What a great morning at the Art Museum!! We started early, at open, at the Trajan Roman exhibit with reservations at Panorama. After the exhibition, we checked in to the restaurant with cushy chairs and a view out towards Art Hill. (be nice if they cleared some of the brush so you could see a little further. not the trees, the weedy brush). Our server, Heather, was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. My dining companion ordered some french dip sliders and i ordered the tomato tart on salad. Food tasted as good as it looked. We're definitely planning on another museum and lunch event. read more

We have dined here on a few occasions and the food was good - quality ingredients and preparation. We had reservations for today and specifically requested a view and a quiet corner. We were seated in the noisiest part of the restaurant furthest away from the view. Now there was a table with a view in a corner. She said we could not have that because it was a 4 person table. We walked out. I'm fine spending $80+ for lunch for a good experience but not for a noisy, cramped negative experience. It wasn't exactly friendly either. Also, they canceled my reservation. Can't believe I haven't been here in years since I live only 15 mins away. The ambiance is relaxing and beautiful and everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their food - the salads, chicken and salmon. Great service too and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality. The food is delicious, but I gave it three stars because this visit I noticed just how much they cut back on the food portions. Two of us my party actually left a little hungry. It would've been better for them to keep their normal serving size and discharge more and then I'd be totally happy. Our service was extremely slow. So slow that I had time to use the restroom and do a 15 minute walk around the gift shop before my husband cleared our check. Additionally, I had drank my water and needed a refill and she didn't get back for quite some time. I left 2 stars, but I can explain. I've eaten here once and attempted a second time, both with reservations. The first experience was hands down 5 stars. From the service to the food. We had the burger and turkey sandwich with the Brussel sprouts and it was solid. We talked about it the rest of the day. The view is pretty. The second time we attempted to eat here we arguably had the worst service I've ever experienced. I've never got up and left a restaurant before. We waited in the art museum for it to open and went it right when they opened and were the first people seated. Other groups started coming into the restaurant. We sat there for ten minutes and no one came to our table to even take a drink order, meanwhile other tables were being served and some were even placing their food orders after receiving their drinks at this point. Instead of trying to flag someone down (we were looking around while sitting there wondering if someone didn't see they were seated) we just left and went somewhere else. It was such a bummer and let down after the first nice experience and now we won't go back. read more

We had such a fantastic experience here. We were celebrating my parent's 40th anniversary and you would be surprised with how hard it is to find a nice reservation in St. Louis without it being a catering/booking fee of $1000+. I emailed them and they immediately booked their semi-private room for me without question. Honestly, it was so easy I questioned if I actually talked with the right person or if I was scammed. Safe to say, we were not scammed and they're just easy to work with! They also called the morning of to confirm. They had everything set up for us when we got there, and quickly got kids menus as well. We loved it because my mom is a brunch person but my dad really isn't, this was the perfect in between. Their menu isn't super large, but truly has something for everyone. And everything we got was so good! It was priced fairly too, what you would expect in a place like this. The service was amazing the whole time, we were checked on a lot and made sure we were taken care of. Our waters never ran out and they always noticed if we needed another drink. Bri was our waitress and she and her whole team took really awesome care of us. We had a couple kiddos with us and they did not act like they were an inconvenience at all either. We went to the St. Louis Art Museum's Panorama restaurant and they had delicious food! I ordered the Charleston Shrimp and Grits and my boyfriend ordered the Panorama Breakfast. Both were so delicious! The grits were some of the best I have ever eaten and the shrimp were very large. The Panorama Breakfast included two eggs your way, bacon, sausage and cranberry pumpkin toast. Very tasty too. View out the floor to ceiling windows is charming and it is of the top of Art Hill and the St. Louis statue. They gave me a lovely amuse bouche small dessert for my birthday and it too was delicious. We combined it with three scoops of vanilla ice cream from Clementine's that were full of flavor. I highly recommend Panorama for a meal or brunch! Just had the loveliest afternoon tea at Panorama in the St. Louis Art Museum with my aunt, and honestly, 10/10 recommend. The day was beautiful, the tea was hot (as it should be), and the snacks? Plentiful. Mini lobster rolls were involved. What more could a girl want? Omg #stlouispescatarianapproved It's a great excuse to spend some time at our criminally underrated art museum. The food is a work of art, befitting its setting inside the Art Museum. After a great morning of touring we enjoyed excellent service here at Panorama, but weren't blown away by the taste. We split the burrata and bean appetizer and, it could have been on the cover of Food and Wine. Absolutely stunning, but really lacked any flavor. My friend had a decent burger, the French dip sliders were also fine, and we both had the cauliflower salad that was light but again, not seasoned enough for us. Overall, so glad we tried it, but for the price I don't know that we would return. read more

I got a chance to finally try this place. I ended up paying $15 to park in the art museum garage because street parking was limited. After taking the elevator upstairs to the first level, we walked in and let the hostess know we had a reservation. The hostess was pleasant and nice. We sat quickly at our table and were greeted by a woman who poured us some water. We ordered an ice tea and lemonade while we looked over the menu. Our waitress was nice enough to give us extra time to look since this was our first time here. We ended up ordering the steak frita and burger and chips. The wait for our food was about 15 minutes. The food was good overall. I do wish they would have drained my burger a bit from the grease. It made my burger a bit messier than it should have been. But it was still well seasoned and cooked overall. The place was clean and has plenty of natural light coming in from the ceiling to floor windows. It is a delightful reminder of Cajun cuisine that thrives in St Louis, and a fitting addition to the menu of an art museum. My problem was the ambiance + dining experience. As a solo diner, I was seated at a small table, as expected. The restaurant was largely empty when I arrived (no other diners in the main dining area, another party - of 3 -in the private section). The server and host had to steer them away from my table several times. This other party had a different server - why were they not seated in another section? Ultimately, I packed it up mid-meal. My friend had been raving about this place and was dying for me to try. I was really excited as the menu looked great and the service was incredible. They got us in as a larger party with no reservation in no time. I ordered the monte crisco and was taken about when I saw the size, especially for the price. The taste was fine but left still hungry. I did however try another friends pancake and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and portion. Located inside the St. Louis Art Museum, a Saturday brunch before a museum visit was fabulous! The most important part of any restaurant- the food- was a standout. The Eggs Benedict were beyond delicious. The ham was prosciutto and the hollandaise sauce was creamy perfection. Served with a couple asparagus spears and half a tomato was a good compliment to the main dish. I paired the meal with the French 75 Cocktail- gin, Prosecco, a little honey and lemon spiral, and it was also tasty. The view was lovely- huge windows look out over a dining patio and many trees (hence the name). The service was excellent- attentive without being overbearing. I made a lunch reservation online for my mom's birthday about a week in advance, they made sure to accommodate all special requests that were submitted along with it. The hostess and our waiter both wished her a happy birthday upon greeting us and sat us in from of the window as previously requested. We ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and a couple sandwiches to share. Everything was served in a timely manner, courses were spread evenly apart. The atmosphere is light, open and spacious. I absolutely love the floor to ceiling windows and all the natural light. We had a great time and they gave us a complementary birthday treat. Our waiter made a point to ask if we were members of the museum and applied our membership discount to our bill. The ambiance is very nice and quiet. The restaurant is located in the art museum and fairly classy. A great option for dates or a nice casual lunch. The food is pretty good, although the crepe is a little lack luster, everything else is pretty good. The Brussels sprouts are very good (fried with sugar) and the lobster is better than most I've had. The service is a bit lacking as they never came back to check on us or to refill water, but it's no big deal. A very good place for lunch when visiting forest park if you didn't want to be stuck at the zoo with just burgers, fries or any other finger foods. read more

I came here for my birthday with my friend. She said that when she made the reservation, it asked if they were celebrating so she marked birthday. When were you arrived, they told me happy birthday. But the weird thing is they never really did anything, not even a dessert. We thought that was odd. Our reservations were at 11:15 AM so when we arrived, there was only one other table of people. We sat at a table by the window. It was really just a window view. It was nothing that you would think of to be described as a panoramic view. And to get a good view, you had to get one of the few tables right at the window. The best thing about the entire meal was the brussels sprouts. These were like fried and drizzled with honey. They were absolutely delicious. I ordered the turkey Gouda sandwich. It was pretty good. My friend ordered the lobster roll and said it was OK. We had actually thought that would be better. It came with an interesting watermelon salad. The prices were pretty much the amount that you would expect to spend for lunch out. Bonus is that it is attached to the art museum so make sure you have an extra hour or two to browse through it. read more

I was finally able to come here for brunch after a round of golf nearby. In hindsight, I don't know what took me so long to eat here. The yelp reviews def threw me off here....it's one of the better brunches I've had in recent memory. What you need to know right away is that the crispy Brussels sprouts were some of the best Brussel sprouts I've had. Do not miss this. The space is absolutely gorgeous: modern, open, clean - there is something almost therapeutic about it upon being seated. Huge window panels and high ceilings facing art hill - there is not bad seat in the house. The menu is eclectic enough to come back multiple times. My group of 4 all had various cocktails including the Bloody Mary and the fresh blueberry ginger rum drink. All were great. They make a good shrimp and grits for brunch. Tastier and better value than a few trendy Stl restaurants such as Juniper. The sauce was delicious and they were generous with the amount of very creamy and well cooked grits. The cream cheese and chive eggs breakfast was just ok - I didn't taste the cream cheese in the eggs and the hash was decent. The toast and the accompanied jam were delicious and the bacon was perfectly crispy. However, the brussel sprouts stole the show and our entire party was in agreement. This is what we would come back for in a heartbeat. Also, the brunch menu pricing is in line with most other local brunch places ($10-15 brunch entrees). Service was top notch and our water glasses never once dipped below half full. Personally, this was a fantastic value for great service and ambiance. THE BIG: Panorama indeed. Located inside Forest Park at the St. Louis Art Museum (adjoining the museum). High ceilings/fine dining atmosphere and combine that with a great view of Forest Park brings the A game. No outdoor seating which is unfortunate but the gigantic windows more than makes up. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here on my final day in St. Louis and did the touristy things around St. Louis. Fortunately most things in St. Louis are free and that's awesome. Parking was kind of a hassle in the east lot since the traffic from the zoo spills over, however if you go to the west lot (further from the restaurant), there are alot more spaces. The ambience was definitely fine dining and the menu reflected that. We first started off with the fruit baked brie, which was absolutely delicious. The one qualm is that it only comes with 4 pieces of bread compared to a big chunk of brie cheese. I ordered the Pimento grilled sandwich (essentially a grilled cheese) with a tomato soup dipping sauce. For a sandwich you're allowed to get a side and I chose the brussel sprouts. The way they prepared brussel sprouts were different. Instead of cutting the brussel sprouts, they flayed it and added a nice tang to it. I was a fan. The grilled cheese was amazing. I felt like a little kid again. The pimento sandwich did have a few veggies inside to make the sandwich have more volume. Nonetheless, delicious. Service was great and super formal. Our waiter once said "Very good sir, I shall return". I chuckled. They filled up water and coffee very frequently and knew the menu in and out. The daily three course meals seems like a steal at $25. Maybe next time... THE FINAL BAMBOO: I spent $16 w/o tip for my pimento cheese sandwich and unlimited pours of coffee. Not a bad deal for a good last meal in St. Louis. Panorama is back! The new chefs are bringing it back to what it once was. After Chef Ivy left things definitely slipped but I would say it is as good or maybe even better than the Chef Ivy days.
