White chocolate chip pancakes and Brussel sprouts
    Tiffany N.

Enjoyable atmosphere. The music was jammin'. And because I was there early in the day, I got my meal quickly. The pancakes had crispy edges and were fluffy. They weren't too sweet (this is a positive) the compote and syrup add the sugar. The Brussels sprouts were seasoned well and also had a bit of crisp to them. I had enough for a small snack for later.

Best brunch I've had in awhile! Turn knows how to do biscuits. Fluffy, slightly crispy exterior, and pairs perfectly with their bacon and eggs to make the best breakfast sandwich (it normally comes on a croissant but I swapped it for the biscuit). The shaved brussel sprouts are flash fried and super light with an incredible flavor. It's easy to eat the entire portion which is generous for a side. My boyfriend had the arepa with chorizo and we agreed that both of our dishes were equally yummy. I've already made a res to return next week. This place is my new favorite brunch treat!

Brown Derby Cocktail! Uncle Nearest Bourbon, Honey, Grapefruit juice

Review Refresh! Brunch visit this day and room for me at the Bar. Arrival around Noon and it was packed! Started the visit with the Brown Derby cocktail, Uncle Nearest Bourbon - Honey - Grapefruit, it's got a kick and it's enjoyable! Refreshing finish with the Grapefruit while giving you a bang for the buck with the Bourbon. Meal, Breakfast Burrito - Add Bacon - no Beans - Add fries. Ok, the fries are fresh cuts which is an added bonus and they are seasoned!! The fries are what you need if you are having Brunch Cocktails. They are cooked perfectly and there's an ample amount. The Burrito is fat with eggs and toppings! I left this meal just on the cusp of too full. Lol!!

The biscuit flight is such an excellent idea. I would solely go back to have that again. I got an iced mocha as well that was delicious. I got a seasonal sweet potato dish, and other dishes that we got included a burger and chicken and waffles. Service was ok as it was a crowded Sunday morning and it was a little bit noisier of an atmosphere, but not enough to dissuade me from going again.

Great breakfast experience with background music that sends me to my happy place. Started with knowledgeable wait staff terrific chai latte followed by Brie BLT that was light flavorful with crisp bacon and fresh greens. I opted for the Brussels sprouts as my side- winner winner winner. So yummy. My friend chose the Arepa. It's a corn cake with an egg and chicken chorizo on top. We both agreed the egg was cooked to perfection, the corn cake while tasty was a bit dry. We also shared one biscuit with gravy. It was absolutely wonderful. Next time I will try their biscuit flight.

If you're in St. Louis, you absolutely must visit Turn Brunch, where Chef Sympho takes brunch to a whole new level! From the moment you step in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff set the perfect tone for a delightful dining experience. The highlight, of course, is the food! Chef Sympho's creativity truly shines in every dish. Chef Sympho's passion for culinary excellence is evident in every bite. It's clear that he puts a lot of thought into not just the flavors, but also the presentation. Overall, Turn Brunch is a must-visit spot for food lovers and brunch enthusiasts alike.

My goodness so good! The dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. My husband had to resist the temptation to lick the plate. Paid street parking only.

This was my third time coming to Turn. I enjoy the casual atmosphere and chill vibes. The music is a plus as well. I've only been on the weekend and the crowd has varied each time. I'd def say this is a place for everyone. Food: Everything we've had was great, my favorite is the fries! Check out my pics to see how scrumptious and seasoned they are! On this recent visit, we had the special menu burger and the turkey club. In addition to a mimosa carafe, which is fairly priced at $34 Only rating 4 stars because the menu is a bit limited for my personal preference. Would give 4.5 but other than that, 5 stars all around! Great spot in midtown area and the owner will even walk around to greet and check on patrons. Customer service is stellar. Make a reservation if you think it'll be busy!

My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day. It was last minute and they sat us right away! Service was great, the workers were friendly and the food came out fast. The food was soooo good. We ordered the biscuit flight first and the first bite set the tone. All the food was so good. 10/10

Munchin' + Brunchin' at TURN! One of many gems in the Grand Center Arts District, Turn Restaurant combines Chef David Kirkland's love for the culinary arts with his enjoyment of all things music. The menu leans into health-centered American comfort food--the kind of earthy dishes you can devour and still take on the day feeling like a million bucks! From the tall windows that flood the dining room with sunlight to the ever-changing wall of vinyl records, this is an absolutely energizing place to begin your day. Brunch Hours Wednesday-Friday 9am-2pm Saturday-Sunday 9am-3pm P.S. The unbelievable mural across the street serves as the perfect backdrop for an impromptu photo shoot!

Looked on the web for "breakfast near SLU baseball field" and Turn came up with a comment that said "best breakfast I've ever had." Piqued our curiosity. And when we walked in to this hip room with GREAT music and were asked if we had a reservation, we knew we'd hit pay dirt -- what brunch places need reservations? This one. The chef was a DJ and restaurateur in San Francisco who returned to St. Louis some years ago. "Turn" is so named because of the display of records on the wall (hall of fame of vinyl!) and the music from the 70s and 80s was, to this former radio announcer, outstanding. So was breakfast. We opted for the Biscuit Sampler -- four biscuits with different flavors including one plain, one buttermilk/leek, one rosemary/thyme, and one lemon poppyseed. Along with it, the Arepa (apparently a crowd favorite); a corn cake with chorizo, eggs, avocado, and chile verde. Two of us split the works. The biscuits were served with butter, marmalade, and honey, and they all totally killed. The Arepe was unique and fabulous. As a bonus, the server was super good and super helpful, and the owner even stopped by to talk music. Fun, eclectic, diverse crowd, a funky room, and a great brunch. And certainly up there among the best breakfasts we've ever had. Lovely surprise.

Iced Oatmilk Chai with a pump of Vanilla

Came here on a snowy mid morning for a late breakfast! The entrance is through what seems to be a theater. Once inside it is a big open space with a cool wall with different album pictures. The service was friendly and quick. They have a changing daily menu in addition to their regular menu which is nice if you want to try something different. We ordered the Turn Breakfast with 2 eggs over medium, biscuit and chicken sausage. My daughter ordered the same but with scrambled eggs, sourdough bread and instead of the meat she asked for a pancake which they kindly accommodated without a problem. Everything about this plate was great except for the chicken sausage. Don't know how to describe why the taste was just not good but I didn't end up eating it. For drinks we ordered an iced oat milk Chai with a pump of vanilla and that was very tasty!

Delicious food and amazing service. The inside of the restaurant is also very nice and the owner is so friendly to costumers.

The quality has not wavered once. I ordered what I always order: The Combo (fried eggs, maplewood smoked bacon, cheese, brioche toast), extra egg, extra bacon. Most kitchens treat a fried egg as binary (runny or ruined). Songbird has mastered the middle register: lacy edges with a yolk that stays glossy and intact right up until the first bite. I ordered them over hard, and they came out a bit closer to over medium, but they were just as good as I wanted them to be. The bacon carries real smoke. This is a decadent sandwich, big enough that half of it would make a light breakfast; I wasn't remotely hungry after one, the second half was indulgent. The service made the move too. The hostess still recognizes returning customers, and the bigger room finally lets the dining experience breathe. The service at the table could have been a little warmer as we've had it the past, but it is still professional. I was there with two close college buddies, one of whom declared his latte excellent. I keep meaning to get adventurous with the menu, but it is genuinely hard to find a bacon, egg, and cheese toasted this perfectly, and I'd go twice in one day if given the opportunity. 4.8 A full five arrives the day when I can arrive first thing on a Saturday without a 30 minute wait, honestly, it's hard to get a reservation here because of its popularity. Good for them. Cheers to you, Songbird. Dolly would be proud

*Not accessible *Not kid friendly…read more This location has a lot of improvements to be made. The menu is bland and they deter you from making modifications. I wanted my toast's jam to be on the side and they said no. It was a thick tasteless brick without the jam. The items are not as traditional for a breakfast spot, and when I asked the server what they were known for she said the drinks.... They also run a tight turnaround time so they will make you feel uncomfortable when its time to clear your table and pay the bill because they will tell you the next reservation is in 5minutes. The plates were all different and my guest who got a sandwich had her food come out in a plastic fry basket instead of the nicer plates. Odd. As I mentioned earlier, they are not kid friendly as they don't have a kids menu or kid friendly items like fruit and pancakes. We ordered a side of avocado and chicken sausage as those were the safest for us. Also there are no changing tables in the restrooms. Accessibility note: the entrance is a giant multi-slope and 1 turn ramp into a cramped lobby. The men's restroom is the only one on the main floor and female restroom is tucked far in the backroom inaccessible due to a steep step in the back. It is not wheelchair or walker friendly.

We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Fantastic food, mediocre service…read more I took my partner her for his birthday, we were planning to celebrate with friends over the weekend but I wanted to treat him to a romantic dinner with incredible food in a laid back environment and this completely fit the bill. We had been previously for brunch but neither of us had been for dinner so we were really excited. From the moment we walked in the vibes just felt off. Not bad, just off. I made a reservation for 7pm. When we pulled up at 6:55 I noticed that my reservation confirmation showed 6:45. I'm certain I made it for 7:00. Not sure what happened there, and not blaming them for that, but I'm curious if that's why things felt off. When creating a reservation it prompts you to include any dietary restrictions and whether you are celebrating anything. I included that we were celebrating a 40th birthday. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty we were crammed directly next to another table despite other 2 tops being available. We were close enough to our neighbors to hear their entire conversation. It's a small space, I get it, but it felt odd especially since several tables around us remained empty for the 2 hours of our visit. I enjoy a leisurely dinner but that not what this was. The service was just that slow and inattentive that it took that long. We saw our server visit the table next to us several times before we were even greeted. I waited about 10 minutes before finally going to the bathroom and that's when he decided to come to the table, so if there was a greeting, listing specials anything at all I missed it'. He came by again when my partner was in the bathroom. We had already waited a while, I would not have minded waiting a little longer for us both to be present for the greeting. I want to be clear that the service was in no way bad, it was just very lackluster. The only real issue we ran into was waiting a very long time for one of our appetizers. Not the end of the world, but for the caliber of restaurant that this is I would at least expect attentive or kind or personable service and it was none of those. He was nice enough, but was very much an order-taker only. We were not offered any suggestions or recommendations at all, it felt very transactional. The kicker was as we were leaving we see someone (not our server) approaching our table with a dessert and a candle. They specifically walked past another party towards where we were sitting (the table next to us was gone by this point). We had paid our bill about 10 minutes earlier and were just walking away. I think "oh they are bringing him a birthday dessert how sweet!" So we sit back at our table only to see the same person backtrack to a nearby table and bring the dessert to them. I was mortified for thinking it was for us and actually sitting back down. We leave, there are 3 people standing there (including the person who brought the dessert and saw the whole thing) and no one even acknowledges us leaving. It was all just so bizarre. I wasn't expecting rolling out the red carpet and certainly wasn't expecting anything for free for the birthday, but I was expecting *some* level of hospitality, especially when I made it explicitly clear we were celebrating. My partner does not treat himself to ANYTHING nice and it was a milestone birthday. I wanted to make it unforgettable. We loved our food and again, didn't have a *bad* experience, but I chose to dine out to make him feel as special and well taken care of as he makes me feel and this just didn't hit the mark.

Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
