arrived, we were seated at a table and water was brought over to our table right away. We also ordered some juice and coffee and the flight of biscuits. How is Turn not packed every weekend? Service is consistently amazing. Our server is usually a younger guy w glasses and he always shares cool tidbits about the food. This time we had a newer server Jordyn, who was also amazing. She remembered the specials by heart even though they were out of paper menus, which wouldn't have been a huge feat at face value except she was able to answer our kinda particular omnivore questions even though she hasn't tasted some of the dishes w meat. Also super friendly and made great recommendations and double checked everything was cooked to perfection. The latte was made perfectly + the huckleberry fizz had a nice flavor + balance to it. The duck breast on the breakfast sandwich was juicy + delicious + the Brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy. I really enjoyed the Monte Cristo sandwich. It came on like a French toast type of bread + when you dip it in the strawberry jam that comes on the side, it tasted like heaven!! 10/10 recommend that dish specifically. For this meal, we went with the Avocado toast and LEO (I am a sucker for smoked salmon!). Both were very tasty and balanced flavors between the capers and dill on the LEO and the pickled radishes and tomatoes on the avocado toast. At first glance, the dishes may seem on the small side but I found the LEO to be very satisfying.
