Bucatini and Ozark Forest mushroom pizza
Sean M.

Wow. Why this place isn't PACKED right now amazes me. Folks, this is THE REAL DEAL. Everything--and I mean EVERYTHING--was beyond phenomenal. We started with the Caprese salad, and it was the best that my husband has ever had , according to him. I was equally blown away by the freshness of the mozzarella and the perfect blend of flavors. We then had the Ozark Forest mushroom pizza and the bucatini pasta for our entrée. Both were perfection. Finished with the panna cotta, and it was to die for. Perfect balance of sweet, salty, and a texture that was silky smooth. Brian took excellent care of us. He was super attentive, helpful, and so kind.

I got Press to go and was blown away by the deliciousness of the Big Mac Pizza! The flavor is so perfect and so is the texture. I also got the olives and they were perfect. I think even people who don't like olives would like these. Could not have asked for a better meal. It's a little pricey, but it was the perfect comfort food.

Wow wow what an amazing pizza! Love that the style is different than so many other pizza places in stl. The Caesar salad, the drinks, definitely a place to try. I like that they have some seasonal options and am curious to come back and try the pasta. Cute little place and luckily we came right before they got too busy.

Wow!! The outside is very deceiving but the minute you walk through the big blue door you know you are in for a treat! Staff were welcoming and explained everything perfectly. And the food, just wow! My husband won't stop talking about the garlic bread plus the pizza was full of flavor! Perfect for two people. In a sense, thankfully we don't live closer as this place is deliciously dangerous!

The place was smaller than I expected but such a cute vibe. All the pizzas are stuffed and pasta is homemade. I got the caesar salad and ricotta gnocchi. Super delicious! The only thing is the place can feel a little small and the tables are super close together.

Another out of the park visit to press. I stopped here when a meeting got cancelled, and I was super hungry. It was a great, unexpected stop in my afternoon. I wanted to work at the bar which wasn't a problem. I sat and worked while I munched on a Big Mac pizza- truly an ideal Friday afternoon. I can't recommend Press enough. You must go!

We stopped in here on a whim and it was great! We got the mozzarella pizza with chicken added and it was the one of the best pizzas we've had. We also ordered the pepperoni pizza and the ricotta gnocchi both were also great.

We live right around the corner and this has been on my list for awhile but my husband just isn't usually a pizza guy. I FINALLY convinced him and omg. I'm sad it took us so long to try it! The bar is awesome and the location is very clean and simple. The service was great all night. I love the open kitchen so you can see everything going on. We hesitated about the draft cocktails and the price associated with them but they explained how the bartender hand mixes them and they are super high quality. I got the Wisconsin OF and it was amazing. Their wine and beer prices are super fair. Now the food. My only complaint is I didn't get to try pizza and pasta because the pizza was so filling! But it was phenomenal. We got the toasted ravioli and it truly tasted like a toasted ravioli. They LOAD them with toppings - meats, sauces, veggies. You get what you pay for and we will definitely be back to try some more options. I still want to try the pasta. So good, very casual. Great option for a Friday evening dinner. We'll have to grab happy hour here too!

Stuffed Puzza: Corn with added bacon

So delicious and service from Brian was brilliant as well. I ordered the corn stuffed pizza and added bacon. Lovely atmosphere as well in South City. I don't review a lot and I'm not even finished eating, but I had to make sure you knew about this. Take a gander at the menu. I hear the pasta is great as well.

I'm giving five stars even though what l ordered was not my favorite. My husband is still raving about the dinner so l think it is just me. Drinks are pictured! For the table we ordered two pastas and a pizza. I want to continue to explore their pizza options. The menu is unique in its own way so read the ingredients and try out your favorite foods.

I LOVE PRESS. LITERALLY OBSESSED. The gluten free pizza dough is the literal best on this planet. Everything is so incredibly good. They make everything fresh after you order, so it isn't quick; however, it is well worth the wait for this delicious food, plus there are plenty of interesting drinks to choose from. Don't let the location deter you from taking a look inside - yes, there is a bustling street right outside, but you will feel perfectly relaxed by the great atmosphere and kind staff members when you get inside.

I don't get down to Cherokee Street that much so a lot of new places come and go without me knowing…read moreabout it. 'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. Once you hit 40 though you may feel a bit out of place on busy nights (or it will make you feel young again!)

Love the travel theme of space!…read more Both times I've been here, I've gotten the wine flight. I love that they put them in a tiered serving rack that puts them in the order you should drink them in. I had the bubbly flight, and it was outstanding. We've also had some of the small plates (not pictured was the charcuterie board and the house made bread). The food is prepared by Hamilton's and is outstanding. Service has tended to be a little on the slow side, but not too bad. Staff have always been friendly. There's not a ton of seating inside, but they do have a patio for nicer weather. The wine selection was pretty solid, and they also had a great variety of beers. I didn't try the beer myself, but my guest really enjoyed theirs. While we didn't order food, everything coming out to nearby tables looked amazing. If you're looking for a mature, laid-back spot to unwind, Winnie's is definitely worth checking out. We'll definitely be back!

Minute after minute passed by where we watched the other tables get their drinks and we had to wait forever and a day for ours. By the time we got ours, I wasn't even in the mood. Of course it didn't help that the kitchen was closed, so we had no food to go with it. The drink itself was smoky, so smoky that it overpowered the rest of the ingredients in the drink, although I tasted hints of violet. Overall, the experience could have been better. I'm willing to give this place another shot, but maybe at a different time when it's not so busy.

Get a reservation or get there early…read more I had a BEAUTIFUL Sunday morning here. I checked the reservation online and they had a 10 AM opening and a line before they were even open. We sat outside , our server was wonderful and they were so helpful and accommodating. First I ordered the Dive Bar Coffee which just wasn't for me so i got the Dottie (with the good crunchy ice) instead and it was wonderful! (They even took the first one off and i didn't even ask, thoughtful. ) Food was delicious. My Hashbrown was delicious and crispy and seasoned and mm. And the salmon was yummy. My date got the baked eggs and loved it as well (they make their bread so will be back just to have bread). We also got the ButterScotch Budino for dessert. As someone who isn't a fan of pudding , this was goooooood. Salty, sweet and crumbling that cookie into it (per their suggestion), worth it. Their menu is seasonal so check before you go, but definitely go.

Yet another restaurant that surprised me in St. Louis. They have good food here. Like, foodie food…read more So my next dinner lead me to Little Fox. A small plates restaurant that felt a little Italian. We make reservations and show up to this place that looks like a neighborhood pub. Quaint, in the corner, inviting light shining through medium sized windows. Inside, the vibes were a hybrid of someone's very nice dining room and an old western saloon. I know that's almost nonsensical, but the vibes were good. We felt right at home. Service was spot on. The server was very nice and new the menu pretty well. The food came out tapas style, so when something was ready, it just came right out. I like that. I like the periods where there are so many plates on the table at one time that it's overwhelming. What's what eating is all about. As for the food itself, it was good. I'll give a little blurb on each thing, as not to wear out your eyeballs. Crispy Artichokes (sauce au vert). These were fun and nice and crispy. Don't see artichokes like these very often. The sauce was a little weak, though. Didn't exactly go well with these fried little morsels. 'Nduja Croquetas (bomba rice, spicy prosciutto, fontina, grenada pepper aioli). Wow, now these little flavor bombs cannot be missed. Spicy sausage arancinis with a nice peppery aioli to dip. An intensely flavorful little dish that I loved. Can't find it on the menu, maybe it was seasonal, maybe it was a special, but we had a bone marrow French onion soup that was nice. The soup was good good. Very well developed flavors. The marrow bone was a little sloppy, though, and we got a transverse cut of bone, leaving very little marrow to access. Next were the Mussels (green garlic broth, Spanish vermouth, pickled peppers, spring onions, grilled LF bread). Very well cooked mussels, sitting in a lovely broth to dip your bread in. Ask for extra bread. But do not ask for extra of that sauce. That was really bad sauce. Sauce work seems to be this place's only weak point. Probably the biggest dish of the night, the Bolognese Bianco (Newman Farms pork & mushroom bolognese, bucatini, gremolata, parmigiano reggiano). This was a really nice pasta dish! Love those big, thicc bucatini noodles. Flavorful bolognese, great texture from the gremolata, and just cheesy enough to make this probably the most complete dish of the night. Then finally the Sea Scallops (ramp soubise, morel mushrooms, house-cured pancetta). Scallops were scored and cooked to look like fine art. Light scallops paired with nice umami from the morels and the pancetta, all tied together by that nice soubise. You don't see that very often either. We ended the meal with a Sticky Toffee Pudding (apple & date cake, apple brandy toffee, crème chantilly, marcona almond tuile). Chef's kiss. Such a delicate sponge with a nice date flavor. Then boom, the sweet boozy toffee, the creamy chantilly, the texture from the tuile. Every element helped make this a great dessert to end a great meal. Overall, another very pleasant surprise. This was a very good dinner, and I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in St. Louis again.
