I have not been to McAlister's in years. I was just driving in circles one day looking for a pastrami sandwich. I decided to give them a try for old time's sake. Used to love the Tea. It was the only place to get an UNsweet tea in Alabama back in the day. Ten years later, now living in Arnold, MO--land of chain restaurants--I went into McAlister's. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, the music, the smiling faces and the really good--perfectly portioned sandwich. They customized it for me like I was at a local deli. Great to have a good sandwich (not hero or hoagie or sub) shop back in the rotation. One funny note. They have no trash cans in there, but they are not needed. People kept coming by to clean up after me. On my way out I had a wadded up napkin in my hand, looking for a trash can to throw it in. A guy with a green McAlister's polo on and latex gloves, looked me in the eye, and held out his hand to take my trash. I had to laugh. read more

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. The customer support was terrible from the moment I walked in. I stood at the counter for several minutes without being acknowledged, and when I was finally helped, the employee seemed annoyed and rushed through my order without listening. To make matters worse, I found a broken toothpick in my sandwich, which actually hurt my gums. That's a serious safety issue and honestly unacceptable for any place serving food. The sandwich itself was also poorly made--ingredients were unevenly distributed and the bread tasted stale. The bathrooms were just as bad. The mirror had a swastika smeared on it, and it clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. I also saw a worker go in and laugh after noticing it, which was extremely inappropriate. As an Ashkenazi Jewish customer, I found this deeply disrespectful and disturbing. The bathroom arsonists smelled like someone recently smoked in there, and there was trash overflowing from the bins, which made the whole area feel neglected and unsanitary. Overall, this was a very upsetting and unacceptable experience. Between the lack of basic food safety, poor customer service, and offensive, unclean environment, I will not be returning. This is a clean restaurant in Arnold. I got the "you pick 2" option, with a Italian sandwich, and Crab chowder soup. The sandwich was thick with toppings, and the soup was hot and seasoned well. I ate there, and the dining room was clean with lots of people there at lunchtime. It is a good place for groups or single people. read more

As others have said, the customer service here immediately stood out in our first visit! A nice young lady named Abbey made a great Ambassador for McAlister's on our visit, as she walked us through our order with a smile & then attentively helped us in the dining area, throughout our meal. The sandwiches themselves were very tasty, as was their version of an Arnold Palmer drink. The sandwiches are on the expensive side, but their drinks are huge and reasonably priced w/ included refills. The restaurant itself was clean and seating was spaced nicely. I don't see how they're staying in business!! Kettle hut in festus is 10× better!! Fat and undone fries! Yum! Tried reviving the fries in our air fryer but the whole dinner was a lost cause . 55 sugarfire is not worth stopping at!! Two big pieces of fat that they call brisket! Tiny pile of pulled pork that looked like was scraped off the bottom of the pan! This is a good place to avoid!! read more

Overall, I really like Mcallister's. I like the Pecanberry salad (greens, strawberries, blueberries, nuts, chicken) but the raspberry vinaigrette that comes with it is AWFUL. It has the most awful artificial taste--YUCK!!! I'm not sure why they would ruin such a nice salad with something that tastes so bad and is so artificially red. A nice balsamic would be so much better...or even a REAL raspberry vinaigrette. read more

This location has been open for a couple months now so my wife and I decided to give it a go for a Super Bowl cheat day. We walked in and looked over the big menu board. Once we decided what we wanted we walked to the cashier and ordered. I ordered the Smokehouse Turkey hot sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. We got our number and found a table. The food was brought out rather quickly. The employees seemed nice, and were attentive to our drink refills and dishes. The food was delicious. The sandwich was decently portioned, and the mac n cheese was good. Not a lot of the macaroni but the taste was cheesy and creamy. Overall, this place is decently priced, and their food is delicious. It's not huge portions, but the taste is great! Will return. read more

If you are looking for a deli that will get our order right, this is not the place! We ordered a King Club sandwich which they made into a wrap! We live quite a ways from this facility, it wasn't worth the trip back.When we called and spoke to management, Michelle apologized for the mistake assured us she would mail us a coupon for a free sandwich, that didn't happen either! Overcharged on 2 pick 2 meals. The sandwich meat looked as if it was just slapped on there, so I had to remake the sandwich myself. Out of spuds (always the case) and missing the chips for the tortilla soup, as well as the pickles. I didn't think this place could get any worse. We usually have really good experiences here, but last tonight there was at least one employee SMOKING in restrooms TWICE while we were eating. No other customers were in the restaurant, so we were sure that it was an employee. The smoke smell was so strong that you could smell it well into the dining area, but was definitely strongest by the restrooms. I try to keep my one year old away from secondhand smoke as much as I can, and I hate that he was exposed in a non-smoking family-oriented establishment. This really tarnished the otherwise wonderful previous experiences we've had here. read more

this restaurant has bitchy workers who don't know how to do their job. work on your hospitality. one of the managers there (she has long blonde hair) seems to think she's better than everyone else and needs to pop her god complex bubble. it would make me more comfortable to be served by people with better hygiene as well. however, one of the workers with dark brown hair and 2 strips of blonde in the front is very sweet and always makes me smile. read more

1st time visitor to McAlisters. I was really hoping for a quality Tuna sandwich and could not have been more disappointed. My lunch plate with a small drink was OVER $10 and barely enough Tuna to cover the bottom of the croissant bun. But the most disappointing was the wretched taste of the Tuna. I routinely eat Tuna sandwich's from Deli's, Subway, etc. and the taste of this Tuna was awful. Please don't get me wrong, it wasn't a "spoiled" taste. The dinning area of the Deli is clean, modern, roomy and well lit. All of the employee's seemed friendly and refilled my drink twice. I actually considered asking for a refund in lieu of this review due to how little amount of food and how bad it tasted but decided the review may be more helpful. I have nothing against this restaurant or anyone that works there. read more

I have had lunch at several McAlisters, Fenton, Maplewood and now Arnold. I think this one isn't as nice as the others. The peach tea here is not as peachy as the other two stores. I think all of the employees are very attentive to their guest. We found a twist tie in the cup of my three year old grand baby. I think they need more time to get things right. read more
