While there I watched a gal making our sandwiches stop and leave the line and refill straws wearing the same gloves, leaving our sandwiches out on the line. The trash can was out and empty and other diners asked if there was another trash can to dispose of their trash from eating. If this how you run a business, this is precisely the way to run it to the ground. Seriously the most pathetic sight I've witnessed in a long time and that sucks because I like their sandwiches.

I ate about half and took the other half home. My wife's chicken modiga was also huge. She got two breaded chicken breasts and a pile of pasta. She ate about half of one chicken breast and brought the rest home. The chicken breast that she started eating was great. Nice breading. Nice lemony sauce. The next day we reheated our leftovers. We each got some lasagna, and we split the chicken breasts (I got the whole second one and she got the one she started on the night before). The lasagna tasted as good as the first time. This is what I noticed on the chicken breasts. The whole chicken breast tasted like it had a rubbery side to it. I suspect that particular chicken breast had freezer burn on the one side. The other chicken breast was perfect. I had my wife try my chicken breast and she agreed, kind of rubbery. I don't know if this is a one off thing or if this happens often. It was the only place to get an UNsweet tea in Alabama back in the day. Ten years later, now living in Arnold, MO--land of chain restaurants--I went into McAlister's. Great to have a good sandwich (not hero or hoagie or sub) shop back in the rotation. One funny note. They have no trash cans in there, but they are not needed.
