Frankie's is a great local go to with consistent, classic food. We stopped in on a weekday for dinner and were seated quickly. The restaurant was cleaner inside and it was busy but not overall packed. Our waitress checked in on us frequently to keep our drinks full! I got the shrimp speidini and white pasta. Hate to have to write this but we have to let owners and management know what's going on. We have been going to Frankies and their other associated restaurants for the last 20 years. Every one of them the food has dropped in quality, quantity and consistency while prices skyrocket up. Some of the restaurants are better than others but still nothing like what it use to be. Servers and bartenders are still good for the most part. Couple weeks ago we tried Frankie G's Imperial one more time and we were there with friends that have also been going for years, we both agreed it would be our last time unless you guys change your ways. One of the other main issue is management. Same visit our friend informed one of the workers that the woman's restroom was disgusting. Male manager shortly after peeked his head into the men's restroom and yelled is it dirty or disgusting in here? He stated he didn't think it was and actually was asking customers if it was because someone complained. It wasn't horrible in the mens, but it wasn't really clean either. Dude just clean your restrooms. Didn't even realize it was the woman's restroom in question and didn't see him address it. Our same friends were there couple weeks earlier and it wasn't really busy since it was early. They hadn't received their food in over an hour while others that came in after, got their food. My buddy asked the woman manager what was going on and she snapped at him saying the kitchen was really busy and they would get their food when its ready? They finally got their food and wasn't that great as well as the manager was mean mugging my buddy the entire time. It got so bad he actually was mean mugging back. No apologies or recognition of the problem, only an attitude and mean mugging a customer. Unbelievable, my buddy is an easy going very nice guy and got a chuckle out doing the same thing to her. But if she would have done that crap to me I would've went up to her and demanded she call her boss. Completely unacceptable behavior. I've owned and managed a successful buisness for 30 years, would never think of doing anything like this and would never allow any of my employees to act like this without being reprimanded and or fired. Apparently management is so arrogant and blind to see problems at hand and or just don't care. Its not the customers fault you suck now. Get your crap together and get back to old school basics like you use to do. Such a shame and hope the owners start to realize this and make the needed changes. read more

I should know better than to dine in a strip mall. Perhaps I shouldn't have high expectations. The people are very nice and genuine in their regard for patrons. That where it stopped for me. All else was simply unpleasant. The $10 house salad was mostly iceberg gone mushy from being drowned in the standard St Louis take on Italian dressing. The $27 fettuccine primavera was of a curious nature mostly due to the pasta length that ranged from little broken bits to half strands. Only a few mushroom slices survived the "chef" and were palatable. The rest of the veggies were tasty but drowned in what purported to be butter and garlic, but I suspect was cooking oil. I ordered something I don't often see in an Italian or family restaurant: a Reuben sandwich. It was a hearty portion with coleslaw as a side. On 05-17-2026 my family had dinner at approximately 05:15 PM. We had one Chicken Modiga pizza, one Chicken Wrap w/fries and two Cavatelli pasta dishes. Let me start off by saying that we've eaten at this establishment several times and have celebrated falling milestones here since it opened due to close proximity to where we live. With that said, I want to say the service was decent but the food was subpar again. The Pizza and Chicken Wrap were both cold to the touch, one Cavatelli was warm and creamy the other was cold and lumpy. I requested additional sauce for the lumpy Cavatelli and the waitress brought out a dish with cold melted butter and cream which I poured on in and it made no real difference to the lumpiness or temperature. In closing I wanted to review this restaurant so that others don't patronize this establishment, spend their hard earned money and get subpar food. This resturant isn't cheap to eat at. We recently utilized Frankie Gianino's catering for my sister in law's wedding on 9/21. They were extremely easy to work with and very reasonably priced. Our primary contact was Mike who was super helpful. Mike met us to tour the venue ahead time, arrived early the day of for set up, and during the dinner service was tirelessly running around himself collecting plates and drink wear. His staff were also super professional and friendly, The food was plentiful and delicious! Mike and his team also helped pack all of the leftovers for us so it was ready before tear down at the end of the night. Wanted a nice meal. Its started off so so, our server, would ask of we were ok... before we could answer she was gone. It was like we were a bother. I ordered the Pollo Broccoli, my boyfriend ordered the chicken spadini, we both oreder a side of broccoli dinner came. The the broccoli wasn't fit to eat. This is the more expensive of this restaurant owned by the same person, so it was good when I saw the cheaper lunch section on the menu. Otherwise, the prices are pretty high. Our waitress was tending bar and serving our table, so she was busy, and let us linger quite a while before coming back to us. I got the reuben sandwich and fries. Live close by the imperial location so have been going by there for convenience. Will not order any more food or enter the building to dine. Prices keep going up and up and up. When we first went toasted raviolis were $7.99 now they are $16.99. steak prices are also outrageous. $58 for an 8 ounce steak is absolutely outrageous. If you're wanting to get the best steak in the metro area, go to tuckers in Soulard are on South Lindburg by far the best steaks in the area. The reason for leaving the review. I keep a close eye on our loyalty points. As you get $10 off after 250 points. What's funny is they changed it from 100 loyalty points to 250 because they were losing money, I'm sure! last time we ate there which was a couple weeks ago our loyalty points were at 239. Ordered some to go which was over $40. Was going to order a pizza today so I looked up our loyalty points and it was still at 239. Which should have been adjusted from the last visit. so I called to ask why they didn't add the loyalty points from our last visit. Whoever takes the orders over the phone just tried to brush me off. so I called back and asked to speak to the manager Lydia. She blew me off as well. she could have handled the situation totally different and offered us ten dollars off on the pizza we were about to purchase. prices of pizza there have skyrocketed from $22-$25 to $30-$32. To be fair, the food deserves 5 stars. The service did not, and that's why I gave less stars. Four of us came in at dinner time on a Saturday December 30th. The wait for a table wasn't bad, right about 20 mins, which was fair given the time of day and how busy they were. I'm not sure if our server, Elizabeth, was having a bad day or what, but her attitude made it pretty clear she wasn't thrilled to have us in her section. Sensing this, our group was quick to order our drinks and appetizers and when she returned with our drinks we went ahead and ordered our meals. The food itself was great. The toasted ravs and potato skins were yummy and our meals were all fantastic, couldn't have asked for a better meal. Everything kind of went okay until we made the decision to order dessert. That young lady looked at us like her head was about to pop off her body and start spinning. Her reaction was so off putting that we second guessed our decision and asked to have our dessert packaged to go. I've never felt less welcome at a restaurant in my life. From start to finish we were there for a little over an hour, so I don't think we were overly pokey, monopolizing one of her tables. That would absolutely be a legitimate gripe, for any server. Instead, I suspect it's because we weren't dressed very nice. Specifically, we probably don't look like the kind of people that tip decent. At least that's the feeling I got. And in this particular case, I was so disappointed in her attitude towards us that I only left 20% tip on a $165 tab, where normally I would have left $70-80 on that same tab. The Long Island Ice Teas were probably one of the Best I have ever had.. got 2 We weren't that hungry so we opted for the appetizer of Fried Provel Bites. If you aren't from St. Louis you are missing out. This place is a brother/sister restaurant to others in the area so the House Salad is a must. It is big enough for a meal. We shared it. We tried the Garlic Parmesan Wings as well. They were good but could use more sauce. Remember that you are automatically charged a 20% Gratuity for parties of 6 or 8 (more) so check your receipt and tip more if you want. Frankie Gianino's Grill and Bar is located on Main Street in Imperial, MO. For starters, I ordered the Pumpkin Martini. It was listed as a "November" Cocktail even though it was December. The martini flavoring was more reminiscent of eggnog than pumpkin; however, it tasted great. My suggestion is that the serving staff bring the cocktail before the main meal instead of afterwards. Shortly after I had placed my order, the salad and bread arrived. It tasted like homemade Italian white bread complete with sesame seeds on the outer crust. It was served warm with real butter in foil tucked under the bread so the butter would spread easier. The salad had pimientos, onions, St. Louis cheese (provel), and was quite tasty. I had only eaten half of it when the meal came. For me, this was ok because I planned on taking 1/2 the salad home with me. I ordered the Chicken Modiga. It was a boneless, fried chicken breast in a white wine sauce with lots of mushrooms. The main entree included a choice of white or red pasta. I chose the white pasta, which was smothered in a creamy, garlic cheese sauce. The portions were large enough for two meals for anyone who is a light eater like me. Except for the Pumpkin Martini arriving late, the service was excellent. This was my first time at Frankie Gianino's, but other patrons were regulars. Repeat business is usually a sign that diners will get a good meal at a fair price. (Note: the specialty cocktails are pricey.) This place has been going down hill, but the prices went way up. The past few times our food hasnt been very good. Salads are usually very good, sometimes not very cold. Shrimp spedini is my favorite. The chicken modiga just isn't very modiga anymore. The last couple times it's been a piece of fried chicken with a piece of cheese melted and some bacon. Very little modiga sauce, if any. The fried Provel cheese bites have been hollow the last 2 times. My guess is they fry them too long and all the cheese oozes out into the fryer. The side of white pasta that used to be so good, is now very bland and is just lukewarm. Not sure if we will ever be back here. We much rather drive to Bill Gianinos in oakville. The birthday person got there before we got our damn table. The so called breaded mushrooms were not house made and was served to us lukewarm and some were still frozen in the center. They were sent back and the new ones were just as frozen. Don't waste you money on those. My brother ordered the pasta and it was terrible and his wife got sick a few hours afterwards, vomiting. The server we had was not good at all. It was over an hour before we got our order even taken. The 20% gratuity was added to our bill and when some of us paid in cash, we never got our change back. My husband and I used to go there many years ago before he got sick and passed away. We would always order the Joe special pizza and a.picture of beer. I loved the old decor with pictures of the family, the service, etc. ice craving something and wanted to go to Joe Bacardi's because they served a variety of food. I had the ribeye steak dinner at lunchtime. The surface was poor and that was saying it as nicely as I could. The server chose to wait on the people in the enclosed outdoor area, even though we arrive first. She never refilled our glasses once even though we had asked her to do so after about a half an hour waiting. The sweet woman working at the bar and the gentlemen clearing the tables our filled our drinks. Our steak came out lukewarm as well as pasta on the cold side. We enjoyed the salad. I enjoyed the pasta but the steak I left more than half of it there and I split it with my friend because I wasn't very hungry and he left half of his. Very disappointed in the quality of the steak. I usually love all of the Gianino's restaurants but this one is falling short often lately and since it is the closest to us we tend to order and go here most often. On my last few occasions the food taste and quality has been lacking. They are always busy and maybe that is taking away from the service but it's going to cost customers. The pizza has been subpar- lack of toppings and they aren't even taken to the edge of the cracker crust as previously done. The beef tips are one of my favorite dishes but the past few times the was pale brown in color and lacked the rich beef flavor it usually had. I think they need to slow down and make sure they get back to the quality ling time customers are used to before they loose those same customers. read more
