If you like unsanitary practices and to wait 20 minutes for a sandwich, this is the place for you. This isnt my first or fifth time in and it's a literal shitshow with workers each and every time. There's one person who works and the rest goof off. I realize good workers are hard to find, but you can do better. While there I watched a gal making our sandwiches stop and leave the line and refill straws wearing the same gloves, leaving our sandwiches out on the line. The trash can was out and empty and other diners asked if there was another trash can to dispose of their trash from eating. If this how you run a business, this is precisely the way to run it to the ground. Seriously the most pathetic sight I've witnessed in a long time and that sucks because I like their sandwiches. read more

Visited the Firehouse on Telegraph Road twice in a 3 day period. Both times the service was excellent. The employees were very friendly and respectful. They worked with a sense of urgency and the food was excellent. In addition, I left my hat there. They kept it until I could retrieve it a few days later. This is the first time I'd ever been to a Firehouse Sub shop! When I was there, it was around 6:15 pm, there were 3 tables with diners, and no one in line or ordering. So, it seemed pretty quiet. It took me a bit to figure out my order. The cashier seemed a bit bored by it all and wasn't really helpful to me as someone who'd never been here before. I got 2 sandwiches (one a combo), a large salad, and chili to go for my family. The workers at the counter were all teenage boys clearly having fun and not paying too close attention to the fact that they were at a business AND that they were working. Their voices were loud but luckily their conversations were not raunchy. I was very surprised how long it took to get my food! Anyway, at home we unwrapped and enjoyed. The sandwiches were flavorful and a decent portion (but not overstuffed like how Chipotle burritos sometimes get). The chili was on the mild side and the salad was fine. So, food was such that I'd return but maybe not to this location. read more

I really like this place. I've been a few times in the past, but today I realized it's conveniently close to my work, so I will be making more frequent lunch trips. Service is really friendly, and everything comes out fresh and fast. I typically get good food and service at this location but after tonight, won't be going here anymore. Online order wasn't ready and had to wait even though not busy in the restaurant. Kids behind counter goofing off and manager was asleep at a table with hoodie over her head. While fixing our sandwich, guy dropped piece of cheese on the floor and wiped it on apron like he was going to put on our sandwich. My wife told him to NOT put that piece on the sandwich's. Don't think we got any cheese on sandwiches after that and meat was all on one end of sandwich. This is how restaurants fail by not having a manager that is doing their job. Jersey Mikes opened up down the road and will be our goto for sandwiches from this point forward. Sad this place going downhill since they do help the community. read more

Service not good. Asked for a cup of loaded potato soup asked if there were green onions they don't have any so all good. Name called go to pick up food and the soup isn't there. I ask about it and the guy said we didn't order it. Yes we did but now I have to stand in line again to pay for it since the cashier couldn't ring it up when we asked for it. This was my first experience at any Firehouse Sub, and I enjoyed both the sandwich (I had the Hook and Ladder) and the atmosphere (World Cup on the TVs). The sandwich didn't seem to be anything to different from most of the grilled/toasted/yada yada sandwich shops that are popping up everywhere these days (Potbelly, Pickleman's, Which Wich, etc.). It was a good sandwich, though, and there were many options that will keep me wanting to go back. It is also great to have a place like this in Oakville. Plus, they have the Coke Freestyle machine that can pretty well turn a run-of-the mill place into an amazing experience for me! read more

The moment you walk in, every employee stops what they are doing and says, "Welcome to Firehouse". The menu adorns both the ordering area and on the wall above. They have many, many options to choose from. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub, with an order of chips and a soda. The sub was big enough to share or to have as another meal. It filled me up quite fast. They have a Coke Freestyle machine that has an amazing array of drink choices. This is a great addition to Oakville and I can't wait to go back! read more

The food is great but if you were planning to order curbside then forget about it. Multiple times they simply place the order right inside the door and let it get nice and cold for you. They will glance outside at you every now and then which leaves you wondering if their about to bring out your order or if they are still making it. It says curbside right at the top of the ticket but I guess it's not big enough... if your in a hurry then just walk in and wait for your food or your gunna wait 25 minutes longer than you needed to for a room temperature "hot" sandwich. read more

Review is based on several visits for lunch in 2016, as well as a recent catering order in June 2016. Bottom Line: Friendly owner, Uncharacteristically Decent Chain Food, Clean Operation. Overview: Since March 2016, I have been sporadically visiting this location for lunch carry out orders. I typically order online and tailor my order specifically how I like it. That is part of the reason I order online. Anyway, I have never ordered from any other Firehouse Subs location, so I have nothing to compare this to as far as their other chain locations go. I do like the concept that they support first responders. Food: My favorites here are: Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket: This is my go-to sandwich. The Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce uses cheap High Fructose Corn Syrup versus sugar. Because of that, I request the BBQ sauce to be left off. Out of the roughly 10 visits this year, only one time have they sent me home with BBQ sauce on the sandwich. Otherwise, I add black olives and mushrooms (an upcharge). I should request onions to be added. That would help this sandwich out. Hot Pastrami or Corned Beef Brisket: There is not much to say on these two sandwiches. The meat is decent and something nice to pick when I am not "feeling" the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. The sandwiches do not stand out in any unique way. They do serve them "Fully Involved" which I think means you get tomato, lettuce, onion, mayonnaise, and mustard. Those are all fresh and help the sandwich. Chili: The chili is decent for a chain. It has "body" with beans and meat. It is a not a "liquidy" chili. The crackers they offer with it are not your typical cheap-o saltines. I need to find out if they would be willing to add cheddar or chopped onion. It would certainly help, along with maybe some jalapeno or some other additions. Catering: I ordered the "Sub Platter" for a recent charity bingo event. Of course, they tailored the order to how I wanted using both white and wheat bread. Some nice surprises for me were the inclusion of a gallon of their sweet tea, as well as a lemon cookie. After ordering the sweet tea, I will be getting that again! I did not get to sample the lemon cookie, but I hope to try it in the future. As a side note, I found the owner, as well as the employee, Hailey (sp?), to be quite helpful during the catering ordering process. They helped me via email and by telephone. Parking and Location: This particular restaurant is located in a strip mall that has private lot parking. I have found it to be a very crowded lot, and you have to hunt somewhat for a spot. One day, I noticed a girl walking back from the Mobil station on the corner lot to where she worked (she was dressed in something formal) in the strip mall. I asked her who all these cars belong to. She said that the salon in that strip holds mostly their customers. Then in the evening, you have a total of three restaurants competing for space. Online Ordering and Rewards Program: The computer systems for customers at Firehouse Subs could use some help. The online ordering system is separate from their rewards system. Oh, and their rewards system has separate web and smartphone applications that are separate and do not share data. Perhaps these are results of growing pains. When I spoke with the owner of this particular franchise location about the issues I have experienced, I was told they are supposed to be making changes to their systems by year end. One More Thing: At this location, they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. I rarely get to use it because most of my orders are "to go", and I am not a big fan of lugging a soda around. Regardless, it is a bonus in my mind, and just one more incentive for me to continue coming back. Summary: As much as I am not a fan of chain restaurants, the convenient location and the unique offerings at Firehouse Subs brings me back time and time again. Online ordering is a huge plus for me, as well. read more

First time here trying this place and they messed up my husbands order. "Half of the sandwich normal, the other half put the toppings on the side." After taking the sandwich back up there he had to tell them 3 times what he ordered. Finally the manager figured out what he meant. Then the employees said oh! So half of it was to go? Stupidity here people. Then, as I was sitting at my table, I watched one of the guys behind the counter take off his hat, scratch his head with his gloved hand for a good while then proceeds to put his hat back on and put his hands back on customers sandwiches. We have been here several times and the food is great. Today we stopped and we had to wait. There were a few people in the place and Tyler who waited on us seemed a little overwhelmed. We asked for our order to go and he put dine in so we had to wait longer for them to package it up. At one point he mentioned someone called in sick. Sorry but you don't have to let your customers know the issues you are having. I also had to put my reward number in three different times because he kept saying he was not on the right screen. I love Firehouse subs! Usually the staff greets you when you arrive. The subs are served warm. And to top it off you get to put hot sauce(s) of your choice on your sub. I crave trying the hottest sauces they have. Each location chooses which hot sauces they'll carry. Tand waited for our subs. While waiting I went to pick out the hot sauces I was going to use that day. Unfortunately the pickings were very slim (at least 25% of the sauces were gone) (I took a pic, but can't see how to share it). I asked a gal cleaning and she said they have been out for awhile. So for grins, I spoke to the manager (older, short woman) who told me they just ran out. Not a fan of being lied to. Not sure if i'll go back to this location.
